[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part. Such as like comment rate and don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off? [00:00:36] Speaker A: Aa. [00:00:37] Speaker B: Yes. Einar held off the undead horde while the others took on Mother herself. When Mother realized that Neros had magically confused her, she turned towards her with a look of rage. [00:00:57] Speaker C: Yeah. Cause the verb brooch is to raise a sensitive or to the record. [00:01:01] Speaker B: I did not start recording until just now. [00:01:03] Speaker C: Okay, Pierce a cast or draw later. [00:01:07] Speaker A: So we can talk about broaches. We can broach the subject about brooches. [00:01:11] Speaker D: I don't want to talk about broaches anymore. [00:01:13] Speaker B: I want to talk about smart light bulbs. [00:01:15] Speaker D: I hate smart light bulbs. [00:01:17] Speaker C: Light bulbs that know when it's nighttime. [00:01:20] Speaker B: I was buying a new floor lamp the other day and I went to Walmart and I was like, cool, cheap floor lamp. It'll work until it breaks and then I'll get a knife one. And then I was like, oh, I don't have any light bulbs. So I went to the light bulb aisle, which for some reason was like labeled as Autocare. [00:01:33] Speaker D: So I was like, walmart? [00:01:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:01:36] Speaker D: They moved where the light bulbs were to the auto section. [00:01:41] Speaker B: So I found myself in the auto section looking at light bulbs, and I was like, these light bulbs look nice. These light bulbs look horrible. And then I saw one that was a box for a smart light bulb. And I was like, this is only a little bit more expensive than a regular light bulb. And it says that it works wonders, so I'm going to try it. So I took it home and it works wonders. I can control it with my app on my phone. [00:02:04] Speaker C: Gross. [00:02:05] Speaker B: I can turn it off. I can turn it on. I can dim it to percentages, and I can change the color temperature between daylight normal and like warmish yellow gold. [00:02:15] Speaker C: That is kind of cool. [00:02:16] Speaker D: Where is that lamp right now? [00:02:18] Speaker B: I won't. [00:02:19] Speaker D: Is it in this house? [00:02:21] Speaker B: Is the lamp in the room with us? [00:02:24] Speaker D: Is it in the other house? I'm never going over there. I'm never going. [00:02:29] Speaker A: Staring at me menacingly. [00:02:32] Speaker D: I hate you. Disgusting. [00:02:33] Speaker C: Don't know how I feel about smart light bulbs. [00:02:35] Speaker E: I have opinions. [00:02:37] Speaker B: Computer, turn on the light. [00:02:42] Speaker D: That's a smart light bulb. I can't be here. I'm out of here. [00:02:47] Speaker F: That's from the Alexa. [00:02:50] Speaker E: So Jordy. [00:02:50] Speaker D: I hate Alexa. [00:02:51] Speaker E: As a man who has roughly 10 smart light bulbs in his home, his. [00:02:56] Speaker A: House is significantly great. [00:02:58] Speaker E: Okay, they are great until the power goes out. Because then whenever the power comes back on, your Internet doesn't necessarily turn back on. So you have, especially in the middle of the night when there's a tornado or whatever, your lights in your bedroom or your kitchen or your hallway or whatever turns on. And you can't turn them off without unplugging every single appliance. And you have. If. If it's in the ceiling, you have to unscrew it. [00:03:23] Speaker A: Wait, you can't? [00:03:23] Speaker E: Well, okay, you actually have a light switch on this, don't you? I forgot about that. [00:03:26] Speaker A: Don't lamps also have a switch? [00:03:29] Speaker C: Yeah, they do. [00:03:29] Speaker E: You have to either unplug it or turn off the switch. But that's the thing. You have to go to every single light in your house and turn it off. [00:03:37] Speaker B: So you're telling me the price for smart light bulbs is that sometimes, occasionally I have to do them manually. [00:03:44] Speaker C: Sometimes you have to go back to the stone age. [00:03:46] Speaker F: If it's the one lamp, I think he's gonna be okay. [00:03:51] Speaker E: And then here's what makes it even worse. When the Internet comes back on, you have to go around and turn on every single light and then hope that the app reconnects. [00:04:02] Speaker A: Because sometimes that's fair, because then they're permanently dumb. [00:04:07] Speaker E: Also. Well, actually, sometimes they don't. [00:04:10] Speaker A: They don't turn on at all. [00:04:11] Speaker E: They can be smart and dumb sometimes. Sometimes if you have multiple different apps with those light bulbs, they won't intermingle. [00:04:21] Speaker C: Why don't you just buy all one brand? [00:04:24] Speaker E: Because companies go out of business. It's because smart, they stop making things. [00:04:28] Speaker C: Because smart electronics are ultimately pointless. [00:04:31] Speaker B: It's because Sam isn't patronizing them. [00:04:34] Speaker E: I mean, I think in the long run, I think Sam could be right. But he also seems like a doomsday prepper. [00:04:45] Speaker D: I don't like the eyes of the machines. I don't like, like my stuff to be all connected Online. [00:04:52] Speaker E: Where's your 15 pound tub of macaroni and cheese? [00:04:55] Speaker D: Privacy over there. It connects all of his appliances. [00:04:58] Speaker C: They're all light bulbs. [00:05:00] Speaker A: What's a hacker gonna do? Oop, it's on. [00:05:02] Speaker E: Oop, it's on. [00:05:02] Speaker B: My FBI agent is like, why is he up at 2 in the morning? He turned on the lights in the living room. [00:05:08] Speaker E: I'm not. The power went out and everything's on again. [00:05:10] Speaker A: And we're gonna do disco. [00:05:14] Speaker F: Turn into a rave. [00:05:15] Speaker C: That is the only reason why I want smart light bulbs now is to give people access to the app so they can mess with my lighting. [00:05:22] Speaker B: Hey, I decided to go with the light bulb that switched between different colors of like normal people lights. I didn't go with the one that let me do violet. [00:05:30] Speaker A: You didn't do the rainbow. Smart bulbs. [00:05:32] Speaker D: You could have done that for all your plants. [00:05:34] Speaker C: Gamer bulbs. [00:05:34] Speaker D: Changing colors. [00:05:35] Speaker A: Gamer bulbs. [00:05:36] Speaker D: The color theory for plants. [00:05:37] Speaker A: It sounds like a twitch stream right now. It's like give your chat access to your smart lights. [00:05:43] Speaker E: All right, guys, 100 bits and you can change it to what color you want. Next person. Hundred bits, next color. [00:05:48] Speaker C: I think that is a thing for like the. [00:05:50] Speaker E: Oh, of course it is. [00:05:51] Speaker C: The. The. The. The people are streaming, but not with their face. [00:05:56] Speaker D: With like a vtubers. [00:05:59] Speaker C: Yeah, the vtubers. I think some of them do do that. [00:06:02] Speaker A: Sam, do not do. [00:06:03] Speaker C: 68 year old over here. [00:06:04] Speaker B: The Tik Toks. Sam was. Okay, Sam was talking about the Tik Toks, but he was the one who remembered vtuber. [00:06:14] Speaker E: That's because he secretly is one. [00:06:16] Speaker D: Listen, sometimes I like watching a thing and then they're like, hey, we're going to just ha. I'm like, what? Okay, I guess I know what VTubers are. It's who Some of you. [00:06:25] Speaker C: Wait, you watch a stream, who watches another stream? [00:06:28] Speaker D: No, they collaborate. [00:06:30] Speaker B: Collaborate. [00:06:31] Speaker C: I'm sorry to derail this, petite. Why are you looking up weather on YouTube? [00:06:36] Speaker E: Max velocity. [00:06:37] Speaker D: What? [00:06:39] Speaker E: That's his name. Well, I just wanted to see the weather. He reports on live weather. [00:06:44] Speaker D: Like the live weather. [00:06:45] Speaker E: Like there's four tornado warnings going on in the US Right now. Specifically Missouri three. [00:06:50] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, but not in spring. Here. [00:06:51] Speaker F: I mean, focus on where we are. [00:06:53] Speaker E: That is. [00:06:54] Speaker D: Feels fine. [00:06:55] Speaker F: It's. We. There is no tornado Springfield right now. [00:06:59] Speaker D: Let's go. [00:06:59] Speaker A: Y' all ask. [00:07:00] Speaker E: So I'm telling. [00:07:01] Speaker D: Yeah, but you stop worrying so much. [00:07:04] Speaker E: You're gonna tell me that. That you're sitting in front of something and not listening. [00:07:07] Speaker C: No, you're just like, okay, well, we're wondering why you went on YouTube. [00:07:10] Speaker D: I listen to my friend. [00:07:12] Speaker A: You and your YouTube weather and your smart balls. [00:07:16] Speaker D: Someone else say something mean. [00:07:17] Speaker F: Guys, leave him alone. [00:07:18] Speaker B: Speaking of special colored lights, I thought. [00:07:21] Speaker C: You were about to say speaking of to petite. [00:07:24] Speaker B: You all are all standing in a room lit with green flame torches. [00:07:28] Speaker F: Yeah, it's disgusting and creepy and it feels like it's on my skin and I hate it. [00:07:32] Speaker D: It is on your skin. [00:07:33] Speaker B: Ew. [00:07:33] Speaker D: That's how light works. [00:07:35] Speaker B: Mother had just. [00:07:49] Speaker C: It's. It's being absorbed in your skin too. [00:07:53] Speaker F: Only get my 11th dice set out. [00:07:57] Speaker B: Mother had just babbled incoherently at Val. Realized that Neros was responsible for this and glared in her direction. [00:08:04] Speaker F: You're welcome. [00:08:05] Speaker E: How did she know, though? [00:08:07] Speaker B: The camera pans down to show, like, a messenger bag, shoulder bag with just a few grains of black powder that's just been around the corner that you all couldn't see. We're going to cut right to the outside of these catacombs. [00:08:27] Speaker F: Oh, gosh, I'm about to explode, aren't I? [00:08:29] Speaker B: Just a few minutes in the past as we hear the sounds of our team heading deeper into the catacombs, as the resistance member that Val healed makes her way back out of the catacombs, sprinkling a trail of black powder. On her way out, she took my spare pouch, but I think I have just enough. As she starts setting up explosives around the ceilings, she sits back. Some time passes. We hear the clattering of bones inside the catacombs. She says, not on my watch. Pulls up a torch. [00:09:06] Speaker E: I knew it. [00:09:07] Speaker D: Oh, boy. [00:09:09] Speaker C: Interjection. Why is there black powder all the way down here? [00:09:13] Speaker A: She's took her spare pouch, Mother. [00:09:18] Speaker C: I know, but, like. Okay, whatever. It's fine, it's fine. [00:09:21] Speaker E: You don't need all the information right now. [00:09:23] Speaker B: Meanwhile, down in the catacombs, Mother is glowering at Neros. [00:09:32] Speaker D: Hey, that's rude. [00:09:34] Speaker E: Is glowering a word? Yeah, yeah, I don't know what it means. Hey, I'll look it up on the Internet. [00:09:42] Speaker B: There were so many things that I wanted to do this turn. And then Mother got stunned. [00:09:46] Speaker F: You're welcome. [00:09:48] Speaker B: Now she only has two actions. [00:09:50] Speaker F: You're so welcome, Lola. [00:09:55] Speaker A: And now I just have this non mental, but everybody else can have it. Mental picture of Nero's waving her tentacle arm like hello. [00:10:03] Speaker C: Just a little. [00:10:04] Speaker F: Oh, I forgot I had the tentacles out. [00:10:06] Speaker A: You got your tentacles out. [00:10:08] Speaker D: Tentacles are out. [00:10:09] Speaker C: Tentacle arms three. [00:10:10] Speaker E: You gotta stop talking about tentacles. [00:10:12] Speaker C: No, no. [00:10:13] Speaker A: We see them so rarely. [00:10:17] Speaker C: Why are you laughing maniacally while staring at me? [00:10:20] Speaker A: What is happening? [00:10:23] Speaker C: Hey, what's. What was that circle about? [00:10:25] Speaker B: What? [00:10:25] Speaker F: I had a lot of coffee today, so I think it's catching up. [00:10:29] Speaker B: I literally, between episodes, I was like, I know what I'll do. Then I got back to my computer, and I was like, that's three actions. Oh. [00:10:36] Speaker A: Oh, die. [00:10:37] Speaker F: You're so welcome. [00:10:41] Speaker B: All right, I know what I'm gonna do. [00:10:43] Speaker F: Oh, hey, guys. Nero's is gonna die. [00:10:47] Speaker B: Mother glowers. [00:10:52] Speaker E: Just say scowl. Just say scout. [00:10:55] Speaker B: Mother scowls, extends one bony hand, and then just this shockwave of energy slams into Nero's as Mother casts noise. Blast. [00:11:07] Speaker F: Oh, well, you use my Own spell against me. [00:11:12] Speaker C: I don't think you would save. [00:11:16] Speaker D: You can do it. [00:11:17] Speaker F: I don't want to give you a fortitude save. [00:11:19] Speaker C: Give him a will save and tell him it's fortitude. He won't know. [00:11:21] Speaker F: Actually, my greatest save is for fortitude. [00:11:24] Speaker A: Oh. [00:11:24] Speaker C: What? [00:11:25] Speaker F: I don't know. I don't know how or why. [00:11:27] Speaker D: Magic's in her blood. [00:11:28] Speaker B: That's from all the drinking. [00:11:29] Speaker E: Just make up a number. [00:11:30] Speaker D: The magic's in her blood, so she's fortuitous. [00:11:33] Speaker A: Do you have. [00:11:34] Speaker F: I used my last hero point last episode to give him disadvantage. So, no, I don't have a hero point. Yeah, that's not good at all. [00:11:45] Speaker D: You'll be all right. [00:11:46] Speaker F: No, I not. Because I already forgot what I rolled. Okay, 21 is probably a critical failure, right? [00:11:57] Speaker D: I think that's a regular failure. [00:11:58] Speaker B: That's a regular failure. [00:12:00] Speaker F: How much? And I already know what this I. [00:12:04] Speaker D: Know is because you rolled high damage. Jordi, why are you making the faces? [00:12:07] Speaker B: You take two damage. [00:12:12] Speaker F: Are you kidding me? [00:12:14] Speaker E: Are you okay? [00:12:15] Speaker C: Are you still up? [00:12:15] Speaker E: I'm fine, guys. No, that's. [00:12:18] Speaker D: I mean with a caster. [00:12:19] Speaker F: But. But I am deafened for a round. [00:12:22] Speaker E: Oh, wow. [00:12:23] Speaker B: You two are fired. You two dice. [00:12:26] Speaker F: No, you keep using those. Keep using them, please. [00:12:29] Speaker A: Double ones. [00:12:30] Speaker B: I roll double ones. [00:12:32] Speaker D: They'll pay it forward. [00:12:33] Speaker F: That's hilarious. [00:12:35] Speaker B: But you are deafened for one round. [00:12:39] Speaker F: Own spell against me. How dare you? How dare you. [00:12:42] Speaker D: Now you can't even hear how damaged you are. [00:12:44] Speaker C: I like to imagine all I can. [00:12:46] Speaker F: Hear are the voices in my head. [00:12:48] Speaker D: Can you hear them? Are you sure you're deaf? [00:12:51] Speaker A: I don't think that's how that works. [00:12:52] Speaker F: I'm pretty. All I can hear are the voices in my head. [00:12:55] Speaker C: That is how that works. If you can hear things mentally. [00:12:57] Speaker D: Yeah, we should have telepathy message. [00:13:00] Speaker C: Wouldn't work on Val or Nero's. [00:13:02] Speaker F: I am not Val. I know Val is not me. I know I am Neros. [00:13:09] Speaker B: Speaking of Val, Mother has just finished her sadly shortened turn, and it is Val's turn. [00:13:15] Speaker F: Guys, that's the last time she's stunned, so be careful. [00:13:20] Speaker C: I'm gonna use a hero point, which I think this is the third time I've had this hero point Surge of Speed play at the start of a creature's turn. That creature is quickened on their turn and can use the extra action only to take a move Trait action. [00:13:34] Speaker E: Gotta go fast for Val. [00:13:36] Speaker A: Gotta go fast. [00:13:37] Speaker D: Thank you, buddy. [00:13:38] Speaker B: Yay. [00:13:39] Speaker D: I am going to fly over her way wee. So I go to her upper left, 10ft below Nero's. And then as I'm flying and coming in for a landing, I twist my brooch and grow to huge size, completely blocking Nero's. [00:13:57] Speaker B: It's true. [00:13:58] Speaker F: Yeah. Any spell that I want to cast. [00:14:00] Speaker D: I don't count as cover because I have my cloak. [00:14:02] Speaker F: Okay, never mind. That's fine. [00:14:03] Speaker A: Oh, right. [00:14:04] Speaker E: That's pretty cool. [00:14:05] Speaker F: But can I see her now? [00:14:08] Speaker C: Yeah, you can technically see her. [00:14:10] Speaker F: Okay. [00:14:11] Speaker D: I can maneuver as I need to be huge. [00:14:13] Speaker A: The cloak acts like one of those, you know, you have a camera on one side and it projects it on. [00:14:18] Speaker C: The other so you can see. [00:14:19] Speaker B: You said you're huge. [00:14:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:14:20] Speaker B: Oh, that's right. It scales. [00:14:23] Speaker C: Can she choose not to be huge? [00:14:25] Speaker D: I can move where I need to be to be huge. If this doesn't work, where I am to be huge. [00:14:29] Speaker F: How high are the ceilings? [00:14:31] Speaker C: High enough for her. She's holding them up like Atlas holds up the Earth. [00:14:35] Speaker E: No, she needs her hands. [00:14:37] Speaker C: Too late. [00:14:37] Speaker F: She's literally blocking the doorway into this room. [00:14:39] Speaker D: So I grow really big, and then I'm gonna swing with my glaive. [00:14:45] Speaker B: Holy fire, Batman. [00:14:52] Speaker D: It's not high enough. [00:14:53] Speaker C: Screaming a hero point. [00:14:54] Speaker D: I'll have a natural 20. [00:14:56] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:14:58] Speaker B: With a reroll, I think that'll be a critical hit. [00:15:01] Speaker A: Oh, really? I hope so. [00:15:02] Speaker D: I hope so. [00:15:03] Speaker C: Oh, and she's unholy, too. [00:15:05] Speaker A: Hey, hey, hey. [00:15:06] Speaker D: She's smitted, I heard. Oh, she's an oldie. [00:15:11] Speaker C: She's an oldie. And you have her floated, right? [00:15:15] Speaker E: Nope. [00:15:15] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. She is smitten. [00:15:17] Speaker E: Take that out. [00:15:17] Speaker B: Wait, Sam, wait. Sam. It was a nat 20. [00:15:21] Speaker D: Oh, I got a card. [00:15:23] Speaker A: This one doesn't. [00:15:23] Speaker C: What? Oh, oh. [00:15:26] Speaker A: Slashing damage. Right. [00:15:27] Speaker F: Long since we've been able to use the cards. [00:15:31] Speaker A: She's not wearing armor, is she? [00:15:32] Speaker B: Yeah, this. This is. This does nothing for you. It damages the armor as well. [00:15:37] Speaker C: Oh. [00:15:40] Speaker E: Draw from the center. [00:15:41] Speaker B: Look on Sven's facing. [00:15:43] Speaker C: All right, giving to the GM for verification. [00:15:47] Speaker B: This one's valid. [00:15:49] Speaker D: This is supposed to be really cool. Can't I just draw another card? [00:15:52] Speaker B: Last chance. [00:15:53] Speaker D: Okay. [00:15:54] Speaker B: I want it to be cool. [00:15:57] Speaker D: Okay. [00:16:01] Speaker A: Wait a minute. [00:16:03] Speaker D: Oh, my gosh. [00:16:04] Speaker C: What's it say? [00:16:05] Speaker A: It works. It works, but you're gonna laugh. Gut slash. The target takes 1D4. Persistent bleed damage. Oh, and here's the part that I made the face at. And any creature it swallows whole is immediately released. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Well, there goes my other plan. [00:16:25] Speaker D: Oh, no. Her Braxton fist. [00:16:28] Speaker E: Oh, no. [00:16:29] Speaker D: So throws up bacon. [00:16:32] Speaker A: So there you go. [00:16:36] Speaker F: I mean, 1D4 persist. [00:16:37] Speaker A: Yeah, the 1D4 persistent bleed. [00:16:38] Speaker F: Take it. [00:16:39] Speaker D: I like it. [00:16:40] Speaker E: No, she'll take it. [00:16:41] Speaker F: Double damage. [00:16:43] Speaker D: What? [00:16:44] Speaker C: And she's smitten. [00:16:46] Speaker A: Smitten for the audiences. For the audience. The first one I drew was armor damage. The target's armor also takes the damage. [00:16:59] Speaker B: Can't damage my armor. Can't cut off my ear. Oh, my breakfast. [00:17:03] Speaker E: You can't fire me. I quit. [00:17:05] Speaker D: Okay, that is 48 damage. That can be get wrecked Mother. That's with some cold and some slashing. Also. I can man move her five feet of anywhere I want if you want. [00:17:22] Speaker C: I don't have a third act. [00:17:23] Speaker D: I can leave her. It's fine. [00:17:24] Speaker C: It's up to you. [00:17:24] Speaker D: She could stay. [00:17:25] Speaker C: It's your turn. [00:17:25] Speaker D: Fine, I'll leave her alone. [00:17:28] Speaker B: I appreciate that. [00:17:31] Speaker D: Yeah. And that's all I can do right now. Is she bloodied yet? [00:17:35] Speaker B: She is bloodied. [00:17:37] Speaker F: Like for realsies? [00:17:38] Speaker B: For realsies. [00:17:39] Speaker F: You're not lying to us. [00:17:41] Speaker D: And she'll take the 1D4 on her turn. [00:17:43] Speaker B: Yes. As this happens, there's suddenly an earth shaking explosion sound. And just like small rocks and dust are just falling from the ceiling. [00:17:54] Speaker D: That wasn't me. [00:18:01] Speaker B: Mother's like clutching at her gash in her gut and she just laughs. Looks up at Val and all of you, you've lost. You've already lost. [00:18:16] Speaker F: That's good. [00:18:17] Speaker D: Huh? [00:18:18] Speaker F: Okay. [00:18:20] Speaker B: Meanwhile, it's the Skeleton's turn. [00:18:23] Speaker C: We'll save. [00:18:24] Speaker B: They're in that range. [00:18:25] Speaker D: They're in the timey Wimey. [00:18:29] Speaker B: What's that? [00:18:29] Speaker C: DC28. [00:18:32] Speaker B: Regular fail. [00:18:34] Speaker C: They are slowed one. [00:18:36] Speaker B: I was double checking my math there. They have just enough actions left. They're gonna try to shove past INR what is your fortitude? DC INR. [00:18:48] Speaker A: That is 30. [00:18:50] Speaker D: They did it meets. [00:18:51] Speaker B: It beats it. You may choose. [00:18:56] Speaker D: Use your reactive strike. [00:18:57] Speaker B: Oh, true. [00:18:58] Speaker A: I can do that. [00:18:59] Speaker B: Good point. [00:19:02] Speaker C: Such a loud time. [00:19:03] Speaker A: 26. [00:19:05] Speaker B: That is a hit. [00:19:06] Speaker A: Okay. [00:19:07] Speaker D: Wow. [00:19:07] Speaker F: Wow, wow, wow, wow. A wow of appreciation. [00:19:12] Speaker A: The fire doesn't make a difference. But I like having multiple dice in my hand. [00:19:17] Speaker C: It's like feeling of power. [00:19:18] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:19:21] Speaker A: I likey. [00:19:23] Speaker E: I didn't. [00:19:25] Speaker F: I'm sorry, but my ears have been violated. [00:19:27] Speaker D: Hey, you're deaf. [00:19:30] Speaker C: What a good time to be deaf. [00:19:31] Speaker F: Nero says I am not. [00:19:33] Speaker C: We invoced me. [00:19:36] Speaker F: No, don't stab my ears. [00:19:38] Speaker D: Get the symbols. Just for one round. [00:19:40] Speaker A: 31. [00:19:41] Speaker C: Nice. [00:19:42] Speaker F: Is that your damage? [00:19:43] Speaker A: That's my damage. [00:19:44] Speaker C: That's good. That's so good. [00:19:46] Speaker B: 31 slashing damage. [00:19:49] Speaker A: Yes. [00:19:49] Speaker C: Weighed off of 2d6. [00:19:51] Speaker A: 2D2D12. [00:19:52] Speaker B: 31 slashing damage. [00:19:56] Speaker F: Why do you keep asking for clarification. [00:19:58] Speaker D: Because that was just an amount of health. [00:20:00] Speaker B: So you start pushing forward, and you just slash your sword through. Through. And just hit them all right at that spot of the spine between the pelvis and the rib cage, and they all just collapse. [00:20:10] Speaker E: Oh, nice. [00:20:14] Speaker B: Exactly enough HP to take them down. [00:20:17] Speaker E: Nice. [00:20:19] Speaker F: Good job. [00:20:20] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:21] Speaker A: I rolled an 11 and a 12. [00:20:23] Speaker F: Nice. [00:20:24] Speaker D: That's how you do it. [00:20:25] Speaker C: That's good. [00:20:26] Speaker F: This is how we do it. [00:20:29] Speaker B: You can still see the bones in the room ahead of you, like collecting and trying to gather together. But at the moment, there is none that have been gathered enough to threaten you. Zafir, it's your turn. [00:20:41] Speaker E: So remind me, how does spell strike work again? [00:20:48] Speaker F: How long have you been playing a magus? [00:20:51] Speaker E: I have so many words written on this page. [00:20:54] Speaker B: So you cast a spell into your weapon, and then you attack them with that weapon. And if the weapon hits, the spell hits them too. [00:21:01] Speaker E: Okay. So they don't have to do the save. [00:21:04] Speaker C: Unless it's a save spell. Because you have the special ability to do so. [00:21:07] Speaker B: Yes. [00:21:08] Speaker E: Okay. [00:21:08] Speaker D: But they only make the save if you hit with your weapon. [00:21:10] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:21:11] Speaker E: Okay, so I slip my electric needle in my pocket. That should be fun. And I pull out my bow, which I'm gonna say is an action. [00:21:23] Speaker C: Correct. It's two actions to stow your weapon. [00:21:25] Speaker D: No, swap is one action. [00:21:26] Speaker C: Oh, I keep forgetting that. [00:21:28] Speaker B: Yeah, Single action. You can swap your weapon. [00:21:30] Speaker E: Yep. Swapping weapon. Next level. I'm getting the quick draw. [00:21:35] Speaker B: Sven's still not happy. [00:21:40] Speaker D: To completely switch weapons. It's also one action to move your hand. [00:21:47] Speaker E: I draw the bow, pull it back, and let an arrow fly. And I want to. I want to hit her with my arrow. Is that going to go? It's directly through Val, but she doesn't provide cover. Yes, exactly. [00:22:00] Speaker D: Because of that awesome cloak I just got. [00:22:03] Speaker A: That's a really nice action you did there, bud. That's really nice. [00:22:08] Speaker E: You have no idea how many times I changed my. My plan. [00:22:12] Speaker C: It was a lot. [00:22:13] Speaker D: Just think, in the time that you would take your hand on and off your weapon three times, he could stow and switch weapons, pull an arrow back, and imbue a spell into it and shoot it. [00:22:24] Speaker A: Yeah, that's just like, what am I doing? [00:22:26] Speaker D: You would swap my hand back over here. [00:22:29] Speaker E: I don't even want to roll with this one anymore. I want to roll with a different guy. [00:22:32] Speaker B: It really matters where you put the effort of your practice. [00:22:37] Speaker D: You should just get good at switching hands. [00:22:40] Speaker B: There is a fighter feat that lets you do two Hands as one action though. [00:22:44] Speaker F: Zafir, are you ready to say your damage? [00:22:46] Speaker E: I am. Well, not damage. [00:22:48] Speaker B: All right. [00:22:49] Speaker E: I'm assuming it hits, what's your to hit? But 35, that's a hit. [00:22:52] Speaker C: Nice. [00:22:53] Speaker E: I rolled a 17. [00:22:54] Speaker B: We're just getting distracted. Enjoying the impracticality of spending one action to grab your sword. [00:22:59] Speaker C: There's a lot of stuff like that. [00:23:01] Speaker E: So 15 torturous trauma is coming out of it. So it basically just pierces her and you don't see anything happening? Well, maybe where she got gashed, but it impacts her internal internals. [00:23:15] Speaker D: Did I miss the saving throw? [00:23:18] Speaker E: No, no, you didn't. [00:23:19] Speaker C: You didn't do it. [00:23:20] Speaker B: Well, anyway, fortitude save, I think. [00:23:22] Speaker E: Yeah, well, basic save. Yeah, whatever. What's the difference between basic fortitude and just fortitude? [00:23:27] Speaker B: So basic means that if they succeed, they take half damage. If they fail, they take regular damage. If they crit fail, they take double. And if they crit succeed, they take no damage damage. So then they've just called that a basic save. [00:23:39] Speaker E: Okay. [00:23:41] Speaker B: All right. And what is your DC27 regular fail. [00:23:45] Speaker E: Okay, well 15 from the torturous trauma and a whole whopping seven from the arrow. [00:23:53] Speaker B: Oof, oof oof. My organs. They were so easy to hit. And you used magic to batter them. [00:24:00] Speaker E: A little bit of fire. [00:24:01] Speaker B: Einar, it's your turn. [00:24:04] Speaker A: Huh? [00:24:05] Speaker C: You could delay until more skeletons show up, or you can get in here and just kill her. [00:24:10] Speaker A: I. I know skeletons are coming out. [00:24:14] Speaker D: Maybe preemptively stab if we kill her. [00:24:17] Speaker F: Possibly not. [00:24:19] Speaker E: They could just be rattling around, you. [00:24:21] Speaker A: Know, so cheering on their buddy just died. I'm going to. I use two actions to prepare an action, right? [00:24:29] Speaker B: Yes. [00:24:30] Speaker A: Can I prepare a two action all round? [00:24:33] Speaker B: Yes, you can spend all three of your actions to do a two action prepare. I reserve the right to veto if something doesn't work. Because technically that's a house rule to allow anyway. [00:24:42] Speaker C: I like it as a house rule though. [00:24:45] Speaker A: I'm gonna three action prep, positioning, assault. [00:24:48] Speaker B: Okay, that's fair. [00:24:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:24:50] Speaker C: What's that? Do you have to tell them like what your the trigger is? [00:24:55] Speaker A: Oh, if they come out of the pit, I'm going to try to throw them back in nice with an attack. [00:25:00] Speaker B: That's fair. That's fair. [00:25:01] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:25:03] Speaker B: Neros, you are still deaf. [00:25:07] Speaker F: Okay. That does not affect what I want to do. [00:25:12] Speaker D: That's good. [00:25:12] Speaker F: Thankfully in a 15 foot burst behind her. So it doesn't hit outward or vow. See a bunch of darkness start to accumulate. Boy, you don't know what I'm doing. Why are you excited? [00:25:32] Speaker C: I'm pretty sure you're gonna do the spell you told us about, like, three episodes ago. [00:25:35] Speaker F: No, I'm not. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Oh. I got excited for no reason. [00:25:40] Speaker F: I mean, it might be. [00:25:41] Speaker E: I don't. [00:25:41] Speaker F: I told you about one of them. I don't know if I told you about this one. [00:25:44] Speaker D: Keep hype. Keep hyped. [00:25:47] Speaker F: Anyway, you see a bunch of darkness start gathering behind our dear good mother there. Basically just looks like a bunch of shadows pulled in from all the corners. And I need a basic reflex. Or will save. It's up to you. [00:26:05] Speaker C: You gotta keep me on the edge of my seat this whole time. [00:26:07] Speaker F: It says target's choice. If I had a choice, I would make you roll. Reflex. What's your DC27? [00:26:16] Speaker C: Please be a fail. [00:26:17] Speaker B: That's a regular fail. [00:26:18] Speaker F: Hey, what was the regular fail again for? Basic stuff. [00:26:22] Speaker B: Full damage. [00:26:23] Speaker F: Full damage. Okay. And then you see this just amalgamation of Shadow. Rush forward and slam into her. [00:26:34] Speaker C: Oh, I don't. What is this? [00:26:35] Speaker F: I need six of my D8s. [00:26:38] Speaker C: What is the spell? [00:26:39] Speaker E: She will tell you when she's ready. [00:26:41] Speaker C: I know, but I'm so excited. [00:26:43] Speaker F: It's called Shadow Blast. [00:26:45] Speaker E: Wow. Way to keep a mystery. [00:26:47] Speaker F: You shape the shadow substance of the netherworld into a blast. Choose acid, bludgeoning, cold, electricity, Fire, force, piercing, slash, exonic or spirit damage. [00:26:57] Speaker B: Whoa. [00:26:58] Speaker C: I forgot how fun Shadow magic is. [00:27:00] Speaker F: The blast deals 68 damage of the type you choose to each creature in the area. [00:27:05] Speaker C: What damage are you choosing? [00:27:06] Speaker F: I don't know yet. Okay, that was a D4. Hang on. [00:27:12] Speaker C: Just double it. Just double. It's five. [00:27:16] Speaker D: Oh, nice. [00:27:18] Speaker C: What? What is going on over there? [00:27:20] Speaker F: I rolled three, eight, two, seven and a four. [00:27:26] Speaker D: She ready? She ready. [00:27:28] Speaker F: Give me a sec. Do not do my math for me. I can. I can. [00:27:30] Speaker A: No, you've earned. You've earned the ability to do my math. [00:27:34] Speaker C: Everybody quiet. [00:27:36] Speaker F: So I'm going to choose fire damage just for the heck of it. Is that okay with you? [00:27:48] Speaker C: No. Just for the heck of it. Fire. [00:27:51] Speaker F: Ah, yes. [00:27:52] Speaker A: Heck. Fire. [00:27:55] Speaker F: That's a 42 damage. [00:27:58] Speaker C: That's good. [00:28:00] Speaker B: You deserve every bit of that damage, Einar. You're standing at the pit with your sword at the ready. And suddenly all of the bones just stop shaking and collapse on the ground. As back in the main atrium, this explosion of Shadow energy just bursts into Mother's back and singe. She just collapses to the ground. [00:28:21] Speaker C: Nice. [00:28:22] Speaker B: And we'll be out of initiative. [00:28:24] Speaker C: Nice. [00:28:24] Speaker D: Wow. [00:28:26] Speaker A: Get it, Nero. [00:28:27] Speaker B: Nice. [00:28:28] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:29] Speaker C: You murder that old woman. [00:28:31] Speaker E: I did. [00:28:32] Speaker F: And I Take joy in it. But as. As that rush of fire shadow. That's a cool image. Fire shadow, yeah, would be. Slams into her. After. After Mother collapses to the ground, Neros is like more loudly muttering to herself than she was before. [00:28:52] Speaker D: I think looking around, we heard that explosion. I think Val's gonna kind of look at her and be like, we need to get back to the surface and find out what that was. And then she's gonna look down at Neros and I'll be like, are you alright? [00:29:09] Speaker F: I can't hear you. [00:29:11] Speaker D: Surely it's been around. Your turn ended. You're not deaf anymore. [00:29:17] Speaker F: Neros doesn't answer you. She walks up to Mother, takes out her dagger and stabs it through Mother's heart. Basically just ensuring that she is actually dead. [00:29:32] Speaker E: Here's the question. Did she have a heart? [00:29:35] Speaker F: Where her heart would be? [00:29:39] Speaker B: Neros, on what part of your person are you carrying the Amulet of Urgothoa? [00:29:45] Speaker F: It's in my satchel. [00:29:48] Speaker B: You feel a cold emanating from your satchel as you're sitting over Mother's body with your dagger buried in her chest. Her still cold, lifeless face shudders a little bit and she's still staring lifelessly up at the ceiling. Just. You think you've won. [00:30:15] Speaker A: You haven't. [00:30:18] Speaker B: This was plan B. And then there's just the sound of something shattering from your pouch. And the cold is gone. [00:30:32] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:30:33] Speaker F: I dump my satchel on the floor. [00:30:37] Speaker B: And just fragments of the Amulet of Urgothoa fall out. [00:30:43] Speaker F: So does that mean the evil is out? [00:30:48] Speaker B: Val, would you like to make a religion check? [00:30:50] Speaker D: Yeah, that'd be great, actually. Yeah, I think that'd be pretty cool. Oh, okay. 34. [00:30:59] Speaker B: You don't sense that evil lingering? It doesn't feel like it escaped. It feels more like it was spent. [00:31:07] Speaker F: Spent? [00:31:07] Speaker B: Yes. [00:31:09] Speaker D: Plan B. I think killing her just triggered something that went somewhere. [00:31:20] Speaker B: Meanwhile, Einar, in the other room, you feel a little weak as you look down at yourself. You kind of start to be able to see shapes through your hands. [00:31:43] Speaker F: Oh, no. [00:31:44] Speaker E: What? [00:31:49] Speaker A: Einar is breathing heavily from holding off the Horde, from spending all his energy giving you guys that chance. And as when he looks down and he sees that. [00:32:30] Speaker B: They did it. [00:32:32] Speaker A: They truly did. [00:32:40] Speaker B: If Einar chooses to do so, he may make a will save to try to hold onto his existence. [00:32:50] Speaker F: This is a big decision. [00:32:58] Speaker A: Einar looks down the hall to all of the rest of the party, taking a moment. Oh, my goodness. This is hard, guys. [00:33:26] Speaker D: I believe in you, Sven. You can do it. [00:33:31] Speaker F: Take your time, man. [00:33:35] Speaker A: He steps in front of the hallway. And for a moment, he looks conflicted. And you see a tear fall down his eye. And then he smiles. You all have a chance to be heroes. And you all need to take it. Be safe. And goodbye. As he takes a deep breath and lets himself go. [00:34:28] Speaker B: And that's where we end this episode. [00:34:32] Speaker C: I hate you, Sven. [00:34:33] Speaker D: That's so good. We aren't even looking at you. [00:34:38] Speaker A: I was conflicted. [00:34:39] Speaker C: I want to know if my theory is. Yes. Why are you even acting? [00:34:42] Speaker D: You made the right choice. [00:34:44] Speaker C: I think he made the right choice too. I just hate it. [00:34:47] Speaker D: I agree. [00:34:48] Speaker B: All right. And the hero point for today's episode does go to Sven. An inheritance for whoever's taking over for Einar, I suppose. [00:35:00] Speaker C: Bring that old man back. [00:35:03] Speaker A: I want everyone to know that was difficult decision to make. I. I loved Einar. And I hope all of you did as well. Oh, man. I think I'm. I need to go. I need to go sit down. Yeah. [00:35:32] Speaker D: How come no one got this emotional and Heymir left? [00:35:36] Speaker E: Where do we start, I wonder? [00:35:41] Speaker B: Well, everybody, go ahead. Jump in on the discords and just let us know. [00:35:46] Speaker D: F in the chat. [00:35:46] Speaker B: F in the chat. [00:35:49] Speaker C: So many. [00:35:50] Speaker B: I want to hear highlights, favorite moments for Einar. We'll make this a thing. If I kill somebody, I get to find out what the best thing that I took from you all was. [00:35:59] Speaker E: He's not dead. He's just gone. [00:36:01] Speaker D: Or he'll be born in like a couple years. It'll just be a new 20 years. He'll be noonar time. [00:36:09] Speaker B: Well, that's it for today. We will see you all in the next episode. [00:36:12] Speaker C: Tell me who your parents are. Sven.
