Episode Transcript
[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part. Such as, like, comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time.
[00:00:32] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off?
[00:00:35] Speaker A: Ah, yes.
[00:00:39] Speaker B: While Alward Neros and Zephyr dealt with their eldritch temporal assailants, Uvair and Val teleported back to Joel to reunite with the party.
[00:00:55] Speaker C: In a squishy world.
[00:00:56] Speaker D: Come on, Neros, let's go party.
[00:01:00] Speaker E: Come on, Neros, let's go party.
Come on, Neros, let's go farther.
[00:01:11] Speaker D: That would be so out of character for Neros.
[00:01:14] Speaker C: The party.
[00:01:15] Speaker D: No, not the partying bit. Just her being in the background going,
[00:01:17] Speaker C: oh, if that feels like that's about right. With tentacle arms.
[00:01:24] Speaker E: Hey, we're all back at the table.
[00:01:26] Speaker A: We are.
Hello, you strange people.
[00:01:30] Speaker D: I've missed most of you.
[00:01:33] Speaker E: I've missed most of you. Who did you not miss, Jenkins?
[00:01:36] Speaker D: Well, I can't miss you or petite, because I played with you.
[00:01:39] Speaker E: That's true.
[00:01:40] Speaker F: You can still miss us.
[00:01:41] Speaker D: I guess it's more fair to say I missed least of you because the other two people.
[00:01:48] Speaker B: Sam, why are you looking at me like I put a weird picture?
[00:01:51] Speaker C: Are you trying to get me to talk about it?
[00:01:53] Speaker B: No.
You don't have to.
[00:01:55] Speaker C: I'm not going to talk about it. Nobody talk about it. It's not worth it.
[00:01:57] Speaker F: I don't even see it.
[00:01:58] Speaker E: What is that?
[00:01:59] Speaker C: Don't worry about it.
[00:02:00] Speaker E: I'm worried about that.
[00:02:02] Speaker C: Don't. Don't play into Jordy's weird feelings.
[00:02:04] Speaker F: I don't even know how to talk about it.
[00:02:07] Speaker E: I couldn't talk about it even if I wanted to.
[00:02:10] Speaker D: 8.5 out of 10.
[00:02:12] Speaker F: All I can say is it looks like the COVID for the movie. Nine. No. Is that six or nine?
[00:02:18] Speaker D: I said this once before. We gotta stop talking about things people can't see.
[00:02:24] Speaker C: What are you talking about?
[00:02:24] Speaker A: Everyone can't see.
[00:02:27] Speaker E: We'll post it on the discord.
[00:02:28] Speaker C: Listen, 80% of what we say we're gonna post, we don't post. And nobody calls us out.
[00:02:33] Speaker E: Whose fault is that?
[00:02:33] Speaker C: The audience. Because they don't call us out on it.
[00:02:36] Speaker E: Don't blame our audience.
[00:02:37] Speaker C: It's all the audience.
[00:02:38] Speaker E: Don't. Do not blame our audience. I am with the audience.
[00:02:41] Speaker D: I'm going to blame the audience.
[00:02:43] Speaker E: Guys, we cannot blame our audience.
[00:02:45] Speaker D: We can.
[00:02:47] Speaker E: That's so unfair.
[00:02:49] Speaker C: Tell us to post things that we forget to post.
[00:02:52] Speaker D: Verbally attack us in the Discord.
[00:02:55] Speaker E: Oh, my God.
[00:02:55] Speaker C: Always at no, please don't.
[00:02:57] Speaker F: I'll cry.
[00:02:57] Speaker A: Hey, given that a few people that have joined our Discord and you know who you are, they will do that.
[00:03:04] Speaker C: They haven't said anything yet.
[00:03:05] Speaker E: Yeah, they've said nothing. They didn't even introduce themselves.
Carl just welcomed.
They went into the abyss.
[00:03:13] Speaker A: Judgment.
[00:03:13] Speaker C: They might as well not even be here.
[00:03:14] Speaker A: Judgment.
[00:03:16] Speaker E: We only say this because we know them.
[00:03:18] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:19] Speaker C: Personally, I'm always happy to see people join the Discord, whether they're active or not.
[00:03:23] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:03:24] Speaker E: That is true.
[00:03:25] Speaker A: Genuinely.
[00:03:25] Speaker C: But it's got your guys fault. You need to tell us.
[00:03:29] Speaker A: Here's the thing. Here's the thing. I hope even if you are a lurker, and trust me, I know what how that is, I am in Discord servers, that I am just a lurker. If you are, I hope you get some enjoyment out of our good morning chats.
Because they are wild sometimes.
[00:03:46] Speaker C: Lurkers are cool.
[00:03:47] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:03:48] Speaker D: What milkshake's that?
[00:03:49] Speaker A: Jamocha.
[00:03:50] Speaker D: Ooh, sounds good.
[00:03:52] Speaker A: Arby's. Great.
[00:03:53] Speaker D: Because I've been staring at it like ever since he's walked in.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: It's coffee and ice cream.
[00:03:58] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:04:00] Speaker F: Sounds like a toilet nightmare.
[00:04:02] Speaker B: So.
[00:04:04] Speaker F: I'm sorry.
[00:04:05] Speaker D: I'm not sorry.
[00:04:07] Speaker E: I mean, you write, probably.
[00:04:10] Speaker C: Have you listened to Svens a new Diet?
[00:04:11] Speaker E: That's so funny.
Just be careful because the toilet seat is splintered right now.
[00:04:20] Speaker B: We need money for studio.
[00:04:22] Speaker E: It's Sven's fault.
Jordy. Take it. Take, take it. Take the banter away.
[00:04:28] Speaker B: So in between recording sessions, we were just hanging out and playing a regular game just for fun.
[00:04:34] Speaker E: What?
[00:04:35] Speaker C: Without me?
[00:04:36] Speaker B: You were out of town.
[00:04:38] Speaker C: Actually, you were gone. I was in Ohio.
[00:04:41] Speaker B: And while we were playing, I started going off on a topic and everybody said, stop. Save it for banter. And here we are.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: Yes. And I am quite curious about.
[00:04:53] Speaker D: I was there.
Yeah, I don't remember this.
[00:04:57] Speaker B: So everybody's got something that they are very opinionated about.
You know, some people are like, you know, McDonald's versus Wendy's. Other people are like Star Trek versus Star Wars.
You know, sometimes it's not averse though. Sometimes it's just like, hey, this thing's really important to me and I care about how it's presented. You know, sometimes people are like, you know, hey, it's really important to me that time travel follows reasonable rules. And other people are like, if your time travel makes sense, it's not fun.
[00:05:27] Speaker C: Dang it. I haven't brought Bill and Ted for everyone yet.
[00:05:29] Speaker F: Wait, now I remember because I was that person.
[00:05:32] Speaker B: I think for me, the thing that I care about is dragons.
[00:05:36] Speaker C: Oh, not your wife.
[00:05:44] Speaker A: I don't know. Some days.
[00:05:47] Speaker B: Let me rephrase that.
For me, the thing that doesn't really matter, that I care about is dragons.
[00:05:56] Speaker D: I don't even know what to call that. It's like shots fired, but it really wasn't fireball.
[00:06:04] Speaker B: I have an irrational need for dragons to be epic, amazing and cool creatures.
So much so that media that presents dragons as being small, pathetic, weak, or boring just makes me upset.
[00:06:24] Speaker A: So don't watch Mulan.
[00:06:25] Speaker C: Do you have an example?
[00:06:26] Speaker B: Mulan is okay.
[00:06:27] Speaker E: No, no, no, no. Because there's something else.
[00:06:30] Speaker B: There is. I have a prime example. Mulan is okay because in Mulan, they say dragons are cool and amazing. Mushu wants to be a real dragon.
[00:06:40] Speaker A: Oh, that makes sense.
[00:06:41] Speaker B: So they're acknowledging that he's not a real dragon.
[00:06:44] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:06:46] Speaker C: What about D War 2 Mysteries of the Dragon? Do you remember that?
[00:06:49] Speaker B: I do. That's okay. It's not good. It's okay.
[00:06:53] Speaker C: Okay, cool.
[00:06:53] Speaker D: Jenkins, what about shows that have baby dragons?
[00:06:57] Speaker B: Baby dragons are okay because they grow up into real dragons.
[00:07:00] Speaker F: What about real life Komodo dragons?
[00:07:03] Speaker B: They're just large lizards that are named after dragons. I will give you a prime example of what is not an okay dragon.
[00:07:09] Speaker C: Oh, okay. Thanks.
[00:07:10] Speaker B: If anybody has seen the TV show, the children's TV show Dragon Tales, how dare you?
[00:07:16] Speaker F: That is literally an entire world of mates.
[00:07:19] Speaker B: They're all pathetic.
[00:07:20] Speaker F: That's like saying if we aren't all Chuck Norris, I will argue then we're all pathetic.
[00:07:25] Speaker C: I don't know how I feel about it.
[00:07:26] Speaker D: All of them are not pathetic.
[00:07:27] Speaker C: Dragons superiority thing.
[00:07:30] Speaker D: Because they all have magic.
[00:07:31] Speaker F: That's true.
[00:07:32] Speaker A: They don't do anything with it.
[00:07:33] Speaker D: They. They. Every episode they do. I've only watched one.
[00:07:37] Speaker C: That group ran a train in a race.
[00:07:39] Speaker B: Okay, so has anybody read the book the time machine by H.G. wells?
[00:07:43] Speaker D: Yes, I think that's on my to do list.
[00:07:45] Speaker C: I've seen the really old movie.
[00:07:46] Speaker B: Okay, so you know how he goes into the future and humanity is split into the evil but effective half and. And the nice looking but completely useless half?
I want to know where the Morlocks of Dragon Tales are. What is living underground that's actually making society work and preys on these pathetic, useless dragons on the surface of the ground?
[00:08:11] Speaker D: I feel like I need. Don't make me watch Dragon Tales just to, like, know if I agree with you or not, Please.
[00:08:19] Speaker B: So I started telling a story, and this is where you guys told me to stop and like, save this for a banter topic. Once upon a time.
So our editor, Jacob is my brother.
[00:08:31] Speaker C: What?
[00:08:31] Speaker F: We were 120. Wait, I don't know how many. Never mind.
[00:08:35] Speaker B: We were at our grandmother's house one day, he comes over, wakes me up, and he's like, jordy, Jordy, I've got to show you something. And I'm like, oh, what is this? So I get up, follow him downstairs into the living room, where on the TV is Dragon Tales.
And I'm just like, I could kill you right now.
[00:08:55] Speaker D: Wait, how old were you?
[00:08:56] Speaker B: I would have been like, 11.
[00:08:58] Speaker C: I need you to have a debate with Olivia about dragons.
She's also very big on dragons.
[00:09:05] Speaker B: We should do that on an Atomic Chat.
Hi, everyone. Editor Jacob from the future here. I'm here to tell you that this debate actually did happen. Since recording this episode, it happened on the Atomic Chat livestream, which happens every first Monday of the month. We have the archive of that debate up on our YouTube channel, and I will link that in the description below, so you guys can go check it out. Because it was a lot of fun. I thought it was great. And anyway, I'll let you get back to the episode.
[00:09:34] Speaker A: Absolutely.
[00:09:34] Speaker C: I don't have to be there.
[00:09:36] Speaker A: You're the moderator.
[00:09:39] Speaker C: Make sure it doesn't get too heated.
[00:09:40] Speaker B: You're the one who's like, five minute recession.
Review your sources.
[00:09:44] Speaker C: We're here to talk about dragons.
[00:09:46] Speaker F: You know, that actually brings up another thought I had the other day with superpowers. Like, what makes a superpower super? Because I was listening to a podcast. They said these aliens had superpowers, but what if all of them had that power?
To them, it would just be a normal trait. It's like we have the ability to breathe air, but the fish were amazing.
[00:10:09] Speaker C: Typically, it'd just be something that's not the norm of an ability one can do.
[00:10:12] Speaker F: But, like, why would we call it a superpower if in their society it's not?
[00:10:16] Speaker C: Because we're very human. Centric, natural, or xenophobic?
[00:10:20] Speaker A: Because it is perception based.
[00:10:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I want to see a story about Supra Heroes.
[00:10:26] Speaker A: Superhero.
[00:10:27] Speaker B: Yeah. They have powers that are less than human.
[00:10:32] Speaker A: League of Ordinary Gentlemen. No, Remember that.
[00:10:35] Speaker D: Because they're order.
[00:10:35] Speaker C: You mean extraordinary, Less than or. Oh, you mean the college.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: I mean the college thing. League of Ordinary Gentlemen.
[00:10:42] Speaker C: Yeah.
Lamp guy or whatever.
[00:10:45] Speaker F: Over the last, like, several months, I've been playing a game called Supra World. It's. It's not done yet, but it's. It's such a good game. If you like puzzles. But that reminded me of that supra. Yeah, it's. It's about. You're in a tiny. About big world, tiny person, tiny eraser man.
[00:11:00] Speaker B: Anyway, bringing things back around, I just wanted to let you guys know, now that you're aware of my feelings about dragons.
Fafnir is a dragon.
Just to let you know, that's a type of dragon.
[00:11:13] Speaker C: Lin arms are distinctly different from dragons.
[00:11:15] Speaker E: Let Jordy tell his story.
[00:11:18] Speaker B: So you're saying that because he doesn't have wings, I need to make him stronger. Okay. Taking notes, I think.
[00:11:23] Speaker C: Do they. Don't they have wings?
[00:11:25] Speaker D: No, they just.
[00:11:26] Speaker A: Have you researched Fafnir, sir?
[00:11:29] Speaker C: I mean, yes, but unrelated to those podcasts.
[00:11:34] Speaker F: In this world, is there a difference between Drake's Dragons Dragoons? I don't know what else there is.
[00:11:40] Speaker A: I feel like Lenormes are just like a different breed of dragon.
[00:11:43] Speaker B: They're actually very different.
[00:11:45] Speaker C: I'd like to point out, too, that Geordi's seemingly ideal dragon is the type of dragon I care for the least in existence. Interesting, because I really don't care for standard fantasy dragons or, like the special character dragons. Like, I typically don't like any of them.
[00:12:00] Speaker D: Sam doesn't like.
[00:12:01] Speaker C: But also, I will dragons is left. I will also preface that I'm not really a big fantasy person, so, like, dragons are.
[00:12:09] Speaker F: What are you doing here?
[00:12:10] Speaker A: You like mech?
[00:12:12] Speaker C: I like playing this game sometimes.
[00:12:14] Speaker D: No, I like that.
[00:12:15] Speaker C: Have you seen. Have you seen Reign of Fire? I like those dragons. I think that's kind of interesting and fun.
[00:12:20] Speaker A: The Ring of Fire and the Ring of Fire.
[00:12:22] Speaker C: There's some dragons that are cool, but kind of a standard. Like, like, you hosted that dragon art of Fafnir. I.
That's like, peak. What I don't like.
[00:12:33] Speaker B: It was more threatening, to be honest. I think the other art that was kind of more boring was, like, more accurate.
[00:12:39] Speaker C: That was more Lynn Army.
[00:12:40] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:41] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:12:41] Speaker B: It's more what he actually is.
[00:12:44] Speaker A: I don't remember which one was which.
[00:12:47] Speaker C: Abby, what are your opinions on dragons?
[00:12:49] Speaker E: I don't really have any.
[00:12:50] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:12:51] Speaker E: Because I grew up watching Dragon Tales, and for me, that's a nostalgic show and Geordi hates it. And I don't care.
[00:12:57] Speaker C: I love dragon.
[00:12:59] Speaker B: I'm just kidding.
[00:13:00] Speaker C: Everybody here but Jordan, they can stay
[00:13:01] Speaker B: in that land apart as long as they want.
[00:13:03] Speaker E: Listen, I care about Jordy so freaking much, but his opinion on Dragon Tales, I'm just like, you can have that as much as you want. I will still enjoy the show.
[00:13:13] Speaker A: That is a subjective Opinion?
[00:13:17] Speaker C: How dare you?
[00:13:18] Speaker B: That's your opinion?
[00:13:19] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:13:20] Speaker D: Your opinion.
[00:13:21] Speaker C: I believe your objective opinion is very subjective.
[00:13:25] Speaker E: My. My. His. His feelings on dragons is like my feelings on horses portrayed in media.
[00:13:31] Speaker C: Well, yeah, you do get pretty great. Not crazy, riled up about that.
[00:13:35] Speaker E: I do. They have to be realistic.
[00:13:38] Speaker A: They are.
[00:13:39] Speaker E: If they're not realistic, I will throw down.
[00:13:42] Speaker F: I hate it when horses aren't portrayed realistically, especially in discords.
[00:13:47] Speaker E: Yeah, like, I hate. I hate My Little Pony with a passion.
[00:13:53] Speaker D: But they're not horses.
[00:13:55] Speaker F: They're magical.
[00:13:56] Speaker E: I don't care. They're horse enough.
[00:13:57] Speaker F: Some of them are unicorns.
[00:13:59] Speaker E: I hate them.
[00:14:00] Speaker C: Interesting.
[00:14:01] Speaker F: This side of the tables about mlp,
[00:14:02] Speaker A: we are dissing on some pretty core Spirit.
[00:14:06] Speaker E: Stallion of the Cimarron is where it was at when I was a kid.
[00:14:10] Speaker C: I'm sorry, what was that?
[00:14:11] Speaker D: The full movie title.
[00:14:12] Speaker E: Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron.
[00:14:14] Speaker D: I thought it was just spirit.
[00:14:15] Speaker E: Nope. The whole title is Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron.
[00:14:19] Speaker C: I felt like my VHS case only said spirit.
[00:14:21] Speaker D: Same.
[00:14:22] Speaker E: Stallion of the Cimarron.
[00:14:23] Speaker F: How do you spell Cimarron?
[00:14:25] Speaker E: C, I, M, A, R, R, O,
[00:14:27] Speaker F: N.
I put an S on that for some.
[00:14:29] Speaker C: I watched that movie a couple times.
[00:14:32] Speaker E: I love it wholeheartedly.
[00:14:34] Speaker A: I think it made me sad.
[00:14:35] Speaker E: It.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:14:36] Speaker E: Thank you.
[00:14:37] Speaker D: I'm just.
[00:14:38] Speaker E: That is validation that I am correct and I'm taking it and running away.
[00:14:41] Speaker A: Is that the Disney one?
[00:14:43] Speaker D: Yeah. No, it's DreamWorks.
[00:14:44] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:14:44] Speaker F: DreamWorks primarily refers to the Spanish term wild or untamed.
[00:14:48] Speaker D: As a small thing, it has a 69% on rotten tomatoes.
[00:14:52] Speaker E: That is horrible.
It deserves so much more, but. Okay.
Anyway, we have to get moving now. This is.
[00:15:03] Speaker D: Oh, okay.
[00:15:04] Speaker F: No, now that someone questions.
[00:15:06] Speaker E: Through the episode. Through the episode.
[00:15:08] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:15:09] Speaker B: I mean, I don't know how to get out of this, so I'm just gonna get out of this. Sven.
What part of Joel did Uber teleport him and Val to?
[00:15:20] Speaker A: Cerdire.
[00:15:21] Speaker B: So Cere Dire is not a location.
[00:15:24] Speaker A: You're right.
[00:15:25] Speaker E: He teleports to see his tower or Sir Dire's library.
[00:15:30] Speaker B: So you complete your teleportation ritual. You and Val disappear from where you had been, and you appear standing in a pile of rubble on the northern side of town.
[00:15:44] Speaker D: Oh, right.
[00:15:44] Speaker F: It got destroyed under the rubble or on the rubble.
[00:15:48] Speaker B: On the rubble.
[00:15:50] Speaker E: His tower no longer exists.
[00:15:52] Speaker F: Or 10ft above the rubble. Would you be 10ft above the rubble? Depending on what floor you wanted to teleport, too.
[00:15:58] Speaker A: I would have done ground floor.
[00:16:00] Speaker D: Oh, lucky.
[00:16:00] Speaker B: I don't know. Petite's really? Starting to argue for making you guys appear under Rebel.
[00:16:04] Speaker C: I can.
[00:16:06] Speaker F: Either that or 10ft above. Wait, how much damage can you take? From what height?
[00:16:10] Speaker C: 10ft. 10ft's the first time you take damage.
[00:16:13] Speaker F: I don't care.
[00:16:16] Speaker E: Please stop Sven's mouth noises all the time.
[00:16:20] Speaker D: We only like petite smell noises here.
[00:16:25] Speaker F: And saving them for later.
[00:16:28] Speaker A: Anyway.
[00:16:29] Speaker B: Anyway, you appear standing on this pile of rubble where Cere Dire's tower once was.
Pieces of bookshelf and scraps of paper pinned under rocks. And up in the sky on the eastern side of town, you see the sky castle hovering above.
[00:16:49] Speaker C: How much, like, repair work has been done on the city since last time?
[00:16:53] Speaker B: A bit. I mean, work is slow because they're focusing more on, like, finding some temporary housing and tending to wounds and stuff first. But there have been some people who've been freed up enough to start, you know, shuffling things around, moving stones, and kind of clearing space to begin rebuilding efforts.
[00:17:09] Speaker C: How long has it been? I don't remember. Two days. Just, like, since the Fafnir.
Has it just been a few days?
[00:17:17] Speaker B: I think it's been more like two or three weeks in total because there was a small skip in time from the devastation before we picked things back up for book three.
[00:17:27] Speaker C: Okay. Oh, okay, sure.
Do you know where Cyrodire is staying now?
[00:17:35] Speaker A: I would imagine that he might be staying at the castle, given his current employment, the king, but I see that the rest of our party is here.
[00:17:49] Speaker C: Where?
[00:17:51] Speaker A: Look behind you.
[00:17:52] Speaker C: What?
[00:17:53] Speaker A: This a castle?
[00:17:54] Speaker C: It is. Oh, that's what you mean. Okay, I was like, I don't see them.
Listen, I just got. You just teleported to me. I don't know where people are.
Yeah, they're at least here in Joel. Do you want to just head over to the castle, see if we can find them? Or do you need to find. See your diaper first?
[00:18:12] Speaker A: I wanted to reach the Dire for another reason, but I can meet with him later.
[00:18:16] Speaker C: I mean, I could fly you over to the where he's staying.
[00:18:21] Speaker A: I think I would rather walk. Honestly, Val, I'm just trying to sink.
[00:18:26] Speaker C: No, that's fine. It was at least faster if you needed speed. But yeah, if we want to check with the others first, that's probably a good idea. They might need to talk to see your rt.
[00:18:35] Speaker B: So I imagine the two of you kind of walk towards the castle, and as you get closer, Val, I'm imagining you once again offer to give u a lift up to the castle.
[00:18:47] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. Since it's not touching the ground right now.
[00:18:50] Speaker B: Right.
[00:18:50] Speaker C: You want Me to just fly you up or you want to take the another away?
[00:18:56] Speaker A: Uver cast levitate. I don't have that.
[00:19:00] Speaker C: Push you around like a balloon.
[00:19:01] Speaker A: Oh, wow. What do you know?
[00:19:05] Speaker D: I do have fly as a side thing. Does anybody else find it odd that u doesn't want Val touching him for some reason?
[00:19:14] Speaker A: I cast fly.
[00:19:16] Speaker D: No one. Okay.
[00:19:17] Speaker E: I didn't pay attention.
[00:19:19] Speaker F: I didn't think about it.
[00:19:20] Speaker A: I'm never going to use the spell.
[00:19:26] Speaker E: What happened?
[00:19:27] Speaker C: So Val's gonna start flying up without any wings. She's gonna start flying upwards up to the castle.
[00:19:35] Speaker A: As will Uvaire. Jack, in my style, I imagine I'm a lot slower than you, though.
[00:19:41] Speaker C: I'm 40ft.
[00:19:43] Speaker A: Yeah, way slower. You are twice as fast.
[00:19:49] Speaker B: So Neros is on her way back to her room to finish getting ready for the day because you kind of hastily threw things off.
[00:19:57] Speaker D: Neros is in a nightgown right now.
[00:19:59] Speaker E: I don't wear nightgowns.
[00:20:00] Speaker D: What are you in then?
[00:20:01] Speaker E: Probably just pantaloons and a shirt.
[00:20:04] Speaker F: About to say nothing.
[00:20:07] Speaker E: He's butt naked.
[00:20:09] Speaker D: This is.
[00:20:10] Speaker E: She's.
[00:20:12] Speaker B: I think Zafir is, like, fully dressed and ready for the day.
[00:20:15] Speaker F: Oh, yeah, totally. You know, complete suit. I even wear a corset, you know.
[00:20:19] Speaker E: Well, no, no. I mean, I did get interrupted, but then I ended up getting dressed after.
[00:20:24] Speaker D: Right.
[00:20:24] Speaker E: Because we had things to do.
[00:20:26] Speaker D: I don't remember the things.
[00:20:28] Speaker E: Wait, no, no.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: You got interrupted again.
[00:20:30] Speaker E: You write you. Right. I got interrupted again.
Okay. So no, I'm in pantaloons and a blousy thing.
[00:20:40] Speaker C: Same, bro.
[00:20:40] Speaker D: A night shirt.
[00:20:41] Speaker E: A night shirt.
[00:20:42] Speaker B: So, Val, you crest over the side of the castle a little ways ahead of Uvaire to see Alward bursting back out of the kitchen. Like Nero says. Neros is walking through the main dining hall back towards the bedrooms again, dressed in her flowy shirt and pantaloons and Zafir, you're just kind of in the area, or had you already left?
[00:21:05] Speaker F: I think I'm just chilling.
[00:21:07] Speaker B: Just chilling.
[00:21:08] Speaker F: Reminiscing on everything that happened in the last probably half hour or so. Not even, you know, depends on it
[00:21:17] Speaker E: depends on your perspective.
[00:21:18] Speaker D: It's either anywhere from five minutes to three hours. We don't know.
[00:21:22] Speaker E: Yeah, who's to say?
[00:21:24] Speaker C: Interesting.
[00:21:28] Speaker D: Our.
So he bursts out, nero, come here. I'm so. Come here. And I'm gonna, like, walk toward her incredibly quickly.
[00:21:38] Speaker E: I turn around.
[00:21:40] Speaker D: Let me.
Can I see your hand?
[00:21:45] Speaker E: I reach out my hand.
[00:21:48] Speaker D: I haven't done this before, but let me see if I. And I'm going to try to see what I saw last time.
[00:21:58] Speaker B: Alward, as you take Neriss hand and you focus.
[00:22:06] Speaker D: Your arm,
[00:22:09] Speaker B: well, that's gonna make what I'm about to say sound really different.
Everything else seems to fade away.
[00:22:19] Speaker E: Every time we touch, I get this feeling.
[00:22:22] Speaker B: And you see off into the distance is the thread of Neros timeline. As you're able to, you know, see your own timelines now, you can focus and you can see Neros timeline. But as you saw just moments prior, Neros timeline is a little bit different from all of the others that you've been seeing.
The children in Iris and your own timeline. Neros timeline seems to be two threads interwoven into each other.
[00:22:54] Speaker C: Yeah, okay.
[00:22:56] Speaker D: That.
That's what I was.
You can't see this. Can you see this?
[00:23:05] Speaker B: She cannot.
[00:23:07] Speaker E: No.
[00:23:09] Speaker D: You guys talking about Nero has two lines.
[00:23:17] Speaker C: That's crazy.
[00:23:18] Speaker B: What?
[00:23:19] Speaker D: Hello?
[00:23:20] Speaker C: Val's just standing, like, right there.
[00:23:23] Speaker E: When did you get back?
[00:23:24] Speaker C: All right, now where's. Right back there?
[00:23:28] Speaker A: What do you mean, two lines? As you see Uvir float down and land next to Val.
[00:23:37] Speaker D: I mean, I.
Two, two, two, two. Two lines. That's what I. I mean, I don't.
[00:23:43] Speaker A: Two lines of what?
[00:23:46] Speaker E: Two times two. Two timelines. I have Uber's voice now understanding.
[00:23:52] Speaker D: There's the second line.
[00:23:54] Speaker C: Oh, no.
Yeah.
[00:23:56] Speaker D: It's like, normally there are, like, an infinite countable number of threads all converging into one point, which make up the present based off of all our actions. You have two doing that together, sort of swirling around each other.
[00:24:17] Speaker A: And what do you see when you see mine?
[00:24:19] Speaker D: I don't.
[00:24:20] Speaker F: No, this isn't about you. Right.
I'm sorry.
[00:24:23] Speaker A: He holds out his hand.
[00:24:27] Speaker E: I'm just gonna go to my room now and get ready for the day.
[00:24:30] Speaker D: Yeah. I'm sorry.
[00:24:33] Speaker C: Sorry if we interrupted something.
[00:24:36] Speaker D: I'm gonna awkwardly walk over to uvaire and check his timeline, and as I'm doing so, he's like, I think we have questions, but it can wait.
What do I see?
[00:24:51] Speaker A: A million lines?
[00:24:54] Speaker F: Three.
[00:24:55] Speaker B: You see, as you would expect to sort of the thread reaching out and spanning off into all the different branching possibilities, but as you were watching, you notice several of these. It'll, like, branch off in one direction and then just stop. And it's just kind of a loose thread that just ends.
[00:25:15] Speaker F: That's where the phrase loose thread comes from.
[00:25:18] Speaker D: I don't think I understand.
[00:25:19] Speaker B: So normally you have one thread that's connected to them, and it just branches off and infinitely branching configurations off into infinity.
Uvair has this thread that's Branching off into infinite branches. But many of these branches, instead of stretching off into infinity, it'll just stop and it's just kind of waving loosely, like it's. It just ends.
[00:25:40] Speaker D: Oh, it's like. Just like it. Oh,
[00:25:45] Speaker A: that's frayed.
Cut short, I'm afraid.
[00:25:50] Speaker F: You're a loose threat.
[00:25:53] Speaker D: I was just looking at it confused.
I've never looked at someone who's as old as you, so I do apologize.
I think some of these are pointing toward your death.
I could be wrong. This is all new to me.
Because if it just ends, there's nothing else to go on. That means death. Your timeline is done. You're no longer in this world.
That's how I'm reading it. That's why I was like, wait, I don't understand.
[00:26:22] Speaker F: Are you sure that's not where it came from? So, like, his birth or something?
[00:26:27] Speaker D: Timeline somehow rounds about back to your birthday?
I don't know.
It all gets very metaphysical and confusing when trying to make them a metaphor.
[00:26:39] Speaker A: He doesn't understand, though.
[00:26:41] Speaker D: Why would I? I've just learned I could do this.
[00:26:43] Speaker A: Like, it's spreading.
[00:26:45] Speaker D: A session ago.
[00:26:46] Speaker C: What's spreading?
[00:26:47] Speaker D: I do not understand.
[00:26:48] Speaker C: Oh, I do not understand.
That's cool. That's a new thing you can do.
[00:26:53] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:26:54] Speaker A: Interesting.
[00:26:57] Speaker F: Is this like a parlor trick? You gonna do it for everybody now, or like, we just looking at the most important people who seem to have issues?
[00:27:04] Speaker A: You said you had questions.
[00:27:08] Speaker D: Albert is just going to awkwardly stare at Uvaire with a face and then sort of sift through his timeline to back when Uvaire said he doesn't remember things to see what I can find.
[00:27:23] Speaker B: Gotcha. What is the most recent time that you remember Uwe saying he had a gap in his memory?
[00:27:30] Speaker D: I want to say it was around the time the adventure began.
Was that. Is that right?
[00:27:37] Speaker B: So you spool back through this timeline. You see flashes of various things that you remember being there for the Troll Forge, fighting against Eridssons. And as you go back and. And back and back, you get to Uver, joining up with the band of mercenaries at the party at the beginning of everything, you continue going back as Uver. You see him traveling to Tomgra from the Grungir Forest. You go back just a little bit further. You see Uvair talking with this woman in the Gungir Forest. And when you try to tug again, it's like something is catching and it won't spool back any further.
And if you give, like, just a little bit more force, it's almost like it just kind of gives really quickly and skips past. And the next thing you see is Uwe in Joel with a pile of books under his arm.
[00:28:32] Speaker D: That's what I was worried about.
The entire time, Albert hasn't said anything. He's just, like, intensely focusing and, like, going through. And he's like. And he pauses.
[00:28:42] Speaker F: He's like, h.
[00:28:45] Speaker D: Okay.
Right.
So how did your ka's trip go?
[00:28:55] Speaker A: What did you see, Albert?
[00:28:57] Speaker D: I. I don't.
I don't want to worry you until I know for sure, so I.
You may not have lost your memories, if that helps.
[00:29:15] Speaker A: From what I learned from Heimir, it is less of my memories were lost and more that they never existed to begin with.
[00:29:28] Speaker D: I'm sorry. From Heymir. You saw Heymir recently?
[00:29:32] Speaker A: When he was still part of our party.
[00:29:36] Speaker D: Oh, okay. Okay. So that's new information. But yes, basically, it's like that whole time doesn't exist, that you just jumped from one point of time to another point of time.
[00:29:49] Speaker A: Unnatural.
Against the regular order of things.
[00:29:56] Speaker D: Feels like the whole party is kind of like that, except for Val and Zephyr.
[00:30:02] Speaker B: Val, are you still, like, hovering next to Valward?
[00:30:05] Speaker C: Yeah, Val still is kind of hovering there with her right arm, like, fully covered with, like, her shoulder cape.
[00:30:13] Speaker A: You had questions for me, you said,
[00:30:18] Speaker D: I feel like it's best we wait for Neros to come back.
[00:30:22] Speaker A: I agree.
I believe there is much information that we must share.
[00:30:27] Speaker F: I am pretty tired, so I think.
I don't even know what time it is.
[00:30:34] Speaker C: It's like, 8 in the morning.
[00:30:37] Speaker F: Not the first time I've slept during the day.
I'll see you guys later.
[00:30:42] Speaker C: Oh, okay.
Did you guys just get back?
[00:30:47] Speaker D: No.
[00:30:47] Speaker C: No. Oh, okay.
[00:30:49] Speaker D: Kind of.
[00:30:51] Speaker A: Where did you all come from that you have not slept?
[00:30:55] Speaker C: And have you seen Cerdire?
[00:30:58] Speaker D: We would just.
We took a stop at the Grungir Forest to go to Nithvael, and we spent some time there to get something. Yeah, we saw CER Dire.
[00:31:11] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:31:12] Speaker D: He's the one who told the story.
[00:31:13] Speaker A: Fairly certain Uver knows of these places. Perhaps. Yes.
[00:31:17] Speaker B: Yes. Uvair. You've definitely heard of Nithvale, which is.
Technically, it's a city in the First World, but every New Moon, its location of the First World overlaps with the Material Plane, and it's on the Material Plane for one day.
[00:31:33] Speaker A: So you've been to a piece of the First World
[00:31:38] Speaker D: Alward.
Kind of looks like he's just piecing some things together. And then he looks a little sad and, like, upset with himself. He's. Yeah, yeah, we Have
[00:31:50] Speaker F: Zephyr reappears and goes, oops, I left my 500 gold voucher for.
What was that place called again?
[00:31:58] Speaker D: Nithvale.
[00:31:59] Speaker F: The market by. Good night.
Day.
[00:32:03] Speaker C: Morning.
[00:32:05] Speaker F: Morning.
Now I leave again.
[00:32:09] Speaker E: Neros will come back out in the equivalent of fantasy world. Sweatpants fair and a different flowy shirt.
[00:32:18] Speaker D: As soon as Nero's comes out, Albert's like, I'm sorry.
[00:32:22] Speaker E: For what?
[00:32:23] Speaker D: I thought I.
Your necklace. I thought I was going to undo a lot of that, and now it's possibly going to be gone if we fail.
[00:32:33] Speaker E: Look, it was necessary.
Yeah, listen, like I said, it's as collateral, right?
[00:32:42] Speaker D: But I.
[00:32:43] Speaker E: You keep your ability to count while he has my necklace.
[00:32:48] Speaker A: I.
[00:32:49] Speaker E: It's fine.
[00:32:50] Speaker D: I thought none of that was going to matter, which is why I made that deal.
[00:32:55] Speaker E: Well,
[00:32:58] Speaker A: you made the deal with Safe.
[00:32:59] Speaker D: I did. I'm not proud of it, but we needed these boots.
[00:33:02] Speaker F: It.
[00:33:03] Speaker E: It got us something we need.
[00:33:04] Speaker C: Oh, you got boots?
[00:33:06] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:33:07] Speaker C: Cool.
[00:33:08] Speaker A: What are zeboots?
[00:33:10] Speaker E: They allow someone to go into the.
Basically walk between planes, between this world and the first world.
And since Fafnir is a creature of the first world, he may try to plane walk while we're trying to fight him, so. Or find him, either way. And this will allow us to follow him.
If that makes sense.
[00:33:34] Speaker C: Interesting. Yeah, that makes sense.
[00:33:37] Speaker E: So who has them?
[00:33:38] Speaker C: You?
[00:33:38] Speaker D: Yeah, they're in my backpack right now.
[00:33:40] Speaker F: I thought they were on your feet.
[00:33:41] Speaker E: No, but we had to put up some collateral for the boots because he didn't want to give them up.
[00:33:48] Speaker C: And you put up your locket and
[00:33:51] Speaker E: his ability to count and you can't count right now? No, I can count for now. Yeah, but I gave. I gave them. I gave him my locket so he could retain his ability to count.
[00:34:01] Speaker D: I die. Or if we don't return the boots
[00:34:05] Speaker E: in what, six years?
[00:34:07] Speaker D: Six years or after one month of Fafnir's death, then I lose my ability to count.
[00:34:12] Speaker C: I mean, if you die, I don't think you need to count, but.
[00:34:15] Speaker D: Yeah, that's why he keeps it.
[00:34:16] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:34:17] Speaker A: Yeah, I understand FA wishing to keep something like your ability to count, but why would he accept you?
[00:34:25] Speaker E: Your locket had something to do with it needed to hold a lot of meaning or a lot of something.
Yeah, listen, I wasn't quite thinking 100%.
I just wanted us to get out of there, cuz I didn't know how much time we had left and I
[00:34:44] Speaker D: gave it up anyway. That was our side.
[00:34:48] Speaker C: Well, that's all that happened, basically.
[00:34:50] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:34:50] Speaker D: Your guys's and well, do.
[00:34:53] Speaker A: Do we want to wait for Zafir to ask you questions that you apparently have of me? That you gained, I'm assuming, from being in the first World, or.
[00:35:05] Speaker E: Oh, I mean, yeah, I can stick my head back through the doorway. Sophia.
[00:35:11] Speaker F: I knew I'd be needed.
[00:35:12] Speaker E: I know. I'm sorry. Come on.
[00:35:14] Speaker F: All right. Maybe I can sleep on the floor.
[00:35:17] Speaker C: Val's gonna kind of like walk up on the air, up into like a little nook in the wall.
[00:35:22] Speaker E: Why are you.
[00:35:24] Speaker C: By flying.
[00:35:26] Speaker E: You're flying?
[00:35:27] Speaker C: Yeah, I can fly without wings now.
[00:35:33] Speaker E: Why?
[00:35:35] Speaker C: I leveled up.
[00:35:39] Speaker E: So it's a 14th level ability.
[00:35:41] Speaker C: No, so I.
And she's like, maybe I'd say like sitting about 10ft up above everyone right now on this little nook. And she's like, well, I broke the tablet and made the deal, so I'm full mortal Herald.
And so that was part of the stuff I got, among other things.
Then she kind of like rubs her arm that's covered up.
[00:36:13] Speaker A: Uver is not saying anything at all.
That is for Val to disclose if
[00:36:20] Speaker C: she wishes the backup. Like what happened or just the specific thing.
[00:36:24] Speaker A: I'm talking about what you've done.
[00:36:26] Speaker C: Okay, yeah, almost said it.
[00:36:29] Speaker A: What I've done?
[00:36:31] Speaker E: Yeah, what I've done.
[00:36:34] Speaker C: Well, we.
I mean, we went to.
Teleported to the place, met that nice librarian, Delilah.
[00:36:45] Speaker A: We went to Tar Kasmok.
[00:36:46] Speaker C: Yes, thank you.
[00:36:47] Speaker A: My home.
[00:36:49] Speaker D: Did you get the heart?
[00:36:52] Speaker A: We did.
[00:36:54] Speaker D: Oh, good.
[00:36:55] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: And we might have met an ally in the future in our fight against Fafnir.
[00:37:03] Speaker E: Might have?
Uncertain.
[00:37:06] Speaker C: She's gonna see what she can do. And she might come help with some wizards.
[00:37:10] Speaker E: Is this the Delilah person?
[00:37:12] Speaker C: Yeah. She's pretty cool.
She's a big old shield.
[00:37:16] Speaker A: She was very helpful in our acquisition of Zahad.
But you had questions.
[00:37:28] Speaker F: Ask.
[00:37:29] Speaker D: Who is the poet?
[00:37:32] Speaker E: Oh, I mean, that just came right out there, didn't it?
[00:37:35] Speaker D: Oh, why? I figured. Why? Why beat around the bush?
[00:37:38] Speaker E: That's fair, I guess.
[00:37:38] Speaker C: That's a really good point. Alward,
[00:37:42] Speaker A: he is one of the Vaatia.
[00:37:45] Speaker D: He's a troll.
[00:37:46] Speaker A: No, the Vaatia are not trolls, as you would think of trolls.
[00:37:52] Speaker C: They're very different.
[00:37:54] Speaker D: That.
Why didn't he just say that?
[00:37:57] Speaker E: I don't know.
[00:37:57] Speaker D: I mean, he went around that.
[00:37:59] Speaker E: Listen, he's a Fae.
[00:38:01] Speaker D: That's fair. But
[00:38:04] Speaker E: did you really expect him to come straight to the point?
[00:38:08] Speaker A: Who did you talk to that spoke of the poet?
[00:38:11] Speaker D: Oh, some Fae rulers.
[00:38:14] Speaker A: Some Fae rulers?
[00:38:15] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:38:15] Speaker E: Yeah.
[00:38:16] Speaker A: Is it kings?
[00:38:18] Speaker E: I think so. I think that's what they were I
[00:38:20] Speaker D: don't remember their title.
[00:38:21] Speaker E: I don't either. I. One of them wanted to play a game, and we played his game and we won.
[00:38:26] Speaker A: Why did he ask you of support?
[00:38:28] Speaker D: Well, he wanted to know where you were and we sort of asked him.
[00:38:32] Speaker A: He wanted to know of me?
[00:38:34] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:38:34] Speaker E: We didn't tell him.
[00:38:36] Speaker D: Well, we told.
[00:38:37] Speaker E: Yeah, we didn't tell him where he was.
[00:38:39] Speaker D: That's true. We didn't know where he was.
[00:38:41] Speaker E: We were truthful.
[00:38:42] Speaker D: We were nice.
[00:38:45] Speaker A: But how did he know of me?
[00:38:47] Speaker D: Oh, they have spies everywhere.
Zaphir's going to try and find them.
[00:38:53] Speaker F: It's like a game of I Spy or Where's Walton?
[00:39:00] Speaker E: Where's Walton? Yes.
[00:39:02] Speaker F: I should have gone with Walter.
[00:39:03] Speaker D: It's someone who hides in.
[00:39:05] Speaker E: I like Walton better.
[00:39:06] Speaker D: And if you find Walton, he gives you a little gift.
[00:39:09] Speaker F: That's where I got the voucher.
[00:39:12] Speaker E: Are you just rolling die over there?
[00:39:14] Speaker B: I just rolled a die. Yes.
[00:39:15] Speaker D: Jordy, can we make it a rule that if we roll an at 20 on any perception check that doesn't involve initiative, we find Walton, we get a
[00:39:24] Speaker C: little gift alt in universe, please?
[00:39:27] Speaker B: Sure.
[00:39:27] Speaker A: Yay.
[00:39:28] Speaker F: It's actually Crass, but, like with a little disguise or.
[00:39:32] Speaker E: Crass's brother.
[00:39:33] Speaker F: Yeah, we met Crass.
[00:39:35] Speaker E: What was his name?
He didn't give us his name.
[00:39:40] Speaker D: No, he did. He had to because it was part of the signing of the thing.
[00:39:45] Speaker C: Are you looking at your notes?
[00:39:47] Speaker F: I Bruno and Demigent Di
[00:39:52] Speaker A: Jordy with conceal spell. U casts root reading.
[00:39:59] Speaker D: We're in a floating castle.
[00:40:00] Speaker E: Yeah, but there is a tree in the courtyard.
[00:40:02] Speaker D: That is true. There.
[00:40:02] Speaker B: What is the range of root reading again?
[00:40:04] Speaker A: 30 foot.
[00:40:06] Speaker B: You do not detect anything.
[00:40:08] Speaker A: Okay. He now casts detect magic on a magical flying castle.
[00:40:14] Speaker D: Oh, I see what he's trying to do.
[00:40:15] Speaker E: I don't.
[00:40:16] Speaker D: Spies everywhere.
[00:40:17] Speaker E: Oh, okay, one moment.
[00:40:21] Speaker C: You guys just left there, so it's reasonable to think there's one hanging around with you guys.
[00:40:24] Speaker E: We probably have.
Yeah.
[00:40:28] Speaker F: I can't think of a word.
[00:40:30] Speaker A: You detect nothing even all around.
[00:40:33] Speaker B: It's a 30 foot emanation.
[00:40:35] Speaker A: Okay.
Uvaire stops talking and you can see his focus changes a moment.
Only if you're looking for it. You can see he momentarily isn't listening to what anybody's saying before he turns and says, all of you follow me.
And he walks to a wall.
And for about 60 seconds, you see him trace a doorway onto the wall in front of him before you see it shimmer change into an actual door.
And it opens and he says, please walk on through.
We can talk in sight oh, is
[00:41:23] Speaker D: this like the chalk that I have?
[00:41:26] Speaker A: It is not.
Come.
[00:41:28] Speaker D: I'm already walking through.
[00:41:31] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:41:32] Speaker F: ZEPHYR GROANS okay.
[00:41:34] Speaker E: Is there any coffee nearby?
[00:41:37] Speaker A: Coffee inside.
[00:41:38] Speaker E: What?
[00:41:38] Speaker B: Please.
[00:41:39] Speaker E: I wasn't.
[00:41:41] Speaker A: As you walk through the doorway and then an ethereal servant comes up with it.
[00:41:45] Speaker E: You walk through the doorway?
[00:41:47] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:41:48] Speaker E: I didn't even say I was going the assumption.
[00:41:53] Speaker A: My apologies. Are you gonna walk through the doorway?
[00:41:55] Speaker E: Yes.
[00:41:55] Speaker A: Okay. As you walk through the doorway, inside appears to be a mansion featuring a magnificent foyer and numerous opulent chambers.
Opulent, opulent, opulent, opulent.
[00:42:10] Speaker E: What is this spell?
[00:42:11] Speaker D: My guess is like resplendent mansion.
[00:42:13] Speaker C: Yeah. So it's like a giant manor.
[00:42:14] Speaker A: Planar palace.
[00:42:16] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:42:16] Speaker D: That's a good one too. That's the upgraded version, I think of Resplendent.
[00:42:19] Speaker B: The remastered version.
[00:42:20] Speaker E: It's the remaster trying to want my castle here.
[00:42:23] Speaker D: Want that?
[00:42:24] Speaker A: Essentially what it is, is it's an extra dimension. Extra dimensional demi plane.
[00:42:29] Speaker D: Yeah. So it's like the chalk, but you
[00:42:31] Speaker A: don't run out of air.
[00:42:32] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, yeah.
[00:42:33] Speaker F: That's fair.
[00:42:34] Speaker B: Each of you, as you come in through the door to this planar palace, is offered by these phantasmal minions a beverage of your choice.
[00:42:44] Speaker A: Tailored to what Uvaire knows that you enjoy.
Hot cocoa, coffee.
[00:42:51] Speaker E: Yes. I wasn't going to say it, but yes.
I didn't think it was necessary, sir.
[00:42:57] Speaker A: If this king from the first plane is truly has a spies, then perhaps this will provide us a bit of insulation and we can talk in private.
[00:43:08] Speaker B: I have a question, Zafir. Are you still lounging on the couch or are you joining them?
[00:43:12] Speaker F: Oh, I groaned and walked in.
[00:43:13] Speaker B: Okay,
[00:43:16] Speaker A: leave the voucher outside.
[00:43:19] Speaker D: Oh, I take mine and set it outside on the door.
[00:43:24] Speaker F: I just put mine back on the table where it was resting.
[00:43:28] Speaker E: I mean, mine's probably in my room. Yeah, I'm not. I'm not wearing my normal clothes right now.
[00:43:32] Speaker F: Where you kept it when you were in your pantaloons.
[00:43:35] Speaker A: And did you receive anything else from this plane?
[00:43:38] Speaker D: The boots.
[00:43:40] Speaker A: Then I will hopefully trust that the magic that is in this place will be enough of an insulator.
Well, I do not care so much if this king knows some of what is going to be said. I would rather it not be known to all.
What are your questions while you were
[00:44:01] Speaker D: explaining what the va'tir were?
[00:44:05] Speaker A: They are from the first world.
[00:44:07] Speaker D: Okay, so they're trolls from the first world.
[00:44:11] Speaker A: They aren't trolls. The Vaatia are.
The association to trolls is more of a mistranslation or.
[00:44:24] Speaker D: I'm sorry.
I have a magic book that told me that translated indirectly to troll.
So I understand it could be not 100% accurate, but it's not a mistranslation. This thing can't be mistranslated.
[00:44:38] Speaker A: Misassociated.
[00:44:39] Speaker D: That's fair.
[00:44:42] Speaker B: Me just sitting over here like. You're both correct.
So to give a little bit of insight, the way that that worked was the word troll was borrowed as a loan word from the old skald. Vaatir.
[00:45:01] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:45:02] Speaker B: So
[00:45:04] Speaker A: what does this king tell you of Zavatir?
[00:45:09] Speaker E: I don't remember.
[00:45:10] Speaker D: He did nothing. He was very.
He kept insisting that we didn't see any trolls and that Vaatir were not trolls.
But he wouldn't tell us what Vaatir was, so we couldn't tell him if we've seen any Vaati are.
[00:45:29] Speaker A: I see.
And at this point, you see, you see Uwe reach out and then out of thin air, a scroll appears in his hand and you see him open it.
Frown and concentration as I use trick magic item on this third level ring of truth spell.
[00:45:53] Speaker B: What was your occultism bonus to trick this one?
[00:45:57] Speaker A: 21.
[00:46:01] Speaker B: You succeed on an AT1.
It's a DC23.
You succeed. Yay.
[00:46:14] Speaker A: I just wanted to roll dice. Let's be honest here.
[00:46:17] Speaker E: I mean, that's why we're here.
[00:46:18] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:46:19] Speaker F: My dice aren't even over open
[00:46:23] Speaker C: as
[00:46:24] Speaker A: the scroll flashes and you just hear this slight ding.
Ask me questions that you wish and I will answer as honestly as I can.
[00:46:41] Speaker D: You didn't have to cast the spell. We presumed.
[00:46:46] Speaker B: I need everybody to make a will save.
[00:46:49] Speaker A: I fail it.
[00:46:50] Speaker B: You can choose to fail if you want.
[00:46:52] Speaker C: Val looks at Uvair and has a little worried face and then rolls a will sieve.
[00:46:57] Speaker E: 30. 31 for Nero's.
[00:47:00] Speaker D: That wasn't what that was.
[00:47:01] Speaker A: My DC is 33. So Neros fails.
[00:47:04] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:47:05] Speaker F: Dang. I didn't fail. 35.
[00:47:07] Speaker C: 44. And a normal success is a crit success for me.
[00:47:11] Speaker E: Am I the only one that failed?
[00:47:12] Speaker C: You just take a minus two to just deception chicks.
[00:47:15] Speaker F: We know you wouldn't lie to us anyway.
[00:47:17] Speaker E: You don't know near us very well.
[00:47:19] Speaker B: What was the result of your save Jenkins?
[00:47:21] Speaker D: 36.
[00:47:22] Speaker B: Okay, so am I correct Spen in thinking that Val Krit succeeded Alward and Zafir regular succeeded and Neros failed. Okay, so Neros, for the duration of this spell, the bell will ring whenever you speak the truth. And it will not ring if you lie for Albert and Zafir if you attempt to lie and your deception check
[00:47:49] Speaker D: beats everybody whenever I get a success on a Will Save. I get a critical success.
[00:47:54] Speaker B: Oh.
[00:47:54] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:47:55] Speaker B: Zafir, whenever you attempt to lie and everybody else. Your deception check beats everybody else, the bell will ring, but you have a minus two penalty to your deception checks.
Alward and Val, you have resisted the spell, and the bell will ring no matter what you say.
[00:48:12] Speaker C: Love that Tucson
[00:48:16] Speaker D: donkey.
[00:48:18] Speaker B: I wish I had a bell.
[00:48:20] Speaker D: So is the bell truth or lie?
[00:48:22] Speaker C: Truth.
[00:48:22] Speaker B: Truth.
[00:48:22] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:48:24] Speaker B: Truth or dare?
[00:48:26] Speaker D: Dare.
[00:48:26] Speaker F: Dare.
[00:48:28] Speaker B: Okay, so we have now established how the bell works for everybody.
[00:48:32] Speaker F: How the bell tolls.
[00:48:33] Speaker E: Mm.
[00:48:36] Speaker D: You didn't have to do that, Uwe.
[00:48:38] Speaker A: I did. Not for you, but for me.
[00:48:43] Speaker D: Okay.
Did the bell ding?
[00:48:46] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:48:48] Speaker B: I don't know why you're doing this.
[00:48:50] Speaker A: I'm doing it because of what's going to be revealed.
And they need to be able to trust what I say.
[00:48:56] Speaker B: I see.
[00:48:57] Speaker A: Ding.
[00:48:57] Speaker C: Yeah,
[00:49:02] Speaker D: I. I guess. Proceed.
[00:49:04] Speaker A: Ask your questions, and I will answer to the best of my ability.
Assume everything I say just has a ding behind it.
[00:49:13] Speaker D: I.
[00:49:13] Speaker A: If it's an answer.
[00:49:14] Speaker C: I don't know if you've still even answered his original question.
[00:49:16] Speaker D: You haven't. I'm still waiting to know what a vat here is.
[00:49:19] Speaker A: They are from the first world, but
[00:49:21] Speaker D: that doesn't tell me what they are.
[00:49:24] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:49:24] Speaker B: Ding.
[00:49:28] Speaker A: So what I. From what I understand and have learned recently, they are a series of beings from the first world, a few of which had specific powers, the poet being one of them.
In the first world, it's a poet reached for power that was beyond what should be his to control, attempted to change the world in ways that it should not be.
They were forced from the first world into ours and have been on the run or in hiding ever since.
[00:50:16] Speaker D: So we kind of knew that.
I wanted to know who he was to you.
[00:50:22] Speaker A: He is no one. To me personally, I do not know him. I have not met him in my memories.
But that is not to say that he has not done anything to me or I have not been affected by him.
[00:50:35] Speaker F: Could he have rewritten your history to make. Erase him from you?
[00:50:40] Speaker D: Oh, 100%.
[00:50:41] Speaker C: Didn't we learn that that kind of happened?
[00:50:43] Speaker F: That's.
[00:50:44] Speaker C: That you were worked on by the poet you created or changed by him?
[00:50:49] Speaker A: Yes.
That is what we learned.
We believe that my memory of finding that book in Tarakazmuk might have been a moment where my history was entangled with what he had written, because that is what his power is.
Whatever he says and writes, the world wants to make that the truth.
[00:51:20] Speaker D: Very willful guy.
[00:51:22] Speaker C: It seemed like it Affected maybe your whole party from before, but we're not really sure.
[00:51:30] Speaker A: We do not know if my fate or my being a thrall.
And you guys haven't mentioned that?
[00:51:42] Speaker D: Not yet.
[00:51:43] Speaker A: Of him affects those around me or not.
Given what it sounds like his powers are capable of, it would not surprise me.
And if that is so, then I am sorry.
[00:52:03] Speaker F: How long ago was this? And I mean, like, how do we know that what we know is real?
[00:52:11] Speaker A: I remember that night.
Many, many years ago.
I found a book in the library of Tar Kazmuk.
Opened it, and then I woke up and the book was empty.
And I am, as you see me now, scarred with these runes.
When that was truly, I do not know.
[00:52:50] Speaker D: So it sounds like we all got about the same information.
[00:52:54] Speaker A: Except that I know where the poet is.
[00:52:57] Speaker D: Oh. Why didn't you lead with that? That's kind of burying the lead there, little Uvaire.
Why even ask? Just says.
[00:53:06] Speaker A: Just say that I needed to know what you knew first and what had been told to you.
[00:53:12] Speaker D: I don't think you did.
[00:53:14] Speaker F: Where is he?
Where?
[00:53:18] Speaker C: The drill stones.
No, that's what I have noted.
[00:53:23] Speaker A: I wasn't going to tell them that.
[00:53:25] Speaker C: Oh,
[00:53:27] Speaker F: I don't even know what that is.
[00:53:28] Speaker D: So you got a lie to us
[00:53:29] Speaker C: In a zone of truth, I thought. Why are we not telling them where it is?
[00:53:34] Speaker A: Because I still do not trust that there weren't spies that could penetrate even this well.
[00:53:40] Speaker C: Sorry.
[00:53:41] Speaker B: I'm really enjoying the drillstones.
[00:53:44] Speaker C: Ding.
[00:53:44] Speaker B: I wasn't gonna tell them that.
[00:53:45] Speaker E: Ding.
[00:53:47] Speaker F: So, working theory.
Why did the poet get rid of Nyxvale?
[00:53:53] Speaker C: Oh, okay. You guys learned about that too?
[00:53:55] Speaker F: No, that is literally a working theory I'm putting together.
[00:53:58] Speaker C: Well. Oh, okay.
[00:53:59] Speaker A: I wish to go meet with the poet.
[00:54:04] Speaker F: Oh.
[00:54:04] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, we could do that, I suppose. I don't think we need to.
[00:54:06] Speaker E: It sounds like a horrible idea.
[00:54:08] Speaker D: I mean, it does, but I. He could.
A being capable of rewriting, erasing people,
[00:54:15] Speaker E: all of history, an entire family line.
[00:54:18] Speaker D: Perhaps we can get rid of Fafnir.
[00:54:20] Speaker C: We don't know it's real. Or if Fafnir is even real, or. There.
He could also have been rewritten or anything like that.
[00:54:25] Speaker F: What if we cut off his hands and sew his mouth shut while he's sleeping?
Then he can't write or speak.
[00:54:33] Speaker E: Zafir the assassin is coming out to play.
[00:54:36] Speaker D: That was the darkest thing you've said in months.
[00:54:39] Speaker F: You know, solve an issue without killing.
[00:54:43] Speaker C: There's some things that are worse than killing. And that might be part of that.
[00:54:48] Speaker F: I'm Just trying. Anyway, where are we going? I don't even know where this place is.
[00:54:55] Speaker E: Are we going as the team or does he just want to go?
[00:54:59] Speaker D: I don't think it's smart pointing at uwe go by himself.
[00:55:03] Speaker F: I mean, worst that can happen is he gets erased again.
[00:55:06] Speaker E: Yeah, well, he's. He's also known to just go places by himself.
[00:55:10] Speaker A: I have been warned to not see him alone and to go and talk with him. I have been told that he is repentant, that he is innocent, and that he is also a monster.
[00:55:22] Speaker E: Nero just starts laughing.
[00:55:24] Speaker D: Who told you all of this?
[00:55:26] Speaker F: Somebody who apparently doesn't have their facts straight.
[00:55:31] Speaker A: I have been told by someone who is also from the first world.
[00:55:37] Speaker F: He is.
[00:55:37] Speaker A: And he's keeping this vague on purpose. And you can tell Val looks uncomfortable.
And I have met with one of the other vats here.
[00:55:47] Speaker D: Who told you all of this?
[00:55:50] Speaker C: She looks at Uber. Can I just say like the second name, not the first name.
[00:55:54] Speaker A: The Smith.
[00:55:55] Speaker C: Okay, thank you.
The other Vatir.
[00:56:01] Speaker E: I think it's stupid to trust what any of these creatures say is this myth. That's all I'm gonna say.
[00:56:07] Speaker C: I'm not very trusting of it either.
[00:56:09] Speaker E: That's so stupid.
[00:56:11] Speaker F: Wait, do you know who this Smith is?
[00:56:14] Speaker A: He is one of Svatia.
[00:56:16] Speaker F: Do you know exactly who he is though, or just the name?
[00:56:19] Speaker C: I think that is their names.
[00:56:20] Speaker A: That is their.
[00:56:21] Speaker E: Wait, this Smith? Yeah, the smith, as in blacksmith?
[00:56:25] Speaker F: As in Pilgrim.
[00:56:29] Speaker A: The smith and the poet are their names?
Yeah, it's the real names.
[00:56:35] Speaker C: Val is drinking her drink.
[00:56:37] Speaker E: Yeah, if we put it together, you're still not going to tell us? Is that how we're playing this game right now?
Is that how we're really going to play this game?
[00:56:47] Speaker D: Cool.
[00:56:48] Speaker E: Love it.
Love it.
[00:56:50] Speaker F: I mean, I guess I understand that you don't want spies to hear, but
[00:56:53] Speaker C: I mean, I mean, there's. It's just the five of us.
[00:56:58] Speaker D: Just.
[00:56:59] Speaker A: If you wish to speak with him, he is no longer there.
[00:57:03] Speaker D: You killed Pilgrim?
[00:57:05] Speaker A: He left.
[00:57:06] Speaker D: Oh, thank goodness.
[00:57:08] Speaker A: Oh, he meddled too much even then in the realms of the mortals.
[00:57:14] Speaker F: Was that a pun with metal smith?
[00:57:17] Speaker A: And this is where I get to the most hopeful information that we learned.
And that is the Vati, when they were exiled from the first world, made an oath that they would no longer mess with the mortals.
[00:57:34] Speaker C: Well, except that the realm of that and everything, so.
[00:57:38] Speaker E: Because they mean what they say, I
[00:57:40] Speaker C: think some of them do.
[00:57:42] Speaker A: You are right to be mistrustful.
[00:57:44] Speaker E: As am I. Nero's is being much more Abrasive than normal.
[00:57:48] Speaker C: That's fair.
[00:57:50] Speaker A: That is why I think we need to go speak with the poet.
[00:57:52] Speaker E: I think that's stupid. But that's just me.
[00:57:57] Speaker A: I think it is the only way to get answers.
Neros.
[00:58:02] Speaker E: According to his truth Br.
[00:58:05] Speaker F: Well, technically, his truth is the truth. Apparently so.
[00:58:08] Speaker E: Yeah, but I mean, he's a creature of the first world.
He's a Fae.
You can't trust them.
[00:58:14] Speaker F: Understandable. But also not understandable.
[00:58:19] Speaker E: Why would I? If the working theory, according to people who won't just come out and say it out loud, is that he erased my whole family line, why would I want to go see him?
[00:58:31] Speaker C: Maybe to unerase it, he can.
[00:58:33] Speaker E: Why would I want to go see him if I'm obviously not supposed to exist? According to Pharasma and everything else in this world.
[00:58:41] Speaker F: Maybe you could catch him off guard.
[00:58:43] Speaker E: Surprising. I highly doubt it.
[00:58:45] Speaker A: Just be like closure.
[00:58:48] Speaker E: I listen.
[00:58:49] Speaker C: Well, I think you were meant to exist. It's just that the poet tried to make it to where you weren't. Yeah, and that clearly didn't work.
[00:58:56] Speaker E: He failed. So what's to say? What's to stop him from trying again?
[00:58:59] Speaker F: Again? Succeeding as powerful as we think we've gotten?
[00:59:02] Speaker C: Pretty strong.
[00:59:05] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:59:06] Speaker A: At least need to see if I can free myself from his clutches.
I do not wish to be a thrall and have my fate constantly rewritten to somebody else's will.
Unless you can think of another way that I can escape this fate.
[00:59:25] Speaker E: Well, you can go without me.
[00:59:30] Speaker F: If we deal with this, are you gonna get your memories back? Or like, I don't know.
[00:59:35] Speaker A: Because I may cease to exist.
[00:59:38] Speaker F: You could explode. You know, all that rushing in it,
[00:59:42] Speaker A: all the time that has been stolen from me may catch up to me all at once and I may just fade away into dust.
Well, or I may become a new person altogether.
[00:59:55] Speaker F: So the question, I guess, of, you know, not if you're gonna explode. I guess because everything could be.
I don't know. I'm not hoping this is the case. But it could just be gone. Consumed.
[01:00:09] Speaker E: Eaten.
[01:00:10] Speaker F: Like it can't be.
Regained. Restored. It's just.
[01:00:15] Speaker A: Then so be it.
[01:00:16] Speaker F: Like this.
[01:00:17] Speaker A: I am not constrained by what my past is or might have been.
[01:00:22] Speaker F: You just don't want it to happen later. Right?
[01:00:25] Speaker A: I want to continue to be me as I am now.
[01:00:31] Speaker F: So do we have any other plans of items or things we need to do?
[01:00:36] Speaker D: We were gonna get a sword specifically made to kill Linworms over on the isles. Yeah?
[01:00:44] Speaker C: Yeah.
[01:00:44] Speaker F: Is that anywhere near where we're supposed to Be going.
[01:00:46] Speaker C: Okay. I think the poet's on the way.
Isn't the boat to the west? Isn't the drillstones west?
[01:00:52] Speaker A: He's east.
[01:00:53] Speaker C: Oh, so it's opposite direction, Hmm?
I mean, what he just said. For you to not go alone. He didn't say we all had to go.
[01:01:03] Speaker A: I can go alone and yet not be alone.
[01:01:07] Speaker C: That sounds like a bad idea.
[01:01:11] Speaker A: If I wish to talk with him, then it would be best if you all came with me. But I do have other allies that I have been made aware of.
But they would only wish to kill him.
[01:01:26] Speaker C: Who's that?
[01:01:28] Speaker A: He doesn't answer.
[01:01:30] Speaker C: Right.
[01:01:31] Speaker F: I mean, I wouldn't mind going with you.
There's so much happened when we were apart from each other. I don't know if I want that to happen again.
[01:01:40] Speaker A: We are caught up in the realm of the fae.
A feud that has lasted thousands of years that we have just been swept up into.
We don't know what is truth.
I do not know what is truth.
But if I wish to see the end of what my fate is, I fear I need to go speak with the poet.
[01:02:07] Speaker D: I mean, sure, he's clearly very powerful, but I think the sheer fact that Neros does exist means he's not all powerful. Something could stop him.
[01:02:21] Speaker F: I mean, we could just ask him to get rid of Fafnir too.
[01:02:23] Speaker C: I mean, well, I don't know how amenable he's to going. Going to be about everything.
[01:02:29] Speaker A: You are right that he is not all powerful.
If what I is told is true, then things that I have done already are counter to what he originally wrote.
[01:02:46] Speaker F: How long does this spell last? The truth thing?
[01:02:49] Speaker B: 10 minutes. So I'm gonna say it's about to wear off.
[01:02:53] Speaker F: I figured it already would have.
[01:02:56] Speaker D: What if we just take the time to get the sword and we'll think about. Give Nero some time and worry about the poet later.
[01:03:08] Speaker A: Uvaire looks at Nero's.
Do you look angry, afraid? Or how do you.
How would the emotions be reading on her right now?
[01:03:23] Speaker E: Outwardly, because she's good at masking.
She looks very annoyed.
[01:03:35] Speaker A: I want to roll perception.
Is that okay?
[01:03:39] Speaker E: I mean, if you want to. I'm not going to tell you. No.
I mean, the GM can, but I'm not going to.
[01:03:46] Speaker F: No. Your eyes have exploded.
[01:03:47] Speaker B: What are you trying to perceive beyond the mask? To try to get further insight.
As long as Abby's okay with it. Yeah.
[01:03:54] Speaker E: You can sense motive.
[01:03:57] Speaker A: Is that perception or insight?
[01:03:58] Speaker E: It's perception.
[01:03:59] Speaker C: Okay.
[01:03:59] Speaker E: There is no insight in this game.
[01:04:02] Speaker A: Oh, right.
I don't know what a 34 gives me?
[01:04:06] Speaker F: Oh,
[01:04:09] Speaker E: it's one over my DC.
[01:04:14] Speaker D: Wait, do you have any feats, like lie to me or anything?
[01:04:16] Speaker E: Oh, do I? I mean, she is a dandy.
[01:04:18] Speaker C: She reveals to you that you're. She's a vatr behind the mask.
[01:04:23] Speaker E: No, I don't have any of those feats, unfortunately. I'm sorry.
So that's one over my DC friend.
[01:04:29] Speaker A: So I see that you're so what
[01:04:32] Speaker E: you see past the mask is
[01:04:38] Speaker C: a
[01:04:38] Speaker E: lot of trepidation and uncertainty.
Fear.
[01:04:48] Speaker A: We don't have to go now.
We don't all have to go at all.
I think you are right, Howard. It would be best to give time to this to think.
I have waited a long time already.
I can wait a little longer.
And sometimes not everything has to be found.
Some things, it is already okay for them to be lost and never found.
Life moves on.
They do not have to define us if we don't wish it.
[01:05:38] Speaker E: Okay, so we're going off to the sword. Yes. Okay. Everyone in agreement? Yep. Okay. And she walks out the door.
[01:05:44] Speaker D: This is amazing architecture.
[01:05:45] Speaker B: I just neros.
As you walk out the door.
[01:05:50] Speaker C: Oh, no.
[01:05:51] Speaker B: Back into the main hall of your flying castle, the air outside you outside seems colder and the room darker. And directly across from you, lounging across the table is a long, sinewy, serpentine blue and orange creature with a strange fish like head. And it says.
[01:06:12] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[01:06:13] Speaker B: I was wondering how long you'd be.
[01:06:17] Speaker C: Is that the guy?
[01:06:18] Speaker B: And that's where Belinda.
[01:06:19] Speaker A: What is that?
[01:06:20] Speaker D: Gosh.
[01:06:21] Speaker C: Is that the demon?
[01:06:23] Speaker E: Is that the demon?
[01:06:24] Speaker D: What?
[01:06:26] Speaker F: Yeah.
[01:06:28] Speaker C: Oh, can I call. Can I call the pale. I gotta call the pale horse.
[01:06:34] Speaker B: All right. And the hero point for this adventure or today's episode is going here on the shelf. Everybody see?
[01:06:41] Speaker C: Yeah, that's not a shelf.
[01:06:43] Speaker A: That's a windowsill.
[01:06:44] Speaker E: That's a windowsill.
[01:06:45] Speaker B: This hero point is being held in escrow because the party won't let me give it to Zol'.
[01:06:50] Speaker F: Gazaz.
[01:06:52] Speaker D: He can win his turn.
[01:06:54] Speaker C: Spoilers.
[01:06:55] Speaker D: He's not a hero.
[01:06:57] Speaker B: He's a hero to all.
[01:06:58] Speaker C: Anti hero villain point.
[01:07:01] Speaker B: But we will hold this one in escrow. And at the end of our next episode, I presume we'll be handing out two hero points.
[01:07:08] Speaker A: I refuse.
[01:07:09] Speaker D: We're gonna just keep building them up until right before the last episode.
[01:07:12] Speaker C: I took a feat that lets me have five hero points.
[01:07:15] Speaker B: And until that point, I am going to go read up on stuff and lore.
[01:07:22] Speaker C: Oh, wow.
[01:07:23] Speaker B: And we'll see you in the next episode.
[01:07:25] Speaker C: Bye.
[01:07:26] Speaker D: Human screech.

[01:08:18] Speaker D: I'm just gonna grab his timeline and move it along until I can find a space that I haven't seen yet and that he doesn't remember. Just rip it out and just kind of awkwardly stare at him the entire time.
[01:08:31] Speaker A: Stop doing that.
[01:08:34] Speaker C: Find a different head motion.
[01:08:38] Speaker A: Never.
[01:08:40] Speaker C: Sven's just staring at you like, stop. Please just stop doing that.
[01:08:46] Speaker B: I have a question too. Does your hair have to be shirtless for this?
[01:08:49] Speaker D: Oh, of course.
I'm sorry. There's nothing there for me to actually grab.
[01:08:57] Speaker F: I was only halfway listening, so for some reason I was imagining you going through the time.
[01:09:01] Speaker D: Jacob, no.
Jacob, turn it off before Emmy puts back on her headphones.
