[00:00:00] Speaker A: This episode comes with a content warning. The following contains scenes of malicious violence, timestamps and details in the show notes. Listener discretion is advised. [00:00:16] Speaker B: You are listening to an Atomic Broadcasting production. [00:00:20] Speaker C: So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature presentation. [00:00:24] Speaker B: And remember, member, do your part, such as, like, comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an Atomic time. [00:00:47] Speaker A: On their way out of the abandoned arena with their new knowledge, the party was attacked by a group of hooded fanatics claiming the name of Aaron. After a struggle, the party managed to defeat them before an unseen voice applauded their efforts. [00:01:12] Speaker C: So a little bit ago, I started reading the Flash from DC Comics. Obviously. [00:01:17] Speaker D: Which Flash? [00:01:18] Speaker C: The current flash book by Jeremy Adams. And it's been great. It opened the door to the Flash to me, and I've been enjoying it a lot. And I've been reading older stories now because it's been a wonderful time. And then they just announced the other day that they're changing writers and artists and such. [00:01:37] Speaker D: Why? [00:01:38] Speaker C: I don't know. I think they just want to change the direction in the tone of the book, which the tone of the book was happy family, which is what I really love. And now I'm concerned that I'm going to have to drop off the book because it's not going to be as exciting to me. [00:01:52] Speaker D: Was it not selling well? [00:01:54] Speaker C: I don't think. I think it was selling well. They went to twice a month instead of once a month. [00:01:58] Speaker D: Oh, wow. [00:01:59] Speaker C: And they've been really going unless that was just them trying to finish his stuff off before sending him off. But it's been quite a thing for me. The other day I found out about it and it made me really sad. Yeah, but the same writer is starting to write a Hal Jordan Green Lantern story, which I'm a big fan of. [00:02:20] Speaker D: I'm always confused with the Green Lanterns. There's so many of them. [00:02:23] Speaker C: Yeah, there are. You're right. Some of them get stories, some of them don't. And it's sad. [00:02:28] Speaker D: They all get stories at the same they're all cops. Yeah, I know. There's so many from Earth, and there's, like, only one from every other planet. [00:02:37] Speaker C: Yes. [00:02:38] Speaker B: Earth is special. [00:02:39] Speaker C: Earth is special. Humans are very willful. [00:02:42] Speaker D: We're stupid. [00:02:44] Speaker B: Stubborn. [00:02:45] Speaker D: Stubborn. [00:02:46] Speaker B: Yeah, willful is just another way to say stubborn. [00:02:53] Speaker C: But anyway, read these good books because these books are good if you're interested in comics, if you're ever interested in the Flash, jeremy Adams'flash is a very good run to read. [00:03:02] Speaker D: We are always sponsored by even if. [00:03:04] Speaker C: You don't know anything about the Flash. [00:03:05] Speaker B: You, sir, have cemented yourself as a Nerd. [00:03:09] Speaker C: It doesn't matter. [00:03:10] Speaker D: We're all sitting around a table, talking into microphones, playing imaginary games, fenn. [00:03:16] Speaker A: I don't know what you guys are talking about. We're, like, super cool here, making a podcast off of a Nerdy activity on the other side. [00:03:26] Speaker C: You guys probably know a bit about this, some of you. I started reading Milestone Comics. They have some compendium collections that they put out. And one of the big characters everyone knows is Static from the old TV show Static. [00:03:38] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness. [00:03:40] Speaker C: TV show early two thousand s. I started reading the old original books because they've started rereleasing them. Because DC, I hear they do that now. They are really good and they're not selling super well. So if anyone's very much interested in this, they're, like, only $40 to $50 for, like, 1200 pages worth of comics. [00:04:03] Speaker D: Oh, my wow. [00:04:05] Speaker C: They are amazing. And you should buy them so that they finish the collection because they just might not finish the collection if they don't sell well enough. And I've never read them before I decided to pick it up from in stock trades for, like, $20 instead of 50. And, like, my goodness. It's some really good stuff. [00:04:23] Speaker B: That old TV show brings back memories. [00:04:26] Speaker D: It was so good. It was. That was a childhood memory. [00:04:30] Speaker B: It is. [00:04:32] Speaker D: We're old. [00:04:34] Speaker E: We're in our 20s. [00:04:37] Speaker D: We're old. [00:04:39] Speaker C: Late 20s, actually. I tried to rewatch static Shock I tried to rewatch static Shock recently, and it didn't grab me as much as it used to or as much of a lot of the DC shows still grab me. But Static Shock is just it didn't quite get my interest. [00:04:54] Speaker D: Again, Static Shock has a lot of political stuff behind it which I don't really feel like getting into. [00:05:00] Speaker C: A lot of Milestone has a lot of that. [00:05:02] Speaker D: Yeah. So it made a real issue when making the cartoon. Yeah. So they couldn't do half the things that would have made it more acceptable to an adult audience member. [00:05:15] Speaker C: Yeah. A lot of milestones are not political, but it's all from the perspective of black artists and black writers. And it's where they get to tell stories just from people, from artists and writers from that culture, and they all get to tell these stories together. So they're very different and told from very different perspective from most comic books. Even if they have, like, a black writer writing Superman is very different than them getting to write milestone together, which the hero icon is essentially Superman, but is very different. [00:05:47] Speaker D: Neat. [00:05:48] Speaker C: They talk a lot about that. They all got their powers, basically from a gang war that the police went in and used experimental gas on them and killed, like, hundreds of people and then covered it up. But a lot of those people got powers from it. [00:06:01] Speaker D: So welcome to the written in The Lost. We are now a comic book podcast. [00:06:05] Speaker C: I want to talk about comic books sometimes. [00:06:07] Speaker D: No, it's good. I'm not saying that. I was just using that as a way to wrap up the banter sideshow. [00:06:14] Speaker C: It's sam's Comic Corner. [00:06:16] Speaker D: Yeah. If you guys want Sam's Comic Corner, let us know. Rate us five stars, do all that stuff and leave a comment. That's sam's comic corner. [00:06:25] Speaker C: I'm happy to talk about more like I talked at the first episode that I started reading hellboy. I finished reading a lot of it and I'm reading the BPRD omnibuses as they come out. And that's another thing that if you're ever slightly interested in comic books, hellboy is a great intro because of how well executed it is and how just on its own it is. [00:06:44] Speaker B: You are our comic book. [00:06:46] Speaker D: I'm not that big into comics as Sam is, but my intro to comics was the vision series where he has like, a family that was so good. [00:06:53] Speaker C: Which, interestingly enough, vision by Tom. [00:06:55] Speaker F: Because of Sam. [00:06:56] Speaker D: Yeah, no, it was actually not. Some of my other friends picked it up and I read it in the back of their car. But then I owned the first episode and then he owned the rest of it. So I borrowed it from him partly because and now I'm borrowing sandman. [00:07:06] Speaker B: So the only comics that I've ever gotten into was my dad had a stack of old comics, like 1970s I. [00:07:14] Speaker D: Meant to wrap this up. I'm sorry. [00:07:16] Speaker C: That's fine. [00:07:17] Speaker B: Now we have more like Donald Duck. [00:07:20] Speaker C: Lovely. [00:07:21] Speaker D: Oh, that's great. Like the Archie comics. [00:07:23] Speaker B: Yeah, the Archie comics. I have one old spider man comic or sonic. [00:07:30] Speaker F: Okay, so here's the controversial hit manga. [00:07:34] Speaker D: I like manga. [00:07:35] Speaker F: Comic books versus manga. [00:07:38] Speaker C: There's not a they're both good. [00:07:41] Speaker B: Written anime. [00:07:43] Speaker F: Written anime. [00:07:44] Speaker D: The only manga that I used to have a shonen, but the only manga that I read was dead man wonderland. And that was because I was really into the anime when I was younger. And then they just stopped airing it because nobody in Japan liked it. But it was like a real hit in America. So I had to look up the manga. [00:07:57] Speaker C: That's funny. [00:07:58] Speaker B: You have to learn how to read mangas. [00:08:00] Speaker C: You read them backwards. [00:08:01] Speaker D: Don't watch or read dead man wonderland if you don't like a lot of gore. [00:08:06] Speaker F: I mean, that kind of goes for a lot of more adult manga anyway. I wouldn't say violence in comic books, sam really? [00:08:14] Speaker C: It depends. Just like manga, there's a lot of options. If you want that, there's definitely books for that. And if you don't want that, there's definitely books for that. Yeah, you can read about comic books. And not even just superhero comic books. Just comic books in general. Is there's a story for everything? Like, indie comics are amazing and they tell lots of stories that have nothing to do with superheroes but tell just amazing stories in this amazing medium that is writers and artists coming together and telling an amazing story. [00:08:46] Speaker F: Maybe one day we can have a comic book of our campaign. [00:08:50] Speaker D: That would be amazing. [00:08:52] Speaker A: Speaking of coming together and telling an amazing story, let's jump in. [00:08:56] Speaker D: That was slick. That was good. [00:08:58] Speaker B: Beautiful. [00:09:00] Speaker F: I tried to help with that. [00:09:01] Speaker A: So as the previous Leon guy said, you had just finished defeating this group of randos who attacked you on your way out. [00:09:10] Speaker C: And Rickard. [00:09:11] Speaker A: And Rickard. [00:09:12] Speaker D: And Rickard. One's still alive. [00:09:15] Speaker A: One is still alive and unconscious. And one escaped before the fight really broke out. And then there was a refined voice that was congratulating you on your victory. [00:09:27] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, I forgot about him. [00:09:28] Speaker C: What did he say? [00:09:31] Speaker A: He said, I don't remember exactly. [00:09:35] Speaker D: Like, great show or good show. [00:09:38] Speaker A: Jolly good show. [00:09:39] Speaker C: Do we see someone? [00:09:40] Speaker A: Yes, on the 20ft away from you. Where there's that rubble. This wagon comes around the corner of the rubble, the sort that you kind of live out of and you cover the road. Yeah. [00:09:52] Speaker F: I don't live out of that. [00:09:54] Speaker D: You don't? [00:09:55] Speaker F: No. [00:09:56] Speaker D: Yeah, it's basically owning a house nowadays. [00:09:59] Speaker A: The first thing you probably notice about this wagon is that it's being pulled by a beetle that's about 7ft long and 3ft off the ground. [00:10:09] Speaker D: What? I'm not sure if what you're doing is intentional or not. [00:10:13] Speaker A: And driving the wagon is a six foot, seven foot, somewhere in that range. Tall frog wearing very nicely pressed uniform. A frog that looks like it's from, like, France in the 19th century. [00:10:29] Speaker C: Six foot, so, big foot frog. What's his name? [00:10:32] Speaker D: Mr. Froppy. [00:10:33] Speaker B: He's a frog, obviously. [00:10:35] Speaker A: Good show. Jolly good show, he says as he brings his wagon to a stop. Would you all care to buy anything. [00:10:43] Speaker C: You'Re really tall for? [00:10:47] Speaker F: What are you doing here? [00:10:49] Speaker A: Peddling my fine wares. [00:10:51] Speaker F: What are you in this lightly merchant in this lightly inaccessible coliseum? [00:10:59] Speaker A: So, as you've pointed out, Zafir, there isn't really anywhere in the Coliseum where he could have driven the wagon through. Like you guys climbed over a broken wall to get in here. [00:11:13] Speaker C: We don't have time for that. [00:11:14] Speaker F: Did you hop over the walls? [00:11:19] Speaker A: No, I rode in on my wagon. [00:11:23] Speaker D: Where are you from? [00:11:25] Speaker A: Outside. [00:11:29] Speaker D: What geographical location are you from? [00:11:32] Speaker A: Everywhere. I'm a man of the road. [00:11:35] Speaker F: You're a man. [00:11:36] Speaker D: Where were you born? [00:11:38] Speaker A: Well, that's getting a little personal. Why don't you buy something first? [00:11:41] Speaker D: What do you have? [00:11:42] Speaker C: I wouldn't buy anything from him. [00:11:44] Speaker D: I mean, I might not, but I'm so curious to go. You're right. [00:11:50] Speaker F: I mean, honestly, I agree with Hamir. [00:11:53] Speaker A: I have arrows. [00:11:55] Speaker F: I think we can get those in. Where are we at, Joel? [00:11:59] Speaker D: Joel. [00:12:01] Speaker B: Get those from that you have that we can't buy at the shop. [00:12:06] Speaker A: Finely crafted enchanted items. [00:12:11] Speaker C: Stop humoring this thing. [00:12:14] Speaker B: Do you have books? [00:12:15] Speaker F: May we ask his name? This is for the group here. [00:12:19] Speaker C: Feels like he's not going to answer any questions. [00:12:22] Speaker A: Well, I'm not going to go giving out my name so readily. We've only just met. [00:12:26] Speaker F: What's your shop's name? [00:12:28] Speaker A: This is just my wagon. [00:12:30] Speaker D: Your shop's name is my wagon. [00:12:36] Speaker A: Why are you all so keen on names? [00:12:39] Speaker F: We almost died. We need to know something before we die. Buy stuff and die? [00:12:44] Speaker C: Yes. Hamir is going to leave. Hamir doesn't have time for this. [00:12:50] Speaker D: You see, when you go into a shop to buy things, there's an air of trust. And your shop doesn't have a name. You haven't given us your name, and we just got done with a battle that almost killed one of us. There's no trust being established. [00:13:05] Speaker A: My, you are all very untrusting people. [00:13:09] Speaker B: It has been a long day, and. [00:13:11] Speaker E: You'Re randomly in this arena, thus not easily accessible. [00:13:14] Speaker A: I'm very specifically in this arena. [00:13:18] Speaker E: The way you got in here is confusing to me. I don't have time for this. [00:13:23] Speaker D: He could have dimension doord in very. [00:13:25] Speaker E: Common, but we're the only ones in here, so it's kind of suspicious. [00:13:29] Speaker A: Yeah, well, I just thought a group of adventurers such as yourselves, after having cleared out such a perilous vault as you've just come from, might have a little bit of jangling. [00:13:41] Speaker F: We're all going to ask the same question. How did you know that? [00:13:45] Speaker A: He looks over your shoulder at the entrance and he's like, well, I just saw you coming out of there and just thought you might have found something worthwhile. [00:13:55] Speaker F: That's a hole, not a vault. [00:13:59] Speaker D: Also, he has a point. That is just a hole. [00:14:02] Speaker F: Well, it's a door. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Well, now who's not sharing information? [00:14:06] Speaker F: I literally just told you what it was. [00:14:09] Speaker A: We all know that this is a vault of forgotten knowledge. [00:14:14] Speaker B: Actually, that is a thing we just found out about. [00:14:17] Speaker D: I apparently found out about a check on this guy. [00:14:21] Speaker A: What kind of check? [00:14:22] Speaker D: I just want to know if he's a Faye, if he's a magical thing or what his race is. Ancestry. Frog. [00:14:34] Speaker C: Yeah, but the standard frog race is small sized. [00:14:37] Speaker A: That's true. [00:14:37] Speaker F: Not eight foot. [00:14:38] Speaker A: You know that he is a Fay. [00:14:40] Speaker D: Okay. Yeah. Upon knowing that, I'm going to very cautiously be like, I think it's time we all leave and sort of like do that eyes wide open, like, follow me, please. And then start walking toward Hamir. Who's leaving? [00:15:00] Speaker A: Well, that is your decision, but should you wish to do business with me in the future, I know where to find you. [00:15:07] Speaker D: Creepy. Do we just call out your name? [00:15:10] Speaker A: No, that would be Krass. [00:15:13] Speaker F: So your name is. [00:15:17] Speaker D: Right. We'll just say Krass. We would like to buy and sell. [00:15:21] Speaker A: That would be sufficient. [00:15:24] Speaker D: Okay. [00:15:25] Speaker B: Do you have books? [00:15:27] Speaker F: Of course. [00:15:27] Speaker A: And he starts pulling out. [00:15:28] Speaker D: I'm going to grab him with my mage hand and be like, come on. And just like, tug. Come on, Uber. [00:15:37] Speaker A: And are you bringing the unconscious guy with you? [00:15:41] Speaker B: No. [00:15:41] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm dragging him. [00:15:44] Speaker A: Zafir's like, ah, somebody else to kill. [00:15:48] Speaker F: I don't always like using my talents when I do. [00:15:53] Speaker C: You don't roll high enough to eat something. [00:15:56] Speaker F: All right, I'm leaving. [00:15:59] Speaker C: I'm sorry. [00:16:04] Speaker A: And you walk away from the frog in his wagon. [00:16:07] Speaker F: Is everybody all walking away? [00:16:08] Speaker E: I'm walking away. [00:16:10] Speaker D: I'm walking away. But if he's not following with my tug, my mage hand will go away when I get within, away from 30ft. [00:16:17] Speaker C: I'm outside. [00:16:19] Speaker F: As soon as people are out of line of sight, I'm going to walk up to them, too. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Oh, I know. It's Faye, too. Okay. You're not the first thing I've seen as such, I think. [00:16:32] Speaker A: Oh, no. I can see you've had quite the engagement with the Faye in your time. [00:16:37] Speaker B: Yes. Which you can understand why it would be worrisome sometimes. [00:16:42] Speaker A: Well, yes, but it's not like you're in the goblin market now. [00:16:47] Speaker B: No, not really. But I can understand their reasoning. And what are those books that he pulled out? Just taking a look at them. [00:17:00] Speaker A: Most of them appear to be written in sylvan, but they do seem to be like historical volumes. [00:17:07] Speaker B: These are very tempting. I will not lie. But not even I will take all risks, I think, until I know you better. Well, perhaps we will see each other again. [00:17:21] Speaker A: I wish you the best of travels. And apparently, we do have a method of contacting each other should you change your mind. Crass though it may be. [00:17:31] Speaker B: Actually, if I may ask, between the two of us, what is your name? [00:17:38] Speaker A: What's yours? [00:17:45] Speaker B: Just smiles knowingly and walks off cheerio. [00:17:50] Speaker C: As Albert yells, uber, get up. [00:17:54] Speaker F: Zafir creeps around the corner of the. [00:18:00] Speaker C: Stayed. He stayed. [00:18:02] Speaker F: Hello, Crafts. [00:18:05] Speaker A: That's not my name. But what can I do for you? [00:18:07] Speaker F: You didn't tell us your name. [00:18:11] Speaker D: We gave it to you as a gift. [00:18:13] Speaker F: We told you your name. [00:18:17] Speaker C: Sooner you accept it, the better. [00:18:20] Speaker F: I'd like to know, do you have any arrows? [00:18:26] Speaker A: But of course. And he pulls out a bundle of arrows and another bundle of arrows that appear to be made with, like, a different kind of wood. And he's just, like, pulling out all these different varieties of arrows. [00:18:37] Speaker F: Give me your mid. [00:18:42] Speaker A: He picks up a bundle of arrows in the middle of the lineup and passes it over to you. [00:18:46] Speaker F: How much? [00:18:47] Speaker A: That'll be one silver piece per ten. How many bundles would you like? [00:18:52] Speaker F: Two. [00:18:53] Speaker A: He passes you on. [00:18:54] Speaker F: How much is in a bundle? [00:18:55] Speaker D: 1002 bundles is 20 arrows. [00:19:01] Speaker F: It works for me. These aren't going to kill me, are they? [00:19:05] Speaker A: Well, of course they could. But it would be very unfortunate. Very unfortunate indeed, should your own arrow be your cause of demise. What? [00:19:18] Speaker F: I enjoyed the way you put that. [00:19:21] Speaker D: However you did no, you should get one. [00:19:25] Speaker A: Just a tiny little top hat. [00:19:26] Speaker C: That's disappointing. [00:19:29] Speaker A: Just a tiny little top hat. [00:19:34] Speaker C: Let's all leave the stupid Faye frogman. [00:19:37] Speaker D: Everyone but Uber or Zafir has followed you so many days. [00:19:42] Speaker C: I know. [00:19:43] Speaker F: I appreciate your patronage. Now, may I know your name? [00:19:48] Speaker A: No. [00:19:49] Speaker F: All right. I'll call you Krass whenever I need you. [00:19:52] Speaker D: Next. [00:19:53] Speaker F: Goodbye. [00:19:54] Speaker A: I wish you the best of travels. [00:19:57] Speaker D: So, as I say, we did give him that name as a gift. So is the gift we get back being able to summon him? [00:20:05] Speaker A: Possibly. [00:20:11] Speaker E: Anyway. [00:20:13] Speaker F: I just walk away and walk out to find you guys. [00:20:19] Speaker D: I've got arrows now. You could have you can use your. [00:20:23] Speaker E: Bow for something other than flavor. [00:20:25] Speaker F: I could have, but I didn't. [00:20:28] Speaker D: Dealing with Faye is very tricky. [00:20:31] Speaker C: Outward, you seemed fine, expecting an answer. But do you know where I can drop this man off? [00:20:36] Speaker D: Yeah, and I explain how to get to a local police thing. The town center hall, wherever the jail. [00:20:47] Speaker B: Is kept a town guard. [00:20:48] Speaker C: Did anyone want to ask him questions before I took him there? [00:20:52] Speaker E: I thought you guys had questions for him. I was just going along with it. [00:20:56] Speaker F: I don't I feel like he just needed the mask or help. [00:21:00] Speaker C: He knows something about that king. But this is obviously just one of the bandits we dealt with earlier. I doubt he knows anything. [00:21:08] Speaker D: It's a question for him. [00:21:09] Speaker C: All right. Take him. [00:21:12] Speaker D: I would prefer if I'm just going to push him back to you. With the mage falls down splat. I tap his face with the mage hand. Just hello. [00:21:26] Speaker E: Tentacle arms. [00:21:27] Speaker D: I could do you know where you're at? [00:21:36] Speaker A: I'm imagining satavin Elmish to drink. Eh? [00:21:42] Speaker C: I'll be going. [00:21:43] Speaker A: And he starts getting up. [00:21:45] Speaker D: Hey, mirror, if you could stop him, please. [00:21:46] Speaker C: Sure. I put my foot down on his chest. [00:21:49] Speaker A: Oh, hey. Oh, no need for the roughness. And he kind of, like, was clearing the grogginess from his eyes. [00:21:55] Speaker D: What is the last thing you remember? [00:21:58] Speaker A: Oh, he's looking around at all your faces. [00:22:05] Speaker C: It'd be prudent for you to answer questions. [00:22:09] Speaker A: I remember grabbing him and then a split neck. [00:22:14] Speaker D: Okay, so you do know things. You are aware that the person that you claim to serve has been dead, right? For a long time? [00:22:26] Speaker A: Sure. [00:22:26] Speaker D: So you think okay, so he may know things. Guys, if we have questions okay, no. [00:22:32] Speaker A: I don't know anything. You should probably just let me go. [00:22:34] Speaker D: It's either you answer, or one of my compatriots kill you. I can't stop them. I tried before. [00:22:38] Speaker F: No, it's true. [00:22:39] Speaker A: Recount, you're madman. [00:22:43] Speaker C: Start with your fingers, if you'd prefer. [00:22:45] Speaker A: No, they're pretty much sane, I assure you. [00:22:49] Speaker D: I don't want you to die. I want to take you to the jailhouse. [00:22:54] Speaker A: That sounds like a good plan. Let's do that plan. All in favor of going to the jailhouse, say aye. [00:23:00] Speaker F: We don't learn anything if we do that. [00:23:02] Speaker D: Oh, come on. [00:23:03] Speaker A: Be a good lad. Play along. Aye. [00:23:05] Speaker F: Nobody said I was a good lad. [00:23:07] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:23:09] Speaker F: I pull out my dagger. [00:23:12] Speaker B: And I'm. [00:23:13] Speaker F: Just going to hold it against his throat. Tell us what you know about the helmet. [00:23:19] Speaker A: I don't know nothing about the helmet. Ricard, he was supposed to get the helmet. He knew where it was going and what it was. [00:23:27] Speaker D: What helmet? Do we have a helmet? [00:23:30] Speaker F: The one that they yelled for. [00:23:31] Speaker D: Right, but he is wearing a helmet. But I don't know. [00:23:34] Speaker C: How long have you been involved? I push down a little hard. [00:23:43] Speaker A: Both of you, Sam and Petite, who are, like, specifically being aggressive to him. One of you can roll the primary intimidation check, and the other one can aid. And Jenkins, you can aid diplomacy. [00:23:57] Speaker C: I have a plus nine. [00:23:59] Speaker F: I have a plus six. [00:24:01] Speaker C: Okay. [00:24:01] Speaker F: Intimidation. [00:24:02] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:03] Speaker F: Dang, why is my intimidation so low? [00:24:05] Speaker C: I thought my charisma is plus four. [00:24:07] Speaker B: If you're not a charisma base, I do with diplomacy. [00:24:11] Speaker D: With a 21. [00:24:14] Speaker F: It doesn't do any your primary since you're nine. It doesn't do anything with my help. [00:24:19] Speaker D: Well, what do you get? Because he can adjust the intimidating. [00:24:22] Speaker F: I rolled a one. [00:24:23] Speaker A: Oh, a natural one. [00:24:24] Speaker F: Natural one. [00:24:25] Speaker D: My plus one does nothing now. [00:24:27] Speaker A: So a critical failure on an aid makes it harder. So they balance each other out, and it's just the result of Hamir's, which is 26. Nice. So that is a success. And he kind of just looks you in the eye and is just like my whole life. [00:24:48] Speaker C: I thought you were one of those bandits on the walkway. [00:24:52] Speaker A: Bandits? [00:24:52] Speaker C: Oh, you are one of them. Didn't you learn last time not to deal with us? [00:24:57] Speaker A: Well, when you're using bloody spells to turn Jimmy against us, well, that is. [00:25:02] Speaker B: Kind of why you shouldn't have missed with us in the first place. We kind of let you off on that. [00:25:06] Speaker C: We gave you a chance, and then you squandered it. [00:25:09] Speaker A: We didn't have record last time. [00:25:11] Speaker D: Also. [00:25:11] Speaker B: Well, he's dead. [00:25:13] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:25:14] Speaker C: All of them are dead. [00:25:15] Speaker D: You're the only one left not to pick hares here. We didn't turn him against you. He just had tea. [00:25:20] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:25:21] Speaker F: What were the names of all of the people we don't need? [00:25:24] Speaker C: Well, actually, there was one guy that ran away. [00:25:27] Speaker B: Guys? [00:25:27] Speaker C: Oh, yeah? [00:25:29] Speaker D: Who was the guy that ran away? No, don't tell him that they ran away. [00:25:34] Speaker C: No, he doesn't. [00:25:34] Speaker A: He was unconscious. [00:25:35] Speaker D: No, he ran away at the start of the battle. [00:25:38] Speaker C: Don't know. [00:25:38] Speaker B: He got away. [00:25:40] Speaker A: I don't know who you're talking about. [00:25:42] Speaker C: Yes, you do. [00:25:44] Speaker B: It was your original loser. [00:25:46] Speaker F: Knife goes closer in. [00:25:48] Speaker A: Oh, I know who you're talking about. It's all coming back to me now. Clear as day. [00:25:52] Speaker F: Thank you, Uber. You got him to say that with whatever you said. [00:25:57] Speaker A: That was a new kid. I didn't know his name. [00:26:01] Speaker B: What do you mean, new kid? [00:26:03] Speaker A: He wouldn't tell us. He kept himself all masked up. [00:26:06] Speaker B: A new kid that could command all of you? [00:26:08] Speaker D: Well. [00:26:11] Speaker A: Grandmaster took a shining to him. How am I supposed to know? [00:26:14] Speaker B: Wait, grandmaster? [00:26:15] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:16] Speaker C: Who's that. [00:26:21] Speaker A: Not going to tell you. [00:26:22] Speaker C: That I pushed down on his ribs. [00:26:24] Speaker A: Oh, that's the sore spot. Yes, that goal all agitated. [00:26:29] Speaker F: Does he look like a frog at all? Your Grandmaster. [00:26:35] Speaker A: Hardly complimentary, but he is a bit up in the ears. [00:26:39] Speaker C: All right, how about this? Maybe we would leave you alone if you told us where we could learn more. [00:26:46] Speaker A: What do you want to know? [00:26:48] Speaker C: Well, where can we go to learn more? Where's? Like a headquarters or a training area? Or where does your bosses live? [00:26:57] Speaker A: You think I just rat on my own family? [00:26:59] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:03] Speaker B: I do. [00:27:05] Speaker C: If you value your life. I imagine you would. [00:27:09] Speaker A: No, not against Sam. You can do what you want to me. [00:27:14] Speaker C: I can do a lot. And I pull out my chalice and he sees like the fog reaching out. Like tendrils reaching out of the drink. I can make you drink this. [00:27:25] Speaker A: Oh, it's really nasty. [00:27:27] Speaker C: Yes, it is. [00:27:29] Speaker B: You're right. [00:27:31] Speaker C: Would you like to try some? [00:27:35] Speaker A: That's right cruel of you. [00:27:37] Speaker C: Yes. Just as cruel as it was to try to ambush and kill a group of expeditioners. [00:27:43] Speaker A: It's for the greater good. You don't know what you're meddling with. [00:27:46] Speaker D: Then tell us what we're meddling. [00:27:47] Speaker C: Maybe this is for the greater good too. [00:27:50] Speaker A: That doesn't make sense. [00:27:52] Speaker B: Here's the thing, though. You see, we wanted to talk first. Remember I said, could we not talk? And you declined. Or Riker. Declined. Or Riker, whatever his name was. [00:28:06] Speaker A: Riker. And the new guy, they says they're bloodthirsty. They take what they need. There's no talking with them. [00:28:12] Speaker B: But I started it. [00:28:15] Speaker C: Surely you know that. That's not true. We talked and got out of a combat with you last time we ran into you. [00:28:22] Speaker A: Well, when you turned Jimmy on us. [00:28:24] Speaker D: He messed with his head again. He had tea. He didn't specifically fight against Say that. [00:28:29] Speaker B: He was alive after that. Yes. And you were all alive after that? Yes. We didn't fight. [00:28:36] Speaker A: You weren't the same in the head after it kept going on about it. [00:28:42] Speaker C: Until he saw her tentacle app. [00:28:48] Speaker E: Wait, has it been over a minute since? [00:28:51] Speaker A: Yeah, it would be over a minute. [00:28:52] Speaker B: Then they're not if he was unconscious before that happened, they're not there anymore. [00:28:56] Speaker D: I feel like him going on is more to do with nothing we did. But his mental state let us see. [00:29:06] Speaker B: If we were bloodthirsty. Yes. And we took only what we wanted. Yes. [00:29:11] Speaker A: You might hold somebody at knife point and tell them talk or they die. [00:29:15] Speaker B: Well, it is unfortunate that you got yourself in this situation. You clearly were not prepared for discussion. You decided to choose violence, and this is the result of your choice. But we are giving you a third chance. Yes, a third chance that you can help yourself and perhaps help us along the way to find Eorad. [00:29:44] Speaker A: You'll find him. [00:29:46] Speaker B: That is the idea. [00:29:47] Speaker A: You'll find him when he comes back as king. [00:29:50] Speaker D: Oh, so he is dead? [00:29:52] Speaker A: No, he's not dead. [00:29:54] Speaker D: Oh. You said come back as and I thought it was like Necromancer. [00:29:56] Speaker A: He's not here right now. Not here? [00:29:59] Speaker D: I just thought it was Necromancy. [00:30:00] Speaker F: Your grandmaster is Garrid. [00:30:07] Speaker A: No. [00:30:09] Speaker D: So your grandmaster is not ERID. But ERID isn't here. And you sure it's not going to be Necromancy? [00:30:17] Speaker A: Why are you so obsessed with Necromancy? [00:30:19] Speaker D: I'm not sure. [00:30:20] Speaker A: Be worried you kill my friend? [00:30:22] Speaker D: No. ERID is dead. He's been dead. [00:30:24] Speaker C: I can bring people back from the dead. [00:30:26] Speaker A: That's what I'm worried about. [00:30:27] Speaker C: I've done it several times. [00:30:29] Speaker F: I'm just going to skip over that. We just want to know why you were trying to kill us. [00:30:34] Speaker A: You had the helmet, whatever that is. I don't know what's on the helmet. [00:30:37] Speaker D: Had the helmet. [00:30:38] Speaker A: I don't know one of you has it. [00:30:40] Speaker D: We don't have a helmet. [00:30:40] Speaker B: Well, no. Do you know who had the helmet? [00:30:43] Speaker F: Well, we're all wearing armor. [00:30:45] Speaker D: I'm not. [00:30:45] Speaker E: Speak for yourself. [00:30:46] Speaker C: I'm actually wearing a helmet. [00:30:48] Speaker A: I don't know, maybe it's his helmet now. It's not. [00:30:51] Speaker F: Your ACS must be low. [00:30:53] Speaker C: If it were his helmet, then surely to the helmet in his backpack that he didn't tell anyone he took. [00:31:01] Speaker A: You see, mechanically, in this system, if you attempt to take something off someone's person during a combat encounter, the attempt automatically fails. [00:31:07] Speaker C: All right, Nerd, I'm going to break your finger. [00:31:10] Speaker D: Hold on. That's only if you're not a rogue with the thief class. [00:31:14] Speaker A: I'm not a rogue with the thief class. [00:31:16] Speaker D: Well, that's your problem, isn't it? [00:31:17] Speaker C: Can any of you heal him with a spell? [00:31:19] Speaker D: No. [00:31:20] Speaker B: That is unfortunately, outside of my okay. [00:31:23] Speaker A: Rygard was good at that. [00:31:25] Speaker C: All right, buddy, can I escalate this? [00:31:28] Speaker D: No. Wait, are you going to punch him or hit him with a dead dagger? [00:31:32] Speaker C: I'm not going to punch him or hit him. [00:31:34] Speaker D: Oh, then, yeah, feel free. What does that just don't kill him. [00:31:37] Speaker C: I'm not going to kill him. [00:31:38] Speaker D: Yeah, then that's fine. [00:31:39] Speaker B: All right. [00:31:39] Speaker C: I pull out my heel scroll. [00:31:42] Speaker F: This is the opposite. [00:31:43] Speaker C: This is my only heel scroll. So keep this in mind. All right? I can't do this more than once. [00:31:49] Speaker A: Do what? [00:31:51] Speaker C: So my one hand out his chest and the other hand clumps down on his wrist, and I pull out my axe. Did I get ready to swing with it down to chop his hand off. [00:32:06] Speaker A: Okay, so what is it that you want to know that will make you stop me? I want my hand. [00:32:13] Speaker B: Perhaps we can find a way to talk to your leaders. [00:32:18] Speaker D: I think our primary thing that we want to know is, as Uber said, we want to know who your leaders are so we know who to keep an eye out for. [00:32:26] Speaker A: So I've told you can't tell you who they are. [00:32:28] Speaker D: Well, then I guess. [00:32:33] Speaker B: I am a reasonable man. Or dwarf. Actually, I am a very reasonable dwarf. I am willing to speak to your leaders if we can meet in a news row area just to figure out what is behind us. [00:32:49] Speaker A: So you're saying you chop off Me hand or I'll tell you where to find everyone that I know and love to go talk to them. [00:32:57] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, we may not even want this helmet. There's clearly been a misunderstanding. We don't have a helmet. And if we do, we may not. Want it. [00:33:05] Speaker C: We're just going to put you in jail if you cooperate. [00:33:08] Speaker F: I don't think you should. I think that Hamir should take his hand. [00:33:12] Speaker D: I think you need to walk away. [00:33:18] Speaker B: It is unfortunate that your friends died due to bad choices. And that riker. I understand. He seemed to care for you all. [00:33:29] Speaker D: Yes. [00:33:30] Speaker B: He tried to save you. Yes. [00:33:33] Speaker D: They cared? Yes. [00:33:35] Speaker A: Yeah, he's my uncle. [00:33:37] Speaker B: Then it is such a shame I'm. [00:33:40] Speaker D: Sorry for your loss. [00:33:42] Speaker B: That they all died to false information. [00:33:46] Speaker F: Are these people all your actual blood family? [00:33:49] Speaker A: Of course they are. [00:33:50] Speaker F: What's your last name? [00:33:53] Speaker A: Ayerid Son. [00:33:55] Speaker D: Oh, that makes sense. So your great great great grandfather was king once? [00:34:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:07] Speaker D: And you think he's still alive? Yeah. Is he an elf? [00:34:11] Speaker A: No. [00:34:11] Speaker D: Is he a dwarf? [00:34:12] Speaker A: No. [00:34:12] Speaker D: Is he some sort of extraplaneal being? [00:34:15] Speaker A: No, he's a human. [00:34:16] Speaker D: And he's still alive. Are you sure this has nothing to do with Necromancy? [00:34:20] Speaker A: Don't know. I don't know his business. [00:34:22] Speaker B: Have you ever met him? [00:34:24] Speaker A: No, of course not. [00:34:25] Speaker B: Has anyone? You had not ever met him? [00:34:28] Speaker C: Well, so at this point, Hamir is kind of shaken a bit and he starts kind of reaching for his chalice and then stops. And then he lets out a big sigh and mist starts coming out and some mist starts coming out of his eyes. And then he chops down. [00:34:46] Speaker A: What's he doing with. [00:34:55] Speaker B: It is a shame. [00:34:57] Speaker F: Were you going to heal him? [00:35:00] Speaker C: He looks like he was out of it for a minute and then he's back and he's yes, yes. And I cast heel. [00:35:11] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:35:12] Speaker C: And I heal him. Five hit points. [00:35:14] Speaker A: I'm alive, but I'm still missing an ant. [00:35:16] Speaker F: Can I cauterize his arm? [00:35:17] Speaker D: The heel spell takes care of oh, okay. [00:35:20] Speaker C: Amy is still kind of shaking and then kind of walks away for a minute. [00:35:24] Speaker A: You're all a bunch of bloody lunatics. [00:35:26] Speaker D: To be fair, we did tell you that would happen. It is regrettable that it did. I would prefer to have solved this without any violence or any mutilation to your body, but it sounds like something major is happening and if we can either stop it or make it to where it doesn't affect us, that would be best. And you're not being helpful. [00:35:49] Speaker B: I must go after my friend there. But it would be best to speak now because I don't know what will happen after I walk away and I have not hurt you. [00:36:01] Speaker F: I do still have the dagger against his throat. [00:36:04] Speaker C: You had to be very careful not to throw his throat forward. What do you got to say? [00:36:09] Speaker A: I'll just say you guys are really good at keeping the dagger exactly where it needs to be. But the whole time, after all this, he's just kind of looking at his hand now, not really paying much attention to you all. [00:36:20] Speaker F: What hand? [00:36:21] Speaker A: The one that's still sitting on the ground. [00:36:22] Speaker B: Is it not attached? [00:36:23] Speaker A: So it takes restoration to put body parts back on. [00:36:26] Speaker C: Yeah, I just cured the stump. [00:36:28] Speaker D: Yeah, he just has a stump now. [00:36:30] Speaker C: And I told him I only have one of these. [00:36:34] Speaker B: I have a question for you. [00:36:35] Speaker D: Okay, little man, I'm going to walk away. [00:36:39] Speaker B: I have a question once. And Aunt Uber stoops over and picks up the hand and puts it in his lap. [00:36:48] Speaker D: Wait, you mean on his legs? He's laying down unless he sat up. Well, no, because he has a dagger again. [00:36:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:36:53] Speaker D: So he's placing it on his I'm. [00:36:55] Speaker F: Kind of sitting on his chest area. [00:36:58] Speaker C: Which is I moved my hand. Zephyr was like, OOH, a seat. [00:37:03] Speaker F: By the way, this whole time, I'm just beaming. [00:37:05] Speaker A: You place the hand in his vision. [00:37:08] Speaker B: In his vision, yeah. And I arrange it a little bit just so it doesn't fall off. You see, I think that your family has lots of connections. Yes, sure. And I think that somebody in your family can probably help you with this hand. [00:37:29] Speaker A: Yes, sure. [00:37:30] Speaker B: Exactly. And honestly, you must believe me because I am not normally a violent person. I want this to happen. I want you to be whole again. Yes. [00:37:47] Speaker A: Right. Okay. [00:37:49] Speaker B: I merely want to speak with somebody from your family. I only want to talk. [00:37:55] Speaker A: Yeah, not going to happen. You just cut me bloody hand off. [00:37:58] Speaker B: Yes. [00:37:59] Speaker A: Cutting anybody else hands off. [00:38:00] Speaker F: You have another hand. [00:38:02] Speaker D: I think what he's saying is, instead of taking you to the jailhouse, we can take you to your family. That can assist you in putting your hand back on. [00:38:11] Speaker A: Yeah, no, you're not cutting any ball hands off. You can cut my hand off. I'm not telling you where my family is. [00:38:17] Speaker B: No, you understand. You misunderstand. You see? [00:38:20] Speaker A: No, you must understand. You're a bunch of bloody lunatics. [00:38:24] Speaker B: We're going to take you we're going to take you to the jail. [00:38:29] Speaker A: And I gave you a little bit of information, but ask him where my family is and who they all are. Just going too far. [00:38:35] Speaker B: I think you misunderstand. I say we take you to the JLLs. [00:38:39] Speaker D: Yes? [00:38:40] Speaker A: Right. You tell them what happened to me. [00:38:44] Speaker B: And your family will come take you. [00:38:46] Speaker D: Out to the jail house. [00:38:47] Speaker B: Yes. Because I do not think that they would be able to hold you. [00:38:49] Speaker A: And I'll tell them what happened to me. [00:38:51] Speaker B: Yes. And whenever they come for you, we will be there to meet them. [00:38:57] Speaker D: I'm going to grab Uber and pull them aside and have a little POW wow and be like, Uber. We don't know how long that's we're on a time schedule here. We have to be back by the end of the week. [00:39:09] Speaker B: No, you do not understand. [00:39:10] Speaker D: No, you do not understand. We are contractually obligated to be back by the end of the week. Otherwise we don't get paid. [00:39:17] Speaker B: This is more important. [00:39:19] Speaker D: No, it is. Not all of us need to be back. [00:39:23] Speaker B: Why? [00:39:24] Speaker D: I suppose that does make sense if you want to stay, but then you'll. [00:39:26] Speaker B: Be by yourself, why don't you just send a message that says that we are unable to bring the stuff because of reasons? [00:39:34] Speaker D: That's not what I'm worried about here. [00:39:37] Speaker B: This is far more important. You don't understand. [00:39:39] Speaker D: You do not understand. How is this more important? It's just some dude with his lunatic family cold no. [00:39:43] Speaker B: Do you not understand? It is the key to everything. [00:39:46] Speaker D: No, it is not. It is a random man with a family cold. [00:39:49] Speaker B: No. We need to find two century old. [00:39:52] Speaker D: Old man still alive and kicking the. [00:39:55] Speaker B: Sigs that are going on. The things in that library. What happened in there? What happened to me? [00:40:02] Speaker D: I don't know. What happened to you? You didn't tell me. [00:40:05] Speaker B: I don't know either, but the knowledge leads to him. Do you not understand? [00:40:11] Speaker D: No, I don't. Clearly. I'm just saying I don't think this is that important. [00:40:15] Speaker B: And he just goes off in Dwarvish about how the young are, so I. [00:40:22] Speaker D: Go off in Dwarven. I can understand you. Am I unsupervised? [00:40:28] Speaker A: I think it's just Neros and Zafir with this guy. Right. [00:40:31] Speaker E: Which, to be honest, leaving us too unsupervised. [00:40:33] Speaker D: I can still see. [00:40:35] Speaker B: Yeah, we're right next. We're just like, over a little bit. [00:40:38] Speaker C: Yeah, but we can shot of you two yelling in the background. We see what those two are up to. [00:40:42] Speaker A: Honestly, though, I think that UVair and Alward are very distracted right now, so they might witness whatever you two decide to do, but they won't necessarily be able to interfere. [00:40:55] Speaker D: We're just yelling and dwarfish at each. [00:40:58] Speaker F: Other in just one quick movement. I'm going to take my dagger, stick it in my boot, flash a smile at Neros, grab his face, push it down on the ground, jump up, grab him by the shirt and just start dragging him towards town. [00:41:13] Speaker A: Okay. [00:41:14] Speaker D: That was a lot of actions, but very cool. [00:41:18] Speaker F: We're not in combat. [00:41:19] Speaker D: No, I didn't mean I meant, like a lot of stuff happening. Yeah. One and two. [00:41:25] Speaker F: I really thinking this whole time what I'm going to do, and I'm just going to start dragging him. [00:41:30] Speaker E: It's not what I thought you were going to do, but thank you for not killing him. [00:41:35] Speaker F: Oh, we've got our bit of violence out for the moment. [00:41:40] Speaker D: I feel like upon seeing him move, I'm not going to stop arguing with him. I'm just going to walk along behind him, still arguing with him along the way. [00:41:51] Speaker F: How tall is this guy? Because I'm like four foot tall, so I'm just tall enough. [00:41:59] Speaker B: Did you make sure the hands coming with you? [00:42:02] Speaker F: This one is Lap. [00:42:03] Speaker A: Why is oh, God, it's in me. And the other end. [00:42:05] Speaker D: Why is that child dragging that man? [00:42:08] Speaker F: Don't worry about it. [00:42:09] Speaker A: It's like 510. [00:42:12] Speaker B: How tall are you? [00:42:13] Speaker F: I can grab him. I'm like four something. [00:42:17] Speaker D: Decent. Decent. [00:42:19] Speaker A: He's officially small. As you begin leaving the arena and dragging this guy towards town. As soon as you start getting into more populated areas, the guy just starts yelling and screaming, help. [00:42:34] Speaker E: Ignore him. [00:42:35] Speaker F: I'm just holding my hand up, kind of. Just don't worry about it. Don't worry about it. [00:42:40] Speaker D: I'm going to as soon as we get into it and he starts yelling, I'm going to be like, we need a guard and try to find a guard. [00:42:48] Speaker A: Yeah, it doesn't take too long for you to find one, but the people around are a bit perturbed. [00:42:53] Speaker D: I'm then going to explain the guard like, okay, we went into this area and then these guys just appeared, yelled about a helmet, started to attack us. Most of them were dealt with. He's alive. We were just trying to drop him off to the right. People, they cut me hand off, but. [00:43:07] Speaker A: They cut me hand off. [00:43:09] Speaker D: Things happen in combat. It happens. I am very UNSAT about that. But we did heal his wounds to try to make sure he can survive. And we're sorry. [00:43:20] Speaker A: The garden ODS. And he's like, right, we'll take him in. We'll take care of it from here. Do you have any more information you'd like to have put down for the record, the other bodies. [00:43:34] Speaker D: There are more bodies in the coliseum pit. They're dead. [00:43:41] Speaker A: Was that a question mark? [00:43:43] Speaker D: I mean, necromancy exists. We just left and the dude yelling about his hand was yelling about how two century old man is still alive and kicking. So that that has to be you know what I mean, right? [00:43:57] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely. Sounds like a loon, right? [00:44:00] Speaker D: It makes no sense. Anyway, here you go. Catches them like a bear. [00:44:10] Speaker B: Here's the hand. [00:44:12] Speaker E: You can do it. [00:44:13] Speaker B: Actually, he's holding onto the hand. [00:44:15] Speaker A: Yeah, that's right. [00:44:16] Speaker F: Do you need a hand? [00:44:17] Speaker D: If you can get him to a priest, reattach it. [00:44:20] Speaker A: I mean, that's expensive. [00:44:21] Speaker D: It is expensive, but I think his family is good for it. [00:44:24] Speaker A: Well, that'll be between them. Off to the guardhouse. [00:44:29] Speaker D: Bye. Bye. So they're going to let him go, right? [00:44:33] Speaker F: Did we ever catch his name? [00:44:35] Speaker D: His last name was ord son. As in son of eridson. As in son of the I should. [00:44:42] Speaker F: Have wrote it down on him. [00:44:43] Speaker D: Why would writing it down on him do anything? [00:44:45] Speaker F: Well, just in case I saw him. [00:44:47] Speaker D: I feel like we would recognize him if we saw him again. [00:44:50] Speaker F: What if they reattach his hand? [00:44:52] Speaker D: I feel like we would recognize his face. [00:44:57] Speaker F: I just remember him crying. [00:44:59] Speaker D: Can you not recognize faces? [00:45:03] Speaker F: People are hard to read sometimes. [00:45:07] Speaker B: UVair is going to try and just notice where the guardhouse or the guard is going. [00:45:14] Speaker A: He's heading towards the center of town, presumably to the guardhouse. [00:45:18] Speaker B: There's the house. [00:45:19] Speaker C: Center of town. [00:45:20] Speaker D: Where that guard's going? [00:45:21] Speaker B: I think we should follow. [00:45:24] Speaker D: I don't want to do that. Yeah. [00:45:27] Speaker B: Okay. [00:45:28] Speaker D: I want to start studying these books. [00:45:30] Speaker F: We could head back to Salazar. [00:45:33] Speaker D: I mean, we do need to Uber. [00:45:35] Speaker B: Is already walking towards or the same direction as the guard. [00:45:39] Speaker C: Also, I'm not here, in case anyone forgot. [00:45:43] Speaker D: Wait, where'd you go? [00:45:44] Speaker C: I walked away, and then you guys leaving? [00:45:47] Speaker A: So UVair, Alward, Neros, and Zephyr brought this now dismembered prisoner back into town, dropped him off of the guard. UVair is following after the guard just to make sure that he takes that prisoner where he ought to. And the three of you are still here in town. What's Haymir been up to this whole time? [00:46:10] Speaker C: He is walking through the town, clutching his backpack a little tighter, and he's like, It's not going to work. It's not going to know. I know. It's worth a shot, I guess, but I don't think it's going to work. Yes, well, Uber might have a better idea. You're right. Yes, I understand. But that thing took control. That wasn't okay. [00:46:33] Speaker B: That wasn't all right. [00:46:34] Speaker C: It's not supposed to do that, but yeah, I know. I just got to get back to the room, and we'll give it a shot. Are you happy? You happy? [00:46:42] Speaker D: Yes. [00:46:43] Speaker C: Thank you. All right. And we see him just muttering to himself as he's going through town, taking, like, alleys and stuff back to the inn, to his room that he's rented out. And then when he gets back to his room, he pulls out of the backpack first, the helmet he found in the expedition, and he sets it on the floor in the light, and he's tapping, thinking. He's pacing. He draws, like, a circle and chalk around it. He's not sure what to do. He's thinking. He grabs the bag, and he's got this lump that's all covered in all sorts of gauze and stuff he has, and he starts undoing it all. And we see the head of Rickard. He's like, I don't think this is going to work. I don't think it's going to work. And he picks up the helmet. [00:47:43] Speaker D: And. [00:47:43] Speaker C: Puts it on the head in this little circle of jock, and he's just kind of looking at it to see if something happens. [00:47:53] Speaker A: And we'll cut back to the other three. [00:47:58] Speaker D: So it's my understanding that you all have a room in town. [00:48:06] Speaker F: I forgot that you weren't with us. It's been, like, four weeks. [00:48:09] Speaker D: It has been a minute. It hasn't been four weeks, but it has been a minute. [00:48:14] Speaker F: Hold on. Oh, yes, it has been a minute. [00:48:18] Speaker D: 1 second. I cast time since I concur. [00:48:24] Speaker F: So where did everyone else go? [00:48:29] Speaker D: UVair seems to be very intimately following that guard. [00:48:35] Speaker F: Should we go with him? [00:48:39] Speaker D: I'm going to go home. We're in droll. Still, right? [00:48:43] Speaker C: Yes. [00:48:43] Speaker D: Yeah. I'm going to go home and study the books that I got, see if I can't decipher any of the languages. [00:48:50] Speaker F: Can we come with you? I don't really feel like going back to a room right now. [00:48:57] Speaker D: An offer is always on the table. [00:49:00] Speaker F: I do have a wonderful I'm coming with you. [00:49:07] Speaker D: If anybody asks you're one of my bodyguards. Four foot tall man. [00:49:16] Speaker B: Okay. [00:49:18] Speaker D: Please don't interact with my sister too much. [00:49:22] Speaker F: Okay. [00:49:24] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:49:28] Speaker A: Anyway, what's near us doing. [00:49:32] Speaker C: Anyway? [00:49:33] Speaker F: Would you like to come with us? [00:49:34] Speaker E: No, I don't I really would rather not. [00:49:36] Speaker F: You're just going to stay? [00:49:37] Speaker D: My mom is making stew again. [00:49:40] Speaker E: That's fine. I don't want to come with you. [00:49:43] Speaker D: I would prefer none of you meet them, so that's fine. [00:49:48] Speaker F: What kind of stew? [00:49:50] Speaker D: It's potato. I like potato with some pork chunks. [00:49:56] Speaker C: I thought he was going to do this the first night, and I'm shocked it took him this long. [00:50:00] Speaker D: I did the same. I do like it because Alwin's very obvious. Like, please don't. [00:50:08] Speaker C: But it's at the end. [00:50:09] Speaker D: I know. [00:50:11] Speaker B: How can you say no to that face? [00:50:13] Speaker D: I mean, Alwood wouldn't say no regardless, but also my landlord's a little, you'll see. Anyway, I guess we'll meet tomorrow. [00:50:28] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:50:28] Speaker D: If you meet the others, please tell them to meet in the tavern. [00:50:32] Speaker E: I'm going to swear I'm going right now. Okay. [00:50:34] Speaker F: At exactly 600. [00:50:38] Speaker D: I don't care when we meet. [00:50:39] Speaker E: We'll meet whenever we meet. [00:50:40] Speaker F: 900. [00:50:43] Speaker D: How about just before noon? [00:50:45] Speaker F: 1159. I'm sorry. My stomach just made a sound. [00:50:50] Speaker D: It's because you're thinking about the stew. [00:50:53] Speaker F: Potato and pork. [00:50:58] Speaker A: Meanwhile, gouver. You are following the guard. [00:51:03] Speaker B: I am. [00:51:04] Speaker C: Intimately. [00:51:06] Speaker B: I am not. [00:51:08] Speaker D: You're right up on him, hand in. [00:51:10] Speaker A: Hand, walking down the street. [00:51:12] Speaker D: No, I think I met intently, intensely, something that's similar. [00:51:22] Speaker A: You are following the guard in a tent with intent. [00:51:26] Speaker D: With intent? [00:51:27] Speaker C: With intent to follow. [00:51:29] Speaker B: Cartoon bush? [00:51:31] Speaker D: No, cartoon tent. [00:51:34] Speaker A: And as you might expect, they go up to the guardhouse and enter. [00:51:42] Speaker B: Is there entrances to the guardhouse? [00:51:46] Speaker A: There just seem to be, like, a side entrance. [00:51:49] Speaker B: I go to an area that I can watch both entrances and just sit and wait. [00:51:58] Speaker A: About 15 minutes pass 20 minutes pass. 25. Just about a half an hour afterwards, the guard comes back out by himself and starts walking off. Are you attempting to hide yourself? [00:52:14] Speaker B: I'm standing, like are there crowds around? [00:52:17] Speaker A: Yeah, there's a few people around. It's not, like, super crowded, but it's not empty streets. [00:52:22] Speaker B: I'm mostly just in a corner. Not really hiding, but just trying to blend in about, like, just hanging there. [00:52:30] Speaker A: Got you. The guard does not seem to notice and just begins walking back down the street to where you originally found him. [00:52:37] Speaker B: Got you. I don't follow him. [00:52:39] Speaker C: So no one's going to clean up the mess in the arena. [00:52:43] Speaker D: I mean, they're dead bodies in a space where nobody should go anyway and. [00:52:48] Speaker A: Leave them for the vultures? No, the frog man. [00:52:54] Speaker F: And then he sells them. [00:52:55] Speaker A: Presumably the guard would have reported it, but it takes a little bit of time to get all the stuff pulled together. [00:53:01] Speaker B: Uvea's going to continue watching both entrances. [00:53:05] Speaker A: Okay. Back in the inn in Hamir's room, in the center of the circle, there's a head with a helmet? [00:53:17] Speaker C: Yes, in chalk. [00:53:18] Speaker B: You can't forget the chalk. [00:53:20] Speaker C: It's a chalk circle. [00:53:21] Speaker A: A chalk circle? [00:53:22] Speaker F: Chalk zone. [00:53:23] Speaker B: They can only see. [00:53:26] Speaker A: Are you attempting to interact with this at all, or are you just waiting for a bit? [00:53:31] Speaker C: I'm waiting. If something happens after, like, ten minutes, I'm going to try and push on it with my poke it with my Thomatur abilities to see sense, try and get a sense of what this is, why it's important, if it's even doing anything. [00:53:50] Speaker A: So, like poking it with a stick? In a psychic sense, yeah, I guess. [00:53:54] Speaker C: The lore with my Esoteric lore or something, I guess that needs to be, like, Esoteric lore. Recall knowledge or something. I don't know. I'm not sure. [00:54:02] Speaker A: Just what's your Esoteric lore bonus? [00:54:06] Speaker C: Eleven. [00:54:12] Speaker A: You know that there are some rituals or oddities or legends or something that might be involved with this, but you're not getting any sense that the helmet's having any effect on the head. [00:54:26] Speaker C: Does it seem magical at all? [00:54:30] Speaker A: Without any magical assistance, you are not able to determine whether or not you think it's magical? [00:54:40] Speaker C: That or my curse. Lore don't really do anything with this. [00:54:43] Speaker A: Not with this. [00:54:45] Speaker C: Can I just attempt, I don't know, an arcana or an occultism or something? [00:54:52] Speaker A: This is an OD position. [00:54:55] Speaker C: I don't know. I'm just trying to get some sense about it to see. [00:54:58] Speaker D: I mean, you could take it to basically one or three magic friends to. [00:55:02] Speaker C: It to see if it has any reaction to anything. I try. [00:55:09] Speaker A: I don't think that there is a way rules has written to know if something is magical without using magic. [00:55:16] Speaker C: Then I will attempt to hit it with my crowbar really hard. [00:55:21] Speaker A: Okay. [00:55:22] Speaker C: I'll take it off of the head. [00:55:23] Speaker A: Okay. Don't want to find out how good it is at defending things. [00:55:27] Speaker C: No, I want to see what happens. It's usually magical. The head is enchanted. Items wouldn't just crumple in the same way a regular steel helmet would. [00:55:38] Speaker A: It seems as resilient as you might expect from a magical item. It doesn't seem to be damaged at all from the blow. [00:55:44] Speaker C: Okay, I'm going to put the head in a trunk, I'm going to put the helmet back in my bag, and I'm going to go try and find Uber. [00:55:53] Speaker A: All right? Meanwhile, Neros, do you think you've made it back to the tavern by this point? [00:55:59] Speaker C: It's been, like, 30 minutes. [00:56:00] Speaker E: Actually, Retcon, I don't want to go to the tavern yet. What time of day is it? [00:56:07] Speaker A: Five or six in the evening. [00:56:08] Speaker E: Is the library still open? [00:56:10] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:56:10] Speaker E: I want to go there. [00:56:12] Speaker B: What? [00:56:13] Speaker E: I'm going to this library. Leave me alone. [00:56:17] Speaker D: Nerd, says the nerd. Are you going to the restricted section? [00:56:24] Speaker F: No, I had you looking in the wrong section. [00:56:29] Speaker D: Got to make some still the jerks. [00:56:31] Speaker A: So you return to the library, and it's the same lady at the desk as was there yesterday. Only a day ago, when you guys first came by the library. [00:56:40] Speaker D: Okay. [00:56:41] Speaker A: And she's like, oh, you're back. [00:56:43] Speaker E: Yeah. Question for you. [00:56:47] Speaker A: Yes, of course. [00:56:47] Speaker E: Did you happen to find anything about what we discussed last time I was here? Do you remember me? [00:56:52] Speaker A: Actually, yes, I do. [00:56:54] Speaker E: Okay. [00:56:55] Speaker A: And she pulls out, like, a little notebook that she's got, and she's like, where she keeps track of these little projects and such. And she's like, no, I wasn't able to find any more. I was through, though. Through my searches, I was able to find it does seem odd. I sort of was wondering about when we were first looking into it almost a week ago. It just seems the information we're looking for has just been removed. [00:57:28] Speaker E: Has it now? [00:57:30] Speaker A: Impossibly so right, of course. [00:57:38] Speaker E: Well, I appreciate your time into looking for it. [00:57:42] Speaker A: I'm sorry. I can tell this was very important to you. [00:57:45] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:57:49] Speaker D: Same mom. [00:57:49] Speaker E: All right, well, thank you. [00:57:51] Speaker D: Of course. [00:57:51] Speaker A: And I will keep my eyes open. If I find any more information, I will make sure to note it down for you. Still the same address as before for news, actually. [00:58:02] Speaker E: I'm sure found my way back here at some point, so just keep it on hand. [00:58:06] Speaker A: Very well. [00:58:08] Speaker E: Thank you. She leaves. [00:58:14] Speaker C: Abby does not look happy with this answer. [00:58:17] Speaker B: You have no idea. Wait, you do have an idea. [00:58:21] Speaker D: I don't. [00:58:22] Speaker C: Good. You shouldn't. [00:58:24] Speaker B: Yep, not yet. [00:58:25] Speaker D: Good. I don't want it. [00:58:30] Speaker E: Now. I go to the tavern. [00:58:34] Speaker D: This is nice music. [00:58:36] Speaker C: Don't comment on the music. [00:58:38] Speaker D: We're at a spot. It's fine. [00:58:40] Speaker B: I'm sorry. [00:58:40] Speaker D: It's so calming. [00:58:43] Speaker A: Meanwhile, at the Voldent house. [00:58:47] Speaker F: Is that your last name? [00:58:48] Speaker D: Yes. [00:58:51] Speaker C: I have Volden at least 30 times. [00:58:56] Speaker D: Yeah, been quite often. [00:58:57] Speaker F: Do you know how many notes I have? [00:58:59] Speaker C: No. [00:58:59] Speaker D: Seven. [00:59:00] Speaker F: I even have the names of the drinks I had from the bar, whatever it was. [00:59:04] Speaker C: Oh, yeah? What were they? [00:59:08] Speaker F: The fuffle shuffle, the amber nugget and the witch's brew. [00:59:11] Speaker C: The fuffle shuffle. [00:59:12] Speaker F: Oh, the fuffle shuffle at the Volden house. [00:59:16] Speaker C: What are you guys doing? [00:59:19] Speaker A: I don't know if you guys. [00:59:22] Speaker D: Like alward is walking to the door and he realizes he hasn't been greeted by his landlord, and he's just so thrown back. He's like, Wait, something doesn't feel right. And then he just goes into the door, unlocks, and it's like let me introduce you first before you just walk into the house. [00:59:46] Speaker F: But I'm your bodyguard. I figure I should go everywhere with you without explanation. [00:59:50] Speaker D: It's my house. [00:59:52] Speaker F: Exactly. [00:59:56] Speaker D: None of my family were expecting guests, actually. And then I'm going to press the digitation him to clean him up, and I'm going to press digitation myself to clean myself up. [01:00:08] Speaker F: Can I repress the digitation myself to unclean myself? [01:00:14] Speaker D: It does soil stuff. [01:00:15] Speaker C: It does soil stuff. [01:00:17] Speaker F: How dare you? [01:00:18] Speaker D: You're not allowed in the house looking like you just murdered a man. And I pressed an invitation. Him again. The apartment. My bad. [01:00:32] Speaker F: Okay, fine. [01:00:33] Speaker D: And then I open up the door, and I'm like, hello? Is everyone home? [01:00:40] Speaker A: Your mother is okay, but your daughter is. [01:00:44] Speaker D: I don't have a daughter. [01:00:46] Speaker C: Surprise. [01:00:47] Speaker D: I told you not to make me my father. [01:00:51] Speaker F: You're your own father? [01:00:53] Speaker A: Sounds like plot twist was revealed early. [01:00:56] Speaker C: That changes a lot. [01:00:57] Speaker D: You had one rule, Jordy. [01:01:02] Speaker C: Anyway, take that one from the top. [01:01:05] Speaker E: Wow. [01:01:08] Speaker A: Your mother? [01:01:11] Speaker D: No, your mother. No, you don't understand. Start with my sister. How about that? [01:01:21] Speaker A: Yeah. Your sister seems to be out right now, but your mother is in. [01:01:26] Speaker D: Okay. Mom, I brought home a guest. He will be staying with us the night. [01:01:32] Speaker A: Oh, is this a friend from work? [01:01:34] Speaker D: You can say that. They've been hired on as some muscle, so to speak. Zephyr, would you step in? [01:01:46] Speaker F: I step in, and I look up at her. I'm the bodyguard. [01:01:52] Speaker A: Well, you do look capable of defending. She's looking at your rapier, your dagger, your bow. [01:02:00] Speaker D: He was staying at the end, but I told him about the stew, and he decided he wanted to spend the night, if that's okay. [01:02:06] Speaker A: Oh, of course. There's always room for your friends, Alward. [01:02:10] Speaker F: I heard there was pork and potato. [01:02:14] Speaker A: Yes. It'll be done soon. [01:02:16] Speaker D: Where's my sister? [01:02:17] Speaker A: Oh, she just ran out to the market to grab a last few things before dinner. [01:02:21] Speaker D: Of course. And Alward is, like, very conflicted because he wants to go into his room so he can study, but he doesn't want to leave Neros out. Sorry. Zephyr out here alone, so he's just sort of stuck. I'm going to be at the kitchen table if you need me. [01:02:49] Speaker A: All right. Dinner will be ready in about a half an hour. [01:02:52] Speaker B: Okay. [01:02:53] Speaker D: And then I'm going to basically all the books that I grabbed that weren't on the shopping list and even some that were. That map, which we have a physical copy of and has writing on. I want to know what the writing says. What does that writing say? [01:03:07] Speaker A: Just, like, little notes about what seems to have been a travel from that way of witches, took a fairy, stuff like that. [01:03:16] Speaker D: Fairy. You suck. And then I'm going to bring out my personal journal and start taking notes on the language so I can try and learn it. [01:03:27] Speaker C: Too bad it all looks like chicken scratch. [01:03:29] Speaker D: No. [01:03:32] Speaker A: So you're trying to learn the ancient Thessalonian okay. [01:03:37] Speaker F: Did you leave me, like, in the front room? [01:03:39] Speaker D: I assumed I dragged you into the. [01:03:40] Speaker F: Kitchen, but drag me? [01:03:43] Speaker D: Yeah, that's fair. You're much stronger than I am. Yeah. I left you in the front room on my way to the kitchen. I'm like, make yourself not at home, but comfortable, and go to the kitchen. [01:03:55] Speaker A: Table, as Albert says that and walks off. His mother looks at you and goes, make yourself at home. [01:04:02] Speaker F: I carry myself very well. I stand up straighter than normal. [01:04:09] Speaker D: Four foot one now. [01:04:10] Speaker F: So, Mrs. Volden, what is your name? I was never made aware. [01:04:17] Speaker A: The name is Velia. [01:04:18] Speaker F: Pleased to meet Velia. Oh, so you've got the alliteration going on. Velia Volden? [01:04:25] Speaker A: Well, it was a bit of an accident, but I do think the names sound good together. [01:04:30] Speaker F: So is Mr. Volden around? [01:04:35] Speaker D: Do I hear that? [01:04:37] Speaker A: I would imagine so. It's a pretty small house. [01:04:39] Speaker D: I immediately, like, abruptly, as loudly as possible, stand up from the table, walk over, grab him and drag him into the kitchen. [01:04:49] Speaker A: What? [01:04:49] Speaker F: I just want to meet the man of the house. [01:04:54] Speaker D: You're looking at him. My father's been dead for many years. [01:04:59] Speaker F: How many is many? [01:05:01] Speaker D: Many. [01:05:05] Speaker F: I'm sorry for your loss. [01:05:09] Speaker D: Please do not bring him up again. [01:05:12] Speaker F: I'm sorry. [01:05:14] Speaker D: Especially to my mother. Their loss, our loss. It's a family dynamic. Do you not have one? [01:05:22] Speaker F: Not for a very long time. [01:05:25] Speaker D: I'm sorry for your loss. Now, please, just sit at the table and wait for dinner. [01:05:34] Speaker F: I don't like this, but okay. [01:05:39] Speaker E: No, you don't understand. [01:05:41] Speaker D: You don't understand, and I'm going to go check on my mom and make sure she's not, like, having an attack of any sort. And she's okay? [01:05:52] Speaker A: She seems to be okay. It's definitely still a spot of grief for her, but it's an old grief, and she's mostly worked through it. [01:06:00] Speaker D: Okay. [01:06:01] Speaker B: I thought you were flirting with her for a second. [01:06:04] Speaker D: My mother? That's what I figured. [01:06:05] Speaker F: You all well, I figured everybody thought that. That's why I kind of explained with that. I just wanted to meet the man of the house. [01:06:12] Speaker D: No. [01:06:13] Speaker A: Meanwhile, Uber, how long would you think you'd want to wait around without seeing anything? Watching that guard post? [01:06:22] Speaker C: I can interrupt his watch. [01:06:25] Speaker D: Yeah, okay. I'll go with that. [01:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah. So, Uber, you've been at this guard's post watching about a half an hour ago was when the guard left. And you're still kind of keeping up your vigil, maybe starting to have second thoughts about how much profit is there sticking around when Hamir shows up. [01:06:46] Speaker C: Well, the first thing is you feel a chill run through you. As for a second, you see the mysterious man that you met briefly, and then it fades away. And then from behind you, amy grabs your shoulders and pulls you back into the alley. Mark, I need your help in the tavern. Come on. I start bowling. [01:07:15] Speaker B: All right, let's go. [01:07:20] Speaker C: Where'd you guys go? [01:07:22] Speaker B: I followed the guard to the guardhouse to see if anyone would come get them out. [01:07:29] Speaker C: What did you do with did you put them in the guardhouse? [01:07:33] Speaker D: Yes. [01:07:34] Speaker C: I see. [01:07:36] Speaker B: I am trying to see if anybody will come get him. [01:07:40] Speaker C: Not tonight, not right now. It's too early. There hasn't even been word about him being arrested by now. Give it some time. We can watch again. Maybe tonight or in the morning. I need your help with something in my room. [01:07:55] Speaker B: What do you need? [01:07:56] Speaker C: You're good at identifying magic. I have something that you need to look. At? [01:08:04] Speaker B: Of course. What is it? [01:08:08] Speaker C: I'll show you. I can't tell you now. All right, hurry up. Hurry up. When he sort of shakily takes another sip from his chest. [01:08:18] Speaker A: We do a Star Wars wipe transition, and you're in Hamier's room, come in. [01:08:23] Speaker C: Through the tavern and where I guess near us would have noticed us walk by if she's interested. But either way, we're talking and we're going. [01:08:33] Speaker E: I mean, I do need to ask Uber something, but you're obviously busy, so I'm not going to bother you. [01:08:37] Speaker D: You also need to tell them when we're meeting. What? Oh, you're the only one with information about where the others went. [01:08:45] Speaker C: Yeah, but they're busy, I imagine. I sort of enter into the front door, rambling about nonsense to a bear as we start walking up the stairs. I think it's on the second floor, right? Or was I on the first floor? [01:08:58] Speaker A: Second floor. [01:08:59] Speaker C: I was on the second floor. Didn't you get a room, too? Weren't we neighbors in the inn? [01:09:05] Speaker E: I have no idea. [01:09:07] Speaker C: Yeah, I think we were. So anyway, what just happened? What did you guys do? [01:09:16] Speaker F: The GM should not be sending memes during recording time. [01:09:20] Speaker A: I didn't realize that was going to send a notification. I wasn't thinking about it. [01:09:25] Speaker C: So we enter the room, and it doesn't smell great in the room, and you see a circle of chalk in the middle of the room. I throw my back down on top of this trunk, and I pull out the helmet. Is it magical? What does this do? And I toss it to you. [01:09:54] Speaker B: He kind of reflexively grabs it and looks at it and goes, is this what I think it is? [01:10:00] Speaker C: I imagine so. They came after us, and I've had that since the expedition. Yeah, it was in front of that statue. [01:10:15] Speaker B: He immediately just stops listening to you. [01:10:17] Speaker C: Actually, the two kids saw it, so they might actually know I have it. I don't think they paid attention. There was a lot going on. [01:10:26] Speaker B: Uber is not paying attention to you. He's immediately poring over this helmet. Is there any writings, anything on it? [01:10:37] Speaker A: I don't think that there's any form of inscription on the helmet. [01:10:41] Speaker B: No, nothing. [01:10:43] Speaker C: While he's doing that, Haymir is going to spread around like, some herbs and stuff to help the room smell better. [01:10:50] Speaker D: It stinks, right? [01:10:51] Speaker F: Rotting head. [01:10:52] Speaker C: I wasn't wearing that. I thought about wearing it's. [01:10:55] Speaker F: A shampoo commercial got dead. [01:10:57] Speaker C: I spent some time testing, and nothing seemed to come of it. And I know it's magical in some way, but I don't know. [01:11:03] Speaker B: What did you try to test it with? What did you try so far? [01:11:07] Speaker C: I tried pushing on it with my abilities. I tried hitting it with a crowbar. [01:11:13] Speaker D: I very mad head in it. [01:11:15] Speaker C: But nothing seemed to really work. [01:11:18] Speaker B: Just kind of looks up at the you put a head in it. [01:11:22] Speaker C: I move my bag off the trunk and open the trunk. Then I pull up Ricard's head and I put it in the circle. They were telling me that maybe it would be a good idea to try something to see what it might do. And I didn't think it would be a good idea. [01:11:40] Speaker B: But they told you that. [01:11:42] Speaker C: Well, something did. I felt this thing to do it anyway. After I lost control, I went out there and I felt this pole to do something like this. [01:11:53] Speaker B: Did they say shot? Did they say they don't say anything on their head. [01:11:58] Speaker D: They don't talk or put it on. [01:12:01] Speaker C: I've tried to put it on before and nothing happened. I've worn it before. I'll need to clean it before I try it on again. [01:12:15] Speaker B: But that would be better, I think. But perhaps let me concentrate a little bit. And I don't have any appropriate spells. [01:12:27] Speaker C: Do you not have a detective magic or read aura? [01:12:30] Speaker B: I have read aura, yeah. Let me try this. And I set down the helmet. Or I sit down and I start concentrating on the helmet with Ridora. I always forget to have that. [01:12:45] Speaker C: Where are the others, by the way? [01:12:48] Speaker B: I don't know. [01:12:49] Speaker D: I fucked away before. [01:12:50] Speaker C: Not surprising. [01:12:52] Speaker A: So, after a minute of concentration, you finish casting Raid aura and you learn that the helmet is magical and has traces of conjuration and divination magic. [01:13:06] Speaker B: Oh, it is magical. Yes. But I don't know if I know how to activate it. [01:13:18] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:13:19] Speaker A: Why don't you make an arcana check? [01:13:23] Speaker C: Would it help if I wore it? [01:13:27] Speaker B: Let me try. [01:13:28] Speaker C: Okay. I double dabble these things. I dabble in esotericism. I don't dabble in this level of knowledge. [01:13:37] Speaker D: How does a 30 was that a natural 20? [01:13:41] Speaker B: No, that was a 19. [01:13:42] Speaker D: Oh, no. [01:13:43] Speaker C: Eleven. Level three. [01:13:45] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:13:45] Speaker C: Experts. [01:13:46] Speaker D: Oh, I forgot about that. [01:13:47] Speaker C: We're experts in some things now. We didn't talk about our level up. [01:13:50] Speaker B: Can I? [01:13:50] Speaker D: Yeah, we did character shoot. We did bad. [01:13:52] Speaker A: I'm not disbelieving your result. There's something I want to check for, and I don't want to say what I'm looking for. [01:13:56] Speaker B: Most definitely. [01:13:57] Speaker C: We definitely didn't talk about how we leveled up. [01:13:59] Speaker D: Yeah, we really didn't. [01:14:00] Speaker C: But this is like a downtime episode. So we can wait till next yeah. [01:14:02] Speaker D: We can wait till next time. [01:14:04] Speaker E: Hi. [01:14:05] Speaker A: With your extensive research in arcana and your years of study, you know that there is an element of like what's the word? General word for it? Animation magic that would allow this helmet to move on its own. But there's also a lot more going on and that you can't unravel. We'll call that partial information on a failure. [01:14:36] Speaker C: This is a high level item. You failed with 30. [01:14:39] Speaker B: I failed with the highest roll next to a natural 20, which, if you. [01:14:43] Speaker C: Would have got a natural 20, would have been 31. You didn't have a success. Yeah, because something I have dubious knowledge. [01:14:54] Speaker A: That's what I was looking for. [01:14:56] Speaker C: Dubious knowledge. [01:14:57] Speaker B: I'm going to try that. [01:15:01] Speaker A: Okay. [01:15:03] Speaker C: So Sven has motioned at his phone screen. [01:15:06] Speaker D: He has no idea what's going about a thing. [01:15:08] Speaker C: He wants to try something. [01:15:10] Speaker B: I don't know if Jordy noticed that. [01:15:11] Speaker A: I had oh, I knew you had that. You would like to trick this magic item. [01:15:15] Speaker B: I have trick magic item. [01:15:17] Speaker C: I almost took that. [01:15:18] Speaker D: I'm going to trick this. [01:15:19] Speaker B: Tell me your secret. [01:15:21] Speaker A: So, from the way that that ability is written, you would know that the DC to trick the item would be in the same neighborhood as the DC to identify the item. [01:15:32] Speaker B: I don't know if there's a downside to this. [01:15:35] Speaker A: Depends on the item. [01:15:37] Speaker D: Sorry. I tried to get everyone's attention, but it happened too fast. [01:15:42] Speaker A: You tried to get our attention and then you succeeded. [01:15:47] Speaker C: I don't know if that's worthwhile dude, that might be a problem for later if you try to it's true. All right, let's try not to get too hasty. I tried to break it and it didn't work. [01:16:00] Speaker B: I actually think it is good that you didn't. [01:16:03] Speaker C: Well, break I mean, if they wanted it and we broke it, then they'd probably leave us alone. [01:16:08] Speaker B: Or he could destroy the town. [01:16:12] Speaker C: I think I'm more okay with that than you are. [01:16:15] Speaker B: Well, it would also destroy you. [01:16:18] Speaker C: Yeah. I know you learned a lot about me today. I can't say you're that surprised. [01:16:28] Speaker B: And sadly, I don't think I am surprised. But anyway, I am still glad that you didn't the crowbars. Is there like a basin in there or water. [01:16:41] Speaker A: Sure. Yeah, sure. [01:16:45] Speaker B: Let's just try and he just cleans it out as best he can because it doesn't have precedentation, unfortunately. [01:16:55] Speaker C: We can't clean. [01:16:59] Speaker B: This is dangerous if we try this. [01:17:02] Speaker C: Do you want me to get some alcohol? You desensitize it. [01:17:07] Speaker D: Desensitize it? [01:17:09] Speaker C: That's not the word I was sanitize it with alcohol. [01:17:13] Speaker D: Sanitize it? You don't want to desanitize it. [01:17:18] Speaker C: You know what I meant. [01:17:19] Speaker D: Depending on how it's used. [01:17:22] Speaker C: I know alcohol is good for cleaning things. [01:17:26] Speaker B: It is fine. You said you've already tried it. [01:17:29] Speaker C: A while ago, but I didn't really know it was magical at the time. [01:17:33] Speaker B: I shouldn't have done anything. I could try it. I could see if I could it activates somebody who's more in tune. [01:17:43] Speaker C: We've done a lot to your brain today trying to push it more, but. [01:17:49] Speaker B: It could provide answers. [01:17:51] Speaker C: Fair enough. I'll be watching in case something bad happens. [01:17:54] Speaker D: We've done a lot to you. [01:17:55] Speaker C: I don't think I'm going to lock the door. [01:17:57] Speaker D: Shit. Okay. [01:18:02] Speaker A: So you put the helmet on? [01:18:04] Speaker D: Yes. [01:18:08] Speaker C: What if you're one of these a deer sons? [01:18:15] Speaker A: As soon as this full bucket helmet slots over your head, you feel all of your runes begin to glow brighter until they start to have a burning sensation. [01:18:28] Speaker C: I'm going to pull out my axe just to be safe. [01:18:33] Speaker A: And this episode? [01:18:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:18:38] Speaker A: Zero point. I'm voting Zafir. [01:18:42] Speaker D: Because he came to my house or because he didn't kill a guy because. [01:18:46] Speaker A: He didn't kill a guy. [01:18:47] Speaker F: He didn't kill a guy. [01:18:48] Speaker B: You're right. [01:18:48] Speaker A: He had some really cool scenes. I love the bit at the vault. [01:18:56] Speaker F: So this is just the absolute best for me. But it's called reverse strike play. After you fail an attack role, you get a success on the attack roll rather than a failure. There's literally no negative to it. [01:19:11] Speaker B: That is awesome. [01:19:13] Speaker F: So I really appreciate this. So I'm going to go and not flirt with Jenkins mother. [01:19:19] Speaker D: You mean Volden's mother? [01:19:21] Speaker F: No, yours. [01:19:24] Speaker A: All right, and we'll see you all in the next episode. This has been an Atomic Broadcasting production pathfinder. Galerian and the Lost Omens world setting are copyright of Pizzo. [01:19:58] Speaker C: All right. 30 seconds of quiet. [01:19:59] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:20:01] Speaker F: Is it because of the toilet? No, cause Sam went pee pee. [01:20:07] Speaker D: We're not supposed to talk about it. All right. [01:20:09] Speaker C: Five minutes of silence.
