[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part, such as, like, comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time.
[00:00:31] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off?
Ah, yes.
The party investigated the basement of an old house, seeking the source of the enchanted blizzard, forcing them within.
As they neared, Val made a sudden flaming dash to the source, a hideous old hag, setting her ablaze and alerting her to their presence.
[00:01:00] Speaker C: So I was thinking the other day, and this is really, honestly, just super weird for me, because as a man who does not have a lot of hair on his head, I spend a lot of time in the mirror doing my hair, which is weird, like I said, considering I don't have a lot of hair on the top of my head. And I was wondering, since we have a ranging set of people with hair here, I want to know how long it takes each of us to just prep our hair in the morning. And if you don't want to say it, that's fine. Five minutes, which is weird, considering how much hair you have.
[00:01:37] Speaker D: No, that makes sense for how much.
[00:01:39] Speaker C: Hair he has, but five minutes, I feel like that's a very infinitesimal amount of time.
[00:01:45] Speaker A: I mean, so all I do for work, since I am one of two people here with long hair.
[00:01:55] Speaker E: Jenkins looked around like, who else? And he looked at me like, oh, yeah.
[00:02:01] Speaker A: Isn't it obvious, you listeners at home, you can tell Abby, no. What I do with my hair is I have a natural part, so I brush it out so it's not as frizzy, and I just pull it back into a ponytail because I need to just keep it out of my way for work.
[00:02:21] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:02:21] Speaker E: It takes you five minutes.
[00:02:22] Speaker D: He has to brush it out.
[00:02:24] Speaker A: I put a little bit of water there because of the frizz and some. And some product.
Yeah.
[00:02:29] Speaker B: I mean, if we're not talking about, like, shampooing, like, washing and stuff. Like, last week, I took, like, two minutes to get my hair ready, and as of, like, today, I don't even do anything after I clean it.
[00:02:40] Speaker C: Well, it looks good.
[00:02:41] Speaker D: I'm concerned now. I take no time, on average, my hair, mainly because, as I've said before, I believe on the show, it doesn't. It doesn't care. It does what it wants all of the time.
[00:02:57] Speaker F: My hair is really thick. It doesn't get, like. It gets kind of long, but it's mostly just super thick. So it kind of is mal. It's kind of moldable, so it typically just kind of stays how it is.
So I don't really do much at all. I just. I'll comb through it just to get rid of tangles. But generally it kind of stays this general shape. It gets kind of crazy sometimes, but it kind of works because of how thick it is. It generally works out. The most I do is to my beard, where if it gets too long, my beard just sticks straight out and looks super patchy. So then I just put some balm on it if I need to.
[00:03:32] Speaker D: He no longer has a beard.
[00:03:33] Speaker C: We don't talk about that.
[00:03:34] Speaker E: Yeah, we don't talk about Sam's appearance.
[00:03:37] Speaker F: Stop asking me about.
[00:03:38] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, I'm sorry.
[00:03:40] Speaker D: I guess if we're talking about then, like, maybe a second, because I do have to, like, push it, like, move it forward. Otherwise, it's just, like, spread.
[00:03:47] Speaker F: I've never done much to my hair.
[00:03:49] Speaker C: So for my research and, Abby, I'll let you get to. If you want. If you want.
[00:03:53] Speaker E: No, that's fine. What's your research?
[00:03:57] Speaker C: Okay, I'll let you say it now.
[00:03:58] Speaker E: Tell you my research.
[00:03:59] Speaker C: Well, I mean, it did involve mostly just guys, but it seems to me at this moment that guys with longer hair tend to spend less time than guys with shorter hair.
That's what my research has been showing me.
[00:04:16] Speaker E: Okay.
[00:04:17] Speaker F: You have the shortest hair and you spend the most time on your hair.
[00:04:21] Speaker D: Exactly. Are we the only sample?
[00:04:24] Speaker C: For now, yeah. I don't have any other friends.
[00:04:26] Speaker D: Because Sven immediately contradicts.
[00:04:30] Speaker C: Well, no, he said it wasn't very long.
[00:04:32] Speaker D: Well, I mean, five minutes.
[00:04:34] Speaker C: Abby, what about you? If you want to answer, like, 10 seconds. 10 seconds?
[00:04:39] Speaker D: That's amazing.
[00:04:40] Speaker E: I brush through my hair. If I am annoyed with it, I'll, like, pull it up into a frickin weird bun thing. But other than that, I don't give a crap.
[00:04:51] Speaker A: I mean, your hair is more forgiving.
[00:04:52] Speaker E: If I'm going somewhere, I'll spend some more time. Like, if I'm going to an event, I'll spend some more time on it. But, like, day to day, like, 10.
[00:04:58] Speaker F: Seconds from day to day. Aren't you only going to spend much time on your hair if you, like, style it, if you braid it up into some stuff or whatnot, what else are you going to do with your hair every day that's going to take you, like, 30 minutes?
[00:05:12] Speaker C: Well, see what I'm thinking?
My hypothesis is that it takes people with shorter hair to do their hair because it tends to get way more wild before they do it.
[00:05:26] Speaker F: I mean, my hair gets really wild. And I can just. But I usually just.
[00:05:29] Speaker D: My hair.
[00:05:30] Speaker E: It depends on your hair texture, too.
[00:05:32] Speaker C: That's true, too.
[00:05:32] Speaker D: Like, my hair doesn't get wild until it's long.
[00:05:36] Speaker B: Speaking of people doing their hair in the morning, you are now all up against this seemingly womanish creature, although it looks like no human woman you've ever met. And as I had mentioned at the close of the last episode, her hair is all just standing on end, as if collected by static electricity. At the ends of her hands are these claw like fingernails she's wrapped in furs and robes that are now, like, singed from the flame from Val as she came darting into the room. Val, I believe you said it was two D six. Fire damage from your entrance.
[00:06:06] Speaker F: She needs to make a reflex save.
[00:06:08] Speaker B: All right, what's your dc?
[00:06:12] Speaker F: The item has a dc of 23.
[00:06:14] Speaker B: That's a fail.
[00:06:16] Speaker F: That is five fire damage.
[00:06:19] Speaker B: All right, now it's an issue to roll.
If anybody would like to use their deception checks, they may keep those deception rolls.
[00:06:27] Speaker E: I would like to keep my deception rolls all possible.
[00:06:31] Speaker F: Before the combat started. I need to recall knowledge.
Okay, that's fine.
[00:06:36] Speaker B: No, you dashed with reckless abandon.
[00:06:39] Speaker D: I am very upset because I forego rolling initiative so I can do my special ability.
I rolled above an eleven, which means it works. I rolled one under. What it gives me. Anyway.
My initiative is 30.
[00:06:55] Speaker A: Mine, too.
[00:06:57] Speaker D: What'd you get?
[00:06:57] Speaker A: 19.
[00:06:58] Speaker D: I got an 18, but because of the thing. Yeah. Nice.
[00:07:01] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:07:01] Speaker F: Since everybody's rerolled, I got 27. I only ask. Cause if I know for sure it's a hag. I don't know if I'm able to just know for sure it's a hag, then I'll attack it. But on my turn, I don't think.
[00:07:12] Speaker B: Val would be worried that this is a person.
[00:07:14] Speaker F: Okay. I have no sympathy towards hags. I will kill a hag the same way I'll kill an undead, run into.
[00:07:21] Speaker C: A basement, burn her, and say, you are not a person.
[00:07:25] Speaker B: Sick. Burn.
[00:07:26] Speaker A: Vicious Mocri.
That's not a thing.
[00:07:29] Speaker D: Flaming retort? Is that what it's called?
[00:07:32] Speaker B: Between Jenkins and Sven? You guys both rolled a 30. How are you breaking that tie?
[00:07:36] Speaker A: He is. He. Three decks.
[00:07:37] Speaker B: So then with Val, beginning with that flame charge, then we'll immediately begin our initiative on Alward.
[00:07:44] Speaker A: Hmm.
[00:07:46] Speaker D: And we could see her now? Cause all the boxes are broken.
[00:07:48] Speaker B: Yes. The crates that were forming this barricade that she was hiding behind have been smashed and are just kind of smoldering, flickering in the darkness.
[00:07:56] Speaker D: Hmm.
I'm going to sustain my unseen servant and have him move above the hag.
[00:08:06] Speaker B: Okay. Blocking any movement towards the party with this invisible servant.
[00:08:11] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:08:11] Speaker F: What, does your unseen servant get? Flanking?
[00:08:13] Speaker D: No. It cannot attack and is therefore not a threat.
[00:08:18] Speaker F: Okay. It's just there next to her.
[00:08:20] Speaker D: Yeah. It can interrupt movement and such like. I've been using it. And then what I'm going to do is do a recall knowledge check on the hag.
[00:08:30] Speaker B: All right?
[00:08:31] Speaker F: Allegedly.
[00:08:32] Speaker D: Alleged. My alleged.
[00:08:34] Speaker A: Alleged.
[00:08:35] Speaker E: Sure seems like a hag.
[00:08:37] Speaker B: It'll be a secret check.
[00:08:39] Speaker D: Oh.
[00:08:39] Speaker B: Do you have an applicable lore that you would like to use?
[00:08:42] Speaker D: I have a counting lore.
[00:08:44] Speaker B: All right. Then it'll be society.
[00:08:46] Speaker F: It's an accounting plan.
[00:08:48] Speaker A: You're gonna count those bones?
[00:08:49] Speaker D: I'm gonna count them bones plus 15 success.
[00:08:53] Speaker B: You know that this is a level six storm, haggard. It is a hack, as you suspected.
[00:09:00] Speaker F: Noise.
[00:09:01] Speaker B: What would you like to know about it?
[00:09:03] Speaker A: Very haggish.
[00:09:05] Speaker D: Do we want to know saves or weak or immunities or resistances?
[00:09:11] Speaker E: I'm good with whatever anyone wants, but I would personally like weak is safe.
[00:09:16] Speaker D: Okay, let's go ahead and do weak.
[00:09:18] Speaker B: A safe reflex.
[00:09:21] Speaker A: That makes total sense.
[00:09:23] Speaker D: Yep. Okay. And I'm assuming Will's the strongest, which would suck. Yep.
[00:09:29] Speaker E: For me.
[00:09:30] Speaker D: Then I'm going to reach out, and out of my hand comes this, like, shimmering light that on the floor, traces a path to Val. And Val. What you see?
Well, we'll. I'll wait for her turn to explain what she sees.
[00:09:50] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:09:51] Speaker D: And that is my turn.
[00:09:53] Speaker A: U ver over, is going to see the hag, see where Val is and what Val is doing. And after he hears the fact that she's a storm hag, he's. His eyes just gonna light up a little bit and says, ah, storms. This should look familiar. It's not what you think.
As suddenly, from behind her, directly behind her, the stuff, you just see it slowly swirling as things just start picking up, almost as if there's wind, but there's no wind. As he casts animated assault directly, actually, right in front.
[00:10:35] Speaker B: I'm having trouble parsing in front.
[00:10:37] Speaker D: Oh, you doing my unseen servant.
[00:10:39] Speaker A: I'm sorry, I don't see where your unseen servant is. I'm just putting it there.
[00:10:43] Speaker D: But why aren't you putting it on the hag?
[00:10:46] Speaker A: Their reason being is that she would have to go through it, and it's a ten foot emanation, so she would have to come towards us. Yeah, if she was going to.
[00:10:54] Speaker D: Right. But you could just get that damage now.
[00:10:57] Speaker A: It's still gonna hit her. It's a ten foot wait.
[00:11:00] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:11:01] Speaker A: Burst.
[00:11:02] Speaker B: Yeah, ten foot bursts start from a corner.
[00:11:04] Speaker A: I didn't know that.
[00:11:06] Speaker B: So, like, you could do that. Yeah, and it would fill the hallway, but. But it wouldn't hit Val and it would hit the hag.
[00:11:12] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what I was going for.
[00:11:14] Speaker D: If I remember right. That's a reflex.
[00:11:16] Speaker A: It is a reflex. What's your DC 22?
[00:11:21] Speaker B: Regular success.
[00:11:22] Speaker A: Oofta.
[00:11:23] Speaker D: Regular success.
My unseen servant has a forward reflex for some reason.
[00:11:29] Speaker A: Okay, two d, ten. So have two d, ten.
[00:11:33] Speaker F: So I was all prepared using this gown last time, and then we ended the episode. I'm supposed to also make a strike at the end of my stride. And I never struck because we ended the episode with it.
[00:11:45] Speaker B: Let's.
[00:11:46] Speaker F: We just want to do it on my turn.
[00:11:47] Speaker B: Yeah, let's do it as a free strike. That doesn't count. Towards a map at the beginning.
[00:11:51] Speaker F: I just wanted to roll low.
[00:11:52] Speaker A: Three damage. Five and a one.
[00:11:54] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:11:55] Speaker D: It has resistance. Five to all damage.
[00:11:58] Speaker E: Your unseen server does.
[00:11:59] Speaker D: Okay, so he's fine.
[00:12:00] Speaker A: Good. I still have an action.
And with that action, I will cast shield.
[00:12:07] Speaker B: All right, Neros, it's your turn.
[00:12:09] Speaker E: I need to be closer.
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:12:12] Speaker D: Where?
[00:12:12] Speaker B: Neros. You're standing currently at just at the base of the stairs. You can see that the crates were smashed through, but you don't actually have line of sight to the hag at the moment.
[00:12:22] Speaker E: I would like to be within 30ft of both Val and the hag somehow.
[00:12:27] Speaker B: Yeah, if you ran to the front of the line in front of Alward, then you'd be within 30ft of both of them.
[00:12:32] Speaker E: Okay. And then that was just one action. Okay, with my last two actions, I'm gonna cast haste on Val.
[00:12:41] Speaker F: Ooh, Val.
[00:12:42] Speaker D: Val's getting all the buffs.
[00:12:43] Speaker F: I've been hastened.
[00:12:44] Speaker E: So, yep, you get an extra strike or stride, if you would like. And that is my turn.
[00:12:52] Speaker B: And it is Val's turn. So, Val, you can go ahead and get your free strike. That's not actually part of your turn. That was part of your charge in.
[00:12:59] Speaker F: Yes, my ash can.
Alright, with my glaive.
27.
[00:13:08] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:13:09] Speaker B: That's a hit.
[00:13:11] Speaker F: 13 slashing damage.
[00:13:14] Speaker B: Right?
[00:13:15] Speaker F: And then my turn proper starts. Trap. I should have actually been 5ft next to. I shouldn't have started this far away, but that's my own.
[00:13:24] Speaker D: You are hastened.
[00:13:25] Speaker F: I'm. Since I'm hastened, I can do this. I'm gonna take a step forward towards this creature, and the skull paint on my face grows stronger. If any of you are close enough, it starts smelling a bit like rotting flesh as I reach out and grab the hag, or attempt to grab the hag.
[00:13:46] Speaker D: Is this an attack roll?
[00:13:47] Speaker F: This is.
[00:13:47] Speaker D: All right. So as you go to do that, you see a faint, like, a very quick vision of one of them succeeding, and then another time of you failing. And the one that's succeeding looks to be, like, glowing brighter and more of your attention as you gain advantage on this, since I guided the timeline for you.
[00:14:07] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh.
[00:14:08] Speaker F: So she's reaching for this thing.
[00:14:09] Speaker D: She's like, oh, sorry. You get the fortune effect as I guide the timeline.
[00:14:14] Speaker E: That's really cool.
[00:14:15] Speaker F: Roll twice. Take that. So she's gonna look at this thing as she reaches out with the fleshy arm, and she says, your days of terrifying controlling these people are over. And she's gonna try to grab them.
Uh, 25.
[00:14:32] Speaker B: That's a hit.
[00:14:34] Speaker F: Awesome. She's gonna. So I use withering grasp, and I'm gonna do three d twelve, I believe.
[00:14:42] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh.
[00:14:43] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:14:44] Speaker B: Wow.
[00:14:44] Speaker F: Three d twelve damage, plus one d four.
[00:14:48] Speaker D: I'm glad I gave you the fortune.
[00:14:50] Speaker F: Plus some persistent damage, but hold on.
[00:14:52] Speaker D: Where did you get this coy smile?
[00:15:00] Speaker F: That's 15 negative damage. So let's see. It says the damage increases by one for persistent. Does it just mean, like, it'll become one d four? One. One d four two.
[00:15:11] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:15:12] Speaker F: Okay. Yeah. So that 15 negative damage, it will take one d four plus two persistent negative damage.
[00:15:20] Speaker B: All right.
[00:15:21] Speaker D: You moved into the animated assault?
[00:15:23] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:15:24] Speaker F: What do I need to do?
[00:15:26] Speaker D: Reflex save.
[00:15:26] Speaker F: Reflex save?
[00:15:27] Speaker B: Not yet.
[00:15:28] Speaker D: Oh.
[00:15:28] Speaker B: When you sustain it, it triggers. So if you're still there at the beginning of Uwe's turn and he doesn't drop the spell, it'll hit you too.
[00:15:35] Speaker F: That's okay. Apparently, that spell does not have the attack trait, so now I will attack with my glaive.
[00:15:40] Speaker A: If you went behind it, you wouldn't be in it.
[00:15:43] Speaker D: The cauldrons.
[00:15:45] Speaker F: Am I okay to move there?
[00:15:46] Speaker B: Yeah, you would have enough movement.
[00:15:47] Speaker F: Okay, I'll just move south. Okay. And then I'll slash with my glaive.
Thanks to the haste that. Oh, it actually got cocked.
[00:16:01] Speaker A: Oh.
[00:16:02] Speaker F: Natural 20.
[00:16:02] Speaker C: Oh, I got to do this.
[00:16:06] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:16:06] Speaker F: I'd never been happier. My dicocc.
[00:16:09] Speaker D: And this is a melee?
[00:16:10] Speaker F: Yeah. Slashing damage, if it's important.
[00:16:13] Speaker D: Okay, it is. So you're gonna really like this.
So this is slashing damage. Flat blade. Thwack. Triple damage.
You can deal bludgeoning damage instead of slashing if you want.
[00:16:28] Speaker F: I think I'm fine with slashing triple damage.
[00:16:31] Speaker D: Triple damage.
[00:16:32] Speaker E: Oh, my God.
[00:16:35] Speaker F: Really normal damage.
[00:16:37] Speaker E: Really glad I gave Val haste.
[00:16:38] Speaker F: Yes.
[00:16:39] Speaker C: Do I even get a turn?
[00:16:42] Speaker D: Maybe not.
[00:16:44] Speaker F: 30 slashing damage. Then I also have deadly. So let me also roll deadly.
[00:16:49] Speaker E: Oh, my God.
[00:16:50] Speaker F: With five. So 35 slashing damage.
And then I can move her 5ft to the diagonal up left. That's a good way to shove her right.
[00:17:01] Speaker A: Doesn't matter.
[00:17:02] Speaker F: Do you have a reference hour? Since you have your unseen servant there?
[00:17:04] Speaker D: He can't do anything until the round resets, so.
[00:17:07] Speaker F: Okay, well, it moves the creature further out of me, my space, so I'll move it that way.
[00:17:12] Speaker B: She pushed her one square further into the animated assault range.
[00:17:16] Speaker F: Can I throw her into the cauldron?
[00:17:19] Speaker D: That might just make the movement null and void.
[00:17:21] Speaker B: Yeah, I think the cauldron is large enough that it would stop her movement rather than force her into it.
[00:17:26] Speaker F: That's what I was wondering. Yeah. I'll move her up and to the left, closer to the party. But now she's in the middle of that field, and I believe that is my turn.
[00:17:35] Speaker E: That's a really good turn.
[00:17:38] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:17:38] Speaker F: Thanks, guys.
[00:17:39] Speaker E: It lasted five minutes, but it was a really good turn.
[00:17:42] Speaker F: Sorry.
[00:17:43] Speaker E: Hey, don't be sorry.
[00:17:45] Speaker B: And then it is the hag's turn. She is wounded and bleeding, and she looks at val, snarls, looks back to the rest of you all who have been coming down into the room single file. She will run up next to the crates, and she will reach out one of her clawed hands.
[00:18:04] Speaker E: No, no, no.
[00:18:05] Speaker B: And a jolt of electric energy just shoots across the entire line of you. I'm going to need reflexes.
[00:18:13] Speaker E: Electric arc.
[00:18:15] Speaker B: It's lightning bolt.
[00:18:16] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:18:17] Speaker D: Much more terrifying.
[00:18:18] Speaker E: Oh, God.
[00:18:19] Speaker A: Wait. Hold on, hold on. I gotta look at something here.
[00:18:26] Speaker E: These numbers turn in hero points on saves. Yeah, I'm gonna do that.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: I'm going to activate. Ancient blooded.
I get a plus one to this.
[00:18:36] Speaker D: So I rolled a four, activated my chrono skimmer ability to redo my save and get a plus one. I rolled a four, so I'm turning in a hero point.
[00:18:46] Speaker B: Is your chrono skimmer, is that a fortune effect? Because if it were fortune, then you would not be able to use another here.
[00:18:52] Speaker D: Oh, no, it is. I cannot do that. I see the fortune tag.
[00:18:56] Speaker B: All right, so let's go down the line neros.
[00:18:59] Speaker E: I don't want to talk about it.
So I rolled. Rolled a four, turned in a hero point card, and immediately rolled a three.
So.
[00:19:11] Speaker B: So what's the total?
[00:19:14] Speaker E: 13.
[00:19:15] Speaker B: That's a critical fail.
[00:19:16] Speaker E: Uh huh.
[00:19:18] Speaker B: Howard.
[00:19:19] Speaker D: So I got a grand total of 18 regular fail.
[00:19:25] Speaker A: U ver 23 regular failure.
Geez.
[00:19:31] Speaker F: What?
[00:19:32] Speaker A: Slow way.
[00:19:33] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh. Jordy.
[00:19:37] Speaker C: So I rolled a natural one.
[00:19:39] Speaker D: Oh, no.
[00:19:40] Speaker C: I bent a card to reroll.
[00:19:42] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:19:43] Speaker C: And I rolled seven, which, plus my 13 is an unnatural 20.
[00:19:48] Speaker B: So a regular failure.
[00:19:50] Speaker C: Yeah.
[00:19:50] Speaker F: I feel so bad running off from you guys. Now.
[00:19:53] Speaker D: You're good.
[00:19:54] Speaker E: It's okay.
[00:19:54] Speaker D: It was the move.
[00:19:55] Speaker C: She ran away from you.
[00:19:56] Speaker E: She did.
[00:19:57] Speaker B: For the three of you who got regular failures, it's 29 damage. Oh, and for Neros, that will be 58 electricity damage.
[00:20:07] Speaker D: That would have downed me. Are you okay? Neros?
[00:20:11] Speaker A: Is she down? Are you down?
[00:20:13] Speaker E: I have four points left.
[00:20:16] Speaker C: You were not kidding about upping the difficulty, were you?
[00:20:21] Speaker E: I have six. I have a question.
I don't know if this counts.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: What does it say to play after.
[00:20:29] Speaker E: A foe hits you with a strike?
[00:20:31] Speaker D: It's not a strike.
[00:20:32] Speaker E: Okay, I didn't think so. I was hoping.
[00:20:34] Speaker D: Good thinking, though.
[00:20:35] Speaker E: Whatever. I'll just have four hit points to my name, so.
[00:20:40] Speaker A: Sorry.
[00:20:41] Speaker E: I'm gonna throw up.
[00:20:43] Speaker F: I'll help you. I'll help you.
[00:20:45] Speaker E: You're gonna help me throw up?
[00:20:46] Speaker F: No.
[00:20:49] Speaker B: Zafir, it's your turn.
[00:20:51] Speaker C: Okay.
I'm gonna use a card play at the start of my turn until the end of my turn. I ignore penalties to checks and DC's from conditions, just in case, cuz I have no idea.
But I am going to because my bow is pulled out and I should have a pretty good line of sight spell strike on her. I should be able to hit her from there, right?
[00:21:13] Speaker A: 100%.
[00:21:14] Speaker D: Yes.
[00:21:14] Speaker C: Okay.
[00:21:15] Speaker A: Unless you have the reach of a five year old.
[00:21:18] Speaker C: Well, you knows of fear.
Okay, so that is a 28.
[00:21:25] Speaker B: That's a hit.
[00:21:26] Speaker C: 14 plus 14, which is pretty good. All right, so we're just gonna roll all of this at the same time, if you don't mind.
[00:21:33] Speaker A: What is this again?
[00:21:35] Speaker C: Spell strike with my bow.
[00:21:39] Speaker A: Yeah, but what spell?
[00:21:40] Speaker C: Ah, it produced flame. I believe I chose.
Okay, so that is 16 damage, right? Produce flame.
[00:21:50] Speaker F: How's she looking?
[00:21:52] Speaker B: She's almost. She's injured. We will say.
[00:21:56] Speaker D: I don't like that.
I don't like that. We did a lot of damage, and she's only Jordy. I don't like this.
[00:22:02] Speaker C: Oh, sorry.
[00:22:03] Speaker F: She's got so much health.
[00:22:04] Speaker C: 19 damage because it's a plus three now. She's dead, she's injured, and then I will recharge. Just kind of to take a breather.
[00:22:14] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:22:16] Speaker B: All right, top of round two with Al word.
[00:22:18] Speaker D: Al word is going to basically appear on the other side of the cauldron after casting a spell.
[00:22:29] Speaker B: Ooh.
[00:22:30] Speaker D: So, to everyone, it looks like he's just blink, blink and appears down at the bottom of this bival. And then I'm going to amp telekinetic projectile toward the hag.
I'm gonna use my hero point on that. I'm tired of rolling fours.
[00:22:54] Speaker F: Out of the box.
[00:22:56] Speaker D: It was a five.
[00:22:56] Speaker B: With all these hero points, I feel like a sleazy banker collecting the money.
[00:23:01] Speaker A: Sorry, buddy.
[00:23:03] Speaker D: Can I go home?
[00:23:04] Speaker A: Would you roll?
[00:23:05] Speaker D: Rolled a three. I got a 15.
[00:23:07] Speaker B: That's the second time a four rerolled into a three.
[00:23:11] Speaker D: My metal dice hate me. I'm gonna switch swap out to my stick dice.
[00:23:14] Speaker C: I'm also swapping dice.
Your dice are so loud.
[00:23:20] Speaker D: It was for dramatic effect.
[00:23:21] Speaker F: Also, they're metal. Yes.
[00:23:23] Speaker C: Nobody rolled it. I felt like the table was gonna go loose.
[00:23:26] Speaker D: They're very heavy metal dice.
[00:23:30] Speaker C: That's death.
[00:23:30] Speaker D: That's my turn. My uncle. Servants gone.
[00:23:33] Speaker B: Okay, it is your turn.
[00:23:35] Speaker A: I'm not sustaining.
[00:23:36] Speaker B: That makes sense.
[00:23:38] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:23:38] Speaker B: Stepped up out of that attack.
[00:23:40] Speaker A: She did.
So what everybody's gonna watch uvir do now is going to confuse everyone. I'm sure he's going to attack.
[00:23:49] Speaker D: Neros.
[00:23:51] Speaker E: Please, for the love of everything, don't.
[00:23:54] Speaker B: Oh, crap.
[00:23:54] Speaker C: I forgot.
[00:23:55] Speaker A: You're just gonna see Uvara, get the steely look in his eyes. He's gonna jump 10ft forward.
[00:24:04] Speaker C: You pointed upward.
[00:24:05] Speaker D: Yeah. I was like, not that way.
[00:24:07] Speaker C: We're in the cellar.
[00:24:08] Speaker B: So you jump south.
[00:24:10] Speaker A: I jump south? Yes.
[00:24:11] Speaker B: Not towards the hag. A bit obliquely, off to the side.
[00:24:15] Speaker A: You're just gonna see him jump forward and suddenly you're just gonna see him fall through the floor and a giant splash of water just emanates from where he jumped.
[00:24:25] Speaker C: And adventures in the back room.
[00:24:27] Speaker A: Suddenly, behind the hag, he's going to, like a dolphin, jump out of the ground again with another giant splash and land 10ft away from her in a straight line south. And she needs to make a reflex save. Please.
[00:24:43] Speaker C: I've heard of a leaky basement, but this is ridiculous.
[00:24:45] Speaker D: When did you become a dolphin?
[00:24:47] Speaker A: And. Hold on, hold on. I want disadvantage on this and I'm trying to find which one. All these are good and I don't want to give them up, but I really want disadvantage, so thank you.
[00:24:58] Speaker B: And she rolls a regular fail perfect three d, ten.
[00:25:03] Speaker A: Bludgeoning damage.
[00:25:04] Speaker B: As she is, I presume, battered by the waves.
[00:25:07] Speaker A: Yes, that is exactly right. And that spell was called dive and breach.
Bouver just briefly took a tour of the water realm.
[00:25:18] Speaker D: You jumped into the water realm?
[00:25:20] Speaker A: I did.
[00:25:21] Speaker C: Briefly.
[00:25:22] Speaker A: 24 damage.
[00:25:23] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:25:24] Speaker B: You rolled well.
[00:25:25] Speaker A: I did.
[00:25:26] Speaker B: She is now bloodied.
[00:25:28] Speaker A: And with my last action, I cast shield.
[00:25:31] Speaker C: Now I see why these guys didn't take care of her before.
[00:25:34] Speaker B: Neros, it is your turn. You are standing toe to toe with this hag.
[00:25:39] Speaker E: Yeah, and I would like to not stand toe to toe with a hag.
[00:25:43] Speaker C: I'd say get behind me, but I'm a kid's.
[00:25:45] Speaker F: The wall.
[00:25:45] Speaker A: Get the behind me nave.
[00:25:48] Speaker F: I can do really cool things. If you do delay till after my turn, I go right after you.
[00:25:53] Speaker E: Yeah, I'm right next to a hag.
[00:25:56] Speaker F: Yes, but I can heal you and get advantage on my attack against the creature.
[00:25:59] Speaker C: But her breath is stinky.
[00:26:02] Speaker F: And then on. Then you can run away after I heal you.
[00:26:04] Speaker E: Okay, I'm gonna delay.
[00:26:06] Speaker B: All right.
[00:26:06] Speaker A: Neros is stunned.
[00:26:08] Speaker F: It'll be okay. I've worked it all out.
[00:26:09] Speaker E: I'm literally nauseous.
[00:26:12] Speaker F: I've got you then.
[00:26:14] Speaker B: Val, it is your turn.
[00:26:15] Speaker F: So, Val, out. You've popped over next to her, and things seem a little off. Like I mentioned the smelling if you're near here. But, like, more of those black veins are popping up on the skull side of her face, and she starts looking really angry, and she's gonna stride up to the space below it to the.
[00:26:36] Speaker E: South of the hag.
[00:26:37] Speaker F: To the south of the hag to flank with Neros. And she's yelling, you monster, I'm gonna have me kill you. You were never set foot in this land. And then she's gonna slash with her glaive.
[00:26:50] Speaker B: And you get that flanking bonus because Neros is threatening on the opposite side.
[00:26:55] Speaker E: Threatening, doubled over in pain.
[00:26:58] Speaker F: 31 flanking.
[00:27:00] Speaker B: Did you add a bonus for flanking or no? Okay, then that, because of flanking, is a critical hit. Nice.
[00:27:07] Speaker A: Ten out of ten champions, man.
[00:27:10] Speaker F: That was a 16 on the day.
[00:27:12] Speaker D: It's just a marshal. Really.
[00:27:15] Speaker F: That's 26 slashing damage. Wait, hold on. 30 slashing damage because of deadly. And then. Cause she's still hastened. She's gonna step to the northwest, and then she's gonna lay on hands on Neros with her last action to heal neros. 18 hit points. And. And you get a plus two status bonus to ac nice.
Like neros. Come here. You'll be all right.
[00:27:43] Speaker E: How much did. How much did you say?
[00:27:45] Speaker F: 18.
[00:27:46] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:27:48] Speaker A: First time being so low?
[00:27:50] Speaker E: I don't think so.
[00:27:51] Speaker D: No. You've been down before.
[00:27:52] Speaker E: I have been down, but I've been almost dead before. When I melted the guy's face. All right, I was technically down.
[00:27:58] Speaker F: Oh. Did it take persistent damage at the end of its turn?
[00:28:01] Speaker B: I had forgotten, but I just rolled. She took five.
[00:28:05] Speaker F: Okay, that. That was one. Do you. Would you like to.
[00:28:08] Speaker B: Yes. Would you like to roll the check to see if she recovers?
[00:28:11] Speaker F: You want me to roll it?
[00:28:13] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:28:13] Speaker F: Okay.
[00:28:13] Speaker B: It's more fun that way.
[00:28:14] Speaker F: If it's a 15 or higher, she loses it. Well, I've been rolling really high. This is not good. Oh, a one. She's still taking it.
[00:28:22] Speaker B: So she continues to have this, just negative energy coursing through her body. And you can see, you know, the veins standing out with just like, this blackest blackish corruption in it.
[00:28:32] Speaker F: Fal's just lashing out very angrily with.
[00:28:34] Speaker B: Her glaive and neros. It is your turn.
[00:28:37] Speaker E: I'd like to back away, far, far away.
More than 10ft, please.
[00:28:44] Speaker C: Just run up the stairs past the.
[00:28:46] Speaker E: Yeah, that'll work. Sure.
[00:28:47] Speaker B: So near us, you back up to the wall opposite.
[00:28:50] Speaker E: Yeah, that's probably not smart, but that's where I'm gonna go.
[00:28:53] Speaker F: If you were one step closer, I could use a reaction. If it tries to attack you.
[00:29:00] Speaker E: Then I will be one step away from the wall.
[00:29:04] Speaker B: So you start backing up towards the wall and then you crunch. Step on bones and val's like, stop right there.
[00:29:11] Speaker E: And this is probably not gonna work.
We'll save.
[00:29:16] Speaker C: Ooh, please.
[00:29:21] Speaker E: What's your DC 22?
[00:29:23] Speaker B: That's a regular fail.
[00:29:24] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:29:26] Speaker E: Okay. Phantom pain.
[00:29:28] Speaker D: Oh, heck yeah.
[00:29:29] Speaker E: It's not that high of a spell.
[00:29:31] Speaker D: But damage is damage.
[00:29:35] Speaker C: I believe in you.
[00:29:36] Speaker E: I don't believe in myself.
Five.
[00:29:42] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:29:42] Speaker E: Mental damage. And since it's a regular fail. Right. Second one.
[00:29:49] Speaker C: Nice.
[00:29:50] Speaker E: And this will also deal. One d. Four. Persistent mental damage.
[00:29:55] Speaker F: All the persistent damage. Stack it up.
[00:29:58] Speaker B: All right. So you step back, cast a spell. Then it is the hags turn.
So much has changed, she doesn't know what to do.
[00:30:09] Speaker F: She can sit down and just take a breather.
[00:30:13] Speaker D: She can go prone and question her life choices.
[00:30:18] Speaker B: I'd recommend that she is really looking beat up. She is bloodied, she's got a big gash in her from that critical hit from the glaive, and she is looking concerned. So she starts waving her hands around again to cast a spell, and as she reaches the culmination of this, out from her hands just starts pouring like a fog machine, this thick mist that just rises up around her and the 20ft around her are now covered in a viscous mass of mist, a mistus.
So anything within the space shown on the board is concealed to you as it's full of mists.
[00:31:02] Speaker D: And what's concealment do again?
[00:31:04] Speaker B: You have to make a flat check five or better to hit what's in it.
[00:31:07] Speaker D: Okay.
[00:31:08] Speaker B: And it is now Zafir's turn.
[00:31:10] Speaker F: Oh, that was her whole turn.
[00:31:12] Speaker C: What I'm trying to think of is I can use my shooting star. It gives the benefits of concealment, negation, and cover reduction.
[00:31:20] Speaker D: That'd be great.
[00:31:21] Speaker C: I'm gonna do that. I'm gonna do exactly that.
[00:31:24] Speaker D: Ten out of ten.
[00:31:25] Speaker C: So you see him knock another bow and just straight into the cloud. The last time I saw her, you just see a shooting. Well, not a shooting star, but another flaming arrow goes straight for her.
Eh, I can use this card anyway. Well, I rolled a four plus 14. Does 18 hit?
[00:31:48] Speaker B: I don't think I tell you before you commit to your card.
[00:31:51] Speaker C: Well, I mean, you can, because it says it plays after I fail an attack roll.
[00:31:56] Speaker B: Ah, you fail this attack roll.
[00:31:58] Speaker C: No, I didn't. Oh, my card lets me automatically succeed.
[00:32:03] Speaker D: Good.
[00:32:03] Speaker A: We need that success.
[00:32:04] Speaker D: You hit, I think, which second time you had that car.
[00:32:07] Speaker C: I know. Every time it comes up in my hand, I'm like, yes, I'm picking it. Does that deal damage?
[00:32:12] Speaker B: Yes, it will do your. Do your regular damage as if you just shot your bow, and then it has all those special effects as well.
[00:32:18] Speaker D: Oh, it's really good, because it has.
[00:32:19] Speaker B: The wording of make a range strike. So it's just a regular attack, and then the rest of it is the special effects from the. Okay, I would also like to point out this does not have the attack trait.
[00:32:30] Speaker D: What?
[00:32:31] Speaker B: So this does not contribute to your multi attack penalty.
[00:32:33] Speaker D: Oh, that's amazing.
[00:32:36] Speaker C: So does that mean you can attack.
[00:32:37] Speaker A: Again without a negative? Without a negative, yeah.
[00:32:41] Speaker D: Freaking go ham petite.
[00:32:43] Speaker C: All right, so for that, that deals an entire four damage, but nice. It gives the benefits of concealment, negation, and. And cover reduction to any attacks made against the creature until the start of my next turn. So ten out of ten, what are they? No longer concealed to your allies.
[00:33:02] Speaker B: Everybody just ignores that mist and proceeds as normal.
[00:33:05] Speaker A: That's awesome.
[00:33:06] Speaker B: You wasted her entire turn.
[00:33:08] Speaker C: Fantastic.
[00:33:09] Speaker F: Did she take the double persistent damage from me and Neros?
[00:33:13] Speaker B: She didn't. Each of you roll a d four if she died.
[00:33:16] Speaker D: I'm so sad. That wasn't in the box. Four one.
[00:33:20] Speaker B: All right, and then we'll each of you roll a d 20 to see if it ends.
[00:33:23] Speaker A: Roll o.
[00:33:26] Speaker F: Mine ends.
[00:33:27] Speaker A: Hers. Does 218.
[00:33:30] Speaker E: Of course, now I roll.
[00:33:31] Speaker B: Well, mood. So, zafir you have made contact with your shooting star. That arc of light left trailing in the air is pointing out her exact position. Everyone, including yourself, can just ignore the concealment she's conjured up from the mistake. You have two actions remaining.
[00:33:48] Speaker C: I will now do another spell strike. And I've already rolled, hitting with a 31.
[00:33:56] Speaker B: But roll for damage.
[00:33:58] Speaker D: Nice.
[00:33:59] Speaker A: It's not critical, though.
[00:34:00] Speaker E: I don't mind.
[00:34:00] Speaker D: Yeah, if flanking existed.
[00:34:04] Speaker C: Eight damage.
[00:34:05] Speaker D: Damage is damage. We take that.
[00:34:07] Speaker C: Yeah, but.
[00:34:11] Speaker E: Just her.
[00:34:12] Speaker D: Yeah. No, we give that.
[00:34:14] Speaker C: It was. It was produced flame.
[00:34:17] Speaker B: All right.
[00:34:17] Speaker D: We don't want you to have it. So she's not.
[00:34:20] Speaker B: No.
[00:34:21] Speaker E: No.
[00:34:21] Speaker D: What?
[00:34:22] Speaker B: She's sickened.
[00:34:23] Speaker D: Uh huh.
[00:34:24] Speaker B: Because of Nero?
[00:34:25] Speaker F: Yeah.
[00:34:26] Speaker D: Wait, does that mean.
[00:34:27] Speaker F: Does that make that a critical.
[00:34:30] Speaker D: So 16 damage.
[00:34:31] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:34:32] Speaker D: Okay. Is she gone?
[00:34:34] Speaker B: She is not gone.
Double damage.
[00:34:37] Speaker D: You got me so excited.
[00:34:38] Speaker A: You might. You might do this hour, but it's.
[00:34:40] Speaker C: Just still pretty good.
[00:34:41] Speaker F: Wait, does that spell do anything on the crit?
[00:34:43] Speaker B: Produce flame has an effect on critical hits.
[00:34:46] Speaker C: Oh, my God, it does. Okay, I think it does.
[00:34:48] Speaker F: Persistent fire.
[00:34:49] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:34:52] Speaker A: Yes, it does. Wait, yes, it does.
[00:34:53] Speaker F: I'm gonna be a jerk. Doesn't the second go away when the persistent damage goes away?
[00:34:59] Speaker A: No, don't think so.
[00:35:01] Speaker E: If it says in my spell, if the target recovers from being sickened, the persistent damage, it's the recovery.
[00:35:06] Speaker F: Oh, the other way around. So wait, that means hers doesn't go away?
[00:35:10] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:35:10] Speaker F: So he she still takes persistent from Abby?
[00:35:13] Speaker B: Yeah, that's correct. It doesn't automatically end on die rolls. It ends when she becomes unsickened. So she is still suffering from the ongoing mental age.
[00:35:22] Speaker F: I had a different end result of what I thought it would with me bringing this up, and that's good.
[00:35:28] Speaker C: So that means three D, four. Persistent fire damage.
At least that's what my thing is.
[00:35:34] Speaker A: Three D, four. I looked at it.
[00:35:35] Speaker C: She takes double damage and 3d for persistent fire.
[00:35:38] Speaker A: Produce flame is. Whoo. It's a really nice cantrip.
[00:35:41] Speaker B: Okay, so realizing that that was. She is sickened. So that was a critical hit. She is on her last legs as we go to the top of round three with Al word.
[00:35:51] Speaker D: Al word is going to unleash his psyche and then try again with amped telekinetic projectile.
[00:35:59] Speaker A: Go, buddy, go.
[00:36:00] Speaker F: It's our unleashed. Oh, he's turning in a hero. Point, everyone.
[00:36:05] Speaker D: I want to do something.
[00:36:06] Speaker E: I understand so well.
[00:36:12] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness gracious. I is it less than 20?
[00:36:21] Speaker F: You've done a lot of support.
[00:36:23] Speaker E: That's true.
[00:36:24] Speaker C: You helped me deal double damage.
[00:36:26] Speaker D: Second me too.
[00:36:28] Speaker B: It's closer, but still not a hit.
[00:36:30] Speaker F: It's okay, buddy.
[00:36:32] Speaker C: Sam, I'm pretty sure you're the only one with all of your cards left.
[00:36:36] Speaker F: I'm shocked I haven't needed to reuse a card. I've been so prepared.
[00:36:40] Speaker E: Yeah. All of our luck went to him.
[00:36:42] Speaker C: I've used all mine.
[00:36:44] Speaker D: Okay. I'm casting guidance on Val.
[00:36:45] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:46] Speaker F: I feel so guided and angry, hurting.
[00:36:48] Speaker D: My brain for no reason.
[00:36:50] Speaker C: Fast, fast. Angry and guided.
[00:36:52] Speaker B: It is Uwehr's turn.
[00:36:54] Speaker F: I don't know how to feel.
[00:36:56] Speaker A: You're going to see Uwe channel or reach under his cloak, grab something, and energy is just going to just travel up his arm as, once again, you're going to see him die. Forward to a place where a five foot emanation will hit and jump right next to it and jump 10ft away from it. Again.
I need a reflex save again.
[00:37:25] Speaker B: All right.
[00:37:27] Speaker A: 22.
[00:37:28] Speaker B: Critical failure. Because she's sickened.
[00:37:31] Speaker D: That sicken is coming in.
[00:37:33] Speaker C: Fam, don't mess with neros.
[00:37:36] Speaker E: I'll make you sick.
[00:37:40] Speaker D: Them. Tentacle odds.
[00:37:43] Speaker E: Math.
Confused. Math.
[00:37:46] Speaker A: 35.
[00:37:47] Speaker B: Four. So, uwe, you dive and you breach. And how does this finish the hag?
[00:37:54] Speaker D: Yeah.
[00:37:57] Speaker A: As he jumps forward, and it doesn't matter which one it is, I just imagined the. The waves just seem a bit denser this time. As if he pulled from the bottom of the water realm, and as if the pressure is contained in the waves as they hit her and instantly just crush her into a tiny ball, eviscerating everything into a pinprick. And then the waves just whoosh along the floor, dissipating, and all is left is mush.
[00:38:40] Speaker D: Gross.
[00:38:41] Speaker E: Yummy.
[00:38:42] Speaker B: And we see as the water is kind of, like, draining back through the extra dimensional portal, a single potato spins and comes to a stop.
And that's where we'll end this episode.
[00:38:56] Speaker E: Oh, my gosh.
[00:38:57] Speaker B: All right, so the hero point for this episode actually goes to both Petit and Abby, because we didn't hand out a hero point at the end of last episode, since everybody was full up, there was one waiting in the wings. So we got one hero point to petite for his clever usage of shooting star to overcome that entire witch's last turn. And one hero point to Abby for that clutch sicken getting three full crits.
[00:39:24] Speaker C: Out, basically making this entire thing possible. And I just want to know, Abby, how many cards do you have left?
[00:39:30] Speaker E: I only used one, so.
[00:39:32] Speaker C: Okay, so I'm out of cards, but this helps.
[00:39:34] Speaker E: So do you want mine?
[00:39:36] Speaker C: No, you deserve yours. You made my stuff better. Better.
So I want to thank you specifically for helping me get this card.
[00:39:48] Speaker E: Well, thank you for pointing out where the hag was so we didn't have to worry about concealment.
[00:39:54] Speaker C: Fantastic. Well, I am now going to pick out which card I want to keep.
[00:39:58] Speaker E: I mean, yeah, same. And I'm not going to go cry in a corner.
[00:40:02] Speaker F: I come with you.
[00:40:03] Speaker E: What?
[00:40:04] Speaker D: Can I come cry with you?
[00:40:05] Speaker E: Yeah, we can cry over our horrible roles together.
[00:40:07] Speaker C: Wait, but you said you weren't going to episode.
[00:40:10] Speaker F: Whatever.
[00:40:10] Speaker C: Let's all cry for half an hour.
[00:40:13] Speaker A: They're gonna take a free action.
[00:40:15] Speaker E: Some of us just need to weep. Okay.
[00:40:18] Speaker B: And we will see you all weeping in the next episode.

[00:40:52] Speaker F: It's just really fast.
[00:40:53] Speaker C: I probably saved about.
[00:40:54] Speaker F: What the heck did you just write?
[00:40:56] Speaker D: Comedid, not a dimple.
[00:41:02] Speaker C: All right, new topic.
How does Fenn. What is Fenn trying to say?
