[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part. Such as, like comment rate and don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time. [00:00:31] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off? Ah, yes. After traveling back in time to prevent his uncle's death, Alward realized that his actions could not truly alter his past, and he reluctantly returned the timeline to normal. [00:01:01] Speaker C: That was very wet. [00:01:03] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. Do you need the Heimlich? [00:01:09] Speaker C: No, he needs some hot coffee. [00:01:11] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. [00:01:12] Speaker B: This is our third smug related legit. [00:01:14] Speaker D: Are you okay? [00:01:16] Speaker A: Oh, I'm a little light headed now, but I'm good. [00:01:18] Speaker D: Are you sure you're good? [00:01:19] Speaker A: Yep. That was a bad choice I made. Oh, no, that was a bad choice. [00:01:24] Speaker D: That was commitment to the bit. Ladies and gentlemen, it's for the lulls. [00:01:30] Speaker A: That wasn't a bit. [00:01:31] Speaker C: It's for the lulls. [00:01:34] Speaker D: Careful with that water. [00:01:36] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:01:38] Speaker D: Water is so dangerous. [00:01:40] Speaker A: It really is. It can kill you. [00:01:42] Speaker D: It can if you don't have enough. If you have too much, too little, too much. [00:01:48] Speaker A: You got a perfect amount of water. [00:01:49] Speaker D: Yeah, it's like a goldilocks thing. Oh, my gosh. Is he gonna be okay? [00:01:57] Speaker A: I ask myself that every day in the mirror. [00:01:59] Speaker B: Oh, no, that reminds me. Oh, wow. That was like a roller coaster of thoughts. So have you ever heard of. Oh, no, I left the roller coaster behind. There's a guy, he's a musical artist. He makes music. Cody Fry. [00:02:18] Speaker C: Oh, I love him. [00:02:18] Speaker B: Yes. [00:02:19] Speaker D: How did we get here from water? [00:02:22] Speaker B: So Cody Fry has a song called you're gonna be okay. And it's like. It's a really, like, sweet, sort of like just hang in there kind of song. Like if you're in a downtime. But then I was like, I want to talk about Cody Fry. Because his music. The best thing I can use to describe it is pop. Orchestral. [00:02:39] Speaker A: Ooh. [00:02:39] Speaker D: It is quite nice. [00:02:40] Speaker A: It's beautiful. I will have to look him up. [00:02:43] Speaker C: I think one of my favorite songs. I can't remember the name of it, but it's. I'll look it up. You go ahead. [00:02:50] Speaker B: I. One of my characters. Oh, Jenkins, you know this character Jim from Sam's campaign. [00:02:54] Speaker A: He died so fast. [00:02:56] Speaker B: He was inspired by Cody Fry's song sailboat. [00:03:02] Speaker A: I like how you say, I don't know who Cody Fry is. [00:03:05] Speaker B: The song. The gist of the song is, like, the chorus is, I'm out on these waves night after night, praying some wind will drive me home. And, like, the idea is that you're like, you know, you're at the mercy of just wherever your life will take you. You know where you want to get, and you don't know how to get there. [00:03:24] Speaker A: It's a mood. Yeah. Did Jim die fast or was he the one that stuck around for a bit? [00:03:28] Speaker B: He stuck around for a good bit. He made it to the final boss, and as the building was collapsing, a chunk of rock from the ceiling crushed him as everybody was jumping into the portal. [00:03:37] Speaker A: Ah, beautiful. [00:03:39] Speaker B: He was not the character who died to Phantasmal Killer while flying. [00:03:42] Speaker A: That was so good. [00:03:43] Speaker B: And rolled down the stairs. Nor was he the character who got skinned alive in the final boss. He survived. [00:03:48] Speaker D: Oh, gosh. [00:03:50] Speaker A: Nor was he the character that got stabbed a lot by a bunch of orcs. [00:03:55] Speaker B: Yeah. Although one of the characters in that fight was being stabbed by a goblin. Every time he got revived and tried to sit up, the goblin critted him and downed him again. [00:04:07] Speaker D: This sounds like the most violent campaign. [00:04:10] Speaker A: It was such a good thing. [00:04:12] Speaker C: The song was Waltz for Sweatpants. Love it. [00:04:16] Speaker D: That's a good. [00:04:16] Speaker A: How have I not heard of this man? [00:04:18] Speaker B: Oh, you'll like his music. [00:04:19] Speaker D: I had never heard of him until we start. We? Me, Jordy and I started dating and then he introduced me to Cody Fry. And it is quite nice. [00:04:30] Speaker C: I think the first song I heard was like. It was a TikTok trend. It was the Mrs. Robinson, I think. Was it Mrs. Robinson? [00:04:38] Speaker B: Was it his orchestral rendition of Eleanor Rigby? [00:04:42] Speaker C: Eleanor Rigby. It starts with an R. That's her name. Yeah, Rigby. Yeah. [00:04:47] Speaker A: Nice. [00:04:48] Speaker C: And then I like symphony, too. I don't remember if it's called symphony. [00:04:51] Speaker B: Oh, I hear a symphony. [00:04:52] Speaker C: I hear a symphony. Oh, it's beautiful. And I love that he actually goes and out the symphony orchestra. I don't know. One of those things that has a lot of instruments. [00:05:04] Speaker B: Yeah. Good music. If you're. If you're in the discord and you know Cody Fry, tell me your thoughts. I will. I will hear out, but I will not accept critical thoughts. [00:05:13] Speaker C: Oh, and if you like French horn. Because he really likes French horns. [00:05:16] Speaker D: I love French horns. I think that was one of my first comments when we were listening to Cody Fry was the fact that I could actually hear the French horns and that he featured them a lot. And I loved it because I love a good French horn. [00:05:30] Speaker C: He also goes through on his YouTube channel. He'll go through his scores and, like, follow along. You can. You can see what. See what he's put in there. He'll put little Comments on it and just kind of play along. It's really fun. He loves French horns. He puts that in a couple of videos. [00:05:45] Speaker A: I bet he played it in high school. Could be. [00:05:48] Speaker D: Who's to say? [00:05:49] Speaker A: I'm to say. [00:05:50] Speaker C: Okay, Cody Fry is to say. [00:05:53] Speaker D: Let's go ask him. [00:05:55] Speaker B: All right, hang on, guys. [00:05:55] Speaker C: Photograph. I think that's another good one. I think that's a good one. [00:05:59] Speaker B: Oh, photograph. I love that one. [00:06:01] Speaker D: Not the Ed Sheeran song. [00:06:03] Speaker C: No, no, the good one. [00:06:04] Speaker A: Or the Nickelback song. [00:06:05] Speaker D: Or the Nickelback song. Look at this graft. Smiling blankly into the distance. [00:06:19] Speaker A: I just want to mention Cosmo Shell Drake, because I love Cosmo Sheldrake. [00:06:22] Speaker B: Talk about Cosmo Sheldrake. [00:06:24] Speaker C: How do you spell that? [00:06:25] Speaker A: Cosmo Sheldrake. [00:06:26] Speaker C: Cosmo Sheldrake. [00:06:29] Speaker D: What's Cosmo Sheldrake? [00:06:31] Speaker C: Drek Drake. [00:06:33] Speaker A: It's a song person. [00:06:34] Speaker C: I spelled it right. [00:06:36] Speaker A: So unlike anything that you've talked about. The best way I can describe him is cerebral. [00:06:42] Speaker B: Oh, I love cerebral things like he. [00:06:46] Speaker A: One of my favorite songs by him was. Which isn't that cerebral, shockingly, is does the Swallow Dream of Flying? And then there's another one called. Oh, goodness, is it Tardigrade Waltz? [00:07:01] Speaker C: Yes. [00:07:02] Speaker D: Tardigrade Waltz. [00:07:04] Speaker A: Yeah. His songs are essentially about death, water bears. [00:07:07] Speaker C: He is the son of a parapsychologist and the brother of a mycologist, which I don't know what a mycologist is, [00:07:12] Speaker B: and I think he used They're Fun people. [00:07:17] Speaker A: I could be wrong when I say this, but I think he uses an instrument that, like, takes sound from, like, the world and uses that in his music. I forgot what it's called there. [00:07:28] Speaker C: I prefer otherworldly sounds. Jenkins. [00:07:33] Speaker A: I really like his music. My favorite one of his right now, apart from does the Swallow Dream of Flying? Is Wriggle. [00:07:41] Speaker D: Wriggle. [00:07:41] Speaker A: Yep. [00:07:42] Speaker C: Cause for effect. Wriggle, Wriggle, Wriggle. [00:07:46] Speaker D: Is it anything close to wibbling? [00:07:49] Speaker A: Kinda. It's like a worm. Okay, like I said, his songs are primarily about death. [00:07:54] Speaker C: I don't think I've ever seen a genre be called natural sounds. [00:07:58] Speaker A: It's good. It's real good. [00:08:00] Speaker B: His Wikipedia lists four genres he writes in. Electronic, indie, Folktronica, and Baroque pop. [00:08:09] Speaker D: Baroque pop. [00:08:10] Speaker C: Well, you know what they say. If it ain't baroque, don't fix it. [00:08:12] Speaker A: So I will listen to Cody Fry. You all must listen to Cosmo Shell Drop. [00:08:18] Speaker B: I've gotta make a note so I don't forget I sent you. Basically every time you're like, you need to Listen to this artist. I'm like, that's so interesting. And then I just completely forget about it. [00:08:27] Speaker A: It's so good. Palindrome, I think, is what the instruments. No, that's not right. [00:08:33] Speaker D: No, a palindrome is a word. It's the same forward melon backwards as it is forwards. [00:08:37] Speaker B: I mean, the only thing English. So the only thing I can think of. [00:08:41] Speaker A: Mellotron. [00:08:42] Speaker B: A melotron. [00:08:43] Speaker A: Mellotron. [00:08:44] Speaker D: A melotron. [00:08:46] Speaker C: That is the middle between the Autobots and Decepticons. [00:08:51] Speaker D: Mellow. [00:08:53] Speaker B: That kind of taking sound. So it's like a sampler, I think. Okay. [00:08:57] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:08:57] Speaker B: I was thinking of a synthesizer. I was back in college because, you guys know I went to college for composing music. I went to a composition masterclass once, and the composer who was showing off what she was working on had set up a thing where it was like, electronic music, and all of the music was played by sampled sounds that she would trigger by touching gourds that were wired into the system. [00:09:25] Speaker A: That's so artsy. [00:09:27] Speaker C: I think I. [00:09:28] Speaker A: Like. [00:09:29] Speaker C: There's a. There's one of those kits that kids do. I'm not trying to infantize it, but there's a little kit where you can put little clips on anything, basically, and turn it into a piano. I don't remember what it's called or anything. [00:09:44] Speaker A: I know what you're talking about. [00:09:45] Speaker C: Yeah, I've seen those before. And they say it's really cool. Current science. [00:09:51] Speaker B: Speaking of current, let's jump back to our current time away from the back in time. [00:09:58] Speaker C: We're in the past. [00:09:59] Speaker A: That was good. That was good. [00:10:02] Speaker B: We're gonna go ahead and pick things up right where we left off. Alward has just blopped out of existence. Out of the courtyard in the sky castle. Neros is walking just back into her bedroom. And Zafir had just turned around to be like. And another thing. And Alward is gone. Just to be clear, neither of you have any memories of your experiences back in time at this point? [00:10:31] Speaker D: Cool. Love it. [00:10:33] Speaker C: Wait, what do I see when I round the corner? [00:10:36] Speaker B: So you turned around and you're like. And another thing. And you see nothing in the. Not the courtyard, but the banquet hall. And then Alward leaps back into existence again. But now he's just standing there, like, in a trance. [00:10:49] Speaker C: He immediately just. Would you stop doing that? I can't even. Outward, Outward. Ugh. Well, I guess Neros went back to sleep. I'm glad I didn't drink that coffee. That was gross. I really gotta stop talking to myself. [00:11:19] Speaker B: As you're standing there, you hear a distant sound far away. Sort of like the baying of a hound. [00:11:33] Speaker D: Oh my gosh. [00:11:36] Speaker C: And that's where we'll end. [00:11:39] Speaker D: 3 minute episode. Woo. [00:11:41] Speaker A: Last one went real long. [00:11:44] Speaker C: Alred Alward. No, this is serious this time. Look, I'm still mad at you, but I. I'm gonna run up and poke him. [00:11:55] Speaker B: There doesn't seem to be any reaction. He just kinda moves a little bit. [00:12:00] Speaker C: Stay there. Good. And he runs to go get Nero's. Knock, knock, knock on your door with a nudge, nudge, wink, wink in wrong order. [00:12:13] Speaker D: Oh my gosh. What? [00:12:15] Speaker C: Alwood blinked out of existence and now he's just standing there like a statue. [00:12:18] Speaker B: And I heard the hounds almost as on cue. Now both of you hear the baying of a hound much closer. [00:12:28] Speaker A: This is the first time Neros has heard the hound. [00:12:31] Speaker D: Yep. Neros mumbles a few expletives and puts her shoes on and her vest and grabs her satchel and opens the door. [00:12:45] Speaker C: I don't remember the last time I saw these, but at one of the points. Wait, you didn't see them, did you? No, that was out of character. But that's okay. The last time I saw one of these I believe it tried to eat his face and then everything. [00:13:01] Speaker D: It tried to eat his face? [00:13:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:13:03] Speaker D: Where is Elwood now? [00:13:06] Speaker C: Well, standing still in the middle of the quitting room. It's what it's called the banqueting room. Yeah, it was the banqueting room. But one thing that let's go to. [00:13:15] Speaker D: Well, hopefully he doesn't quit life. Then I start sprinting over there. [00:13:21] Speaker C: I. It's not very far so I'm just gonna walk. [00:13:25] Speaker B: So Neros, then you get to the door first. Just you know, it's not very far. So a few steps ahead of Zafir and as you come in you see as Zafir had Alward just kind of standing in the middle of the room, just completely zoned out, just as if in a trance, staring off into space. And you see opposite him, coming around the corner of the door on the other side is this strange creature. [00:13:54] Speaker D: Oh, that's what they look like. [00:13:56] Speaker C: Oh. [00:13:57] Speaker A: Oh, sorry. [00:13:58] Speaker C: Oh, that's just. [00:14:00] Speaker D: That's not a friend. That's a friend. That is not a friend. [00:14:02] Speaker A: What are you talking? That's a good guy. [00:14:04] Speaker D: That is a foe. [00:14:05] Speaker C: That's Spiky McKinney. [00:14:07] Speaker D: Spiky and salivatey. And it looks a little electric that [00:14:11] Speaker A: I want to give it a name, but I won't for the sake of you Guys. [00:14:13] Speaker C: Colin. Spike. [00:14:14] Speaker D: It has like a tentacle on the end on like as its tongue or something. [00:14:19] Speaker A: Yeah, it has a spirit spike at the end of its tongue. [00:14:21] Speaker D: I don't like it. [00:14:23] Speaker A: He's a good guy. [00:14:23] Speaker D: That's disgusting. [00:14:25] Speaker B: So as you're looking at this strange creature, you know those descriptions you gave of like this sort of like a slimy skin that's tautly stretched over a strange alien skeleton, spines along its back and along its front legs. Hound seems like a word you could use. If you hadn't heard the noises it was making in the distance as it was approaching, you probably wouldn't have thought of that word. But it's kind of hound shaped, but really it's more of just wrong. It's just wrong. Everything about it is wrong. And it's slowly creeping towards Alward. I'd like both of the two of you, Neros and Zafir, to roll Initiative. [00:15:12] Speaker D: Okay. I'm not gonna do what I wanted to do. Then that's fine. [00:15:15] Speaker B: What is the thing you wanted to do? [00:15:17] Speaker D: Nope, we're past it now. [00:15:18] Speaker A: I'm in a trance. My guy. I am. Well, the. Not McGuffin. That's the wrong word. [00:15:25] Speaker C: I rolled a four. [00:15:26] Speaker D: What I wanted to do was run up to Al Word and smack him in the face to try and wake him up. [00:15:33] Speaker B: Oh. Because of the situation, you will have to do that in Initiative. [00:15:37] Speaker D: Yeah. Huh? [00:15:39] Speaker A: Oh, gosh. [00:15:40] Speaker D: There go I go with my D20. Hang on. [00:15:42] Speaker B: While Abby's retrieving her D20. Zafir, what did you get? [00:15:45] Speaker C: I27. I rolled a four. I'm doing that. [00:15:52] Speaker B: Right. [00:15:52] Speaker C: I have a plus two initiative. Right. [00:15:54] Speaker B: I imagine you took improved initiative as a feat. [00:15:56] Speaker C: Probably. I'm just asking if I'm doing it right. You know, it's only been like 100 and something episodes. Hi, I'm back. [00:16:04] Speaker B: Hi. [00:16:05] Speaker D: I got my D20 back. [00:16:06] Speaker C: Hi, I'm. [00:16:07] Speaker B: What did you get for your initiative? [00:16:09] Speaker D: 37. [00:16:10] Speaker B: 37. [00:16:11] Speaker D: Like I said, not great. [00:16:12] Speaker B: But in that case, Neros, you see this strange creature on the other side of the room moving towards Alward, and you go first. [00:16:21] Speaker D: Oh, geez. Anything. Okay. What would Neros do? [00:16:32] Speaker C: Wwnd. [00:16:35] Speaker D: Oh, goodness. Let's have a little fun. First. I'd like to recall knowledge. [00:16:42] Speaker B: Let's see. Your options would be occultism or any applicable lore. [00:16:49] Speaker D: I have gossip and underworld lore. [00:16:52] Speaker B: Gossip, lore could work. What's your bonus? [00:16:56] Speaker D: 18 [00:16:58] Speaker B: on a critical success. [00:17:01] Speaker D: Like, for realsies? [00:17:02] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:17:05] Speaker D: I don't believe you. [00:17:08] Speaker B: You recognize this creature as a hound of Tindalos? [00:17:12] Speaker D: Hound of Thanos. What? [00:17:15] Speaker B: Tindalos. Nobody knows what Tindalos is, but these creatures are referenced as being Hounds of Tyndalos in several ancient and esoteric manuscripts as being creatures from outside of time that would hunt those who would alter it. [00:17:35] Speaker D: I mean, that seems to. Seems to track. [00:17:40] Speaker B: This is a level 8 creature, and you may ask two questions. [00:17:44] Speaker D: Sorry, I'm writing information. [00:17:46] Speaker C: Have you guys ever heard of the langoliers? [00:17:49] Speaker A: That sounds familiar. [00:17:50] Speaker D: Familiar? [00:17:50] Speaker C: It's a Stephen King thing. They eat the past. [00:17:53] Speaker D: You said two questions. [00:17:55] Speaker B: Two questions. [00:17:56] Speaker D: Resistances. [00:17:57] Speaker B: They have resistance to mental damage, physical damage, and poison. [00:18:03] Speaker C: Dang, fine. [00:18:04] Speaker B: Physical bludgeoning, piercing, slashing. [00:18:07] Speaker D: Oh, goody. [00:18:09] Speaker C: We're both casters. [00:18:10] Speaker D: Mental, physical. [00:18:11] Speaker B: And poison. [00:18:12] Speaker D: And poison. That's just resistances. So that's not. They're not immune to it, but I have something that could hurt them. [00:18:23] Speaker B: Immunities, the controlled condition, and any emotion effects. [00:18:29] Speaker D: Okay, let's just pretend my knuckles cracked when I did that. They are 35ft away. [00:18:40] Speaker B: Yes. [00:18:41] Speaker D: So I would like to. Nope. I won't have the action economy. Oh, you are just out of reach, my friend. Can you just, like, step up five feet? Oh, I can do this, though. I'm going to step up 1 square 5ft. [00:19:04] Speaker B: I don't want to break your chain of thought. [00:19:06] Speaker D: You're gonna. You're gonna tell me I can't do this. Can you? [00:19:08] Speaker B: I want to give you some information that may or may not change your decision. As you step into that space, you suddenly feel just like prickling, tingling pain on your arms. And if you look down, you see just random gashes and wounds start. [00:19:31] Speaker D: I don't like that. [00:19:33] Speaker A: I think I know what that is. I won't know, but I think I know. [00:19:37] Speaker D: Are you the cause of this? [00:19:39] Speaker A: I mean, I'm the cause of the hound. I think. [00:19:41] Speaker D: What's. What's happening to me? [00:19:43] Speaker A: I am in a trance. [00:19:45] Speaker D: Okay, that's not what she asked. I'm still gonna do this. The cost of Neros health. It's fine. I'm gonna use quickened casting, which is a free action, and so it'll only cost me one more action to cast shadow blast on this creature. [00:20:07] Speaker B: All right, what save do I need to make? [00:20:10] Speaker D: Basic reflex or will? [00:20:13] Speaker A: Okay. [00:20:13] Speaker B: My DC is 31, a regular success. [00:20:20] Speaker D: I don't like it when you do that. [00:20:23] Speaker B: What kind of damage are you choosing? [00:20:25] Speaker D: Spirit. They take half damage, right? [00:20:28] Speaker B: Yeah, just half damage. [00:20:29] Speaker A: Okay. I'm so interested to know what happens if I die. [00:20:36] Speaker C: I bet the hounds would disappear. [00:20:37] Speaker A: The look on Jordy's Face is very concerning. It's basically saying, don't like I have control over it. [00:20:46] Speaker B: I would advise not dying, Albert. [00:20:48] Speaker A: I'll do my best. [00:20:49] Speaker D: While I'm in a Trance, that's 12 damage already halved. [00:20:53] Speaker B: All right. [00:20:54] Speaker D: I did not roll. Great. [00:20:57] Speaker A: Unfortunate. [00:20:58] Speaker D: I. I mean, the damage is 68. I rolled 24 total, divided by two. Like, I did not roll. Well, yeah, that is my turn. [00:21:08] Speaker B: All right, it is now the Hound's turn. Neros. The Hound moves its eyes towards you, and technically, as you end your turn, it's just staring at you. And you feel those gashes on your arms open up as possibly potential wounds that you could take in your future or maybe in alternate futures. [00:21:30] Speaker A: I was right. [00:21:32] Speaker B: And you take 21 slashing damage, but you get a fortitude save. So go ahead and make a fortitude save. [00:21:41] Speaker D: Thankfully, fortitude is my best one. 39. [00:21:46] Speaker B: I spoke too soon. Neros, you are hardy enough that these gashes start opening, but as you look down, there's no blood leaking out of them, and you're able to just grit your teeth and power through. You take no damage. [00:22:00] Speaker D: Okay. [00:22:01] Speaker B: And you don't need to worry about making saves against this effect moving forward. [00:22:04] Speaker C: Forward. [00:22:04] Speaker D: Oh, really? [00:22:05] Speaker B: Well, that's nice, because you critically succeeded that save. [00:22:09] Speaker D: Okay, so the DC is at least [00:22:12] Speaker B: 29 as the Hound begins its turn. The creature's staring at you, Neros. And it kind of tilts its head and then slips into the corner between the floor and the wall. [00:22:25] Speaker D: Love it. [00:22:26] Speaker B: And slides out of the corner between the floor and the wall next to you. [00:22:30] Speaker D: Great. [00:22:32] Speaker B: And then chomps down at you. [00:22:34] Speaker D: Delicious. Bring it. Hit me. [00:22:38] Speaker C: Did you just call yourself delicious? [00:22:40] Speaker D: Yes, technically, I guess so. [00:22:46] Speaker B: 32 to hit meets it Beats it. [00:22:50] Speaker D: I was about to say no, but then I looked at my ac. How many dice you rolling over there, bro? [00:22:58] Speaker B: I picked up the wrong ones first. [00:23:00] Speaker D: Uh huh, sure. [00:23:01] Speaker B: 19 piercing damage. [00:23:03] Speaker D: Okay. [00:23:04] Speaker B: And then it's. It's gonna try and bite you again. [00:23:07] Speaker D: Okay. [00:23:09] Speaker B: No. [00:23:10] Speaker D: 17, get out of here. [00:23:13] Speaker B: Zafir, you are up next. [00:23:16] Speaker D: I'm kind of blocking the door. [00:23:18] Speaker C: Very bad vantage point. What can I see? [00:23:23] Speaker B: From where I'm at, you can see pretty much all of Neros, and you can kind of see like half of the Hound and it can see you, so you're also feeling those wounds beginning to open up. [00:23:35] Speaker D: And you did hear her cast a spell. [00:23:39] Speaker C: Wondering if I should go up north and do a wrap around. [00:23:43] Speaker A: You can do your shadow. [00:23:44] Speaker C: Teleport, maybe, depending on how bright the room is. I was thinking about that But I don't know. [00:23:49] Speaker D: What time of day is it? [00:23:51] Speaker B: I believe it's still like 9:30 in the morning. [00:23:53] Speaker C: Mm. [00:23:54] Speaker A: He only needs dim light. [00:23:56] Speaker B: Yeah, it's just gotta be a shadow. [00:23:57] Speaker A: Okay, so we're casting shadows somewhere. There has to be a shadow somewhere in that room. [00:24:03] Speaker B: The question is, I don't think that there is a effective shadow that you can currently see. That's on the other side of Neros. [00:24:11] Speaker C: See, that's what I was thinking about. [00:24:13] Speaker B: I mean, one stride action will let you walk past Neros and be right into the middle of the room. [00:24:17] Speaker D: Again, Nero's is probably casting a shadow somewhere. [00:24:21] Speaker C: I want to be here. [00:24:22] Speaker B: Okay, so Zafir, then you run into the room just past Neros. So you're still adjacent to the hound and just like 10ft away from Alward, who's still standing there in a trance. [00:24:33] Speaker C: So I'm going to run up to where that is and then I'm going to pull back and let my arrow fly. [00:24:40] Speaker B: Hopefully it hits point blank shot. [00:24:43] Speaker C: Yeah, if I miss, then I'm throwing my bow away. No, I'm not gonna do that. My dad gave it to me. Sorry, I forgot what number to look at.32 to hit. [00:24:54] Speaker B: That is a hit. [00:24:56] Speaker C: Okay, cool. So I have infused that with ignite ignition Ignacio. [00:25:04] Speaker D: Nothing like trying to fight things on my castle. [00:25:08] Speaker C: How do you even get there? [00:25:09] Speaker D: Well, Alward did just do a thing. [00:25:13] Speaker A: It's a time dog. It does what it wants. [00:25:16] Speaker C: So 16 plus 4 fire damage. And then I need to do the bow. I forgot about that. 13. Yes, 13. [00:25:30] Speaker B: Okay, 13 bow damage. [00:25:32] Speaker C: Yeah, well, arrow, but you know. [00:25:34] Speaker B: So the fire damage seems to affect him exactly as you'd expect. But the arrow seems to mostly just glance off his body like it doesn't really even matter. But between the combined efforts of Neros and Zafir, the thing seems to be kind of feeling the effects of the damage. Bloodied, as it were. Although it's not bleeding. [00:25:55] Speaker C: Question, am I bleeding? [00:25:57] Speaker B: Good question. Make a fortitude save. [00:26:00] Speaker C: I'm glad I asked. [00:26:03] Speaker D: You know, if you had didn't bring it up, he might have forgotten about. [00:26:06] Speaker A: Do we have homework? [00:26:09] Speaker C: 29. [00:26:10] Speaker B: With a 29, that's not a critical success. So you will still take some damage. [00:26:14] Speaker C: Okay, [00:26:17] Speaker B: a total of 15. But you only take half. So you take seven slashing damage. [00:26:22] Speaker C: That's just not fair. Rounding up. That's not fair. [00:26:24] Speaker B: That's rounding down. [00:26:27] Speaker C: I can't do math. Let's move on. [00:26:29] Speaker A: That's not fair. [00:26:31] Speaker B: As these bloodless wounds are now opening on Your arms and your body, Albert. [00:26:38] Speaker A: Me? [00:26:39] Speaker B: Make an occultism check break out of it. [00:26:42] Speaker D: Dude, I don't know if that's how you're gonna break out of it, but [00:26:45] Speaker A: it would be nice real fast. I have to know. Am I suffering either the immobilized, paralyzed, or slowed condition? [00:26:56] Speaker B: Not from your perspective. [00:26:58] Speaker A: Okay. [00:26:58] Speaker B: Because right now, you're back in time. So the occultism check is to see how fast you can get this done in real time. [00:27:05] Speaker A: Gotcha. Okay. Okay. I'm going to assume I can't use my normal time shenanigans right now. [00:27:13] Speaker B: Not in this case, no. [00:27:15] Speaker A: I'm gonna go ahead and use a hero point. [00:27:19] Speaker B: What'd you get on your original die roll? [00:27:21] Speaker A: It was a five. Oh, now it's a 15 plus. That is a 40, right? 15 plus 25. Not insane. It's a 44 zero. [00:27:33] Speaker D: Yes, sir. [00:27:33] Speaker A: Okay. [00:27:34] Speaker D: That is correct. [00:27:36] Speaker B: Well, now I'm wishing I'd set a higher dc. [00:27:41] Speaker D: That would be cheating. [00:27:43] Speaker B: Albert. [00:27:44] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:27:45] Speaker B: You suddenly break out of this trance, and you are standing in the the main banquet hall. You have all of the memories of everything that happened in the previous episode. Suddenly, Neros and Zafir. You also remember everything that happened in the previous episode as two parallel times. And you just remember both. Albert, you feel cuts beginning to open on your arms. [00:28:18] Speaker A: Ower's gonna look around. What's happening? [00:28:22] Speaker D: Creature. [00:28:23] Speaker A: Right? And he's gonna see the creature be a little scared because he doesn't know what it is. Just kill it. And he's going to amp a telekinetic projectile. [00:28:36] Speaker B: I feel like a little scared of a hound of Tintalos is an underreaction action. [00:28:40] Speaker A: Yeah, but, you know, we've seen Fafnir, so that's true. [00:28:47] Speaker D: We have fought scary things. We all have trauma. Are you okay? [00:28:55] Speaker A: I'm gonna use my. Wait, I don't think I can use my time shenanigans for this. Give me a second. Let me double check. [00:29:01] Speaker D: Do you want to worsen the hound problem? [00:29:04] Speaker A: Do you want me to hit the hound or not? [00:29:07] Speaker D: Yeah, but at what cost? [00:29:10] Speaker A: A reaction. [00:29:11] Speaker D: You know. You know what this thing is, right? [00:29:13] Speaker A: No, I don't. [00:29:15] Speaker B: That's true. Albert does not know what this is. [00:29:18] Speaker A: No, it's a skill check, so I can't do that. 27 to hit meets. [00:29:24] Speaker B: It beats it. [00:29:25] Speaker D: Oh, nice. It is only level eight, guys. [00:29:30] Speaker A: Oh, that's true. I forgot. It's so terrifying. [00:29:33] Speaker D: I know. [00:29:34] Speaker A: Okay, so with the telekinetic projectile amped. I do. 14 D6. [00:29:39] Speaker D: Do you want some D6? [00:29:40] Speaker A: Ben 2:4, 6, 8, 10. [00:29:46] Speaker C: How many do you need? [00:29:47] Speaker A: I need four more. [00:29:49] Speaker C: Three. Oh, I was literally sorry. Okay. Yeah, you can. [00:29:53] Speaker D: How many you need? [00:29:54] Speaker A: Two. [00:29:55] Speaker D: I was prepared. [00:29:56] Speaker A: Okay, I'm gonna roll yours first because some of yours looks a little bit like petites Fair. Okay. Average damage from your dice. [00:30:05] Speaker D: Sorry. [00:30:06] Speaker A: It's okay. [00:30:09] Speaker D: It's a good sound. [00:30:11] Speaker C: That was a great sound. [00:30:13] Speaker A: All right, 44 damage, and he's pushed five feet back alward. [00:30:17] Speaker B: You cast this telekinetic projectile, and for a moment, all three of you see the wall next to this thing just sl. Slam down on top of it, and then it just pops back up into place, and the creature is somehow just five feet further away. Just like incongruity of how does this happen? [00:30:41] Speaker C: Made the old switcheroo with the wall or the floor. [00:30:45] Speaker A: Our just standing there confused. And then looks at Nero's like, you got this. And gives you guidance. [00:30:52] Speaker D: Oh, okay. [00:30:54] Speaker B: Runs out of the room. [00:30:56] Speaker D: No, I will come back outward. [00:30:59] Speaker B: That's the end of your turn. Yeah, make it fortitude save. [00:31:02] Speaker A: Oh, crap. I knew this was happening, and I forgot. Where's my dice? I need to give you your dice back. [00:31:09] Speaker B: Go ahead and give yourself a plus one bonus, because where you pushed him to, he does not have a full view of you. [00:31:16] Speaker A: Got it. Here's my dice. 27. I'm not fortuitous success. [00:31:25] Speaker B: But you'll still take half damage. Okay, you take nine. Slashing damage. [00:31:31] Speaker A: No lie. That is where I moved my damage to. [00:31:34] Speaker B: Wow. [00:31:35] Speaker A: I can see the future. [00:31:37] Speaker D: No, he's becoming lward. [00:31:40] Speaker B: Did you see this coming? Neros, it's your turn. [00:31:43] Speaker A: I did? Yeah. [00:31:45] Speaker D: The initiative tracker's right there. Ooh, what do I want to do? What do. I was not, you know, expecting someone to come back to consciousness. [00:31:57] Speaker A: I also wasn't expecting myself to come back to consciousness. [00:32:00] Speaker D: And this thing. You know what? You know what? You know what? I'm just gonna cast another shadow blast in it, so I need reflex or will. [00:32:11] Speaker B: All right, I'm gonna use this die I was given as a gift recently. [00:32:16] Speaker A: If it has my luck, it's gonna roll on at one. [00:32:19] Speaker D: Did you roll in at 20 close? I'm 19. [00:32:23] Speaker B: One die. Face away was an at 20. [00:32:26] Speaker A: Okay, so that's not so a total of 27. [00:32:30] Speaker D: No, that's a regular fail friend. [00:32:33] Speaker C: Three other faces it could have been. [00:32:35] Speaker D: Okay, let me gather my D8s again. [00:32:40] Speaker B: You're Shadow blasting with spirit damage, correct? [00:32:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I guess I should specify that for you and for the audience. Okay, I am suck at rolling tonight. You failed Right. [00:33:01] Speaker B: I did. [00:33:02] Speaker D: You know. You want to know something fun? I rolled less damage than I did last time. That's 21 points of damage. [00:33:09] Speaker A: I thought you meant as you rolled less than your halved amount. And I was about to be like. [00:33:14] Speaker D: I mean, talent. That's how. [00:33:17] Speaker B: 21. [00:33:18] Speaker D: Yes. [00:33:18] Speaker A: 2. [00:33:19] Speaker B: 1. [00:33:19] Speaker D: 2, 1. 21 points of spirit. Dimage. [00:33:25] Speaker B: As your spell batters this creature. Creature. It convulses, falls on its side, and then just kind of curls up like a dead insect. And then even as you're watching, seems like suddenly centuries of time catch up with it as it begins to decay and turn to dust. And then even its bones and spines just dissipate in front of you and blow away into the wind and will take us out of initiative as you rolled the exact number of hit points at headline. [00:33:59] Speaker D: That's amazing. [00:34:02] Speaker A: I can't help but think I have to apologize for that as well. [00:34:05] Speaker D: Yeah. I think that was your doing. [00:34:08] Speaker A: Sorry? [00:34:09] Speaker D: That thing, from what I've heard, I've never seen one in person, but I've heard stories that it hunts down things that mess with the timelines. [00:34:19] Speaker C: Yes. [00:34:20] Speaker D: And eats them. [00:34:21] Speaker A: It ate my face in a different timeline. [00:34:25] Speaker D: Okay. So you are aware? [00:34:29] Speaker A: Kind of. [00:34:32] Speaker D: Are you all right? [00:34:34] Speaker A: I'm. I'm. I'm fine. Are you guys okay? [00:34:37] Speaker D: As far as I know. [00:34:38] Speaker A: All the memories. [00:34:42] Speaker C: Why do I sound like I have a weird accent in my head? [00:34:46] Speaker D: Because you did. [00:34:47] Speaker A: Yeah, you kind of chose that. [00:34:50] Speaker C: I guess I would. [00:34:52] Speaker A: I know I. You said you wouldn't tell my mom. [00:34:55] Speaker D: But I won't tell your mom. [00:34:57] Speaker A: Don't tell Val. [00:34:59] Speaker D: I won't tell Val. [00:35:00] Speaker A: Okay. She can't. [00:35:03] Speaker D: She can't handle the truth. [00:35:06] Speaker C: So what do we. I mean, I guess we don't have to clean up, but we don't have [00:35:11] Speaker D: to tell them anything. [00:35:14] Speaker C: I can't really wrap my head around what's going on. [00:35:18] Speaker A: What part confuses you? [00:35:20] Speaker C: Well, the fact that two happened. Two parts happened at the same time. And now I remember all of it. Even though I said I wouldn't be able to do that, or we shouldn't do that. I think that's what I said. [00:35:34] Speaker A: It's because you, from Icast time sense 15 seconds ago, and you went with me unexpectedly. And was I just standing here the [00:35:48] Speaker D: whole time for the first half of it? Yes. [00:35:51] Speaker C: Yes. I yelled at you a couple of times. I mean, I didn't do that, so [00:35:56] Speaker A: it was like I never did what I did, but I did do what happened. [00:36:01] Speaker C: Well, you did something to the thing, but that's all that you did. [00:36:06] Speaker A: Neros is the one who made it. Poof. [00:36:09] Speaker C: Well, you did. I mean, you did something. The wall, I think. [00:36:14] Speaker A: I don't know how I did that. I was supposed to. I was supposed to throw that pebble. [00:36:20] Speaker C: After everything that just happened, I'm not going to even question how or why that happened. [00:36:29] Speaker B: I want to interject one thing real quick, Jenkins. Alward, based off of the description they gave, you're able to kind of connect the dots of how these things would time out. And you. You see that when you were popped into the space of all times and selecting threads, you were not in the castle. But then as soon as you put yourself back into a timeline, you reappeared back in the castle again. [00:36:54] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. [00:36:55] Speaker B: So only while you were out of time were you gone. [00:36:57] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. [00:36:58] Speaker C: So did we learn a lesson not to mess with time? [00:37:05] Speaker A: I mean, it's still incredibly useful. [00:37:11] Speaker C: Yes, but do you want to be attacked? [00:37:15] Speaker A: We handled it pretty well. [00:37:17] Speaker C: It may not go that well. Next time. [00:37:20] Speaker A: I promise to not change large things and to keep it under what I've been doing. [00:37:28] Speaker C: Neros, does that matter? You apparently know a little bit more than we do. [00:37:32] Speaker D: I only know stories. [00:37:35] Speaker C: Do they talk about large things changing or small things changing? [00:37:40] Speaker D: Mr. GM, [00:37:44] Speaker C: do you need the question again? [00:37:45] Speaker B: I was checking a stat block. Could you ask me again? [00:37:48] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:37:48] Speaker C: So the stories that Neros has heard, is she aware of the hounds? I guess chasing after large changes versus smaller changes? Or both. [00:38:01] Speaker B: Neros, from what you know about the Hounds of Tindalos, typical small alterations to time, especially if it's only affecting your own personal timeline, typically fly under the radar. But the bigger that you start changing things and the more people you involve in your changes, the that's what's really going to draw their attention. You also know, unfortunately you have no further detail than this from what you've heard, but that the Hounds of Tindalos are not the most powerful creatures that will hunt you if you make these changes. [00:38:34] Speaker D: Ah, okay. I relay that information to the both of you. [00:38:38] Speaker A: Yeah. So it should be fine. [00:38:40] Speaker C: That is not the lesson. [00:38:43] Speaker D: Something more powerful comes after you and by proxy, us. [00:38:48] Speaker A: I've been. [00:38:51] Speaker D: No major changes. [00:38:53] Speaker A: I just said I'm not going to [00:38:54] Speaker C: make any or minor changes. Because minors can be big. [00:39:00] Speaker A: It's one of the only ways I'm useful to you all. Just let me help. [00:39:03] Speaker D: I don't think we will be able to convince him to not do the minor changes. As long as we don't go back in the timeline like that again. [00:39:14] Speaker A: At most probably 10 seconds at most. [00:39:19] Speaker C: It's still pretty, pretty big. [00:39:21] Speaker D: At least it's not years. [00:39:22] Speaker C: 10 seconds can literally be the difference between a knife in your throat and getting an ice cream. [00:39:28] Speaker A: Exactly. And I would prefer to always get the ice cream. [00:39:32] Speaker C: But I don't think you'd have to go back in time to do that. [00:39:35] Speaker A: Zephyr, I don't like it. I've died multiple times and I've stopped myself from doing that. I need you to understand that if I don't mess with time, I wouldn't be here. [00:39:47] Speaker D: We do need him. He's very useful. He's very powerful. [00:39:54] Speaker A: I try. [00:39:57] Speaker C: I get that. Outward. I get that. I get that it's self preservation. We all do it. [00:40:05] Speaker A: I've also saved you. [00:40:07] Speaker C: It's true, I guess. I think. But I don't have anything else. I'm done trying. Today feels like it has been a whole nother day. That does bring up a question. How old am I now? [00:40:26] Speaker A: Oh, that doesn't. Mentally speaking, you're an extra two hours. But physically speaking, you're same age. [00:40:35] Speaker C: So does that mean I'm going to. When I die, I'll be brain dead for two hours. [00:40:40] Speaker A: What? No. What? I mean, what. When you die, your brain dead. [00:40:43] Speaker C: What, because I've used up my mentalness? [00:40:47] Speaker A: No, you're not gonna die two hours earlier. [00:40:49] Speaker C: Well, no, my eye will be. I'm gonna go to bed now. I know it's the morning, but I'm tired. [00:40:58] Speaker A: Okay. Are you guys hungry? [00:41:01] Speaker C: No, I'm going to bed. [00:41:03] Speaker D: Yes, I need food. [00:41:06] Speaker A: I'll make some food. [00:41:07] Speaker D: Just spirit blasted the crap out of a creature. [00:41:10] Speaker C: I go to bed, he just lays [00:41:12] Speaker A: down on the floor. [00:41:14] Speaker C: I go to bed now, [00:41:17] Speaker B: as the other two are kind of walking off and you're all going your separate ways to process what has happened. Alward, you've had a moment to think and you're kind of running over events in your mind, just processing everything that you went through. And now you're just realizing that technically you did see that you were bringing Zafir and Neros with you when you went back in time. It's just at the time your mind didn't register that that's what was happening. You didn't realize that's what, what you were seeing. And you're realizing, oh, let's see, I, I grabbed against the golden strands and then I must have grabbed Zafir's. And then you're realizing things are just kind of becoming clear in your mind when you're realizing Zafir's Strand just looked a little bit different from yours. It's still goldish, just a different appearance to it. But Nero's seem to be braided. Two golden strands together. [00:42:20] Speaker A: Like braid, like what do you mean? Twisted together with mine or just with her own? [00:42:26] Speaker B: So there's your threats, Zafir's threats, and then like a helix of Neros threats. [00:42:32] Speaker D: What does that mean? [00:42:34] Speaker B: And that's where we'll end this episode. [00:42:36] Speaker D: No, no no. I want to talk to Neros [00:42:40] Speaker A: rude. [00:42:43] Speaker B: All right. And today's episode, the hero point goes to everybody because you all level up to 14. [00:42:53] Speaker D: Woohoo. [00:42:54] Speaker A: I want to continue playing. [00:42:57] Speaker D: I do too. That didn't seem like a full episode. [00:43:00] Speaker C: I really need to go to the bathroom. [00:43:02] Speaker D: I don't think. I don't think it was a full episode. I think we need to continue. [00:43:06] Speaker B: Oh, look on the bright side. [00:43:07] Speaker D: Side, I'm going to throw my dice [00:43:10] Speaker B: and they can then distract you from talking about what you've learned. [00:43:13] Speaker A: No, I refuse. I don't even know what it means. [00:43:18] Speaker B: Well, I think we should call it here before I get assaulted with dice. [00:43:23] Speaker D: In the meantime, I live with you. [00:43:25] Speaker C: I already put up my dice. [00:43:26] Speaker B: I'm going to go eat some lasagna. [00:43:29] Speaker C: Which one? [00:43:30] Speaker A: It's like from three episodes ago. [00:43:32] Speaker B: Question. You think I'm out of a lasagna by now? We will see you all in the next episode.
