[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part, such as like comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off? Ah, yes. Zaphir's bogeyman stalker approached him. While the rest of the party relaxed in the Dancing fairy Inn, he offered to bring Zaphir's family back to life on condition that Zafir murdered Alwood's family. [00:01:01] Speaker C: I like quest for Camelot. [00:01:03] Speaker D: I would be willing to watch Quest for Camelot again, I would not watch. [00:01:07] Speaker E: Fengel has an amazing villain song, like top tier villain song. [00:01:10] Speaker D: So does quest for Camelot. [00:01:12] Speaker E: Really? I don't remember that. [00:01:16] Speaker C: I don't. [00:01:16] Speaker D: It has a villain song. [00:01:18] Speaker C: I mean, it does. [00:01:19] Speaker B: Where else can you get Gary Oldman singing a villain song? [00:01:22] Speaker A: You want to know one of the best villain songs that I actually know of? [00:01:26] Speaker C: Be prepared in the Lion King. [00:01:29] Speaker A: No, I think I've actually never watched Lion King. [00:01:32] Speaker E: It has been so long since I've. [00:01:34] Speaker A: Not going to watch the Lion King king. [00:01:35] Speaker E: My gut instinct is that it's better than that. Okay, so I could be wrong. [00:01:40] Speaker A: So the best villain song that I know of, or one of the best villain songs that I know of is actually. How can I refuse? From Princess and the Pauper Barbie. [00:01:50] Speaker B: I agree, actually. [00:01:51] Speaker C: Yeah, I could see. [00:01:52] Speaker E: Yeah, yeah. Not seen this. [00:01:54] Speaker C: I have many, many. [00:01:57] Speaker E: I'm gonna. You're gonna look it up and we're gonna. You're gonna show me, like, how could I use. [00:02:01] Speaker B: Preminger is a national treasure. [00:02:03] Speaker A: True. Preminger. [00:02:04] Speaker E: Preminger I've never seen. That was in movies. [00:02:08] Speaker A: That was in the, that was in the golden years of Barbara. [00:02:11] Speaker C: It was in the golden years of barbaric. I watched my sister and then they all went as, as a girl, I can attest to this. They all went downhill. There was one, the Nutcracker, the first one. That is one of the first. That is. I think that is the first one. And it is. [00:02:29] Speaker D: It's true. [00:02:30] Speaker A: It is. [00:02:31] Speaker C: I love. [00:02:31] Speaker E: Is it good because it's the nutcracker? Is it good? Just. [00:02:33] Speaker C: It's just good because it was in the golden era of Barbie movies. [00:02:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:02:37] Speaker E: Okay. [00:02:38] Speaker B: Tim Curry is the villain. [00:02:39] Speaker E: Really? [00:02:40] Speaker B: Yes. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Actually? Yes. [00:02:41] Speaker F: You know what? My favorite movie with Tim Curry is in the sequel, directly direct to video, beauty and the Beast. Oh, no, he isn't. Pipe organ. [00:02:49] Speaker D: Why would you do it? [00:02:50] Speaker F: Is the. He is the best. [00:02:52] Speaker E: I don't know. [00:02:52] Speaker C: We don't talk about that movie. [00:02:53] Speaker E: But my car you know, my car has, like, little pictures of, like, depending on what's going through, what I'm listening to. And one of the pictures is of Tim Curry. [00:03:03] Speaker C: You don't know why. [00:03:04] Speaker E: You don't know why he's just there. I'm like, hello, Tim? [00:03:07] Speaker F: What if your gps had a Tim Curry mode? [00:03:11] Speaker A: Turn left here. So another thing, one of my favorite renditions of a Christmas Carol is Barbie. Barbie movie. Barbie did a Christmas Carol. [00:03:23] Speaker E: Who is Barbie in this movie? [00:03:25] Speaker A: Ebenezer Scrooge. [00:03:26] Speaker E: Really? [00:03:27] Speaker A: Yeah, she. [00:03:27] Speaker C: It's like. It's like, what? She's. Okay, so in this movie, the quote unquote Scrooge of it is a famous opera singer. [00:03:36] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:37] Speaker C: Who is our Barbie in this case? And she. Our Barbie, she's very, very successful, and she has to relive her childhood, essentially, through the three spirits of Christmas. [00:03:47] Speaker E: So it's not a one to one. [00:03:49] Speaker A: No, it is. It is a pretty much one to one. [00:03:50] Speaker E: Well, I mean, like, they change things to make sense for Barbie. Do you, Ebony? [00:03:53] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:03:54] Speaker E: Okay. [00:03:54] Speaker A: Except for that. But other than that, the story is pretty well won. [00:03:56] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:03:57] Speaker F: As of July 2023, there are 43 Barbie. [00:04:00] Speaker C: Yes. And most of them are awful. [00:04:02] Speaker D: Where does the Barbie Christmas carol rank with the Muppets Christmas carol? [00:04:07] Speaker C: For me, personally, as a Muppet hater. [00:04:10] Speaker A: I haven't seen the Muppet Christmas carol, so I don't know if you like. [00:04:15] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness, you people. [00:04:16] Speaker B: Muppet Christmas. Muppet Christmas carol is the best Christmas carol. [00:04:19] Speaker D: I agree. [00:04:20] Speaker E: Apparently it's the. [00:04:22] Speaker D: I will admit I have not seen the Barbie Christmas carol, so I might be wrong, but I believe Muppet is. [00:04:28] Speaker C: The best Christmas this year. Christmas feature. Movie time. Barbie and the Muppet. [00:04:34] Speaker E: Let's go. [00:04:34] Speaker A: I'm down. [00:04:36] Speaker C: Yep, back to back double feature. [00:04:38] Speaker A: This is happening. [00:04:39] Speaker F: The Barbie Nutcracker was the first Barbie movie. [00:04:42] Speaker A: Yep. [00:04:42] Speaker F: And the princess and the popper was the fourth. [00:04:44] Speaker C: Yes. [00:04:45] Speaker E: Wait, what was the second and third? [00:04:46] Speaker F: Rapunzel. [00:04:47] Speaker C: Rapunzel. [00:04:47] Speaker A: Rapunzel. Yeah. [00:04:49] Speaker F: I'm on Wikipedia right now, so I have them all, 43 of them. [00:04:53] Speaker E: I remember. I remember seeing. [00:04:54] Speaker C: Wait, what was the third? [00:04:55] Speaker E: Not like swanneling it, but seeing it. [00:04:58] Speaker A: All right. And then the one, the Pegasus one was. [00:05:02] Speaker C: Oh, yes, I loved that one. I actually, when I was a kid, I had, like, the little Pegasus head that you could, like, put makeup on and, like, put breasts in its hair. [00:05:12] Speaker A: I saw the commercial for that one. [00:05:14] Speaker D: Yeah, I remember that one. [00:05:14] Speaker C: I saw the commercial magic of Pegasus. [00:05:16] Speaker D: My older brother, not my oldest brother, used to get a lot of barbies and would watch Barbie movies a lot. So I saw them with him. I vaguely remember them. I was too young to, like, really remember them. [00:05:28] Speaker E: Opening up a whole new world to me and I. [00:05:31] Speaker C: The world of Barbie. [00:05:33] Speaker A: One of my favorites, Barbie movies. And I just love it because it's just relaxing to me. I love twelve dancing princesses because it's amazing. It is. [00:05:42] Speaker C: The movie gets stuck in my head and just the storyline. I love it so much. [00:05:49] Speaker A: I do too. I do too. [00:05:51] Speaker E: Is the decline in Barbie movies like when the horse movie started to come out or is that still in the golden era? I remember, like, barbie horse movies because those were trash. [00:06:00] Speaker A: So I'd say actually start soon after twelve dancing princesses. [00:06:05] Speaker C: Okay. I would say the. All the. The Fairytopia mermaid movies are fine. Somewhere after that, it just took a nosedive. [00:06:13] Speaker A: It. They really did. Oh, the dolphin one. [00:06:17] Speaker C: That was horrible. That one we don't talk about. [00:06:19] Speaker A: We don't talk about that one. That one's pretty much. [00:06:21] Speaker C: It's awesome. [00:06:22] Speaker D: I guess I've only seen some of. [00:06:23] Speaker C: The classics because the classics are where it's at. [00:06:27] Speaker E: Oh, yeah. [00:06:27] Speaker F: You know, the Christmas Carol was actually after Fairytopia. [00:06:30] Speaker D: Oh. [00:06:31] Speaker C: And yeah, I said somewhere after that it took a nosedive. I don't exactly remember. [00:06:37] Speaker A: Twelve dancing princesses was after fair Topia. [00:06:39] Speaker F: These are separated in the Diamond Castle. Ten year, nine year plot. [00:06:43] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:06:44] Speaker F: Five year plot and then three year plot. And then these plots expand. It's not plots. I'm sorry. It's. It's fair. [00:06:51] Speaker A: To be fair, Toby of a radio is like a three movie world. [00:06:55] Speaker C: Fairytopia. Mermaidia and Mariposa. [00:06:58] Speaker A: Oh, you're right. It is. It is what? [00:07:00] Speaker C: I know. This is my domain. Sven. Thank you, Sven. [00:07:05] Speaker D: We should watch some of these. [00:07:07] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:07:07] Speaker C: Okay. [00:07:08] Speaker F: Barbie and the Three Musketeers. The first one we watch, that one. [00:07:11] Speaker C: Is not that good. No, we not starting at Thumbelina down. It's trash. We don't talk about it. Everything from there up are. Is like the golden era. [00:07:22] Speaker F: That cuts out literally 30 of them. [00:07:24] Speaker C: Yes, exactly. That's my point. [00:07:26] Speaker D: So the first twelve were pretty good. [00:07:27] Speaker C: Yes. And then it went downhills or something. Christmas Carol is. Okay. [00:07:32] Speaker E: So I do. I do have to ask about the animation. Did they do it in a way to, like. They tried to make Barbie animate like a real person or did they do it a way to make it like. [00:07:43] Speaker A: What's fun is that you can actually watch animation grow in between, like Nutcracker and then the lighter ones. You can see the animation change styles. [00:07:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:07:53] Speaker A: Pretty cool. [00:07:53] Speaker F: It started in 2001. So that's what, roughly around the Pixar era. [00:07:59] Speaker B: Pixar. [00:07:59] Speaker F: Beginning. [00:08:00] Speaker B: Speaking of starting, are you guys ready to start? [00:08:03] Speaker E: I guess I want to know more about Barbie. [00:08:06] Speaker C: I could talk. Guys, we need a whole sign up of just talking about Barbie. [00:08:09] Speaker D: When are we playing Barbie? The TTRPG. [00:08:12] Speaker C: I'll run that one. [00:08:14] Speaker D: I guess there has to be, right? [00:08:17] Speaker B: Anyway, if you guys want to talk about Barbie, I'm gonna ask everybody but Sam and petite to leave the room. [00:08:25] Speaker A: Okay, wait, but I wanna talk about that. [00:08:27] Speaker E: You gotta show me the thing while we're waiting. [00:08:29] Speaker A: I will. I will. [00:08:34] Speaker F: So Zafir opens the door and walks through. He does a very quick scan of the room to see who's in it and immediately locks eyes with you. And you can tell that his eyes are blood red. [00:08:54] Speaker D: Like I haven't slept in a while blood red, or like my eyes are bleeding blood red. [00:09:01] Speaker F: What are those things called? My irises are blood red. Not like they normally would be. And you haven't witnessed this because. The last time it happened was when I had jumped out the window and I stabbed. What was her name? To death. [00:09:14] Speaker D: Daetha. [00:09:15] Speaker F: Daetha. You don't know her. [00:09:17] Speaker D: I actually found those here. [00:09:19] Speaker F: Okay, maybe. [00:09:20] Speaker D: Okay, I don't know if I told. [00:09:22] Speaker F: You that before, but Zafir locks eyes with you, and he starts moving towards you quickly as you're moving off the stage. [00:09:30] Speaker D: Oh, hey, Zafir. Are you okay? What's going on? [00:09:35] Speaker F: Val, I need to talk to you. [00:09:39] Speaker D: Okay. [00:09:40] Speaker F: And I need your full and honest opinion. [00:09:45] Speaker D: Okay. [00:09:49] Speaker F: Please sit down with me. [00:09:51] Speaker D: Okay, sure. [00:09:54] Speaker F: Val? [00:09:55] Speaker D: Mm hmm? [00:09:56] Speaker F: Is there something in this world that you would do almost anything for? [00:10:05] Speaker D: She kind of looks off for a second out one of the windows. She's like, I'm not as certain anymore, but I think so, yeah. [00:10:19] Speaker F: So there's something in your heart, something that's deep within you that you would do almost anything to accomplish or acquire? [00:10:29] Speaker D: Almost anything? Yeah, I think. Yeah, I think so. [00:10:33] Speaker F: Would you remove your morals and your values to accomplish it? [00:10:39] Speaker D: Um, I I don't. [00:10:42] Speaker F: What would you do? [00:10:43] Speaker D: Uh, what. What would I do? I I don't think I could give up on my morals. I I. They've become so important. [00:10:53] Speaker F: If it was within your grasp, if it was something that you could reach. [00:10:57] Speaker D: Out, grab, I'd like to think that I would control myself with that. I would keep true to who I am, but I don't know if I would actually do that. [00:11:15] Speaker F: But what if your truth is something that you designed? [00:11:21] Speaker D: I. I used to live in the truth that I designed. And then I lived in a truth that someone else designed for me. And that was a lie. It was bad. But now I live in a truth of beauty and so much more. I live in the truth given to me by my gods right now, Val. [00:11:47] Speaker F: You know me, and you know who I am. [00:11:50] Speaker D: Mm hmm. [00:11:51] Speaker F: I don't follow anyone's rules except for my own. I know, but the rules I have are set by me. They were not given. [00:12:03] Speaker D: I've been there. [00:12:04] Speaker F: If I were to step aside from. [00:12:06] Speaker D: Those rules, then who are you? [00:12:11] Speaker F: What am I if I can't have the thing that I want the most? [00:12:17] Speaker D: I think sometimes you have to reconsider what it is you want the most and consider if it's actually what's best. [00:12:31] Speaker F: So you're saying what I want is best. [00:12:35] Speaker D: I mean, it's a little subjective at times, but sometimes what we want the most, what's gonna hurt us the most, and what is the thing we don't need? [00:12:51] Speaker F: Val, if I could bring back my family. Oh, what, what should I do? [00:13:03] Speaker D: Well, that would depend on. How abouts you're bringing them back? I mean, is it a way that they would want? Is it, like, a decision that they would want? Is it a life that they would want? [00:13:17] Speaker F: They don't know the life I live because they were taken away from their own. [00:13:22] Speaker D: But if they're brought back by a way not meant, what does it matter? [00:13:27] Speaker F: They'd be there. [00:13:28] Speaker D: Just because they're there doesn't mean that's what's best for them. So fear. What if you're taking them from something grand? What if. What if something goes wrong? What if they're not who they are anymore? [00:13:44] Speaker F: What if nothing can be worse than the fate that they suffered from, the fate I suffered. [00:13:53] Speaker D: I understand, safir. I do. And if there is a way to bring them back, that would be good. I will help you do that, Zafir. But if this is something not right, if it's something dangerous or evil, it's not gonna be what you want it to be, Zafir. It will be empty and hollow. [00:14:22] Speaker F: I wouldn't know until it was done. [00:14:25] Speaker D: And you might regret that for the rest of your life. [00:14:28] Speaker F: I already regret so much. [00:14:32] Speaker D: I can't understand what it is to have a family that you would do that for, but. [00:14:44] Speaker F: Well, I if you could bring back your mother, would you do it if it was within your realm of possibilities? [00:14:57] Speaker D: I I I don't know. I don't know, Zafir. I. What I would want? It's one of the things I want most in my life is to get time with her, to see her, ever. But I don't know what I would do for that. I don't know how far I would go for that, because I would be betraying so much that I hold sacred. But there's a large part of me that would want that. But I don't. I don't know what is going on. Zafir. [00:15:42] Speaker F: You may never know. He closes his eyes and he turns his back to you, and he starts to walk away. [00:15:48] Speaker D: Safir. And I'm gonna grab your shoulder. [00:15:54] Speaker F: He stops. [00:15:56] Speaker D: I don't want to just let you leave like this. On our own. This isn't. It doesn't feel right. [00:16:05] Speaker F: Val. I've been searching for something for as long as I've. For as long as I've been away from my family, whether it be to find who killed my family, to find a way to bring them back, which I didn't even know was a possibility, or to find something that could help me lead myself. And right now, I have two of those. Three. One more. There's nothing. [00:16:45] Speaker D: Zafir, if you learned of this here in this town, it makes me concerned. They were just telling me about troubles they've had with that creature. [00:16:57] Speaker F: I believe that whatever's happened here has been following me for a very, very long time. [00:17:06] Speaker D: Is it still here? Zafir? Did you see it? [00:17:09] Speaker F: I don't know if it's still here. [00:17:11] Speaker D: Is it? [00:17:12] Speaker F: I wouldn't know. [00:17:14] Speaker D: Did you? What did you talk to? What did you learn? Important, Sophia. [00:17:19] Speaker F: It's not important. [00:17:20] Speaker D: Yes, it is. A fear. You're important. And what's happening to you is important. You ask for advice and help, but I. There's only so much I can give without knowing what's going on. I mean, I have to make this. [00:17:36] Speaker F: Decision, and I needed a bit of an outside opinion. Someone who's not aware of all the details. And I think I have yours. [00:17:55] Speaker D: I suppose so. I don't want you to lose yourself here as a fear. [00:18:01] Speaker F: I may just find who I really am. He pushes your hand off his shoulder and starts to walk again towards his room. [00:18:13] Speaker D: I wish I could. [00:18:15] Speaker F: He holds his hand up and just continues walking. Good night, Val, and thank you. [00:18:25] Speaker D: Good night, Sophie. And she's going to go out the front door. Outside. [00:18:37] Speaker B: So we pick things back up the next morning once the group has reassembled, collected any refills of supplies they might need, food, water, things like that, back on their horses or on their pony. In the case of Cornelius and heading off into the grungir forest in the direction that Alward was able to gather from his communications with the villagers in a north northwest direction was the way that Yilva was most often seen heading off into the forest. [00:19:11] Speaker E: Just as a reminder to everyone, some things to keep in mind. The person that we're hunting down in this case actually is beloved by the people around us in the fae. I'm not really sure why. And she's also known to have a large beast with her. The jury still on what it is? Some say it's a very large badger, but most it's either a wolf or a deer. A stag? Yes. [00:19:39] Speaker A: Did they have a description of this lady? [00:19:42] Speaker E: Of the lady? No. My notes don't say anything about her. [00:19:48] Speaker D: I imagine she's like an Eritzen. [00:19:54] Speaker B: That's why I didn't put anything in the notes because I was like, yeah, she just looks like one of the Ayerson family. [00:19:59] Speaker D: Yeah, she's just, she's like the blind girl, but not blind. [00:20:02] Speaker F: Was she one of those that was there during the meeting? [00:20:05] Speaker B: Yes, she was, but she was not one that you actually saw because you guys never got into the room with them. You just overheard the conversation. [00:20:13] Speaker F: Okay. [00:20:14] Speaker B: Sven is looking at me very intensely. So I'm going to let you, Sven, know that the character that you are thinking of does not look like one of the Eretzens, okay? [00:20:26] Speaker F: Hmm. [00:20:28] Speaker E: But, yeah, it's either like a brindled wolf or like a dark furred stag. But like I said, some people say it's a giant badger. Others say it's a green scaled Drake. [00:20:39] Speaker C: So they have no idea what it is. [00:20:40] Speaker D: It shifts all the time. [00:20:42] Speaker C: Fun. [00:20:44] Speaker E: Also, we might run into the goblin market, which is fun. [00:20:48] Speaker C: The what? [00:20:49] Speaker E: The. Oh, you, oh, sorry. Um, so it's like a market where you, it's like the black market. You could, like, purchase just about anything. [00:20:57] Speaker F: Can you purchase goblins? [00:20:59] Speaker E: Probably. Please don't purchase goblins. [00:21:01] Speaker C: We're not into human trafficking here. [00:21:03] Speaker E: Was the goblin traffic like, oh, they're not humans. They're goblins. You could probably purchase. [00:21:09] Speaker D: No. People trafficking, please. [00:21:11] Speaker C: Yeah, no, no, no. [00:21:13] Speaker A: It is, if, if we come across this, this goblin trading, we will probably just need to be very careful. And I imagine anything that is in this forest, we'll have to be very of. In fact, I know for a fact that anything in this forest we will have to be very wary of. [00:21:33] Speaker D: Don't worry there. If we find those goblins, we'll just blend it. They won't even know we're there. [00:21:40] Speaker F: I wasn't planning on purchasing a goblin, by the way. Just. [00:21:43] Speaker D: She says that very confidently. [00:21:44] Speaker E: The only one who could blend into a goblin with the goblins is probably Zafia. [00:21:49] Speaker C: Yeah, that's. [00:21:51] Speaker A: Have you ever met? [00:21:52] Speaker F: Kind of mean. [00:21:53] Speaker E: It's just because you're the same size as them. [00:21:55] Speaker D: Zafia, I believe, say your mother's a goblin. [00:22:01] Speaker C: Are you okay? [00:22:02] Speaker E: I'm sorry, did you say something? [00:22:03] Speaker A: I look at our little flesh warp friend. [00:22:06] Speaker B: Cornelius notices you looking at him and nods in acknowledgement. [00:22:12] Speaker A: After the question I gave. [00:22:16] Speaker B: Oh. Cornelius was paying attention to the discussion of who was goblin sized. I didn't catch what you said. [00:22:21] Speaker A: I asked. I asked Val if she'd ever met a goblin. She said, I think so. [00:22:30] Speaker B: So Cornelius does nod, but it's unclear which conversation he thought you were asking him about. [00:22:36] Speaker D: You just looked at him, and he's just like, yes, yes, yes. Thanks. [00:22:43] Speaker B: As you're continuing on your journey, you pass by like a woodcutter's cottage that there are only a few chopped trees, and there are a lot of old growth still near the cottage, so it's very clear that there's very careful about which trees they cut. As you go a little bit further, you hear the sound of a river ahead of you. And. Let's see. Would everybody go ahead and make me a perception check? [00:23:15] Speaker A: Ah, yes. River. Sound. River. River. River. [00:23:24] Speaker E: River. [00:23:25] Speaker C: Just insert a bunch of whiteness noise. [00:23:28] Speaker F: Oh, that's just us on the mic. [00:23:30] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:23:32] Speaker D: 1816 1720. [00:23:37] Speaker C: 319. [00:23:39] Speaker A: I got a rock. [00:23:42] Speaker B: So, alward, you're the only one who hears, like, the creaking of wood over the sound of the river, but everyone hears a muffled up ahead. [00:23:57] Speaker F: I bet that's a goblin. [00:23:59] Speaker D: No, maybe that sounds like someone who might be in trouble. [00:24:03] Speaker E: Probably that. [00:24:05] Speaker D: I'll go check it out. Val's gonna move ahead. [00:24:08] Speaker E: Um, okay. [00:24:11] Speaker C: I'm gonna go with Belle. [00:24:11] Speaker A: It sounds like somebody is tied up. [00:24:14] Speaker B: Or as you begin to move in closer, you come around a bend, and the trees are now thin enough between you and your destination that you can see the river. It's a moderately sized river. You know, it's not something that you'd send a ship down, but you could probably take a small boat down the river. There is a sizable mill placed alongside the river that's currently turning along with the force of the water, and not far from the mill wheel is approximately a ten foot tall, dark furred creature who is currently stuffing someone into its mouth. [00:24:52] Speaker F: Oh, hi. Hi. [00:24:55] Speaker B: I would like you all to roll for initiative. [00:24:58] Speaker C: Gosh darn it. [00:24:59] Speaker F: Now do you need help? [00:25:01] Speaker D: You put that thing down. [00:25:03] Speaker C: Put that thing back where it came from. [00:25:05] Speaker A: Also, help me. Oh, look, it looks like a monkey. [00:25:09] Speaker C: Oh, look, guys, we're going to fight. I love it. [00:25:12] Speaker A: Better fight a monkey. [00:25:13] Speaker C: It's a gorilla. [00:25:14] Speaker F: I just rolled the same thing I rolled before. [00:25:16] Speaker A: Uwe, 27. [00:25:19] Speaker C: Neros, 23. [00:25:22] Speaker D: Val 23. Whoa. [00:25:26] Speaker C: What's your initiative bonus? [00:25:28] Speaker D: Nine. [00:25:28] Speaker C: So is mine. [00:25:29] Speaker D: I mean, we can just choose who goes first. [00:25:31] Speaker C: You can go first. I don't want to go first. [00:25:33] Speaker D: Julio. Julio. [00:25:34] Speaker E: Albert, 30. [00:25:36] Speaker C: Oh, Albert's going to do the thing. [00:25:38] Speaker A: There we go. [00:25:40] Speaker B: And Zafir, 17. [00:25:42] Speaker D: Oh, he's distracted. [00:25:47] Speaker A: That person getting stuffed in his mouth is about the same size as me. [00:25:51] Speaker B: All right, so we will begin then, with Alward. [00:25:55] Speaker E: So I'm gonna say Alwards turn happens just before Val shouts at the thing. And I would like to first recall knowledge on this beast. [00:26:10] Speaker B: Alright, good. [00:26:11] Speaker C: First action. [00:26:12] Speaker B: Do you have a lore skill that you feel would be appropriate? [00:26:17] Speaker E: Jordy? [00:26:18] Speaker B: This creature doesn't seem like much of an accountant. [00:26:20] Speaker E: Okay, then. No. [00:26:24] Speaker B: What is your nature bonus? [00:26:26] Speaker E: Oh, it's nature. What else would it be? I thought it was gonna be like a troll. That would've been society. [00:26:33] Speaker C: It's fertile. [00:26:34] Speaker E: Fight me, Sven. [00:26:36] Speaker A: No. Fighting a gorilla. [00:26:39] Speaker E: My nature is plus eleven. I'm trained in it. [00:26:42] Speaker B: All right. [00:26:44] Speaker C: Dire gorilla. [00:26:46] Speaker D: Dorita. [00:26:47] Speaker A: It's hungry. It's what it is. [00:26:48] Speaker C: Hungry, hungry gorilla. [00:26:49] Speaker B: All right, with apologies to Norway, because I'm going to mispronounce this. This creature is a kvarchner. [00:26:56] Speaker C: Oh. [00:26:56] Speaker E: What? [00:26:57] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. [00:27:00] Speaker C: What? [00:27:01] Speaker D: How do you spell that? [00:27:02] Speaker B: Kamea. V e r n k n u. [00:27:07] Speaker C: R r. Can you spell that for those of us that got distracted? [00:27:11] Speaker B: Yeah. K v e r n. K n u r r. Yeah, that's a. I. [00:27:22] Speaker A: Can'T pronounce that without actually german. [00:27:25] Speaker E: I don't. Maybe the middle k is silent. [00:27:28] Speaker A: As a. As a norwegian blooded person, I am ashamed. [00:27:34] Speaker B: How would you know that? These creatures are typically level five. Although this one seems a little bit tougher than usual. It definitely stands taller than your average kirchner. Most of the people in the south, when they talk about them, call them by their more common name of the mill growler. You know that these things are river creatures, and they do not appreciate attempts to industrialize in their territory. Legends say that they can swallow mill wheels whole. [00:28:06] Speaker E: That's terrifying. [00:28:07] Speaker B: You get one question. [00:28:10] Speaker D: Why? [00:28:11] Speaker E: I need to know its strongest save. [00:28:16] Speaker B: Its strongest save is fortitude. [00:28:19] Speaker E: Okay, do I buff you guys or do I do so something else? I'm gonna regret this. And I can already feel it. But go ahead, Jordi, and make me a whip safe. [00:28:30] Speaker B: All right. What's the DC? [00:28:32] Speaker E: The DC is 22. [00:28:35] Speaker B: Regular fail. [00:28:36] Speaker E: I don't regret things. [00:28:41] Speaker C: That's good. [00:28:42] Speaker E: Okay, so, regular fail. The creature. So bait. What I did is I beheld the weave, and I'll explain that here in a second. The target must commit a single action that it will take at some point during its next turn, stride toward the named character. Cast, shield, strike, for examples. The action is now locked in, and the creature must attempt it, even if the situation has changed, if that creature is entirely unable to fulfill this action if committed. For instance, if it only had one action left and the named creature was out of range, it loses that action. In addition to this, since it was a failure, it must commit at least two of its actions on its turn. All of these actions are similarly locked and cannot be changed, but the creature can take them in any order. [00:29:30] Speaker B: So if I'm gonna. If I'm understanding correctly, to summarize, I have to tell you two actions. This creature is planning to take on his turn, and either must do those actions or lose them if something changes. And it can't do those. [00:29:42] Speaker E: Correct? [00:29:43] Speaker B: Because our seeing the future. [00:29:45] Speaker E: Yes. [00:29:46] Speaker B: All right. This creature plans to swallow this guy whole, and then begin wading out further into the river. [00:29:55] Speaker E: Okay, so what this looks like is sort of a golden light shoots down from Alord's hand onto the ground, and then immediately directs itself toward the creature. And then Alord basically tells everyone else, we have to get it to stop eating that person, and then it's going to try to go further down the river. And then I also relate to you what this creature is, and that will be my turn. [00:30:18] Speaker B: All right. Uwehr. [00:30:20] Speaker A: Well, I was trying to plan what I was going to do, but that kind of changes things. [00:30:26] Speaker F: Knowing plans. Change your plans. [00:30:28] Speaker E: You're welcome. [00:30:29] Speaker A: I want this to make a will save. [00:30:35] Speaker B: What's the DC? [00:30:37] Speaker A: DC will be 22. [00:30:40] Speaker B: I rolled the exact same thing on the die. So a regular failure. [00:30:43] Speaker A: Hey. Deja vu. [00:30:45] Speaker B: Oh. [00:30:47] Speaker A: I loop a thought process in the target's mind, forcing you to repeat the same actions over again. [00:30:56] Speaker D: What did it. [00:30:57] Speaker C: Yeah, what did it do? [00:30:58] Speaker F: Last turn. [00:31:00] Speaker B: So, if I remember correctly how deja vu works, you cast it, and then their next turn becomes their following turn. Right. So we now know that he must attempt to swallow this guy and move. Move downriver. And you have forced him to do that again. [00:31:15] Speaker A: I have. Wait, wait, wait. [00:31:17] Speaker E: So if he can't swallow him because he's already been swallowed, so he loses that action. [00:31:22] Speaker B: I think there's an additional effect, like, he gets so stupefied or something is he's confused. [00:31:26] Speaker A: The actions must be repeated in the same order and as close to the same specifics as possible. If the target can't repeat an action, it can act as it chooses for that action, but becomes stupefied one until the end of its turn. [00:31:40] Speaker E: Just shut this guy down. [00:31:44] Speaker B: All right, so that was two actions, that is. [00:31:47] Speaker A: And at that point, I will actually. [00:31:51] Speaker B: Cast shield, and it is now Val's turn. [00:31:56] Speaker D: Okay. Is this river something on my horse I could wade into? [00:32:02] Speaker B: The river is deep enough and fast enough that it will count as difficult terrain, but you can ride your horse into it just fine. [00:32:10] Speaker C: I forgot we're on horses. [00:32:11] Speaker D: I'd be able to go there and then jump there. [00:32:14] Speaker B: Yes. [00:32:16] Speaker D: Okay, so Val is going to go forward on her warhorse, up 40ft, within 10ft of the creature in the middle of the river. [00:32:28] Speaker B: Val, now that you've gotten a little bit closer and you're in that river, you can see that there used to be a footbridge just barely wide enough to take a wagon down, but it looks like something, presumably the kvirkner, has come through and just, like, ripped it up, and the rubble is just either floating downstream or pinned to the bottom of the river. [00:32:48] Speaker D: Okay, so as she gets there, she lets out a whistle and yells something in empyrean. And then Sigurd begins flying towards the creature. She's gonna. It has 60ft. She's gonna move to flank with me. [00:33:04] Speaker B: And since you guys were a little ways out from the river when you got here, that will take both of Sigrun's actions to get into position. [00:33:11] Speaker D: Ew. So it would then Sigrun will not move into flanking right now. Sigrun will move as far as Sigrun could move. [00:33:19] Speaker B: Okay, so Sigrun is adjacent to the k markner, but on the same side as Val. [00:33:26] Speaker D: Okay, so Sigeirn's gonna fly up and begin pecking at its eyes until the start of my next turn. Any strikes, my strikes that damage the creature, also deal a d four persistent damage, and it will dazzle the creature. [00:33:40] Speaker E: Nice. [00:33:43] Speaker D: So I'm going to then strike out with my glaive for my last action, and I'm gonna use a hero point because I rolled a three on the die. Okay, so 14 on the die, plus 1515. That is 29. [00:34:02] Speaker B: That's a hit. Awesome. [00:34:03] Speaker D: So it's gonna take because of sigurd pecking at its eyes as I stab forward, slice forward. It's gonna take a d four persistent bleed on top of this. [00:34:13] Speaker E: Nice. [00:34:14] Speaker D: Which is two d, eight damage, plus four, that's twelve total damage. All right, so Val jumped into the water, sigrun flew forward to peck the creature's eyes, and I slashed it with my glaive. Let go him, you monster. [00:34:30] Speaker B: Gotcha. And he's also dazzled now, right? [00:34:32] Speaker D: He is also dazzled now, all right. [00:34:34] Speaker A: And hopefully soon to be stupefied. [00:34:37] Speaker B: So you've given him. Well, hold on, how do I phrase that? You all now have concealment to him because he's dazzled. [00:34:45] Speaker D: Yes, it is dazzled until the bleed damage is removed. [00:34:50] Speaker B: Ooh, wow. All right, Neros, your turn. [00:34:55] Speaker C: What I want to do is a line attack and there's people in the way. [00:34:59] Speaker A: Well, you can. [00:35:01] Speaker C: No, I cannot do that. [00:35:03] Speaker D: Well, technically that. Would that guy be in the way of your line because he's in those creatures mouth? [00:35:07] Speaker C: I would think so, yes. [00:35:10] Speaker D: Yeah, he just hit his legs. [00:35:12] Speaker C: But I don't want to hit the innocent dude in the Kvirkner. [00:35:15] Speaker F: I mean, he's going to be swallowed now. [00:35:17] Speaker C: Hey, uh, no, it's been foretold. He doesn't need to be. [00:35:21] Speaker A: It's been foretold that he will be swallowed. [00:35:26] Speaker C: I would like to move up within 30ft, casting range of the kverner. And then I would like to just cast a cantrip called phase bolt. [00:35:43] Speaker A: Oh, nice. [00:35:47] Speaker C: 22. [00:35:49] Speaker B: Unfortunately, that will not hit. [00:35:50] Speaker E: What? [00:35:52] Speaker D: Why are you confused about that? [00:35:54] Speaker E: I'm not, I'm shocked. That was such a good rule. [00:35:58] Speaker C: Menacingly in the corner. [00:36:00] Speaker A: 22. [00:36:00] Speaker E: That's where the heroes. [00:36:06] Speaker A: And I'm the squishy one. [00:36:08] Speaker B: All right, so new Neros rides her horse up within 30ft. [00:36:11] Speaker C: I forgot I'm on a horse. [00:36:14] Speaker A: She's on a horse. [00:36:16] Speaker B: She rides her horse up within 30ft, looks down, realizes she's on a horse and casts a phase bolt, but it misses the kvirkner. [00:36:23] Speaker F: This is all because she discovered she was on a horse. [00:36:26] Speaker B: Zafir. [00:36:27] Speaker A: Wow. [00:36:28] Speaker D: Oh, wow. We all rolled higher than him. [00:36:29] Speaker F: So I am trying to re remember how spell strike works. [00:36:34] Speaker A: You choose a spell and you make an attack roll for two actions. Mm hmm. [00:36:39] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:36:40] Speaker F: Okay, okay. I think, I think I'm good. So after everything, after all that stuff happens, an arrow just whizzes by. The guy is in the troll's hand. [00:36:53] Speaker B: Right in the troll's mouth. He will not be providing any form. [00:36:56] Speaker F: Of COVID Okay, not intentionally. If I shoot him in the butt, I'm sorry, takes the guy out of. [00:37:04] Speaker C: His mouth and holds it up as a shield. [00:37:05] Speaker F: I assume he's going headfirst. [00:37:08] Speaker B: That's correct. [00:37:08] Speaker A: Don't roll on that one, so don't. [00:37:11] Speaker F: Mess this out of the way. Ooh, that's a really good roll. Does a 33 hit. [00:37:18] Speaker B: That is a hit. [00:37:21] Speaker C: I was hoping you're gonna say critical hit, but it's fine. [00:37:26] Speaker F: So. So it was ignite. Which. [00:37:30] Speaker A: Ignition. [00:37:31] Speaker F: Sorry. Which was four. D four, and then two of these two d six is here. So seven from my arrow, and then six fire damage. I rolled that separately. [00:37:45] Speaker E: What about the fire damage from the room? [00:37:47] Speaker B: Was that the flaming room? [00:37:48] Speaker E: Mm hmm. [00:37:49] Speaker F: I'm sorry. Six and then six for the spell. [00:37:52] Speaker B: Oh, so you got six on the flaming run, six from the fire spell again, or ignition, and then seven from the arrow? [00:37:58] Speaker A: Yes. [00:37:58] Speaker B: Okay. [00:37:59] Speaker A: Okay. [00:38:00] Speaker D: That's 19 points of damage for those. [00:38:02] Speaker F: Counting at home, I was trying to separate it between the fire damage and. [00:38:06] Speaker D: The arrow damage, which is a good thing to do. [00:38:10] Speaker B: And he takes it. [00:38:11] Speaker A: Ouch. [00:38:12] Speaker E: Good. [00:38:12] Speaker F: And then I recharge. [00:38:14] Speaker A: You recharge. [00:38:15] Speaker D: He looks at the sun. [00:38:17] Speaker F: I have a portable charger in my pocket. [00:38:20] Speaker C: Unfolds his solar panels. [00:38:22] Speaker F: I also get a nice pan real fast, guys. [00:38:25] Speaker E: And I know there's not much we could do in this situation, but we specifically did not do the one thing that we know, because he's going next. He's gonna eat that man. [00:38:36] Speaker D: Yep. [00:38:37] Speaker E: That man. Go and get eat. [00:38:38] Speaker A: We don't know what to do. [00:38:39] Speaker B: I couldn't stop. [00:38:40] Speaker C: I don't know what to do about it. I don't necessarily want to roll up there on my horse and just pull. [00:38:47] Speaker E: We have nothing we can do except for maybe. [00:38:50] Speaker F: Yeah, can I. Can I kind of take that back and say that I aimed at his nose so that he would potentially sneeze and, like. [00:38:59] Speaker D: Like. [00:39:02] Speaker F: He would get distracted and be. [00:39:04] Speaker E: Like, oh, this poor man going to. [00:39:07] Speaker F: Eat has a feet. [00:39:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So you take aim with this arrow, aiming for his nose in hopes of causing an explosive sneeze. Firkner sees the arrow coming and tries to, like, block it with his arm so it doesn't hit his nose, but it definitely makes a good hit. And as this flame cloaked arrow smacks into him and starts dealing that damage, he lowers his arm, and then, looking straight in your eyes, he swallows the man whole. [00:39:31] Speaker D: The legs go down with the bleeding. Wait, does that qualify as a melee attack? [00:39:36] Speaker B: It is not a melee attack. [00:39:38] Speaker D: Oh, then I'm not gonna use it. [00:39:40] Speaker B: Okay. [00:39:41] Speaker D: Jenkins made him commit to an actions. I couldn't try and distract him away. [00:39:45] Speaker E: Make him do nothing. [00:39:46] Speaker D: Yes, you did. [00:39:47] Speaker E: No. I cast the spell, and Geordi made him commit to the action. [00:39:51] Speaker B: So this committed Kvarchner swallows this guy whole, and then, as was foretold, begins wading out further into the river because of the magic messing with his mind, he just starts, like, walking past Val, deeper into the river. And now that he's on the opposite side of Val, further downstream, he lashes out with, like, a backhand of one of his long, hairy ape arms at. At Val. And, Val, what is your ac? [00:40:19] Speaker D: 23. [00:40:20] Speaker B: 23. That is an exact hit. [00:40:23] Speaker E: Ah. [00:40:29] Speaker A: Val, don't take damage. Stop. Don't be the tank. It'll be okay. [00:40:34] Speaker E: Please. [00:40:36] Speaker F: At least she's not on fire this time. [00:40:38] Speaker C: Narrow sneeze. [00:40:39] Speaker D: Wait, hold on. Sorry. My ac is 25. [00:40:41] Speaker B: Then he exactly misses. [00:40:43] Speaker A: Exactly misses. [00:40:45] Speaker F: Stop fishing for the ac, Jordi. [00:40:47] Speaker C: Geez. Yeah, Jordy. [00:40:50] Speaker B: So he swipes out with one of his ape arms, and you just kind of lean back on your horse, and it just whiffs in the air next to you. And now his turn ends. Would you like to roll the persistent damage? [00:41:00] Speaker D: Yeah, I'm using this d four that I really like. [00:41:05] Speaker B: It's one of the fancy non pier. [00:41:07] Speaker D: That is three piercing or three bleed damage. [00:41:13] Speaker B: All right, and would you like to roll the flat check to see if it ends? [00:41:18] Speaker D: It continues. [00:41:19] Speaker B: Oh, he's still dazzled. All right, Albert, it is your turn. [00:41:24] Speaker E: Or just gonna be like. I told them. I told them what to do. We did nothing. That poor man. [00:41:32] Speaker C: I don't know what you wanted us to do. [00:41:35] Speaker F: You're trying to save him, disarm me. [00:41:37] Speaker B: I don't know. [00:41:39] Speaker C: By decapitating it, you could have made the disarm check. [00:41:42] Speaker F: I did shoot it in the arm. [00:41:44] Speaker A: Essentially, what I was trying to do is just make it regurgitate him again, but I don't know if it will work. [00:41:49] Speaker D: Stop yelling about what you could have done and help me save that. [00:41:57] Speaker E: Upon hearing val say that, I'm gonna go ahead and unleash my psyche, just like, fine. [00:42:04] Speaker B: And is there anything that we should be aware of with Uva and Zafir being next to you when that happens? [00:42:10] Speaker E: No. That is a choice. [00:42:11] Speaker B: Okay. [00:42:13] Speaker D: That is a choice. [00:42:15] Speaker E: Good sir. I could violently unleash, which in a 20 foot radius around me causes a burst of damage. [00:42:23] Speaker C: And you're not gonna violently. [00:42:24] Speaker E: No, it's not gonna be violent. No. In every other combat when I could have done this, I didn't cast a spell beforehand. I sustained a spell. So it was always just like, okay, so whenever my psyche unleashes basically any loose gravel, pebbles, or anything around me start to lift up and become, like, different. Like either mathematical symbols or language symbols are sort of floating around him. [00:42:50] Speaker A: Sigma. [00:42:53] Speaker E: Basic math. I'm an accountant, and then I'm going to try and hit it with an amped telekinetic projectile. [00:43:06] Speaker F: So Zafir looks at those symbols and thinks, what do the numbers mean? [00:43:10] Speaker C: It's that meme. [00:43:11] Speaker F: What do I mean? [00:43:14] Speaker D: He also never learned basic arithmetic. [00:43:17] Speaker E: I rolled a 27. [00:43:20] Speaker B: That's a hit. [00:43:20] Speaker E: Yes. I need four more D sixes. Who wants to help me out? [00:43:26] Speaker A: I have an obsidian dice. [00:43:28] Speaker E: I do. [00:43:28] Speaker F: It's okay, I'm right here. [00:43:30] Speaker E: I want his obsidian dice. I want. It's fancy. Hold on. I want one from everybody. I'm going to take the fanciest dice from. From everybody. [00:43:38] Speaker D: Here's my holy day. [00:43:39] Speaker E: Thank you. [00:43:40] Speaker B: This is Jenkins ploy to improve his die collection. [00:43:43] Speaker E: Took the boringest one. [00:43:44] Speaker C: If you don't give me my die. [00:43:46] Speaker E: Back, that's a cool blue and black one from you. [00:43:48] Speaker F: Okay. That is the one I got from the ren faire. [00:43:55] Speaker D: It's a lot of fours. Only you can prevent four fires. [00:43:59] Speaker F: Is it fours damage. [00:44:01] Speaker A: Oh. [00:44:03] Speaker E: So first thing that he's gonna happen is he's gonna forcibly get pushed 10ft to the east. 5ft. 5ft. Sorry. [00:44:11] Speaker A: 5Ft to the east. [00:44:12] Speaker E: 5Ft to the east, everybody. And then he's going to take 31 points of damage. [00:44:18] Speaker A: Dag. [00:44:19] Speaker D: Nice. [00:44:20] Speaker C: How much? [00:44:21] Speaker E: 31. [00:44:23] Speaker B: And he is now bloodied. [00:44:24] Speaker C: Nice. [00:44:25] Speaker A: Hello. [00:44:26] Speaker C: Just blood trickling into the river. [00:44:30] Speaker E: Ask whose ever dice isn't yours down. I am going to guide the timeline for val, and we'll get to. We'll get to that when it's val's turn. [00:44:51] Speaker B: All right, that's rude. For now, it is uwehr's turn. [00:44:56] Speaker A: Um, uvair is going to also listen to val way back when. [00:45:02] Speaker E: Sorry. [00:45:03] Speaker A: Um, he is going to need to make another will save. [00:45:08] Speaker B: All right. And that was DC 22, right? This one's a regular success. [00:45:13] Speaker A: All right? Regular success works. He is getting hit by warriors regret. At the end of its next turn, the target takes one d eight damage per different creature. It intentionally damages on that turn. [00:45:28] Speaker D: Nice. [00:45:29] Speaker C: I love that spell. [00:45:30] Speaker A: I do, too. I wish it failed. [00:45:33] Speaker C: Right. [00:45:33] Speaker D: There's more. Consistent damage is always great. [00:45:36] Speaker E: I don't like that face. [00:45:37] Speaker C: What's that face, Jordy? [00:45:39] Speaker B: I was just double checking how bad his next turn was gonna be. [00:45:42] Speaker E: Don't worry. [00:45:43] Speaker D: Don't hold on his turns. Deja vu, right? [00:45:45] Speaker B: That's what I was checking. [00:45:48] Speaker A: That's why? I did. Warriors regret. Wait. [00:45:52] Speaker D: He's not gonna hurt anyone. [00:45:53] Speaker E: He has to attack you. [00:45:54] Speaker B: On his next turn, he's going to attempt to swallow the guy, fail to do so, and become stupefied. One, walk away from Val, and then attempt to hit Val, and he's out of reach of Val. And then he has one action he can use, but he's stupefied. This is gonna be two actions. Cause he's gonna try to swing at. [00:46:14] Speaker D: Val and K. Oh, those don't waste actions. [00:46:16] Speaker B: No. [00:46:17] Speaker D: Okay. [00:46:19] Speaker B: Okay, so warriors regret. [00:46:21] Speaker A: Yep. [00:46:21] Speaker B: Okay. And then you have one action left. [00:46:24] Speaker A: I will do a recall knowledge instead of shield this time. [00:46:27] Speaker B: Do you have a relevant lore? [00:46:29] Speaker A: I do have. [00:46:35] Speaker C: I don't know that lore. Can you explain it? [00:46:38] Speaker D: 15. [00:46:39] Speaker A: I don't know if one terrain would count. As in this area would count for. [00:46:42] Speaker B: That wasn't your terrain, forest. [00:46:45] Speaker A: Yeah, it was, actually. [00:46:46] Speaker B: Okay, what's your bonus? [00:46:47] Speaker A: Twelve. [00:46:49] Speaker B: All right. And what do you want to know? [00:46:54] Speaker A: Special abilities, like healing. [00:46:58] Speaker B: He has regeneration that can only be stopped by fire damage. [00:47:02] Speaker E: Oh, good job, petite. [00:47:03] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:04] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:47:05] Speaker E: Wait, what? [00:47:05] Speaker F: What did I do? [00:47:06] Speaker E: You stopped its regeneration? [00:47:08] Speaker F: Heck yeah. [00:47:08] Speaker A: Four of us should know this already. Outside of gay, it's not a troll. [00:47:13] Speaker B: That is correct. It is not a troll. [00:47:14] Speaker E: I couldn't rule society on true. [00:47:19] Speaker A: We need to make sure that we hit it with fire damage next time it can regenerate other eyes. [00:47:24] Speaker E: Sofia did what? [00:47:25] Speaker A: That is good. That is good, but we need to hit it more. [00:47:28] Speaker F: Not to worry. [00:47:30] Speaker B: Val. [00:47:31] Speaker D: Me. She calls out again, and Sigurd's gonna move into flanking. And Sigurd's going to attack with her jaws. So she's gonna peck to her heart's content. Her jaws, aka her b 26. [00:47:51] Speaker B: That's a hit. [00:47:54] Speaker D: Nine points of damage. [00:47:57] Speaker A: Yay, birdie. [00:47:58] Speaker C: Go, Sigurd. [00:47:59] Speaker B: Who's a good little bird? [00:48:00] Speaker D: Has it technically damaged anyone yet? [00:48:03] Speaker B: No. Technically, no. [00:48:04] Speaker D: Okay, then I can't use that thing. [00:48:06] Speaker A: He swallowed the guy. [00:48:07] Speaker B: It hasn't taken any damage yet. [00:48:09] Speaker A: He hasn't taken any damage yet. [00:48:10] Speaker D: Was his turn. Didn't get a turn. [00:48:13] Speaker F: He doesn't get breaks out from inside. [00:48:16] Speaker D: All right, I'm striking out with my glaive for a 28. [00:48:20] Speaker B: That's a hit. [00:48:21] Speaker D: Oh, lovely. Do we know anything about how we would break this guy out? [00:48:28] Speaker B: So once something has been swallowed, the best way to remove them is to kill the creature and then not Wampa tauntaun them out. [00:48:38] Speaker F: Okay, wouldn't that be the opposite? [00:48:40] Speaker B: Yeah. That is reverse Tauntaun. [00:48:42] Speaker D: That is 17. That's 17. Slashing damage. [00:48:46] Speaker B: All right, he is, shall we say, badly injured. [00:48:51] Speaker D: And then I'm gonna try one more time. [00:48:53] Speaker A: Poor guy. He's only been trying to defend his. [00:48:55] Speaker F: Territory in a really mean way. [00:48:59] Speaker C: He shouldn't have swallowed someone. [00:49:01] Speaker B: Life lesson rude. [00:49:05] Speaker D: 25. [00:49:06] Speaker B: That's a hit. [00:49:10] Speaker D: Eleven slashing, I hope. [00:49:13] Speaker A: I want him to survive until his turn. Just because I want to see what happens on his turn. [00:49:17] Speaker C: I don't. [00:49:19] Speaker D: And that is the end of Val. In Sigrun's turn, they've slashed out multiple times. A lot of damage. [00:49:26] Speaker B: Yes. He is on his last legs, near us. [00:49:30] Speaker C: I actually know what I'm gonna do. I know it's a change. I'm sorry. Thank you, Sam. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Um, I. Oh, my, oh, my. So many golf clubs. I feel so honored. Thank you. Okay, okay, enough. Enough. I would like to cast a ten fart burst. [00:50:00] Speaker A: Ten fart burst. [00:50:01] Speaker C: That does not include valor. Singer. Somehow. [00:50:06] Speaker B: Easily enough. [00:50:07] Speaker C: Okay, I need a fortitude. Save my friend. [00:50:11] Speaker F: Oh, you know your friend. [00:50:15] Speaker B: What's your DC 22? That's a critical success. [00:50:20] Speaker C: Okay. Nothing happens. Thank you for ruining my joy. [00:50:24] Speaker A: It was a shot. [00:50:25] Speaker C: It was a shot in the dark. [00:50:27] Speaker D: Not a bad shot. [00:50:28] Speaker C: Nah. Would it be worth it to recall knowledge again, or. [00:50:32] Speaker D: No, I mean, wouldn't hurt. [00:50:35] Speaker E: Yeah. Worse that happened. Like, if we ever fight one again, then we would know more info about it. [00:50:40] Speaker C: Okay, sure. I'll recall all the knowledge. [00:50:44] Speaker B: All right. Do you have a relevant lore? [00:50:46] Speaker C: I have gossip lore and underworld lore. [00:50:50] Speaker B: Gossip lore is relevant. [00:50:51] Speaker C: Yay. [00:50:52] Speaker B: It's one of those you can recall knowledge about anything lores. [00:50:55] Speaker C: Oh, so is it, like, bardic in that regard? [00:50:58] Speaker B: What is your bonus? [00:50:59] Speaker C: Uh, yeah. Ten. [00:51:03] Speaker B: All right, what do you want to know? [00:51:04] Speaker C: What do I want to know? What do we not know? [00:51:08] Speaker E: We know. Better question, strongest save. We know it's a special ability, so maybe weakness. [00:51:14] Speaker C: Yeah, weaknesses. [00:51:16] Speaker B: It is weak to silver. [00:51:21] Speaker D: That makes sense. [00:51:22] Speaker B: Something you overheard while chatting with people in town. [00:51:25] Speaker C: Okay. [00:51:26] Speaker E: I mean, if it's a fae, that would make sense. [00:51:28] Speaker D: Also, they don't like Danishes. [00:51:30] Speaker E: They don't like danish people. [00:51:32] Speaker F: Are we in the grungear forest yet? [00:51:34] Speaker B: Yes, you're on the very outskirts of the grungy forest, Sam. They don't like Danishes, but they do have a weakness for donuts. Oh, they look like water wheels. [00:51:43] Speaker F: That's a free one. [00:51:45] Speaker C: That's fair. Anyone got any donuts? [00:51:48] Speaker E: Why? [00:51:52] Speaker F: I can pull tools out of my cape. Can I pull donuts out of my. Out of my shroud? Shadow. Donuts. Shadow. [00:52:01] Speaker B: Sure. [00:52:02] Speaker F: No, it's not a tool. [00:52:05] Speaker E: Maybe it's a secret tool that use. [00:52:08] Speaker F: Later in the Mickey Mouse clubhouse, a realm of possibilities. Another arrow whizzes by. Just watch. I'm gonna roll. [00:52:17] Speaker E: What'd you get? [00:52:18] Speaker F: I rolled it. 18. Yeah. Does a 32 hit? [00:52:22] Speaker B: It does hit, but something special happens while it's hitting. You loose that arrow, and it starts flying to the Korkner. It turns and sees the arrow coming, and it opens its mouth and tries to swallow the arrow, but it, like, hits it in the back of its mouth and lands for full damage. What? [00:52:43] Speaker A: What? [00:52:44] Speaker C: Does this thing have brain cells? [00:52:46] Speaker F: Does it. [00:52:47] Speaker A: Wow. [00:52:47] Speaker E: I feel like it had a special ability, and Jordy just wanted to let us know about that. [00:52:53] Speaker F: I'm eating it. He's trying to eat it. [00:52:56] Speaker B: He used a reaction, and it didn't succeed. So since it's not going to matter at this point, it raises his armor class by four. And if that causes the attack to miss, he just harmlessly eats the projectile. [00:53:12] Speaker E: So, good. [00:53:13] Speaker D: That's interesting. [00:53:14] Speaker B: But he has to commit to using that before he knows the result. [00:53:17] Speaker E: Mmm. [00:53:17] Speaker D: There. [00:53:24] Speaker C: Sven only wants you to roll low because he wants to see the Kaverkner fade. [00:53:27] Speaker F: I know. I was thinking that he ate the arrow because he was just trying to eat the guy. [00:53:32] Speaker A: Again. [00:53:32] Speaker D: There's still a high chance the thing is gonna damage me on its turn, so I wouldn't mind it dying. [00:53:36] Speaker E: I desperately am on Sven's side with this. [00:53:38] Speaker F: Okay, so that is four damage from the arrow, eight damage from ignition, and four damage from the fire room. So I forgot the numbers that I just gave you. [00:53:53] Speaker D: Four, eight and four. [00:53:55] Speaker A: Yeah. 16. [00:53:57] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. And he is on his last leg, you would say red. [00:54:04] Speaker C: So that you guys know that just means that it's going to hit valve. [00:54:08] Speaker A: No. Nope, not yet. [00:54:09] Speaker E: Yeah, I don't think it can. [00:54:11] Speaker F: Yeah, it does have two extra. [00:54:12] Speaker D: It can actually. [00:54:14] Speaker B: And Zafir has an action remaining. [00:54:16] Speaker F: Recharge. [00:54:16] Speaker B: Okay. [00:54:17] Speaker A: Recharge. [00:54:18] Speaker B: All right. It is the Kvernkner's turn. The first thing it does is it, like, makes a weird, like, swallowing motion with its mouth and looks confused and then looks even more confused as it just starts walking away down the river. And then it walks back off the river again to get within reach of valve. [00:54:40] Speaker E: Oh, that's good. And it's stupefied. [00:54:42] Speaker B: Now it is stupid. [00:54:44] Speaker E: Which means it's willed save is lowered. [00:54:47] Speaker A: Yes. [00:54:47] Speaker B: Yes. [00:54:48] Speaker D: Will, charisma and with intelligence are all. [00:54:52] Speaker B: Lower for the remainder of its turn. [00:54:53] Speaker E: Yeah. Oh, yeah. [00:54:55] Speaker B: So if he was doing something with his mind. [00:54:57] Speaker E: Yeah. Which that's fine. [00:54:59] Speaker B: He mindfully reaches out and swipes at Val. [00:55:03] Speaker D: No, it's dazzled. [00:55:07] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Okay. He beats concealment and gets a 27 to hit. [00:55:14] Speaker D: Oh, that hits me. [00:55:16] Speaker B: All right, that's 15. Bludgeoning damage. [00:55:24] Speaker F: Minecraft. [00:55:26] Speaker B: And then the look of cloudness comes over, you know, comes off from his face, and he looks as clear minded and foolish as ever. Al word, it's your turn. [00:55:38] Speaker D: Hold on. It takes pleasure. Damage. [00:55:40] Speaker B: Oh yes. [00:55:41] Speaker D: Four. [00:55:42] Speaker B: Nice. And does it end? [00:55:46] Speaker D: No. [00:55:47] Speaker E: Warriors regret. [00:55:48] Speaker B: Yeah, cuz you try somebody. [00:55:50] Speaker E: Yeah. [00:55:51] Speaker B: Okay, and that was one d eight. [00:55:52] Speaker A: That is one d eight. Unless it. Unless the guy took damage too. [00:55:56] Speaker E: But it does. The spell say whenever it attacks or whenever it causes damage. [00:55:59] Speaker A: Causes damage. [00:56:00] Speaker B: It intentionally damaged. [00:56:02] Speaker E: Okay. [00:56:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:56:03] Speaker E: So two d eight. [00:56:05] Speaker D: I hope it dies. [00:56:06] Speaker E: That would be great. [00:56:07] Speaker D: I would love the bleed damage in this, the persistent death is always the best death. [00:56:13] Speaker B: Eight damage, that is exactly. [00:56:22] Speaker F: Dies a freak. [00:56:24] Speaker B: So he sweeps out, smacks Val with his fist, and then he just looks at his fist, and a look of peace comes over his face. [00:56:33] Speaker D: He's looking at the fist, and blood is pouring out of his eye. [00:56:38] Speaker A: Mixed with tears. [00:56:40] Speaker B: He drops to his knees and collapses in the river. [00:56:46] Speaker C: Nice, Val. [00:56:46] Speaker E: Val, cut the guy out. [00:56:49] Speaker D: I guess that's the best way to get him out, isn't it? [00:56:52] Speaker E: Unless you want to go mouth first. [00:56:53] Speaker D: I'm going to pull him on, so I'm going to push him just a little bit onto the little violent bit. He's next to whatever you want to call that, right there. And then I guess with my glaive, I'm gonna kind of just cut open the gut and I'm yelling, I'm like, be careful. [00:57:11] Speaker B: And as you're cutting, you get a little bit closer, and then there's like a little chink clink noise, and then the whole thing gives way and the guy just comes sliding out, dagger first into the river. [00:57:25] Speaker D: I'm gonna grab him out of the, out of the water. [00:57:30] Speaker B: Oh, thank God you got me. Oh, I thought I was a goner. [00:57:36] Speaker D: I was worried there as well. Are you alright? [00:57:40] Speaker B: Oh, I'm fine now. Oh, but that was a big bugger there. [00:57:45] Speaker D: Yeah, it's pretty big here. I'm gonna walk him to the east side of the river, opposite of where we came, towards this windmill place. [00:57:54] Speaker B: Oh. Oh, thank you. Oh, surely the gods were smiling on me that you came across right when you did. [00:58:01] Speaker D: Yes, um, it was a great favor. Um, what, what, um, what happened? Why did this thing, you know, just happen often? [00:58:11] Speaker B: Oh, well, it happens around these parts sometimes. The mill growlers come up and they start harassing the people. And usually I'm able to put a stop to that sort of thing. But this one was right big chap, and he rather got the best of me. [00:58:26] Speaker D: Uvair, doesn't this thing not often come over to these areas? [00:58:30] Speaker A: Uwe? [00:58:30] Speaker B: You'd be aware that Kvernkner aren't exactly the most common of creatures, but they are more easily found here around the gringeer forest due to its connection with the first realm. [00:58:42] Speaker A: These creatures are. Are. Yes. Normally it would take quite a bit to run into one of these creatures, but around these parts, I'm not too terribly surprised. I'm more surprised that you come across multiple at a time and that you've. Well, considering the outcome of this one, have survived so long, you must be. [00:59:03] Speaker C: Tougher than you look. [00:59:05] Speaker B: Sorry, I swallowed too much of the insides there. [00:59:10] Speaker E: Gross. [00:59:12] Speaker A: You must be tougher than you look. [00:59:14] Speaker B: Oh yeah. [00:59:15] Speaker A: At least as the situation would. [00:59:17] Speaker B: Yeah, I come across more than a few in my line of work. I am a professional monster hunter, although I typically try to keep to the smaller ones. This one was already a wee bit of a stretch for me until I saw how big it was and I knew I had bitten off more than I could chew. [00:59:34] Speaker A: Pardoned upon at this point. It is funny, but do you not try to work in a team or. [00:59:43] Speaker B: Oh well, not all of us are as lucky to find as many people willing to risk their lives monster fighting as you and your friends. [00:59:50] Speaker A: Indeed, that is true. Does that mean that the owner of this place is nearby, or has he. [00:59:57] Speaker B: Been aways in town? I told them to stay out of the way until I came back, just in case things went a bit south. [01:00:05] Speaker A: I am glad that we are able to come and help you then. [01:00:08] Speaker B: Right, right. I'm glad you all had the proper weaponry and such to take on the fae. [01:00:14] Speaker F: Was that thing a fae? [01:00:16] Speaker B: Oh, of course it was. Comer, they called him. And he starts kind of poking at him with his dagger. Best sort of thing to take these on is cold iron. And he holds up his dagger. [01:00:27] Speaker E: Just look at that point. Alright, we don't have any of that. And I'm just gonna start prestidigitationing his clothes clean. [01:00:36] Speaker B: He doesn't even seem to notice the prestidigitation as he like, turns around and starts like rummaging in the grass. And he's like, what a strange coming out here all the way. Here, take this. And he turns back around holding a spear. [01:00:50] Speaker E: That's it. Gonna grab it with my man was. [01:00:52] Speaker A: That spear there the whole time? [01:00:55] Speaker B: It looks like he may have dropped it when he was grabbed. Ah, this is me backup spear. Only use it for the big hunts like this. And looks like you folks could handle yourselves better if you had one of these around. Most of the fae, they hate this stuff. The cold iron burns them something fierce whenever they come into contact with it. Lots of creatures, they even, they can regenerate their health. And it stops it when you stick them with one of these. [01:01:20] Speaker A: I understand that it. I believe fire was this one as well. [01:01:25] Speaker B: Oh, no, that's an old wives tale. [01:01:27] Speaker A: I failed. I wondered. Uber is gonna look over at Val and say, I wasn't, I wasn't aware that your glaive was cold iron. [01:01:41] Speaker D: To be honest, I don't really know what it's. I don't know what exactly what it's made of. It's seems special, magical thing. [01:01:51] Speaker E: Can I make a crafting check? [01:01:54] Speaker B: Sure. [01:01:54] Speaker D: Could I as well? I guess. [01:01:56] Speaker C: Can I jump in the river and start playing in it? [01:01:58] Speaker B: Sure. [01:01:59] Speaker E: Yay. [01:02:00] Speaker A: I'm gonna make a crafting check on that. [01:02:01] Speaker E: You know what? Because if Jordy's okay with this, because I fully forgot about the thing and I guided your timeline, you can use it now. It does say skill check. [01:02:10] Speaker D: What is it? [01:02:11] Speaker E: It just gives you the fortune effect. Oh, is that okay, Jordy? [01:02:14] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:02:15] Speaker D: 21 20 718. Assuming crafting is the only check I can make on this. [01:02:20] Speaker B: Okay, so you all rolled high enough to know that it is well crafted, but it is steel. It is not a cold iron glaive. [01:02:29] Speaker D: Awesome. So learning that the glaive is a normal steel weapon, like she is kind of assumed, except she's like, it's a very blessed weapon, by my God. So I'm not so surprised it could hurt creatures like that. She's gonna kinda remove herself from the conversation and head towards neros in the river. [01:02:48] Speaker F: So I wanted to let everybody know that as long as you've seen me this morning, I have been very focused and my eyes have been red the entire time. [01:03:01] Speaker A: Aren't your eyes red usually? [01:03:02] Speaker F: No, they're usually like a silvery grayish silver. [01:03:06] Speaker D: Eager. [01:03:06] Speaker F: Yeah, but they are blood red. And they've just been consistently since we're. [01:03:12] Speaker D: Saying things we're supposed to say before this combat. Val also looks very, like, dirty and not taken care of. Tonight. [01:03:21] Speaker E: Today. [01:03:22] Speaker C: Tonight, today. [01:03:23] Speaker D: Like, she's covered in dirt and she was a little wet before we got to this river and after, and she's very, like, she's pretty tired. It wasn't until like that adrenaline rush that she's, like, moving. But, yeah. Anyway, I wanted to say that, too, but then it didn't. There was. It didn't feel like there was a moment to bring it up because we jumped right to the travel. [01:03:52] Speaker A: Yes. We would have brought that up, but. [01:03:53] Speaker D: Oh, well, I didn't want to interrupt. [01:03:56] Speaker E: After I'm done, press the. This man. [01:04:00] Speaker A: Prestidigitating. [01:04:02] Speaker E: Prestidigitating. This man. Yes. [01:04:06] Speaker C: Prestidigitating. I like it. [01:04:08] Speaker E: I'm going to try to figure out if this is any. Just a spear with cold iron or just, like, a fancier spear or what's going on with it. [01:04:15] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. Rolling over your crafting check from earlier. It is just. It's a regular spear, but it is made with cold iron. [01:04:23] Speaker E: I'm just gonna, like, put it on my back. Like, I don't know what to do with this. [01:04:27] Speaker D: So while you're looking into that man's spear, Val's kind of groggily heading over. The adrenaline's kind of coming down. She splashes some water in her face, and she looks at Neros and says, neros, I need to talk to you about something. [01:04:46] Speaker B: And that's where we'll end this episode. [01:04:48] Speaker E: Are we gonna have two closed openings in a row? [01:04:51] Speaker A: Maybe. [01:04:51] Speaker E: Closed. [01:04:52] Speaker F: Open. [01:04:53] Speaker B: So, Sven, you have gotten the hero point for this episode, for your combat control spells and taking advantage of the situation. Close, close. Second was Jenkins, but we had to even it out and go with Sven. [01:05:10] Speaker A: I'll take one for the team. Thank you. [01:05:14] Speaker E: I was wrong. [01:05:17] Speaker A: Oh, well, thank you very much for this hero point. Hopefully that was amusing for everyone because I certainly got a good laugh out of it. I think I'm gonna go show Jenkins, Bobby, and the princess and the papa. [01:05:34] Speaker C: I'll come to that party. [01:05:39] Speaker B: And we'll see you all in the next episode. [01:05:42] Speaker C: How could I refuse? [01:05:44] Speaker E: How could I refuse? That was a treat. Thank you. [01:05:48] Speaker B: This has been an atomic broadcasting production.
