[00:00:00] Speaker A: This episode was recorded before the SAG AFTRA strike commenced. We at Atomic Broadcasting wish to show solidarity in their fight for a livable wage. To learn more about SAG AFTRA, feel free to follow the links in the show notes. [00:00:17] Speaker B: You are listening to an Atomic Broadcasting production. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature. Present temptation, and remember, do your part, such as, like comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an Atomic time. [00:00:44] Speaker A: Now, where did we leave off? Ah, yes, business. Now handled. The party left copperberg. It arriving at their goal of Tomgrove. While setting up Alward's family in Hamir's old house, a strange old woman stumbled in through the door. [00:01:09] Speaker B: Okay, so after singing Total Eclipse of the Heart together, we went and saw the D D movie. [00:01:16] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:01:17] Speaker D: Everyone but Sven. [00:01:19] Speaker E: I already saw it. [00:01:20] Speaker B: Oh, what was it? [00:01:22] Speaker C: What? [00:01:23] Speaker B: Everybody appreciate it. Yeah, we didn't go with Sven. He saw it with other people. [00:01:31] Speaker C: He didn't need to. [00:01:32] Speaker B: Other friends. [00:01:33] Speaker F: He didn't wait. [00:01:35] Speaker D: Yeah, he was too impatient. [00:01:37] Speaker B: So obviously we double as talking about movies. [00:01:41] Speaker D: Yeah, of course. [00:01:42] Speaker B: What did everyone think about the movie? We'll start let's start with Sven, since. [00:01:47] Speaker C: He'S been dying to talk about it. [00:01:49] Speaker E: I have. [00:01:50] Speaker B: And as such, we will skip him. [00:01:54] Speaker D: I believe he's going to talk too long. [00:01:55] Speaker B: Okay, sven, as the only one here, I think, who actually still plays DND, fifth edition, you can go first. [00:02:03] Speaker C: I think that's true. [00:02:06] Speaker E: No, truly, though, if you have or you love playing Five E, or any type of role playing game, then you will appreciate this movie. Because they never show the table. That's one of the things. That's why it can be kind of standalone. But if you know role playing games and interacting with between players and the GM, you can almost see the table and what they're doing and what happened. Like, who ruled what, who's just asking a really weird question at this point. So, yes, I loved every minute. I was laughing my head off. Especially with the painting part. If you watch the movie, you'll understand. [00:02:46] Speaker A: That. [00:02:48] Speaker B: I was like, what are you talking about? [00:02:50] Speaker D: That part with the hither Thither. [00:02:53] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:02:54] Speaker D: The hither thither. [00:02:56] Speaker E: And if you love Portal Two, you'll love this movie as well. [00:02:59] Speaker C: Yeah, I guess that could be an incorrect. [00:03:05] Speaker D: Or portal one. We don't descriptive portal portal, but never Portal three. [00:03:09] Speaker C: If you like portals. [00:03:11] Speaker D: If you like Portal Three, too. [00:03:12] Speaker F: Zabby's turn. [00:03:13] Speaker C: Now it is. [00:03:13] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:03:14] Speaker F: We're going to go around the table. [00:03:15] Speaker C: Oh, fun. [00:03:16] Speaker D: What's your opinion on the movie? [00:03:18] Speaker C: I loved it personally. It was really good. It is one of those movies that if you don't know anything about DND, you could just watch it because it is a good movie. The guy who played the paladin, I can't remember his name ever, but I. [00:03:32] Speaker D: Was not expecting him to be in the boyfriend. [00:03:35] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. And his character in bridgerton is Simon, which was confusing me when they were talking to Simon. And I was like, but that's anyway, it was good. I enjoyed it. Yep. That's my review. [00:03:50] Speaker A: I have IMD. [00:03:51] Speaker D: They really knew how to look it up, use that character. Like they knew what they were doing. [00:03:54] Speaker C: With he was so funny. It was so, so it was so good. And he delivered the way he delivered his lines, too. [00:04:00] Speaker D: He was a DMPC. [00:04:02] Speaker F: He was a DMPC. [00:04:04] Speaker C: He was a PC. [00:04:05] Speaker D: There we go. He's just walking. [00:04:07] Speaker F: Definitely the character that the DM in a straight line. [00:04:10] Speaker D: Anyway, Sam, what'd you think about the movie? [00:04:12] Speaker B: I was surprised by how good it was because I wasn't expecting it to be much more than just an IP grab movie. And it was fun. [00:04:22] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:04:23] Speaker B: I don't know. If we didn't go as a group, I probably wouldn't have seen it in theaters anyway. Yeah, it was fun. [00:04:30] Speaker D: Yeah, it was fun. [00:04:31] Speaker B: It was a lot better than I expected it to be. [00:04:33] Speaker D: My opinion on the movie is, as a movie, it's like a solid I would say like six or seven. Like, just as a movie with all the things in DND, it's a bit higher. But my favorite thing kind of small spoilers. They had a very fat dragon. [00:04:49] Speaker F: Yes. [00:04:52] Speaker D: As an inside joke between my wife that is my soul animal, is I am like a fat dragon. Or my thing that I connect to with. So I saw that and I was like, this movie is a ten out of ten. [00:05:03] Speaker E: Very ironic, considering you're not I'm not fat. [00:05:05] Speaker F: I can tell you. He is neither a fat or a dragon. [00:05:08] Speaker D: Yeah, but I am a fat dragon. That is what I am. Fight me. Specifically, a fat green dragon. Like, kind of like peach dragon. Okay. Getting back to the movie, it was an absolute jaunty time. There were a few things that it did as a movie that frustrate me deeply. It specifically tried to tug at your heartstrings multiple times. It's like, okay, move on. You're not doing a good job at what you think you're doing. But it works because it's A-D-D movie, and that happens at tables. So, yeah, it's good. It's a great movie. [00:05:42] Speaker B: What about you, Jordy? [00:05:43] Speaker D: We got to go to. [00:05:47] Speaker B: Right. All right, petite, you can talk. [00:05:50] Speaker F: As a lover of all movies, I would have to give it a nine, because it was just a fun time. Overall, if you don't know anything about DND or I mean, the fact that we're playing Pathfinder, it doesn't really matter because you're going to be doing the same thing. Roleplay roles, just really stupid situations that the party gets into or out of, maybe. Hopefully, it's a really fun time. And if you know anything about playing a game at the table, you understand. The pacing feels good. The story beats feel good. It just feels like you're sitting there going and then this happens. [00:06:34] Speaker B: And then this happens. [00:06:36] Speaker F: And then there's no really long conversations that sit there with exposition. It's just kind of bounce back and forth. It's so much fun. And that's what I think. [00:06:46] Speaker B: All right, Jordy. You get to talk in a banter. [00:06:49] Speaker D: Go, Jordy. Go, Jordy. Go. [00:06:51] Speaker B: Go. [00:06:51] Speaker A: So speaking of no, no, you were. [00:06:55] Speaker B: No, you were there. And you were there. [00:06:58] Speaker D: I think the only person who doesn't get to talk is Jacob. And that's just because he doesn't have a mic. [00:07:04] Speaker A: As we all know, I am not a movie watcher. [00:07:07] Speaker B: It's true. It took him to watch a movie I lent to him. [00:07:11] Speaker A: This is true. [00:07:12] Speaker D: Has he watched it yet? [00:07:13] Speaker B: He watched it yesterday. I finally got Rashima back. [00:07:17] Speaker D: Wow. [00:07:18] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:07:18] Speaker A: Noel, so petite, began his thing saying he's a lover of movies as a hater of movies. I thought it was a really good movie. It was definitely a fun time. Like Sam was saying, I don't know if it's like a total theater experience. Experience. And I know I can say that comfortably and with confidence because it's not in theaters by the time this episode is coming out. So we're not hurting their production at all. But it's definitely the kind of movie that would be like a fun get your friends together, do a pizza night, watch this movie kind of thing. They did an excellent job with taking the hammy portions of what makes the stories you come up with at a table fun. But then doing production and making them on the big screen and it feels like, oh, yes. This is what I see in my mind when I'm playing a game and it's in a movie. [00:08:04] Speaker B: Yes. [00:08:05] Speaker A: Particularly, I enjoyed the special effects because I'm a big fan of practical effects. So all the animatronics and stuff were great. Even when they weren't good, I loved them. [00:08:14] Speaker D: Like the little cat baby. [00:08:15] Speaker A: Yeah, baby. And I will defend that. [00:08:20] Speaker D: I'm not saying the cat baby was bad. I love that cat baby. But it was very noticeable. [00:08:26] Speaker A: But, yeah, anytime they had, like, the CG and it wasn't great CG, I actually liked that because it helped with the fantastical elements. Because it helped remind you this is a special world. We're not trying to make this believable. We're having a good time. [00:08:42] Speaker E: The cemetery scene is my favorite. [00:08:44] Speaker C: That was hilarious. [00:08:46] Speaker D: The one on the get on that. Apparently, the main character is the Bard. I refuse to believe this didn't cast a single spell. Never used Bardic inspiration. He just played a loop. [00:08:58] Speaker F: But according to the Stat blog, all. [00:09:00] Speaker D: Of his spells should still have spells. [00:09:01] Speaker E: Okay. [00:09:02] Speaker B: To be fair, he may have been consistently inspiring everyone. [00:09:05] Speaker D: That is true. We may not know. [00:09:07] Speaker E: Actually, he did do that. You can tell when he did that. [00:09:10] Speaker D: Oh, no. There was that one scene on the horse. [00:09:12] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:09:12] Speaker D: So he did inspire at least once that I saw. But he didn't cast any spells. [00:09:18] Speaker C: It's okay. [00:09:18] Speaker B: It is what the Bard says it is. [00:09:24] Speaker F: And of course, it's all up to the DM or GM's choice. [00:09:28] Speaker B: They told a fun story. [00:09:31] Speaker A: And with that full circle, let's jump right back in. We're going to jump right back into Hamir's family home where I'm drawing a furl circle where can you see, howard is in the middle of starting a ritual, and this old woman has just walked into the house, and it seems just as surprised as you all to be there. [00:09:54] Speaker D: Oh, I forgot about her. [00:09:56] Speaker B: What are you doing here? This is my house. You can't just open my door. [00:10:01] Speaker A: I didn't realize you were back. [00:10:04] Speaker B: What do you mean? [00:10:04] Speaker A: I would like you to all realize that was not me doing a bad impression of a woman. That's exactly what she sounded like. [00:10:12] Speaker D: What? [00:10:15] Speaker B: What do you mean you didn't think I was back? Have you been in this house while I was gone? [00:10:20] Speaker D: Hey, Mayor, who is this person? [00:10:21] Speaker B: I don't know, but I'm quite soon thinking about pressing charges. She said, coming into my home. Who are you? [00:10:29] Speaker A: Hey, Mayor. It's fine. I can explain. [00:10:31] Speaker B: Who are you? [00:10:32] Speaker A: Alward, just oh, wait. Hold on. [00:10:34] Speaker D: How do you know my name? [00:10:38] Speaker A: The woman closes the door behind her and walks very confidently further into the room. [00:10:44] Speaker D: Don't step in my circle. [00:10:46] Speaker B: Don't come into the house. [00:10:47] Speaker A: Stops. [00:10:47] Speaker B: Go away. [00:10:50] Speaker A: I need your help. [00:10:53] Speaker B: I need you to step outside of my house. [00:10:56] Speaker F: Wait. [00:10:57] Speaker A: It's fine. She reaches down, and there's, like you ever see, like Mother Goose books. [00:11:02] Speaker E: And she's, like, wearing the little bonnet hat. [00:11:05] Speaker A: Yeah. She grabs the bonnet hat and takes it off. [00:11:08] Speaker B: Pull out my chain. [00:11:09] Speaker A: And as she does so, her appearance completely melts away. And it's like a man from Tian shaw. Who's standing in front of you? [00:11:18] Speaker B: I still don't know who you are. What are you doing here? [00:11:21] Speaker D: I'm going to speak in TN. Just out of like I don't know you well. [00:11:26] Speaker A: Right. And he's still speaking in. I guess he'd be speaking in Scald, but he's like, right, you don't but I've been watching you. [00:11:35] Speaker E: That doesn't help your situation. [00:11:37] Speaker D: I don't like that. [00:11:38] Speaker A: My name is Toshiro. I am a spy for the Linhrum King in the area. I've been assigned here to work in Tomgrove and try to see what the Infernal Mining Company has been up. [00:11:54] Speaker B: Is. Why are you letting this man walk into my house? [00:11:57] Speaker D: I don't know. [00:11:58] Speaker B: I'm clearly here for you. Talk to him outside. [00:12:01] Speaker D: I'm busy doing something. [00:12:03] Speaker A: I'm here for both of you. I need your help. [00:12:04] Speaker B: Both of you? [00:12:05] Speaker A: All of you. [00:12:06] Speaker D: Can it wait a day? I kind of have to finish this. [00:12:11] Speaker A: No, you probably have 2 hours. [00:12:16] Speaker B: What? [00:12:17] Speaker E: Is it just that you're so impatient that you walk into a stranger's house? [00:12:22] Speaker A: It's Trov. [00:12:24] Speaker D: Who? [00:12:24] Speaker B: What? Wait. [00:12:25] Speaker A: Trov? [00:12:26] Speaker B: Why do you look like that? How am I supposed to believe you? [00:12:30] Speaker D: I don't think he's trov. I'm saying it's the problem. [00:12:33] Speaker B: Oh, I'm sorry. [00:12:35] Speaker D: Talk and wipe away the circle with. [00:12:42] Speaker B: What? Okay, sorry. Trov? What do you mean, trov? What's going on with Trov? [00:12:49] Speaker A: He's scheduled for execution in 2 hours. [00:12:51] Speaker D: Who's Trov? [00:12:54] Speaker B: What did he do? [00:12:56] Speaker A: Well, he may have been assisting me in my spying. [00:13:01] Speaker E: Is this the are you the man. [00:13:03] Speaker B: We had me to a job for delivering the orb thing? [00:13:09] Speaker A: I don't know what you're talking about. [00:13:13] Speaker B: He does too many things. [00:13:14] Speaker D: Is Trov your friend? [00:13:16] Speaker B: He's my friend. I guess. He's the contact that I was going to help find information for UVair with. [00:13:23] Speaker D: He's going to be executed. Why? [00:13:26] Speaker B: It's not surprising. [00:13:28] Speaker D: You mean you did say that was the worst case scenario. [00:13:32] Speaker F: Where? [00:13:33] Speaker A: In the middle of Tom Grove in the town square. They're trying to make a public spectacle of it. [00:13:38] Speaker B: Why did you get him involved? [00:13:40] Speaker A: I suspect they're making a show of things to try to get me to out myself to save him. [00:13:45] Speaker B: But why was he involved in the first place? [00:13:49] Speaker A: I don't know. You'll have to ask him. [00:13:51] Speaker B: You said you were working with him. [00:13:52] Speaker A: Yes, he was giving me information. [00:13:54] Speaker B: Why were you? [00:13:55] Speaker D: Hold on. What does this have to do with me? [00:14:01] Speaker A: Because I need your help. [00:14:04] Speaker F: Why? [00:14:05] Speaker B: All right. Your parents will be fine here. We got to go get Safir and go help. [00:14:10] Speaker D: If he's the enemy of the state or city or whatever and I end up helping, it could put my family in. [00:14:15] Speaker E: Fine. [00:14:16] Speaker B: We have to go get Trov. [00:14:17] Speaker A: But I thought of that. And he reaches into a pouch at his side and starts pulling out scrolls. You all are familiar with the magic of spell scrolls, correct? [00:14:27] Speaker B: I look at Hamir, I look at my pack. My case of skull scrolls. Yes. [00:14:32] Speaker A: These scrolls, once activated, will allow you to change your appearance for 1 hour. And he hands out to each of you spells of a loosely disguised level one. [00:14:42] Speaker B: How do we know we can trust you about this? [00:14:44] Speaker E: Also, let me take a look at the scrolls. [00:14:47] Speaker B: I will roll since mode. [00:14:49] Speaker D: Also, this spell isn't a for sure guarantee that people can still notice. [00:14:56] Speaker A: So as Hamir is rolling his perception check to see if he believes this guy UVair is able to look at the scrolls and confirm that they are indeed what he says they are. First level illusory disguise scrolls, hamir with a 22, which is what you've gestured to me, that you have rolled. This guy does appear to be totally on the level. He's just genuinely he needs your help, and he believes that you're the best suited for the job. [00:15:34] Speaker E: These scrolls are what he says he is, and they will work enough that if nobody's looking closely or think to look right, they have to sink to look for it, that it could potentially do the job. [00:15:48] Speaker D: If nobody's looking closely at people who's aiding and abetting a fugitive from magically. [00:15:53] Speaker E: Looking closely. [00:15:54] Speaker D: You don't have to magically look. You just have to disbelieve. [00:15:57] Speaker A: So sidebar. People aren't allowed to attempt to disbelieve illusions unless they have a reason to do so. So if your illusions are reasonable, people wouldn't think to try to see if it's an illusion. [00:16:10] Speaker D: Hold on, because I have access to this spell because I may be misremembering the spell text. [00:16:16] Speaker E: Is it a first or second level? [00:16:18] Speaker D: Is it first? [00:16:19] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:16:20] Speaker D: Okay. Illusionary, disguise. [00:16:23] Speaker B: Can we all cast the spell easily? [00:16:26] Speaker A: Yes. [00:16:27] Speaker D: You create an illusion that causes you to have to be another person similar, within six inches of height, 50 pounds of yourself. The spell doesn't change your voice. Fun. You can appearance of clothing, worms, such as. [00:16:42] Speaker C: Any creatures. [00:16:48] Speaker D: Okay, yeah, I misremembered the spell. I thought it had, like, an immediate check against it. [00:16:55] Speaker B: Yeah, an immediate trigger. [00:16:56] Speaker D: I'm sorry. I don't claim to be an expert at this game. [00:17:00] Speaker B: I'm playing let the DM dim. DM never. So Haymir reaches into his pocket and pulls out a little toy soldier. And he stares at it and he's thinking. He's, like, technically Travo's me right now. He's going to owe me a lot after this, I guess. All right, get your things. Let's go. [00:17:27] Speaker C: Are we all going? [00:17:29] Speaker B: Yes, technically. No. He said all. [00:17:32] Speaker D: Zafir's not here. [00:17:34] Speaker B: Let's go get Zafir. [00:17:35] Speaker C: He said alwood. [00:17:37] Speaker B: He said all of you. [00:17:39] Speaker A: They're the only names I know. I'm sorry. I haven't met the rest of your group. [00:17:43] Speaker D: You haven't met me? [00:17:44] Speaker A: I've been watching you. You've lived in this town. [00:17:46] Speaker B: He's been watching you and your family. [00:17:48] Speaker A: I'm a spy. [00:17:50] Speaker C: That's what they do. To be honest, it doesn't mean I. [00:17:53] Speaker D: Have to like it. [00:17:54] Speaker B: That's fine. I don't like spies either, but it is what it is. [00:17:58] Speaker A: Well, I like all of you. Hey, Mayor. With your 22 perception, you can tell he's just saying that. [00:18:05] Speaker B: This is why I don't like spies. They never say what they mean except for when they do. And you don't know when they do because anyway, let's go. [00:18:16] Speaker D: Well, I don't lena pick up a bit, I guess. [00:18:20] Speaker B: It'll be fine. There's plenty of food here. [00:18:23] Speaker D: It's probably rotten. [00:18:24] Speaker B: No, it stores. [00:18:25] Speaker D: Well, is it in the basement where it floods? [00:18:28] Speaker A: Lena's just, like, munching on some hard tack and she's like, well, that stuff. [00:18:33] Speaker B: Went bad, but there's other stuff that's good. [00:18:36] Speaker D: I think hardtack specifically doesn't go bad. [00:18:39] Speaker B: It depends on the environment. [00:18:42] Speaker A: And as the four of you prepare to head out of the house, the camera is going to zoom up into the air and then zoom back down into the tavern across the street. [00:18:53] Speaker F: Yeah, the small town. [00:18:55] Speaker A: Back down into the tavern. We're going back in time to just as Zafir was pushed through the swinging saloon doors. Everybody falls silent and dramatically looks at Zafir as he steps into the saloon. [00:19:13] Speaker F: Continue on doing what you were doing, please. [00:19:18] Speaker A: And everyone obligingly turns back to their drinks and the conversation. [00:19:26] Speaker F: This tavern is full of dogs. Oh, my. The fear brushes himself off because he did a couple of tumbles out of that cart. Why'd they have to keep moving? They could have just let me get out. Let's see. What was I supposed to do here? Somebody named Rhea. Who am I supposed to ask? Am I supposed to ask her about that? How do I ask her where she is? Hold on. [00:19:57] Speaker D: The professional assassin. Everybody doesn't know how to gather information. [00:20:03] Speaker F: I was given a very specific set of instructions. [00:20:06] Speaker E: In a very vague way. [00:20:08] Speaker B: In a very vague way. [00:20:11] Speaker F: I go up to Clement. I am assuming this is the miner's pick. [00:20:15] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [00:20:16] Speaker D: I took notes. [00:20:18] Speaker B: Wait. Have you been in Tom Grove? [00:20:21] Speaker C: He's been everywhere. [00:20:22] Speaker D: We've all been in Tom grove, I think. [00:20:24] Speaker B: Oh, really? [00:20:24] Speaker E: Yeah. Yes. [00:20:25] Speaker D: I used to work. [00:20:26] Speaker A: I don't think everybody has been in Tom Grove, at least briefly, because this is where the expedition set out from. [00:20:32] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:20:33] Speaker B: Got you. [00:20:35] Speaker F: Anyway, I go up to Clement. I'm hoping he's working nine to 540 hours. Week job. [00:20:44] Speaker B: Unless you're I work all hours. [00:20:49] Speaker F: Hello, Clement. Nice to see you again. [00:20:54] Speaker A: I wish I could say the same. [00:20:56] Speaker F: I literally did nothing to you. I don't know why you'reacting like that. [00:21:01] Speaker A: Oh, no, it's nothing personal. I'm just tired. [00:21:03] Speaker F: Oh, aren't real I am I'm supposed to ask for the soldier? [00:21:19] Speaker B: That is not at all what you're supposed to do. [00:21:25] Speaker A: As you say that. A look comes over his face and he's like, back in town is. He reaches behind him and, like, elbows on a shelf, and then there's like this noise behind him, and he, like, lifts up a part of the bar where you'd, like, go out. And he's like, step on back. [00:21:43] Speaker F: What's back there? [00:21:45] Speaker A: You should know. Looking for the soldier and all. [00:21:50] Speaker C: Not what you're supposed. [00:21:55] Speaker E: How have you made it this far as an assessment? [00:21:57] Speaker B: You made mental notes. [00:22:03] Speaker F: You made me rush. [00:22:05] Speaker B: I, for one love this. [00:22:07] Speaker D: It's great. Hold on. [00:22:10] Speaker F: I need to see what my inventory is. [00:22:13] Speaker D: You don't have one. [00:22:14] Speaker F: I do too. [00:22:15] Speaker E: You won't have one after this. [00:22:16] Speaker F: It's under items. I hand him a piece of chalk. [00:22:25] Speaker B: I wasn't expecting what? [00:22:26] Speaker C: I'm sorry. Hang on. What? Why? [00:22:30] Speaker B: Is it to write the specials on the board here? [00:22:34] Speaker E: It's a magic piece of chalk. [00:22:36] Speaker F: Have this piece of chalk. I want to make sure that I have something to come back and get. [00:22:44] Speaker A: He takes the chalk, looks at it and is like, oh, God, it with my life. [00:22:53] Speaker B: He's so tired. Oh, my God. [00:23:04] Speaker F: I don't even know did the wall open or did the counter open? [00:23:08] Speaker A: As you step back behind the bar, you can see that it was like a staircase that's built into the floor that has, like thump, thump, thump. Down into stairs, going into the basement. [00:23:18] Speaker F: This is really cool for a small town. [00:23:21] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:23:22] Speaker F: I was saying that to myself. [00:23:24] Speaker A: I was spying on your mind. [00:23:27] Speaker B: Oh, no, another one. [00:23:30] Speaker F: I begin to creep down the stairs. [00:23:36] Speaker A: As you go down the stairs, it gets darker and darker until you can only see in gray scale with your dark vision functioning. Until you come around a corner and the foundations of the stonework of the tavern have fallen away and you're entering into a natural stone cavern. And as you enter, it's all torch lit. There's a big ring of sand in the center. And in the center of the room, crouched over something in that pit of sand, is like a hyena like person. Who's like, a hyena person. [00:24:15] Speaker F: Are you? [00:24:16] Speaker D: The. [00:24:18] Speaker A: High Noel stands up and she turns to look at you. She's got, like, a red tunic on, and her hand quickly goes to a mace at her side and she's like, who are you? Did Clement let you down? [00:24:34] Speaker F: I, um I asked for the soldier. I'm looking for someone named Rhea. [00:24:42] Speaker A: Her whole demeanor and posture suddenly relaxes a little bit when you say that. And she's like, is he back in town? Is he all right? [00:24:51] Speaker F: Who are you referring to? [00:24:52] Speaker A: The soldier. [00:24:54] Speaker F: Well, I asked for the soldier. Is this where I'm supposed to stay? [00:25:21] Speaker A: My name is Raya Turn and any friend of Hamir's is a friend of mine. [00:25:26] Speaker F: Oh, yes, hamir. Yeah, he told me to say that I'm asking for the soldier. He told me those exact words. [00:25:36] Speaker D: Can we just have a flashback of the previous episode inserted here? [00:25:42] Speaker F: I wish you could see how fast I was trying to write down those notes, but none of them actually worked, so are you Raya? [00:25:54] Speaker A: Yes. [00:25:56] Speaker F: So, long story short, I am not allowed to stay with him at the moment because he is harboring some friends of ours who we're trying to protect. And I needed a place to say and he said you were a friend. [00:26:16] Speaker A: She looks surprised and smiles and she's like, he finally called me a friend. [00:26:23] Speaker B: Dang it. [00:26:27] Speaker F: Considering how confused I am, I'm not 100% sure if I got those words correct, but let's say yes. [00:26:36] Speaker A: Well, I'll have to tease him about that when I see him. Do you know is he planning on stopping by? [00:26:44] Speaker F: I'm not really sure what the plan is. [00:26:46] Speaker A: And at that moment, the four remaining members of the party come down the stairs behind you. [00:26:52] Speaker B: That was fast. [00:26:53] Speaker D: Zafir, there's no time to talk. Take this scroll. [00:26:58] Speaker F: You expect me to do something with this? [00:27:00] Speaker D: No, I expect you to follow us, Wayne. Then, yes, do something with it. [00:27:04] Speaker B: We do have 2 hours. [00:27:06] Speaker A: Now, that's a line for the trailer. [00:27:11] Speaker B: So this is you told you said you were asked for Rhea and said that the soldier sent you, and then now you. [00:27:18] Speaker D: Yeah, that's definitely what you said, right? [00:27:20] Speaker F: That's exactly what I said. [00:27:23] Speaker A: Rhea nods. Exactly. [00:27:26] Speaker B: Good. I'm proud of you. [00:27:28] Speaker F: Is this where I'm getting that right? I didn't bring any of my I was kicked out of the card. [00:27:34] Speaker B: No, you're fine. I just sent you here temporarily. [00:27:38] Speaker F: I thought this is where I was. [00:27:40] Speaker B: Well, we'll worry about where you stay at night. It's not night yet. I was going to come over to get you. [00:27:49] Speaker E: We have a very pressing matter that needs attending. I don't know, but informant, friend, whatever, is in trial is in trouble and we need to go save him. [00:28:02] Speaker D: We have about 2 hours. That scroll contains illusionary disguise for 1. [00:28:07] Speaker B: Hour of. [00:28:10] Speaker F: Uh okay. [00:28:12] Speaker E: Let's go. [00:28:13] Speaker B: I still don't know if I'm okay with everyone. Slow down. Raya? [00:28:19] Speaker A: Yes, my friend. [00:28:20] Speaker B: Do you have anything that could help? What? Why are you looking at me like that, Raya? [00:28:27] Speaker A: Well, one of the thing is your short friend here said that you have called me your friend. [00:28:35] Speaker B: He's very far away from me when I speak. [00:28:41] Speaker F: He also doesn't let. [00:28:46] Speaker D: How tall are you again? [00:28:49] Speaker B: Taller than you. I don't know. [00:28:51] Speaker E: He speaks from above, from your perspective. [00:28:54] Speaker D: Everyone speaks from above from his perspective. [00:28:57] Speaker B: Me, Ray, shorter than you. It seems like Trov has got himself set for execution today. [00:29:05] Speaker A: Rhea just like, sighs and her shoulders SAG and she's like, not again. [00:29:10] Speaker B: Yeah, we don't have time for the usual things, so I think we'll need to could you help us out any on busting him out? [00:29:20] Speaker A: Well, I could do the getaway wagon this time. [00:29:24] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:29:25] Speaker D: I'm sorry to interject. This is a thing that happens often. [00:29:29] Speaker B: Drav gets himself in trouble a lot. [00:29:32] Speaker D: But nothing was done before now. [00:29:35] Speaker B: What do you mean? [00:29:37] Speaker D: An execution isn't just like a town. Execution isn't just something that you can just do. It's typically built up and you got to send out flight. You got to learn, like, there was time to do something and we waited till now. [00:29:49] Speaker F: I mean, I've been threatened to be executed many times and I didn't do anything. [00:29:53] Speaker B: I don't question that at all. [00:29:55] Speaker A: Reya shrugs. This does seem to be a little bit faster than usual. [00:29:59] Speaker B: The Guard, or whoever they're called who. [00:30:02] Speaker D: Run muscle in this town, isn't it the Enforcers. [00:30:05] Speaker A: Yes. [00:30:06] Speaker B: Right. They're not really part of the town. [00:30:08] Speaker D: I know they are. [00:30:09] Speaker B: And the town really hates them. I know, since they tried to kill me. [00:30:13] Speaker D: I don't think that's why the town hates them. [00:30:15] Speaker B: Well, they also shot an innocent person. [00:30:18] Speaker D: I wasn't aware of that. [00:30:20] Speaker B: But most of the town comes here to the secret room to fight. [00:30:24] Speaker D: What? [00:30:25] Speaker F: Oh, so this isn't where I'm staying? [00:30:27] Speaker B: No. [00:30:29] Speaker A: This buff guy just comes down the stairs, looks at all of you and is like, SUP. Picks up, like, some heavy weaponry and just starts, like, curling it. [00:30:39] Speaker B: Say, is the savage all right? [00:30:43] Speaker A: Are you talking to the buff guy or tamaya. [00:30:46] Speaker B: Yes, the Buffy guy. [00:30:48] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. Made a full recovery. She's been dominating the charts, bro. [00:30:52] Speaker B: Ah, great. Thanks. Rook, was it? [00:30:56] Speaker A: Dude, I'm so glad you remembered my stage. [00:30:59] Speaker B: Oh, God, I'm shocked. [00:31:03] Speaker D: So, I don't know if you remember, but I worked for the people who employ the Enforcers. Worked? So I knew that I didn't know about this. [00:31:14] Speaker B: Right. That's why it's usually if you say, for example, trov gets saved from execution by the town, they don't usually push back too hard, but it's a very. [00:31:30] Speaker D: Is he being executed by the Enforcers or is he being executed by the town? [00:31:34] Speaker B: I imagine by the Enforcers, seeing as the last job he had me do. The Enforcers tried to kill me. [00:31:44] Speaker D: I was just very nervous. [00:31:46] Speaker B: If it helps, your father really wants to save Trov. [00:31:48] Speaker D: I don't care. [00:31:50] Speaker F: How do they do executions in this town? It differs from place to place. [00:31:54] Speaker B: They might use their guns. [00:31:56] Speaker D: Yeah, they do have guns. [00:31:58] Speaker A: Usually by hanging. [00:31:59] Speaker B: That works too. [00:32:01] Speaker C: The classic way. [00:32:02] Speaker D: Oh, is it just going to be a hanging? [00:32:04] Speaker B: Drob didn't want to be hanged. He said if he died, he didn't want to go out that way. [00:32:09] Speaker A: Hanged is correct. [00:32:10] Speaker F: Punishment is usually the way you don't want things to be happening. [00:32:15] Speaker B: Yeah, it's true. [00:32:18] Speaker E: Honestly, I don't really want to see anyone hanged. Especially the person we're trying to get. [00:32:22] Speaker B: Information from, which yeah, he can help you a lot, probably. Maybe Brooke is just like Bro. [00:32:29] Speaker A: I'm going to get the wagon. [00:32:32] Speaker D: Is he going to pull the wagon? [00:32:34] Speaker B: I hope not this time. Well, Raya, we're going to be hastily making our way there. Any support you guys could offer would be great, but we do need to get going. [00:32:46] Speaker A: We'll make sure that you've got a clear path to get out of the square. [00:32:50] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you. [00:32:51] Speaker F: Are we coming back here? [00:32:55] Speaker C: Where are we going after that? [00:32:57] Speaker E: Honestly, I think we should get out of town. And since we don't have to get rid of the disguises and maybe give a disguise to him and come back. [00:33:04] Speaker B: And we could go into the forest for a bit with Drav. [00:33:08] Speaker D: How many scrolls of illusionary disguise did we get? [00:33:11] Speaker B: Five. [00:33:12] Speaker E: Actually, going into the forest is preferable. [00:33:18] Speaker C: I don't think it's the same forest. [00:33:19] Speaker B: Not that forest. [00:33:20] Speaker E: Oh, it's not grungier. No, I'm looking at the map. [00:33:24] Speaker A: Although if you wanted to go in that direction, you could probably get there. No, you'd get there by midnight because it's approaching nightfall now. [00:33:35] Speaker B: Well, anyone have any ideas? [00:33:37] Speaker E: Out of town? At the very least. [00:33:39] Speaker C: I think this is a jailbreak. [00:33:43] Speaker B: Something like that. [00:33:44] Speaker D: It's an execution break. [00:33:45] Speaker B: Depends on where he's at currently. [00:33:47] Speaker D: Okay, I don't know if I'm still all in on saving this man. [00:33:53] Speaker B: If you want to go back to the house, you're welcome to leave us alone. [00:33:57] Speaker F: Does anyone know where he is? Who is Trov Drove? [00:34:02] Speaker B: Probably in the enforcer's jail. [00:34:05] Speaker F: Well, that's all the plan I need. We just need to go over there and get him out. [00:34:09] Speaker B: It's going to be more heavily guarded than. Say a joel jail. [00:34:16] Speaker F: I could slap your hands right now. [00:34:21] Speaker C: No. Slap hands right now. [00:34:23] Speaker A: Whoa, bro. No infighting. Brooke we're all part of the same family. Bro. As he's walking out. [00:34:29] Speaker B: Go away. I don't know why he's still here. [00:34:34] Speaker E: I don't know how he fits down here. [00:34:37] Speaker B: I shouldn't have spoken to him. Now he'll never go away. [00:34:40] Speaker F: I struggled coming down those stairs anyway. [00:34:44] Speaker E: I think that we can either save him in the jail or perhaps in the procession to the execution, if it's in center of town or is it the same place? [00:34:58] Speaker B: Jordy, would it be harder to break him out of jail or harder to take him from the hanging? [00:35:06] Speaker A: Probably harder to break him out of jail because they're expecting any attempts to be made there. [00:35:11] Speaker B: So we can be a part of the crowd, and then when things happen, we could just get them out. And if we get enough people in the area, they can get in the way. Be a panicked crowd if one of us could get a hold of one of their guns. That could be an excellent start. Fire off a gun, make the crowd freak out. [00:35:33] Speaker F: I can do that. [00:35:35] Speaker B: Awesome. Don't shoot someone. Just shoot up into the air. [00:35:39] Speaker F: But everyone is above me. I might miss. [00:35:45] Speaker B: Are you daft? [00:35:47] Speaker F: A little, yes. [00:35:49] Speaker B: Okay. Sorry I brought it up. So we wait till he's rolled out for execution, and then we save him. Try and have maybe zafir someone. Fire off a gun, get the crowds are rolling, and then we get to the wagon and we're out. It should be fairly simple. [00:36:14] Speaker D: Why are you looking at me? [00:36:16] Speaker B: What do you mean? I'm not looking at you. [00:36:18] Speaker D: You said fairly simple, and then you turned toward me. [00:36:22] Speaker F: You're a simple man. [00:36:24] Speaker D: Not really on the outside. On the inside, I'm a twist. [00:36:29] Speaker B: Anyone have any other ideas or suggestions? [00:36:34] Speaker F: It has me shooting a gun. [00:36:38] Speaker D: I might be able to do something about some of the enforcers, maybe. I used to work for the company. [00:36:43] Speaker B: That would be great. [00:36:44] Speaker C: I can talk to some people. [00:36:48] Speaker B: I wonder if we could kill that Axel fella while we're at it. [00:36:51] Speaker D: Don't know no killing. This is a rescue mission. [00:36:55] Speaker B: You're right. I shouldn't get so enthusiastic. [00:36:57] Speaker D: Who's Axel? [00:36:58] Speaker B: Actually, he's an enforcer who shot at me and hit a civilian. [00:37:03] Speaker D: That's very bad. [00:37:04] Speaker B: Sith three was also there. [00:37:05] Speaker D: Enforcers aren't supposed to she didn't do anything without reason. [00:37:08] Speaker B: Sithri thought it was fine. Apparently. [00:37:10] Speaker D: That sounds like Sithri. [00:37:12] Speaker F: I wouldn't mind taking care of him, actually. [00:37:15] Speaker E: Neros, if you're what you did to the man on ambush the charmer is it charmer? [00:37:26] Speaker C: Talk to some people. [00:37:28] Speaker B: Is that what you meant by that? Yes. [00:37:32] Speaker E: It perhaps would help us, I think. [00:37:36] Speaker B: Okay, so here's the deal. The five of us split up at the execution. You all do your things, I'll grab Trov. [00:37:47] Speaker D: What are our things? [00:37:49] Speaker F: I'm shooting a gun. [00:37:50] Speaker B: Some enforcers out or something with your lingo. Move them out of our way or something. [00:37:56] Speaker D: Right. [00:37:58] Speaker B: She'll charm some. They should be easy. They're stupid and susceptible. [00:38:06] Speaker E: If necessary, I can provide some non lethal distractions. [00:38:11] Speaker D: Yeah, don't kill anyone. [00:38:13] Speaker B: I don't both kill anyone. [00:38:15] Speaker D: Slap hands. [00:38:17] Speaker F: Well, if the moment no. Slap hands calls for it. [00:38:20] Speaker D: No, this is a rescue. No one should die. [00:38:24] Speaker B: And then we'll rely on Raya and the others to help us get out. [00:38:29] Speaker D: This plan seems haphazardly put together. [00:38:32] Speaker B: We have no time for less. Haphazard. [00:38:34] Speaker A: Okay, so what's the first thing you guys want to do? [00:38:37] Speaker D: So the plan that I had was to hopefully talk to one or two of the guards and have them positioned somewhere else. They said they don't need to be up on the stage, they need to be somewhere else. We're not expecting anyone to attack the stage or whatever to have them, you know what I mean? You feel me? [00:38:58] Speaker A: Got you. So we can't reduce the number of guards that are on the stage because it's a skeleton crew as it is, but you might be able to talk out some guards that should have been patrolling the area and be like, oh, you're not needed in the square. They're doing an execution. You can go elsewhere. [00:39:14] Speaker D: I wanted to specifically do that as disguised as that one intern. I have his name written down, but it's like, favar favar. My writing's bad. The ink ran out when I was writing it. [00:39:26] Speaker E: What has that dude ever done to you? [00:39:28] Speaker B: Everything. [00:39:30] Speaker D: Oh, my he's basically the reason why I'm here. Well, apart from the things that I was doing. [00:39:39] Speaker B: You got interned. [00:39:41] Speaker F: Rats. [00:39:41] Speaker A: That's a name I didn't write down in my dust here. [00:39:43] Speaker D: Yeah, I have frav, and then I can't read the rest of it, but. [00:39:48] Speaker B: It ends in an R, so fravaroni. [00:39:52] Speaker D: Fravar. [00:39:52] Speaker C: Frav. [00:39:53] Speaker E: You haven't said his name any point, have you? [00:39:56] Speaker D: He hasn't come up. None of my old days at the company. [00:40:00] Speaker B: Let's just call the intern. [00:40:02] Speaker A: Yeah, I didn't put his name down. [00:40:05] Speaker D: Say it's. [00:40:08] Speaker A: You cannot take on the appearance of a specific person. [00:40:11] Speaker D: I thought it said you could. [00:40:13] Speaker A: At third level, you can. [00:40:14] Speaker D: These are first level. So it's just a change. Darn. Well, my plan's out of the window. [00:40:20] Speaker A: So what you could do is essentially disguise yourself like somebody else and then leverage your knowledge of the company to claim to be something. Three scrolls, because that's expensive. I mean, you've been in town, you've talked to people, so you know you got your old job. [00:40:37] Speaker D: I'm still going to throw his name out there. [00:40:39] Speaker E: Nice. [00:40:40] Speaker A: Okay, go ahead and make a deception check. [00:40:47] Speaker B: Quick. Argue a different. [00:40:53] Speaker D: I'm not a lawyer. [00:40:56] Speaker B: Everything you've been doing implies to me that you should have. Jordy seems confused as to why. [00:41:07] Speaker A: It's not my fault your character is very uptight on legal lore stuff and making contracts and doesn't have legal due to my society. [00:41:16] Speaker D: I'm an accountant. [00:41:19] Speaker A: He's from the accountant society. [00:41:24] Speaker D: Twelve. I really suck at deception. [00:41:29] Speaker A: So you disguise yourself like a different person so you would look nothing like Alward, and you go up to the enforcers, who you know are supposed to be patrolling the area, and you're like, hey, you're not needed here. It's orders from and you're like, you can't quite remember the name, and you're tripping up over it. And they're like, you mean that guy in accounting? [00:41:55] Speaker D: I don't know who gave me the orders. I don't remember the name exactly. I just remember I was told to tell you all, you're not supposed to be here. [00:42:02] Speaker A: And one of them is like, until we get some orders with a seal, we're not changing our routes. [00:42:07] Speaker D: I didn't bring the paper. I'll be back. I walk off like, I'm going to go get the paperwork. [00:42:14] Speaker A: And while Alward is working on that, who else is trying to do something to thin their ranks? [00:42:19] Speaker C: Abby's doing nothing. Neros on the other. [00:42:22] Speaker B: Oh, that makes sense. [00:42:27] Speaker C: The only problem is the spell only works on one. [00:42:30] Speaker B: So well, if it's possible, you to charm one of the three guards on the stage. [00:42:39] Speaker F: That will be on the stage. [00:42:41] Speaker C: That will be on the stage. Okay. [00:42:45] Speaker A: Since you had contact with the spy and we drew the curtain on that scene and moved away quickly, we can also retcon flashback and say you got intel from that spy and you know who's going to be up on the gallows. [00:43:00] Speaker C: Okay, so I'll approach one of the enforcers guards, whoever that is, try to work my magic, literally and figuratively. And figuratively. [00:43:18] Speaker B: Is that a saving throw? [00:43:19] Speaker C: It is a will saving thread. [00:43:20] Speaker D: Hey there, big boy. [00:43:21] Speaker C: Hey. Wink, wink, finger guns. [00:43:25] Speaker B: Good morning, SUP. [00:43:28] Speaker A: And what's your DC 18? So he fails. [00:43:31] Speaker D: Oh, I was going to be so sad. If you're like, he critically succeeds. [00:43:36] Speaker C: All right, wait a minute. You are trying to jake, so you're friendly towards Neros. [00:43:45] Speaker A: The way that that'll work then, is he likes Neros. He's not going to go out of his way to make sacrifices and stuff. [00:43:53] Speaker C: To make things work for not a critical thing. [00:43:55] Speaker A: I like you. You're a good person. We're close, we're friends, that kind of thing. However, if Neros takes any hostile actions against him or his allies, then the spell will end and he will go back to normal. So so did you want to get one of the guys who was, like, watching the crowd or the guy who's going to be actually working with Trov? [00:44:17] Speaker C: I thought it was one of the guys actually working with Trov. From what I understood, there's only one. [00:44:21] Speaker D: Guy working with Trov. [00:44:22] Speaker B: The other two just on crowd duty. [00:44:24] Speaker A: So there's three guys who are up on the platform. Two of them are just making sure nobody approaches the platform, and the third is going to be actually, like, tying Trov up, getting the nuisan, pulling the. [00:44:34] Speaker B: Lever, then that guy, I guess. [00:44:37] Speaker A: All right. He is friendly towards Neros. And as Neros finishes that, we do like, a transition where the camera moves behind a couple barrels and on the other side. Who else do we have preparing? [00:44:50] Speaker F: I guess me. [00:44:51] Speaker B: Cool. [00:44:52] Speaker D: You got to get a gun. [00:44:54] Speaker F: So where can I get a gun in this joint? Probably not from one of the guys. [00:45:03] Speaker B: Well, you could swipe it from someone. [00:45:05] Speaker F: I was thinking about that. But they'd probably notice. [00:45:08] Speaker D: And then you can disguise yourself as an enforcer. [00:45:12] Speaker F: Would my clothes change, too? [00:45:14] Speaker D: Yes, you could do that. [00:45:15] Speaker A: Here's the catch. [00:45:16] Speaker D: My gun. [00:45:17] Speaker A: You can only change your height within a few inches. [00:45:20] Speaker F: Six. [00:45:21] Speaker D: Yeah, it is within six. [00:45:24] Speaker F: Give me a plan. And then it all falls apart. [00:45:27] Speaker E: How tall are you again? [00:45:28] Speaker B: Like four foot. [00:45:29] Speaker E: So you could be four foot six. [00:45:31] Speaker D: I mean, you can still try. [00:45:32] Speaker B: What do you mean? There aren't any short enforcers? [00:45:35] Speaker A: Aren't you a little short to be an enforcer? [00:45:38] Speaker B: No, I'm a halfling. [00:45:39] Speaker E: Yes, I am. [00:45:40] Speaker B: I'm your boss. I'm a halfling. [00:45:46] Speaker F: Well, you said it was a skeleton crew, so make a skeleton. How guarded does the jail area seem? [00:45:55] Speaker A: More heavily guarded. They actually still have a lot of people who are in the cells and jails and stuff that aren't currently being executed. [00:46:04] Speaker F: Are there any gunsmiths or sellers, cell dealers around? [00:46:14] Speaker A: So the interesting thing no, there's no gun manufacturing in this town. They actually have them all imported from Alkenstar. They do. However, in the barracks, they have like a gun repair shop. Armory, too? Definitely they have an armory, but that may be more challenging to get into. [00:46:34] Speaker B: That's what I was thinking. [00:46:38] Speaker F: Since we've got the intel on them, we would know who was going to be on the stage, correct? [00:46:42] Speaker A: Yes. Let's call them Joe, Bob and Tim. [00:46:47] Speaker F: Bob would be the one dealing with Trov, right? [00:46:49] Speaker A: Yes. Bob is charmed right now. [00:46:50] Speaker F: Joe, Bob and Tim. So Joe or Tim, would I be able to see them on the street patrolling, or would they be getting ready for their big production before the happenings. [00:47:03] Speaker E: Within the jail, getting their uniforms all spiffed up? [00:47:09] Speaker F: Polishing? [00:47:10] Speaker A: Yeah. No, I think that's actually exactly what's going on, is they're preparing, making sure they've got their appearance perfect spick and span, because they're going to be getting out in front of people. [00:47:19] Speaker B: And would that be within the barracks? [00:47:20] Speaker F: Most likely, yeah. [00:47:21] Speaker B: For one night only. [00:47:24] Speaker D: See the execution of this man. [00:47:26] Speaker B: And I think everyone's really interested because this is not the first time Travis been on the is he really going. [00:47:32] Speaker F: To die this time? [00:47:34] Speaker E: One night only. We don't believe that. [00:47:36] Speaker B: We'll see it crossed out and says four nights. [00:47:40] Speaker F: So I'm going to disguise myself as a child, just a street child, somebody who runs around, but I'm going to. [00:47:53] Speaker E: Use. [00:47:55] Speaker F: This slight deceptive maneuver to try to make my way into the barracks. I'm going to see if I can get there before I make any moves. [00:48:08] Speaker A: Go ahead and make a stealth or a deception check. [00:48:12] Speaker B: A stealth. Deception or decelth? [00:48:17] Speaker F: Let me see which one's better. Definitely stealth. 19 plus eight. That is a 27. [00:48:30] Speaker A: That's a critical success. [00:48:32] Speaker E: Heck yeah. [00:48:33] Speaker A: So you get up to the outside of that barracks and you're thinking, okay, I might be able to sneak in there. I might be able to bluff my way in there. And then you just notice, like, a window that somebody left open in an alleyway. And you're able to just do, like, hop onto a crate, jump into the window, pull yourself in. You are in the barracks unnoticed. [00:48:52] Speaker F: I'm going to go for the first how do you say gun without saying gun? [00:48:59] Speaker B: Rifle. [00:49:00] Speaker F: Firearm. I see farm and you get your. [00:49:03] Speaker A: Hands on an archivus. [00:49:05] Speaker F: I don't know what that is, but I get my hands on it. [00:49:09] Speaker D: It's a rifle. [00:49:11] Speaker F: I'm going to make sure that there's at least one round. Oh, my gosh. With a rifle. [00:49:21] Speaker A: It is like a one round. Like, you'd load one and then five muzle loaded one. Yeah, but you can collect, like, five or six extra rounds while you're in here without worrying about exposing yourself since you critically succeeded. [00:49:34] Speaker F: Okay, I will do that. [00:49:37] Speaker B: Shake all of their guns. I'll do that. [00:49:42] Speaker F: Then I'll grab a couple around something that I can I don't see myself shooting more than one, but grab one. Then I'm going to hop right out. Not actually hop out. That probably sounds kind of scary. A kid with a gun jumping out of a window. [00:50:00] Speaker B: It's a real kid has a gun. [00:50:03] Speaker F: I've done plenty of rolling today, and. [00:50:06] Speaker B: It'S a real stunt to pay tribute to Tom Cruise for real. [00:50:13] Speaker A: So this kid jumps out of the window of the barracks with a gun and a few extra rounds, looks around and disappears down an alleyway, disappears into. [00:50:23] Speaker F: The night, and then I'm going to hide it within my cloak. Is this thing as tall as me? [00:50:29] Speaker D: You said it was a rifle. [00:50:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:50:30] Speaker B: Okay. [00:50:31] Speaker E: It's an old muzzle loader. Yeah, it's taller than you, I figured. [00:50:34] Speaker F: But you never know. [00:50:36] Speaker A: Quick question for Abby. I forgot to ask. How did Neros disguise herself when she was talking to the guard previously as. [00:50:47] Speaker C: A very pretty lady? [00:50:51] Speaker D: Don't know what else you want. So she didn't disguise herself? [00:50:53] Speaker C: No, she did. She doesn't look like herself. [00:50:56] Speaker D: She doesn't look like a Fetchling. [00:50:57] Speaker B: She's another pretty lady. [00:50:58] Speaker C: She doesn't look like a Fetchling. [00:51:01] Speaker B: Nice. I'm dressed as a soldier. [00:51:04] Speaker F: She's a fetching. Fetchling. [00:51:06] Speaker B: Not a fetch, an enforcer. [00:51:08] Speaker A: Oh, got you. [00:51:09] Speaker E: I'm dressed as an old beggar. [00:51:12] Speaker A: All right. And with that, I think our stage is set. Everybody comes back from their various errands just as the enforcers are bringing Trov up onto the gallows, and we're going to roll initiative. [00:51:27] Speaker E: I'm going to recon that. I'm going to be dressed as a. [00:51:29] Speaker F: Young beggar doesn't change your ability to move. [00:51:34] Speaker C: Still a beggar. [00:51:35] Speaker E: I'm still a beggar. I look young. [00:51:37] Speaker A: Well, in that case, you don't have to roll it. [00:51:40] Speaker E: Well, thank you. [00:51:42] Speaker F: I rolled a natural 20 for 25. [00:51:46] Speaker D: Would I be allowed to use my thing? [00:51:48] Speaker A: Yes. Okay, your special ability? [00:51:52] Speaker D: Yeah, that's an eight. [00:51:53] Speaker A: Neros, 16, uber, 23, and Hamir, 21. [00:52:00] Speaker B: Zafir, if you could wait to shoot until I give you the signal. [00:52:06] Speaker F: How am I going to know what the signal is? [00:52:08] Speaker B: We talked about it ahead of time. [00:52:11] Speaker D: Ready your action to shoot. Okay. [00:52:14] Speaker A: All right. So we're going to begin just as the guards are finishing stepping up on the platform. We're going to begin initiative, order. Because time is now of the essence, it's not necessarily a combat, just an encounter. And we will start with Zafir. [00:52:31] Speaker F: I will ready my rifle. I probably came from behind. I'm assuming that up north is where the jail is. [00:52:43] Speaker B: That better be north. Jordy yeah, not south, not south. [00:52:47] Speaker C: It's the map aligned correctly this time. [00:52:50] Speaker E: It's up. [00:52:50] Speaker A: Thank you, Nero. So where do you want to be? [00:52:52] Speaker C: I want to be at least within eyeline of the guard that I sweet talked. [00:52:59] Speaker A: Gotcha. So standing in the front of the crowd, like, at the front of the stage, you might say. [00:53:06] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:53:06] Speaker A: All right. [00:53:07] Speaker B: Hamir I want to be close to one of the staircases up, so you're. [00:53:12] Speaker A: Only, like, 10ft away from being able to just run up onto the platform. [00:53:16] Speaker B: I think I want to be on Trov side, though. [00:53:18] Speaker A: Okay. [00:53:19] Speaker B: So I'm on the west side. [00:53:21] Speaker A: UVair, I will be there next to the other staircase. [00:53:28] Speaker E: Yes. [00:53:29] Speaker A: And Alward at home. [00:53:33] Speaker E: That is where I would like to be nine years. [00:53:36] Speaker C: Like, never mind. I don't want to participate. [00:53:39] Speaker D: Yeah. Why am I even here? [00:53:41] Speaker B: Jordy he's walking down the sidewalk. [00:53:45] Speaker D: No, I would like to be just out of the ring where people would notice if I did stuff. But still within 60ft of trough, if possible. [00:53:56] Speaker A: Perfect. You can be right there and be within 40ft. [00:53:59] Speaker B: Do we see Raya or any of them? [00:54:01] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:54:03] Speaker A: Since you know what to look for, you can see that they've got a wagon prepared to leave south out of the western road there, southwest out of that southwestern road, out of the square. [00:54:14] Speaker B: All the way down there where I. [00:54:15] Speaker D: Was walking home, and then I saw them and was like, I can't. [00:54:22] Speaker A: You were inspired. [00:54:23] Speaker D: He gets in the wagon, just sits and waits. [00:54:26] Speaker F: So now that we've all decided where we're all standing, I will ready or prepare to shoot whenever I see the signal. But before I do that, I am going to send a message to Trov. [00:54:41] Speaker B: Oh. [00:54:42] Speaker F: Just give him a little whisper from my location and say, when you get the chance, run with us. [00:54:54] Speaker D: Maybe give him instructions. Maybe say, run southwest to Be. [00:55:00] Speaker B: Run southwest. I'm sure he'll recognize me, too, so he can be confused he can be disguised. I'm partly disguised, yes, but I'm sure. [00:55:09] Speaker F: Anyway, I'm going to assume that if somebody's running kind of helping him get out right. He's going to go with him, but just give him some. [00:55:22] Speaker B: Forethought for whatever. [00:55:24] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:55:26] Speaker A: And you can see he kind of, like, twitches a little bit when he hears that, but apart from that, makes no other reaction, and the guards don't seem to have noticed anything. [00:55:33] Speaker B: Good. [00:55:35] Speaker A: UVair is your turn. [00:55:40] Speaker E: I'm going to delay. [00:55:41] Speaker A: All right, hamer. [00:55:44] Speaker B: So we see Hamir walking through the crowds. He's in a full enforcer get up. It looks a little different in his face and stuff, too. And on his garve, he's got that little toy soldier hanging on his front somewhere, and he pulls out some papers and starts moving in towards the stairs. And he's like, hold up, hold up, hold up. Hold on a second. I've just received news, and both of. [00:56:12] Speaker A: The enforcers on the stage turn to look at you and reflexively move like they're going to lower their guns at you, but then they notice your garb. I'm going to need you to make a deception check with a plus four status bonus. [00:56:24] Speaker B: With a plus four status bonus illusion. So I'm rolling with plus 13 because. [00:56:28] Speaker A: He'S specifically disguised as one of that group. [00:56:31] Speaker C: Very nervous right now. [00:56:34] Speaker B: I'm trying to decide if I want to use a hero point right now. That would give me a 22. [00:56:38] Speaker D: I mean, 22 is pretty good. [00:56:40] Speaker B: That is pretty good. But you say if we use a hero point, we get to take the better fortune effect. I think I'm going to use tuck and roll to go ahead and try a reroll. Okay, so 22 is my best roll. It went down by two, was my last roll. [00:56:58] Speaker A: And they relax their guns back up into an upright position. They're like, You've got new orders? [00:57:04] Speaker B: Yes. Straight from I guess Sithri is what I would say. Right. Hold on. I would know what isn't she, like, in charge of them? [00:57:16] Speaker A: She's in the PR department straight from. [00:57:19] Speaker D: The Upper Brath or something. [00:57:21] Speaker B: Right. I think I would know some names. [00:57:24] Speaker A: Yeah. You lived in this town for a while. [00:57:26] Speaker B: I would say I'm just going to say some guy's name right from Pete Ralph's mouth. And I'll start walking up. [00:57:35] Speaker F: So Pete Ralph and as soon as. [00:57:39] Speaker B: I get up on the stairs, I kind of knock my helmet. And that is the signal. [00:57:46] Speaker F: That's the signal. [00:57:48] Speaker A: All right. So Hayner steps up onto the platform, knocks on his helmet, which is the signal, and Zafir, you may use your reaction. [00:57:59] Speaker E: That's the shotgun. Yeah. [00:58:00] Speaker F: Rifles don't have that muzzle loaders. [00:58:03] Speaker B: Don't. What do I have in my head? I'm not proficient in gun. [00:58:08] Speaker F: I figure all I need to do, point at the sky and pull the. [00:58:13] Speaker A: Trigger, and there is an ear splitting crack. All of the enforcers look around, like, in shock. Random people just start turning and running, and there is instant mass mayhem. [00:58:24] Speaker B: This is when I grab Trova, jump off the stage. [00:58:26] Speaker F: Also, I throw the gun. [00:58:28] Speaker E: Yeah, nice. [00:58:30] Speaker B: Now they have your fingerprints. We're just going to start running, and then can I just end illusory disguises when I want to? [00:58:37] Speaker E: Why would you? [00:58:38] Speaker A: Yes, you can dismiss it as an action. [00:58:39] Speaker B: Depends on if we get away, and I need to not look like an enforcer or something like that. So, yeah, I'm going to run my 30ft, and if I'm able to use another action, just keep running. [00:58:51] Speaker A: So it'd be one action to grab Trov. [00:58:53] Speaker B: Okay, that's fine. [00:58:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:58:54] Speaker B: So I'm going to run into the crowd, which is now all freaking out. [00:58:59] Speaker A: Getting up to the edge of the crowd is as far as you can get because Trov's not quite as quick a runner since he only has one leg. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Yeah. Get moving, old man. [00:59:07] Speaker F: Sling him over your shoulder, brah. [00:59:09] Speaker B: He's got well, does he currently have any replacements on, or is he just missing an arm and a leg? [00:59:15] Speaker A: Currently just missing an arm and a leg. [00:59:17] Speaker B: I guess I'm carrying. [00:59:20] Speaker A: The important question that we're doing. [00:59:22] Speaker B: We're doing a three legged race. [00:59:29] Speaker A: That's what the rope was worse. [00:59:32] Speaker B: No, we're assuming the three legged race position. [00:59:35] Speaker D: Okay. [00:59:35] Speaker B: Because, like, if he's moving a leg in tandem with mine, then wouldn't that be moving faster than running? [00:59:42] Speaker D: Depends on if you can move in tandem. [00:59:44] Speaker B: We are old friends. [00:59:45] Speaker A: I'm going to say hamir grabs Trov, and Trov, like, leans on him, and they both just in sync. Jump off the platform and start running off. And the natural fluidity of the motion is, like, weird. Like, they have done this a lot. [01:00:00] Speaker B: Trov knows how to run Uber. [01:00:03] Speaker A: Would you like to jump in? [01:00:05] Speaker E: So UVair is going to actually start running with the crowd, so to speak, and I'm going to ready an action with my last two for. [01:00:20] Speaker D: Do. [01:00:20] Speaker C: What is that? [01:00:21] Speaker A: First off, is Befuddle a single action spell? [01:00:23] Speaker B: No. [01:00:24] Speaker A: So you would need to spend three actions to ready Befuddle. [01:00:27] Speaker D: That is a house rule, just as a reminder. But he is correct. [01:00:30] Speaker B: Oh, I thought he was just casting it. [01:00:31] Speaker E: No, I wasn't going to cast it. [01:00:33] Speaker B: It wouldn't be a bad idea to just cast right now. They have to within 30ft of you. [01:00:38] Speaker E: Yeah. Which I think they are. [01:00:40] Speaker A: Yeah. Tim the enforcer on the eastern side is then yeah. [01:00:45] Speaker E: I'll turn and cast Befuddle on Tim. [01:00:49] Speaker B: Befuddle is really good. [01:00:51] Speaker A: Chant. [01:00:51] Speaker B: Tim, even on a success, they're still clumsy one and stupefied one. [01:00:55] Speaker A: Might I ask what your DC is? [01:00:57] Speaker E: Certainly. DC of 19. [01:01:01] Speaker A: That's a critical failure. [01:01:03] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [01:01:04] Speaker C: Nice. [01:01:05] Speaker D: Wait, what happens on a critical? [01:01:06] Speaker A: He got a two on the die. [01:01:08] Speaker B: Then we'll tell. [01:01:11] Speaker C: That's so good. [01:01:12] Speaker B: Oh, wow. Awesome. [01:01:14] Speaker E: The target is clumsy three, stupefied three and confused. [01:01:19] Speaker B: Yes. [01:01:21] Speaker D: This man is shut down. [01:01:23] Speaker B: That means he might attack. He might attack his friends. Yeah. [01:01:27] Speaker D: Oh, my God. [01:01:30] Speaker B: That's awesome. And he goes next. [01:01:31] Speaker A: So Uber is just, like, making his way through the crowd, just, like, pretending to panic while he's making arcane sigils over his head. And then Tim on the platform just, like, sways side to side for a second, like, grasping at his head, instantly looking totally drunk. And it is now his Sven. [01:01:52] Speaker E: Nice. [01:01:53] Speaker D: Good one, man. [01:01:56] Speaker A: One moment. [01:01:57] Speaker C: Let's just confuse all of these guards. [01:01:59] Speaker A: I don't work with confusion. [01:02:00] Speaker B: Like, I saw a girl I thought was kind of pretty. Now things are happening, and now Tim's freaking out. Bob's just standing there. [01:02:09] Speaker D: Kid over there with a gun. [01:02:11] Speaker B: What is going on today? [01:02:13] Speaker A: So, since Uber has cast that spell in that nearer ring where you can be observed doing suspicious things, I will count Uber as a valid target for his confusion. But the way confusion works is he will randomly just start attacking. [01:02:29] Speaker D: Does that also mean he can attack civilians? [01:02:32] Speaker A: Yes. [01:02:32] Speaker C: Can he attack his friends? [01:02:34] Speaker D: Still a good poll, but so I'm. [01:02:37] Speaker A: Going to roll a die. One, he's going to shoot at Joe. Two, he's going to shoot at Bob. Three, he's going to shoot at Hamir. Four is Trov, five is Uber, and six is a random civilian. [01:02:52] Speaker D: No, sixes. [01:02:56] Speaker A: I rolled a five. [01:02:57] Speaker B: Is that trov? [01:02:58] Speaker A: Which is Uber? [01:02:59] Speaker E: That's me. [01:03:00] Speaker B: Oh, no. [01:03:02] Speaker A: Trials usually go grabs at his head and sways for a second and then blinks, like, trying to clear his vision. And then he just focuses laser focus on this young beggar in the crowd and raises his gun and fires with Andy's. [01:03:19] Speaker B: Clumsy. This is his decks. So he takes minus three on all of this. [01:03:22] Speaker A: A 19 to hit. [01:03:24] Speaker E: Yeah, that hit. [01:03:26] Speaker A: And there's another deafening crack as a bullet just slices through the crowd, grazes Uber's shoulder, and you take two piercing damage. [01:03:35] Speaker B: Oh, no. Uber is half dead. [01:03:38] Speaker E: Are you not that? [01:03:39] Speaker B: No. He's got more health than probably because he's a dwarf. [01:03:43] Speaker A: And he continues. He pulls the trigger again, and then seems to almost remember that he needs to reload his gun, and then just, like, grunts in frustration and steps over to the center of the platform towards Bob and just, like, bashes him across the heading. All of the modifiers and the results of his role. He got a composite of a one. I got a two on the die. [01:04:16] Speaker B: Why me? [01:04:18] Speaker D: I would have died if it wasn't at 20. [01:04:21] Speaker A: I don't know if you meant you would have died laughing or if you would have your character would have died. [01:04:25] Speaker D: Me, personally, jenkins would have dropped dead. [01:04:31] Speaker A: Let us hope this doesn't happen. Neros, it's your turn. You just saw your friend Bob. He just got almost bashed on the head. [01:04:38] Speaker C: Bob, my love. [01:04:45] Speaker B: Oh, no. [01:04:46] Speaker D: You get attached fast anyway. [01:04:52] Speaker B: Well, you don't necessarily have to do anything. [01:04:55] Speaker C: I know. [01:04:56] Speaker B: Or you could run to Bob's safety. You could save Bob and start fighting Tim. [01:05:03] Speaker C: I was also thinking about casting Days on Joe. [01:05:08] Speaker D: If you do that. I don't know if you can, but if you want to take a step out of the ring, that way you. [01:05:13] Speaker B: Won'T become a target, and Bob might not see you cast a spell against an Allen. [01:05:17] Speaker C: That's true. [01:05:18] Speaker B: If you step out first, just under. [01:05:20] Speaker C: The COVID the crowd is fine, and then I'm going to cast days. I need a will save. [01:05:27] Speaker A: All right. What's your DC 18? He fails. No, sorry. He critically fails. Exactly. [01:05:36] Speaker D: What? [01:05:37] Speaker A: My dice are cursed. [01:05:38] Speaker B: That's great. [01:05:39] Speaker D: Keep him that way. [01:05:40] Speaker C: Beautiful. So he takes three mental damage. [01:05:44] Speaker D: Nice. [01:05:45] Speaker C: Make that seven. You are stunned one or Joe is. [01:05:49] Speaker B: Stunned and Jordy and Jordy is also stunned one. [01:05:53] Speaker A: I am stunned at my roles tonight. So Neros is, like, pushing her way through the crowd, still in disguise as a different pretty Woman. [01:06:02] Speaker C: Pretty Woman. [01:06:03] Speaker A: And as she's moving, she just kind of reaches over behind her, briefly, makes eye contact with Joe, and just boop. And he just, like, grabs his head as he's racked with pain. And his mind regions. [01:06:16] Speaker C: His mind regions. [01:06:18] Speaker A: And he will lose one action on his next turn. [01:06:21] Speaker B: Awesome. [01:06:22] Speaker A: Trov is spending his turn keeping up with Haymir. It is now Joe's turn, who's just. [01:06:28] Speaker B: Been attempted to be punched by his friend Tim, who shot Bob. [01:06:36] Speaker A: Joe is stunned, and he knows that somebody in the crowd has attempted to target him with a spell, but he also knows that his quarry is getting away. So with one action, he's going to jump down off of the platform and run up to Trov. And with a second action, he's going to attempt to grapple Trov. [01:06:55] Speaker B: I guess you can grapple a grappled creature, can't you? [01:06:58] Speaker A: It's a grapple contest. [01:07:00] Speaker B: Does it against any of my DCs. [01:07:03] Speaker A: Because I have him grabbed so he can theoretically, successfully grab Trov. But I think if you've got Trov grabbed as well, you can attempt to break him out of his grapple. Oh, he grabs Trov for sure. It's not a critical success, but he definitely has Trov grabbed, which will complicate any further escape attempts. Now it's Bob's turn because Joe was stunned and he only got two actions. It is now Bob's turn. And he just turns to Tim and he's like, what's your deal, man? And he notices the frenzied look in Tim's eyes that he's just going to continue attacking things. So Bob attempts to take down Tim with non lethal damage. [01:07:50] Speaker B: My friend is frenzied. I must beat him until he's unconscious. [01:08:00] Speaker C: What is that face for? [01:08:01] Speaker A: These guys are pathetic. Bob just, like, starts swinging the butt of his gun at Tim, and the two of them are just, know, like in cartoons, where they're just, like, just swinging their arms uselessly at each other, neither of them connecting with any blows. [01:08:17] Speaker C: Amazing. [01:08:21] Speaker A: Alward, it is your turn. [01:08:23] Speaker D: So things have changed from what I. Was going to do, because I was just going to cast and give everybody, like, extra movement. But now that man is grappled, and we'd have to wait for Trov's turn for him to get ungrappled. [01:08:37] Speaker B: No, my turn. [01:08:38] Speaker A: Not necessarily. [01:08:39] Speaker B: I might be able to do something. I think I can trip the guy and break the grapple. [01:08:43] Speaker D: Okay. [01:08:44] Speaker A: I think I'm thinking of what you're thinking, and I think what you're thinking will work. If you're thinking what I'm thinking, you're thinking. [01:08:50] Speaker D: So what I'm going to do how many people are within 30ft of me? [01:08:55] Speaker A: Of your allies? Hamir, Trov, UVair, and Neros are, but Zafir is out of that 30 foot range. He is actually 60ft away. [01:09:04] Speaker D: All right, that's fine. Let's see. So how I imagine is because I can't see anybody because of the crowd, I'm just going to hold out my hand and sort of grasp at nothing, and then in sort of slightly glittering line is going to shoot through the crowd and connect to everyone that you just named, except for the man at the top, Zafir. And then I'm going to grasp it, and it's all going to sort of shatter, and everyone gets an extra movement action. [01:09:34] Speaker B: Awesome. [01:09:34] Speaker D: As a free action, including trough. [01:09:39] Speaker A: For a second, I thought you meant casting the spell as a free action. [01:09:42] Speaker D: Yes, I was. No, you can't stop me. It's been said. And then for my last action, I'm going to act like I'm moving with the crowd. No, I don't want to move too far away, but I do need to move. Yeah, I'm going to move with the crowd, but move slowly toward the thing. [01:10:01] Speaker B: This is a situation where we could have assigned a meeting place, and not really everyone has to get to the wagon. If you're not okay, if you're not known, you can just leave. [01:10:10] Speaker D: Then I'm going to go ahead and move with the crowd to attempt to leave, because I'm assuming they got it. But I also want to stay within a certain range, I think, only in. [01:10:19] Speaker B: Case it goes back. And me need to get to the wagon right now. [01:10:22] Speaker D: Okay. [01:10:23] Speaker B: Because Uber has been seen, although he looks like a young beggar if it gets around a corner. [01:10:30] Speaker E: Except I'm wounded. [01:10:31] Speaker B: Well oh, that's true. [01:10:33] Speaker D: And that is my turn. [01:10:34] Speaker A: All right. [01:10:36] Speaker B: All old men are wounded. [01:10:39] Speaker A: And then the camera kind of follows Alward as he's pushing his way through the crowd, and then it pulls back up onto a rooftop and over the shoulder of a figure wearing a blue tunic and a hood pulled over their head with an arrow knocked, pointing at Alward as he's walking away. And that's where we're going to end this. [01:11:08] Speaker B: Is Albert finally going to die? [01:11:10] Speaker C: Who's shooting at me? [01:11:13] Speaker A: A question for another episode. [01:11:14] Speaker B: It's the spy. I know it's your sister. [01:11:21] Speaker D: That would somehow make sense, but I would hate it. [01:11:25] Speaker B: She's graduated from sweeping sister from the future. [01:11:28] Speaker A: I have a controversial moment that I'm not going to make precedence. I am choosing Jenkins because I'm about to shoot him. [01:11:39] Speaker D: Is that okay with everyone? [01:11:40] Speaker C: Yeah, that's fine. [01:11:41] Speaker B: It's fine. [01:11:45] Speaker D: All right, well, thank you all so much for this. I'm going to need it. I grabbed grazing blow. I play after I get hit with a strike. It doesn't specify melee. If they roll the critical success, they get a success instead. If they roll the success, it deals minimum damage instead of rolling for damage. [01:12:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:12:05] Speaker D: So thank you all again for this. I'm going to go home and make a backup character because I feel like I'm albert's not going to live long. Bye.
