[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part. Such as, like comment rate. And don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off? [00:00:36] Speaker A: Ah, yes. [00:00:40] Speaker B: Uver Val and Delilah fought off an invasion of fanatical fire elementals. And Uver took the fabled ifrit's heart Ruby, closing the portal to the fire plane. The audience is listening. [00:01:04] Speaker C: Oh, they're listening. Well, that's good. [00:01:07] Speaker A: So hold on. We got a TIE fighter coming through here. [00:01:11] Speaker C: Take cover. [00:01:12] Speaker B: Take the shot. All those times where we have to stop for traffic. [00:01:21] Speaker C: Breathe. Sam. [00:01:22] Speaker A: It died. [00:01:23] Speaker C: Okay, so not to give too much away, but this could be my last banter as I think Delilah's time. [00:01:30] Speaker D: I think we probably shouldn't do a banter today. [00:01:37] Speaker C: I'm staring at Sam. I realize the listeners need to hear what I'm doing. Giving it an indignant glare. No, but I. So I've been thinking about this, my last banter. And I really want to get the full written and lost experience. So actually, I need to ask a question of you specifically, Sven. [00:01:57] Speaker A: Oh, no. [00:02:00] Speaker C: How do you make a grilled cheese? [00:02:04] Speaker D: Wow. Let me show you the trouble. You bake it, but you cut it into a circle. [00:02:12] Speaker B: Is that it? [00:02:13] Speaker C: Is that all it. [00:02:14] Speaker B: Wow. [00:02:15] Speaker D: That's all it took 20, 20 minutes to get there last time. It's just a circle. [00:02:24] Speaker C: That's cool. I feel fulfilled. This is the written in a lost experience that I've been hoping and dreaming about. [00:02:34] Speaker D: This week on Big Breakfast. Have you guys been watching those streams? I feel like no one is ever showing up for them. [00:02:43] Speaker B: Sam, don't get their hopes up. You know how much they want big breakfast. [00:02:46] Speaker D: Every Sunday, I go to my kitchen, I make food. I'm talking to them. No one's talking back. [00:02:52] Speaker C: Sven was turning purple over there. Now he's crying. [00:02:59] Speaker A: I don't think I could tell you if I wanted to now. [00:03:03] Speaker D: Right? High five, Sven. [00:03:09] Speaker B: Sam is holding up a paper cutout of like, one of those sweetheart Valentine's Day candies that says high five. [00:03:15] Speaker D: It's just on the table over here. I don't know why. Same with coffee. You got the spit. You can calm down. Cool. [00:03:28] Speaker C: Me asking that question has had the desired effect. [00:03:33] Speaker B: So. Since Sam. Since Sven has got such good control over his affect at the moment. I just wanted to share a brief story that Abby has recently gotten me into watching Star Trek the Next Generation. And so far I'm enjoying it. I mean, the only parts that I'm not like, wow, this is great. I'm like, this is directly related to their budget and I know it's going to get better. So, like, I'm having a good time, but I'm sitting there. We're in the first episode, technically episode two, because it's a two parter. But practically speaking, first episode, and Riker walks into this room to talk to this just, you know, extra character, and I'm just like, homeless Matt Mercer. [00:04:17] Speaker C: Homeless Mercer. [00:04:19] Speaker D: Isn't that Mark Mercer? [00:04:20] Speaker C: Mark Mercer. [00:04:22] Speaker B: Zorn Gropper Zorn. Gropler Zorn. [00:04:26] Speaker C: That's a good one. [00:04:27] Speaker D: He's like clean shaven Riker. [00:04:29] Speaker B: Yeah, this is back in the era of clean shaven Riker. [00:04:32] Speaker D: He doesn't. It just looks wrong when he. [00:04:34] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness, you're right. [00:04:37] Speaker B: And it's like if you're just looking at an image of him, it's like, yeah, he kind of looks like Matt Mercer. It's his mannerisms and like how he moves in the scene that I'm just like, this just looks like Matt Mercer. [00:04:47] Speaker D: Oh, not Riker, but this other guy. [00:04:49] Speaker B: Yeah, Roppler Zorn. [00:04:50] Speaker A: Get it right. [00:04:52] Speaker D: I thought that was the name of the episode. And then he said, Riker looks like homeless Mark Mercer. [00:04:57] Speaker B: No, the Epis episode is Encounter at Farpoint. But this guy, and then he's. He's got the long hair and he's got like a long vest on and everything. And I'm like, it's homeless Matt Mercer. And then he just like starts narrating and talking up to this guy and I'm like, what is happening? [00:05:13] Speaker D: Carol, when you see Mark Mercer, you should tell him that. [00:05:17] Speaker C: Gosh, I would love to meet Mark Mercer. I could have met Riker this weekend at convention or even Data. [00:05:24] Speaker B: I wanted to go, but I just couldn't get it in my schedule. [00:05:27] Speaker D: My wife doing something yesterday. [00:05:30] Speaker B: I didn't know that until Friday. I thought I was gonna be babysitting four puppies. [00:05:37] Speaker D: And you did. You could have brought your four puppies. [00:05:40] Speaker B: Just like, hi, would you autograph my puppies? [00:05:44] Speaker D: They're not mine. I'm just watching them for a little bit. [00:05:48] Speaker B: They weren't even mine. I was just fostering them. So here's this puppy. Why does it say Jonathan Frakes on the stuff? [00:05:58] Speaker C: That's its name. [00:06:00] Speaker D: Little Johnny Frakes. [00:06:01] Speaker B: Little Johnny Frakes. [00:06:04] Speaker D: Freddy sm. You get Alan Tudyk. He would love it. Yeah, just skip the line. They'll love it. [00:06:12] Speaker B: Excuse me, pardon me, Coming through this. Poop. Poop. Four puppies. [00:06:17] Speaker D: They're weeks old. [00:06:20] Speaker C: I think Jordy's traumatized. [00:06:23] Speaker B: Well, you know, looking at the foster puppies, there's always poop. [00:06:28] Speaker C: Yeah, right. [00:06:30] Speaker D: What was that? Two, three weeks of. Just like two weeks. [00:06:32] Speaker B: Yeah. I'm tired, man. [00:06:34] Speaker D: He's pooped. [00:06:35] Speaker B: He's pooped. [00:06:40] Speaker C: Speaking of poop. Never mind. [00:06:44] Speaker D: We open a burnt. We just need to cut that. That's so bad. Allow me to. No, no, we open. There's a small clipping of a fingernail singed from fire on the stone floor. [00:07:00] Speaker C: I apologize for everything I've ever done. [00:07:03] Speaker D: All right. Go away. [00:07:06] Speaker C: All right, that's it. Bye. [00:07:07] Speaker D: He's just here for the banter, that's all. [00:07:11] Speaker B: We'll dive right in. Coming right on. After that mood, I'm sure you're all able to just jump right in. Uvaire, still under the effects of fiery body. Not for much longer now, but still under the effects of fiery body. You've reached out underneath this portal that is now stabilized. And you wrap your hands around this ostrich egg sized ruby. [00:07:30] Speaker D: That's a. It's that big? [00:07:32] Speaker B: Yes. [00:07:33] Speaker D: Oh, I didn't. I didn't catch that last time. [00:07:35] Speaker C: Jordy did describe it that way. [00:07:37] Speaker D: That's a really big picture it, Sven. An ostrich egg ruby. [00:07:40] Speaker C: Conceptualize, if you will. [00:07:42] Speaker A: Don't try to do that. [00:07:44] Speaker D: That's like this size. [00:07:45] Speaker B: So if you're not familiar with the size of an ostrich egg, maybe a moderately sized fryer hen. Maybe about like a 2 liter of soda with the top cut off. Let's give inches a two pound bag of sugar. 5. [00:08:03] Speaker C: How obscure of a reference can we make, Sven? [00:08:09] Speaker D: It is about 6 to 8 inches tall. [00:08:12] Speaker A: Excellent. [00:08:13] Speaker D: It weighs 3 to 5 pounds. [00:08:15] Speaker B: You excellently reach out. [00:08:16] Speaker A: Oh my goodness. [00:08:18] Speaker D: Take a Sierra bowl. [00:08:20] Speaker C: Excellent joker, Jordy. [00:08:22] Speaker B: Oh, and as you lift this egg sized ruby off of the floor, the portal shimmers, quakes and collapses in on itself. And immediately the temperature in the room begins to drop down to more regular levels. [00:08:40] Speaker D: We're all going to get sick. Our bodies are not regulated for this. [00:08:44] Speaker A: Val, could you go turn off the cooling air or whatever it was? [00:08:50] Speaker D: Yes, I believe I can do that. And I won't turn on the vacuum. And then she's going to rush off to go turn off the cooling. I really thought we were just switching which room is cooled. [00:09:05] Speaker A: You are. [00:09:06] Speaker D: Where we. Is there a way to actually just turn it off completely? [00:09:10] Speaker B: If you put it in the center, there's an off. I didn't mention it at the time, but there's an off center. [00:09:14] Speaker D: All right, good. Good to know. All right, I'll just run over and I'll go and put it in the center. [00:09:19] Speaker B: It's like those really annoying showers where you turn it left for hot, right for cold, and the middle is off. And it's like, what if I want it in between hot and cold? [00:09:28] Speaker D: Only a loser would want that. You don't deserve a shower. [00:09:33] Speaker B: So, Uwe, standing in this space between hot and cold, you are now holding this large, smooth ruby, and looking into the center of it, it's almost as if there is a flame inside of the ruby itself. And as you're watching, it's flickering, but in a very steady heartbeat sort of pattern. [00:09:57] Speaker A: After the portal closes and Val turns down the temperature to a more reasonable level or turns it up, the spell finally ends, and Uvair essentially rematerializes from his fiery form, still holding this beating ruby. [00:10:21] Speaker D: All right, I'm back. Hi. Is that the thing we're looking for? [00:10:27] Speaker C: Well, it seems to be beating like a heart. Jordy. I have arcane sense as one of my feats, which means I always have a detect magic going. Pretty much. I'm assuming that thing is very magical indeed. Yes. [00:10:44] Speaker A: Let's see. [00:10:45] Speaker C: Rank seven, detect magic. [00:10:49] Speaker B: It actually scales with your level of arcana, so it should be the master rank. [00:10:54] Speaker C: Third rank. [00:10:55] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:10:56] Speaker C: I learned the rank or level of the most powerful magical effect the spell detects, as determined by you. [00:11:03] Speaker B: Seventh rank. [00:11:06] Speaker C: I mean, whether that's the thing you're looking for or not, it's quite a powerful artifact. [00:11:14] Speaker D: I didn't realize it was going to actually be beating. I thought it was just a gem called E3T Shirt. [00:11:22] Speaker A: I think it is more as a culmination of making an artificial heart. Ah. Something that should be impossible, but yet here it is. [00:11:36] Speaker D: I mean, they did something similar with the spirit stones, right where they were animating things back in the old Joel. [00:11:43] Speaker A: I don't think it is like those. That is a different form of magic. More of they deal with more of what is and. And what can be contained. And this is more of creating something from nothing, almost. It is not a heart of an ifrit, but is one that he made, one that was not born. [00:12:13] Speaker C: I was going to ask if I might try to identify it with my arcana. [00:12:17] Speaker B: Yeah, go ahead and make an arcana check. [00:12:22] Speaker C: My luck ran out. [00:12:23] Speaker A: He rolled a NAT one. [00:12:24] Speaker C: I sure did. For a total of 26. [00:12:28] Speaker D: But it looks like a ruby. [00:12:30] Speaker A: It looks like a ruby. He was a genius in how he made this. Once in a generation, We May never see his like again. And perhaps we shouldn't. [00:12:55] Speaker C: I mean, I always thought he was just a crazy old man, but I guess there's always some genius hidden in places you don't expect. [00:13:05] Speaker A: Being intelligent does not always make you wise. Just because we can do something, doesn't mean we should. And in this case, he paid the price. Orvus, you fool. But perhaps we can make some good of this. [00:13:28] Speaker D: We'll do our best. I'm sorry about your friend there. [00:13:35] Speaker A: I know him as a teacher with a student, but somehow that doesn't make it better. [00:13:46] Speaker D: Did he have any family or anyone for the burials? The body? [00:13:54] Speaker C: Would Delilah know such a thing? Jordi, His. [00:13:59] Speaker B: He's had family, but due to his advanced age, there's no one in the area. Anywhere nearby really that is still around. He may have like cousins or someone. Often another of the Sky Citadels, but nobody local. [00:14:14] Speaker C: Nobody local. But I will check with the administration to see if there's any distant relatives that should be notified. I'm sorry. Too fair. And don't worry about the damage to the room. I know I yelled at you after you your spell damaged it, but. Don't. After everything else that's gone on here, that's the least of any of one's concerns. [00:14:42] Speaker A: He turns and places a hand on your shoulder. You are doing your job. I take no offense. In your situation I would have done the same. This library is very dear to me as well. And today he says as he puts the pearl away, I believe we saved it from destruction. But it does worry me. About what that Efrit said? That Immiri has marched this plane for domination. [00:15:21] Speaker D: It wouldn't be the first extra dimensional being to do that. Or the 20th. [00:15:27] Speaker C: Well, if Ymiri plans to use Tarazmuk, she's going to have the Blue Orders to contend with. I promise you we will do our best to make sure that there are no further incursions. [00:15:42] Speaker A: Indeed. And he looks around. I believe there are few places on this plane of existence that would be worse for them to try. [00:15:53] Speaker D: Yeah, of course. The Blue Order people are half as good as you go. Hello. Everyone's gonna be fine. [00:15:59] Speaker C: Well, speaking of the Warders, do you all have any further business here in Tarkasmuk or was this the bulk of it? [00:16:08] Speaker A: There were a few things I wanted to follow up on. When we were on our way here, you discussed a book that I made. [00:16:21] Speaker C: Yes, yes, a treatise on temporal mechanics. Not to be too blunt, but it was quite clear that you had no memory of writing that one. [00:16:32] Speaker A: And yet you remember that I wrote it. [00:16:35] Speaker C: Well, yes, I studied it. And your name is on the book. [00:16:43] Speaker A: Do you have a copy? [00:16:44] Speaker C: I do. And in fact I have one with me right here. And I'm going to reach into my bag. [00:16:48] Speaker D: Do you have like a whole section of the library? [00:16:52] Speaker C: He has written quite a few. I wouldn't say a whole section, but there is a. There is a rather large shelf. [00:17:01] Speaker B: A rather large shelf. [00:17:03] Speaker A: I may be saying something for the size of this library. [00:17:07] Speaker D: Neat. [00:17:08] Speaker C: And Delilah will reach into her bag and pull out a copy of A Treatise on Temporal Mechanics written by Uvaire Starkwind and hand it to him. [00:17:19] Speaker A: He grabs it and looks at the COVID and the title and opens to the first page where I'm guessing the author's name would be. [00:17:36] Speaker D: That's a bunch of legal. [00:17:37] Speaker A: Possibly when it was copyright, [00:17:41] Speaker B: the date on the book where it's like you've written it. It's not exactly a copyright date because they don't have copyright in Golarion, but the publication date places it with shortly about five years after you'd left Katar Kasmuk to go on your journeys and wanderings out in the world. But underneath that it lists Uwe Sterkvind as the author and then says dedicated to my friend. And then there's just blank space. [00:18:11] Speaker C: I was a nap. [00:18:12] Speaker A: Odd. It seems I neglected to write who this was dedicated to. [00:18:20] Speaker C: I did also find that curious. [00:18:21] Speaker A: Did. [00:18:22] Speaker C: Do you? I mean, you don't remember writing it, so I'm assuming you don't remember who you meant to dedicate it to either or. [00:18:32] Speaker D: Nearest thing. [00:18:38] Speaker C: One of your friends, I presume? [00:18:41] Speaker A: Yes. He flips through a little bit, skimming it really. Obviously not sitting down and just straight up reading it. Nothing about it looks familiar. [00:18:55] Speaker B: No. And in fact, beyond not looking familiar, it looks like stuff you've never even studied. But that strikes you as odd because a lot of the things it's referenced in a way that you would describe it, it looks like something you've written. But not only do you not remember writing, you don't remember learning this. [00:19:15] Speaker A: He closes the book. Can I borrow a copy of this? [00:19:23] Speaker C: Of course, yes. That. That one. That's my personal copy. [00:19:28] Speaker A: Then I'll take good care of it. As he reaches back, touches his staff and it disappears. I think I wish to visit another friend. [00:19:46] Speaker C: Well, I will continue to accompany you while you are here. I do not think you should dwdle here over long. [00:19:54] Speaker A: No. [00:19:55] Speaker C: Because there's going to be a lot of questions that need answering about what happened here. Today. And I think you two have more important matters than sitting in interrogation rooms answering a bunch of questions. I will handle whatever comes next. And I will make sure that Orvust his legacy is preserved to the best of my ability. But I think you should finish your dealings here as soon as possible. [00:20:33] Speaker A: His legacy? I think it best that the greatest portion of his legacy never come to light. [00:20:44] Speaker C: I will do my best to make sure that happens. [00:20:48] Speaker D: Val's gonna slip away during that little ass little bit conversation over to Orvis's body to see if his soul is still around. See if I need to, like. Because, like, last time I was around something like this, Sparzak opened a gate for me. Like, hey, take these away. So she's like, maybe I need to do that again. So she's gonna kind of slip over and see. Also, she's kind of got her cloak covering over her right arm. Omar, because it still hasn't stopped looking like stars and all of that, and just looking a little different. And there's like an eye popping out on part of it, and she's like, I'm gonna keep that covered up. I don't know why this is still happening, [00:21:30] Speaker A: Val. [00:21:30] Speaker B: As you draw close to where you had left Orvus's body, you feel that same arm that's got the strange aspect, like space and stars seen through it. And it's sort of like tingling, almost like pins and needles, like your arm has fallen asleep. And then almost as if on its own, it's being, like, drawn out in front of you. Do you resist? No. Then, as you just relax and let your arm do what it will, it reaches out in front of you and begins tracing runes and gestures in the air in front of you that you don't quite recognize, and then suddenly grasps. And as before, you see just a portal into the darkness of the space between planes open in front of you. And Orvus's spirit materializes next to you, and he gives you a nod. [00:22:30] Speaker D: I'm sorry for what happened to you, my friend. We'll get you home now. Very proud of the work you've done. [00:22:49] Speaker B: I am ready to go. I thank you for putting an end to my misery. He glances back down the hall to where Uvaire and Delilah are still talking. And with a small, sad smile, is just like, it is good to see my work will not be forgotten. [00:23:13] Speaker D: Yes, well, you'll never be forgotten. Someone will always remember you. And then, right this way, if you will. I guess you'll just, like, reach out her arm to him, and he, like, [00:23:34] Speaker B: reaches out and, like, grabs onto your arm, kind of like, you know, escorting someone into a ballroom. [00:23:41] Speaker D: And as they step through, Eval's full form changes again as they step through the portal. [00:23:49] Speaker A: Right before they step through the portal, Uvaire is going to glance down the hallway and quietly look at Orvuz before he makes that transition into the other plane. Goodbye, young Orvis. [00:24:15] Speaker B: And as before, as Val steps through, the portal closes behind her. [00:24:23] Speaker A: How long does that take? [00:24:25] Speaker B: A few minutes. [00:24:26] Speaker A: Okay. Then we continue our conversation as we've already done. [00:24:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I imagine that probably could have happened during that conversation. And, like, maybe just part way into it, or u looks over and says his farewell. So as the two of you continue discussing this book, the strangeness of it, Uber, you've tucked it away into your staff. And at that moment, just as things might start getting awkward, is when this portal to the darkness between planes reopens. And Val steps back through as she [00:25:02] Speaker D: kind of returns looking normal. As she steps out of that gate, her right arm does not return to normal again. [00:25:11] Speaker A: As soon as Uvaire notices that you're back, he'll turn to Delilah and, like, then I. I suppose we should get going. [00:25:21] Speaker C: I would recommend it. [00:25:24] Speaker A: We will make one more stop, and then we will leave. Val, are you ready? As he says, he's walking down the hallway. [00:25:35] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah, I'm ready. Are we going to stay the night here as well, or are we gonna go somewhere else? [00:25:42] Speaker A: I think it best that we not. [00:25:46] Speaker D: Okay. [00:25:47] Speaker C: Unless you want to suffer through a dwarven interrogation about what happened here today, day, I would recommend leaving as soon as possible. [00:25:54] Speaker D: That's understandable. There just Orvis said thank you. I thought. I say that before things start happening. [00:26:10] Speaker A: Thank you, Val. Now, there's a certain craftsman I would like to employ. [00:26:20] Speaker B: Wipe. Transition. All right. Uber. What's this craftsman named? [00:26:29] Speaker D: Yeah, you have to name some born. [00:26:35] Speaker A: What? [00:26:36] Speaker B: I was gonna grab a surname off of my name generator, and the first one I saw was Chaos Toe Orn. [00:26:42] Speaker A: Chaos Orn. Chaos Toe Toad. My brain isn't much better than your name generator for names because it just [00:26:54] Speaker B: went Hazel Bottom or Hazel Bottom's marvelous magical artillery. [00:27:01] Speaker A: Oh, my goodness. I have to meet this guy now. [00:27:07] Speaker D: Good thing we're walking right up to his storefront. [00:27:10] Speaker A: Okay, we're going with this. All right. [00:27:14] Speaker B: Oh, Bonjour. [00:27:17] Speaker A: No. [00:27:19] Speaker B: What is it? You think this voice does not work for the Dwarven cat? [00:27:28] Speaker D: I think we have the wrong place. Close the door. I think it's. [00:27:34] Speaker B: All right. Fine. I'll recast it. [00:27:37] Speaker D: I didn't have A problem with it? Sven loves it. He's laughing. [00:27:42] Speaker B: How am I gonna interact with him? [00:27:43] Speaker C: Okay, Sven, how would you interact with a real French person? Just do that. [00:27:49] Speaker D: Remember your voice. [00:27:50] Speaker B: A normal person doesn't just walk up to you as soon as you walk into the store. Just hello. [00:27:55] Speaker D: Remember, you're a French vampire. Uber, he's French. [00:27:58] Speaker A: I do interact with a real French person. [00:28:01] Speaker D: Moving on from the French. [00:28:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:28:04] Speaker B: Bonjour. Welcome back to all nasal bottom's marvelous magical atelier. What can I do for you? Hello. This is an inside joke between the two of us. [00:28:21] Speaker D: What part's an inside joke? You just said hello. [00:28:24] Speaker B: Oui. I say bonjour, and he laughs. I do not get it. [00:28:29] Speaker D: I see [00:28:33] Speaker C: I might have a new favorite npc. [00:28:37] Speaker A: Okay. Oh, boy. Or [00:28:47] Speaker D: hey, it's in canon already that you laugh at him. So. [00:29:04] Speaker A: It has been a long time. [00:29:17] Speaker B: Just so, my friend. But I see your sense of humor has changed. Not a bit. Sprint's dying over there. I'm crying. Oh, my God. [00:29:38] Speaker A: You have done well with yourself since I last saw. [00:29:46] Speaker B: This is my second location. I used to be down on the docks. No, that makes no sense. We're in the mountain, nowhere near any water. Metaphorically speaking, of course. This explains Uber's accent. [00:30:10] Speaker D: We've turned a five minute bit into a 45 minute recording session. [00:30:15] Speaker C: This is good. Keep going. [00:30:17] Speaker D: Keep all of this in. Don't cut a thing. [00:30:22] Speaker A: Yes, I imagine that your boat touring business wouldn't have done very well, but surprisingly, you're here. [00:30:32] Speaker B: And now I can live my dream of being a magical manufacturer of oddities. [00:30:38] Speaker D: I feel like I'm confused. [00:30:40] Speaker B: Nice to meet you. Confused. That is a little joke. What is your name? [00:30:46] Speaker D: Val. [00:30:48] Speaker B: Nice to meet you. I am. Or Hazelbottom, manufacturer of marvelous magical things. [00:30:56] Speaker D: Oh, hey. [00:30:56] Speaker C: Hey, Orn. [00:30:57] Speaker D: I thought you were a black. [00:30:58] Speaker B: Hello, Delilah. No, of course not. I do include a little bit of smithery in the work that I do, but the primary work is to imbue things with a magical sense and improve their function. [00:31:13] Speaker D: Oh, all right. [00:31:15] Speaker A: Oren used to be one of my students. [00:31:19] Speaker D: Ah, I see. [00:31:21] Speaker B: And I took his most boring class. No, I joke. This very interesting class. [00:31:28] Speaker A: To be perfectly honest, I'm not entirely certain what class he takes. [00:31:31] Speaker D: Took. [00:31:32] Speaker B: Neither am I. [00:31:36] Speaker D: That was good. That's funny. I like that. [00:31:38] Speaker B: I like you. [00:31:42] Speaker D: You. You seem all right. [00:31:43] Speaker B: I feel all right. I feel quite good seeing a new friend and an old friend and somebody who lives down the road. [00:31:51] Speaker C: Yeah, I come in every once in a while. Yeah, he makes good stuff. [00:31:56] Speaker D: She's Been helping us out. [00:31:58] Speaker A: It was actually your equipment that reminded me I could tell who did the work. [00:32:10] Speaker B: Well, then, I assume that you are in need of my services. One does not come halfway across the world for a simple cup of tea. No, [00:32:21] Speaker A: indeed not. I actually wished for you to appraise and perhaps see what you could do to upgrade my staff as I hand him my atmospheric staff. [00:32:34] Speaker B: But of course. Let me take a look here. It's a very simple design. [00:32:39] Speaker A: Well, [00:32:42] Speaker B: one moment he turns around and comes back over with like a jeweler's loop that has like, 17 lenses on it. He's just like, looking really close. He's like, what have you been doing to this? [00:32:56] Speaker A: I had it upgraded by an acquaintance on my travels. But even I can tell, though I have no real talent for craftsmanship, that what was done to it is unconventional at best. [00:33:17] Speaker B: Unconventional is one word for it, my friend. Imagine, if you will, a sword. Or maybe a hammer, perhaps let's say a hammer. A hammer made out of steel, Made to smash things, crush things. Hammer things? No. Imagine this hammer. Rather than being made out of steel with a flat head, this hammer just hammers things, requires no one to swing. Still, a hammer, yes, but not what we would think of. [00:33:47] Speaker A: And you're saying that such a aspect is in the staff? In what way? [00:33:56] Speaker B: Well, to put it simply, I would know how to create the staff that would grab hold of the magical essence in the area and bend it to the will of the wielder. But this is far beyond what I would know how to do. It's almost as if the staff itself just makes things happen without needing to tug or pull or convince anything. [00:34:25] Speaker A: It is a perfect conduit. [00:34:27] Speaker B: Then we. I mean, there are some small modifications I could make to the original underlying work, but whatever modifications you have made are far beyond what I could do. [00:34:40] Speaker A: I see. Then could you make those small modifications just to the original portion of the staff? [00:34:49] Speaker B: Well, I surely could, but I would require something in exchange. [00:34:57] Speaker A: What would you need? [00:34:59] Speaker B: The name of the craftsman who made this alteration. I must speak with him and see what a craft he works. I. I would love to be, perhaps tutored by him or her. I do not know. [00:35:15] Speaker D: That's weird, isn't that. [00:35:19] Speaker A: You wouldn't know. [00:35:20] Speaker D: I wouldn't know. I wouldn't know. Never mind. I take it all back. It's not weird at all. [00:35:27] Speaker A: U falls into thought. I can tell you the name of the craftsman. Whether or not you would be able to be tutored by them is another matter. They are very secretive in their work. [00:35:45] Speaker B: But of course, I expect no promises from you. Merely a name that I might reach out. I mean, if you have contact information, perhaps an address that would be appreciated it. [00:35:59] Speaker A: With a glance to Val. I can tell you their name. I'm afraid that I cannot produce anything else. [00:36:12] Speaker B: That is fine. That is all I will need. [00:36:17] Speaker A: Pilgrim. [00:36:18] Speaker B: Pilgrim? Indeed, Indeed. That's very strange. Strange name. Is this pilgrim a dwarf? No, a human. Then surely this is the work of no elf. [00:36:34] Speaker A: No, see, I cannot produce much more in the way of information. I do not have permission to do so. I, however, plan on meeting with him soon. [00:36:49] Speaker B: Oh, you do? [00:36:52] Speaker A: Perhaps I can suggest your wishes. [00:36:59] Speaker B: That would be much appreciated. He reaches under the desk and pulls out a thin piece of slate with his name and contact information etched into it. [00:37:09] Speaker A: U will take it. [00:37:11] Speaker B: I am working on the new concept. I call them cards of business. [00:37:19] Speaker A: I can see how that would. And he looks at it. What is this number? [00:37:27] Speaker B: Oh, that number. That is my address. It's a very long road. Yes, it takes 10 digits to tell you where to find my shop. [00:37:36] Speaker D: Like coordinates. [00:37:38] Speaker B: I do not know this word. Anyway, [00:37:44] Speaker A: when I see him, I will give it to him. What happens from there will be up to him. [00:37:51] Speaker B: But of course I expect nothing more. [00:37:54] Speaker A: Now, how much time do you think you will need? I'm afraid we do not have long. [00:38:00] Speaker B: If you give me perhaps two hours, [00:38:04] Speaker A: then perhaps I do have time for that tea. [00:38:09] Speaker B: Well then you'll have to make it three hours if I am to provide the tea. For there will be much talking and many biscuits shared. [00:38:20] Speaker A: I think we can wait for three. [00:38:23] Speaker D: Yeah, it should be fine. A little restful. [00:38:26] Speaker C: Just so long as you leave tonight. I think that would be best. [00:38:31] Speaker A: Then we will avail ourselves of your company. [00:38:35] Speaker B: In that case. Come in, Come in. Then he lifts up like one of those flaps on the counter and takes the open sign and flips it over to closed immediately. All of these little like force shackles lock down over all the items on display. And he takes you into the back of his shop. It's very cozy inside, very well lit. There's a stone hearth that's already got, you know, coals. And he sets a kettle on top and just starts homily chatting while he's getting tea going. And occasionally he'll come over and do some tinkering with these bizarre looking implements of magical attunement. [00:39:18] Speaker D: I was going to get like a towel or something, a wet cloth and just start like cleaning up all the like and like, like scorch marks on her face from all the Fire. [00:39:31] Speaker B: Oh, where are my manners? I. I can help you with that. And he waves his hand and prestigations. You clean. [00:39:38] Speaker D: Oh, thank you. [00:39:40] Speaker B: My apologies. I should have spoken up sooner. Does anyone else want cleaned? [00:39:45] Speaker C: I can do it to myself. And she'll wave her hand and I [00:39:48] Speaker A: feel like go doesn't have much of that. Cuz he was living fire for most of it. [00:39:52] Speaker B: Just burned off. [00:39:53] Speaker D: Yeah, I was going to be like her like face paint's like all gone from everything that's been happening. She's like. [00:39:59] Speaker B: It got prestigious. [00:40:01] Speaker D: She's going to sit down on the couch and kind of get her kid out to like start kind of working on re putting it all on. [00:40:09] Speaker A: Was that covering anything? [00:40:12] Speaker D: Her tattoo that she has like hameers. She has those two lines coming out of her eye. [00:40:18] Speaker A: Uvaire has no idea about this. Oh yeah, he does. [00:40:21] Speaker D: I've mentioned it. [00:40:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:40:23] Speaker D: I don't know. I don't know if you. Ugar has actually seen them before, but others have. [00:40:29] Speaker A: But I know about them. Presumably. I don't think we need to stay in this shop too long. [00:40:34] Speaker B: No, that's fine. We will. Scene change forward and we do like a time lapse where Orym is just going around, the light changes and we just kind of zoom out a little bit just to see a lantern moving across the the room. And three hours later, he presents you with your newly upgraded atmospheric staff. [00:40:57] Speaker D: Oh, nice. [00:40:59] Speaker B: It is the least I can do with you helping out around the place. I've heard. Excuse me, this voice is very uncomfortable on my throat. It is the least I can do with all that you've been telling me about stopping Fafnir. I mean, it's not an immediate concern here on Dark Hazmuk, but I'm sure his devastation would know no bounds once he's completed with the land of Lolinern Kings. Who's to say the rest of Avastan or Golarion itself will not fall to his ire? [00:41:33] Speaker A: And that is something we dearly wish to not let happen. [00:41:37] Speaker D: If you know anyone who could help us out or could find people that could help us for that, appreciate it. We got some people meeting up at Joel to kind of amass to help out. [00:41:48] Speaker B: I am not much of a warrior, I'm afraid, but I would be willing to lend my services in equipping those who would go into battle. [00:41:56] Speaker D: Oh, that should be nice. I know this place has probably got a lot of strong magicians and such. I don't know if anyone would be up to helping though. [00:42:05] Speaker B: But I will spread the Word you say meeting enjoy. [00:42:09] Speaker D: Yeah, we're getting some last stuff we need for the fight against Fafnir. And then everyone's kind of getting together and we're gonna try do our best. [00:42:20] Speaker B: And when do we expect the attack to be launched? [00:42:24] Speaker D: I like. How many more relics do you think I have to get in? [00:42:31] Speaker A: About three relics time, maybe a month. [00:42:34] Speaker D: Does that sound right there? Are we moving a lot faster than a month? We're all teleporting around. It's really hard to keep track of time. So much is happening so fast. [00:42:44] Speaker B: Honestly, I have no idea when you guys plan. [00:42:48] Speaker D: Is there a way for us to just get a hold of you? [00:42:51] Speaker B: Well, I do not know. Do you have any way of communicating over great distances? [00:42:57] Speaker A: Quite possibly. [00:42:59] Speaker D: Maybe we have some people that can teleport a thousand miles. [00:43:04] Speaker A: I can get in contact with you Orn. As it would be just a main teleport away. [00:43:11] Speaker B: Also sending has a range of planetary. [00:43:14] Speaker A: Yeah, I know, that's what I mean. [00:43:16] Speaker D: Also Delilah, invitation to you as well. You really good. And if you know anyone as well, be cool. [00:43:24] Speaker C: Yeah, I. I might be able to help. Well, we'll talk about it more as after we leave here. [00:43:34] Speaker D: Don't worry. Everyone's got an inciting incident before their life adventure begins [00:43:41] Speaker A: or. Thank you. I am happy to see that you are doing well. [00:43:46] Speaker B: But of course I am only too happy to see you so well as well. Now, if you don't mind my asking, you look well for your age. I know that's not the question, but the question that follows is what is your skin care regime? I would love to learn from you. I'm already getting these wrinkles and I do not like it. [00:44:08] Speaker D: He takes hours every morning. [00:44:13] Speaker A: Uwe smiles at the very innocent question. I see you have not changed at all. [00:44:21] Speaker B: Or I'm getting wrinkles. What are you talking about? [00:44:28] Speaker A: Whatever has caused me to not change so much in your eyes, I would not suggest that you try it. [00:44:39] Speaker B: Oh, this is that adventure stuff. You keep your curses away from me and gives you a friendly punch on the arm. [00:44:50] Speaker A: Yes, Owen, that is what I intend to do. Now I believe we must be going. Yes, before night has come. [00:45:03] Speaker B: In all seriousness and he puts his hand on your shoulder. Take care of yourself. [00:45:10] Speaker A: You as well, Orne. I hope to see you again. Perhaps with your third business. [00:45:17] Speaker B: I don't know this. I'm starting to slow down in my old age. Maybe I will just start a retirement community so I have somewhere to live. [00:45:28] Speaker A: Then perhaps when I am finished, I can come back and live in Such a community. [00:45:34] Speaker B: You would be most welcome, my friend. [00:45:38] Speaker A: Now we shall go. [00:45:42] Speaker B: And as the three of you head out of Orm's shop, where are you going next? [00:45:47] Speaker A: Teleporter. [00:45:48] Speaker B: Gotcha. It's honestly not a terribly long walk because Orm's shop was closer to the the hub, the center of Tarkazmuk, than all these twisty, windy libraries. So since you'd had the longer journey out and then journey back into Orm's shop, it's really maybe a 20 minute, 30 minute walk from there to get back to the teleporter hub. You know, people come from far and wide to Qtar Khasmuk and usually appear at the teleportation circle. So everything that's really worth seeing is right here at the teleportation circle. [00:46:23] Speaker A: Well, [00:46:26] Speaker C: I believe it is here that we part ways. [00:46:30] Speaker A: Indeed. And Delilah, thank you. If you had lived over a hundred years ago, I would have been happy to have you as a student. [00:46:42] Speaker C: Well, I already kind of consider you my teacher, considering how many of your books that I've read. But thank you. I have a lot of work to do cleaning up the mess that was left here, and also in stopping or preventing whatever else Ymiri might be scheming. But that is to say, I know you and your friends, your party, [00:47:13] Speaker A: have [00:47:14] Speaker C: bigger fish to fry. If I can be of assistance in any of that, you know where to find me. [00:47:24] Speaker A: And I can certainly get a hold of you if we need it. Val, are you ready? [00:47:33] Speaker D: Yeah, I think I am. It was great meeting you, Delilah. And Val's gonna go in for a hug. [00:47:40] Speaker C: She'll. She'll give you a hug. It was good to meet you too, Val. [00:47:43] Speaker D: Excellent. You'll. [00:47:44] Speaker C: You'll watch over him, won't you? [00:47:47] Speaker D: She'll put. She's gonna like, push away from the hug a second, put her hands on both of your shoulders, give a big, gleaming, bright smile, showing her one of her missing teeth in the front, and she's like, I'll certainly do my best. And I really hope to meet you again in good circumstances and not in the circumstance I might meet you again later on. [00:48:09] Speaker C: I wish that too. [00:48:11] Speaker D: That's great. [00:48:13] Speaker C: Well, best of luck. [00:48:17] Speaker D: Sorry, I realized I said something very ominous. But anyway, I do. [00:48:21] Speaker C: I understood what you meant. [00:48:22] Speaker D: Oh, thanks. Awesome. Yes, it's great meeting. [00:48:25] Speaker C: I would love to meet you under less threatening circumstances, either today or what may come tomorrow. [00:48:31] Speaker D: That's great. [00:48:33] Speaker A: We should go. Very surprising. A chuckle. [00:48:39] Speaker C: Best of luck. [00:48:39] Speaker D: Farewell. Thanks. [00:48:42] Speaker A: Right before Uver gets onto the teleportation pad. He pauses for a moment and looks back. Perhaps the Blue Warders could have a new research laboratory, perhaps dedicated to Orvus for aspiring new wizards. [00:49:07] Speaker C: I'll see what I can do. [00:49:10] Speaker A: And with that, he'll turn and walk up into the teleporter and look over to the. I'm assuming the first dwarf that we talked to. [00:49:22] Speaker B: Yes, it's the same guy again. [00:49:25] Speaker D: So we just head right back where we came from. [00:49:27] Speaker B: Then the Kalisgard, right? Cal's guard. I love my job. And he tunes the magic runes and gives you a nod. [00:49:39] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:49:43] Speaker B: Then the teleportation circle energizes and you disappear. And that's where we'll end this episode. All right. And before we get on to the hero point for this episode, I want to thank Harold for joining us for these last few episodes. [00:50:01] Speaker A: Episodes, Absolutely. [00:50:03] Speaker C: Well, thank you for having me. As I keep saying, I'm just happy to be here. And it's really, really awesome to be on this side of the table and not just a listener anymore. It's awesome. I had the time of my life. This is awesome. [00:50:14] Speaker B: It's been great. We also have other content that Harrow is. [00:50:18] Speaker C: That's right. You should go listen to Records of the Unknown on the Atomic Broadcasting Hour. I'm in season two of that. And season three will be coming out at some point, which I'm also in. I'm also in the Starfinder 2nd Edition playte that we did, which is also on that channel. Everything else that I've been in is on the broadcast, the Variety Hour. So you should go check out stuff over there. And as I mentioned before, also in our Patreon exclusive content, which is the pre modern Prometheus would recommend that that's canon to written in the Lost. It is. So if you want some extra lore and stuff, some stuff that isn't just in the main show, you should go over there and check that out. [00:51:02] Speaker B: Yes, but that's where we got on for now. Harold's been in some things. He's in some stuff that also hasn't released yet. [00:51:08] Speaker C: That's right. [00:51:09] Speaker B: And I'm sure you're gonna be in more things to come. [00:51:11] Speaker C: I'll keep coming as long as you keep inviting me. [00:51:13] Speaker B: So if you somehow made it this far in the show and you're kind of on the fence. You don't know if you like us, but you love Harold. [00:51:19] Speaker C: Yes. [00:51:19] Speaker B: Stick around for Harold. [00:51:21] Speaker C: Get on the discord. You heard me last episode. [00:51:24] Speaker A: Wait, you did something last episode? [00:51:26] Speaker B: No, I didn't hear him. [00:51:27] Speaker A: Last episode. [00:51:28] Speaker B: I don't know. Anyway, Sven, what do you have there in your hand? [00:51:33] Speaker A: Yeah, definitely looking at the hero point. I just picked up a hero point [00:51:37] Speaker B: awarded for all of your role playing is being like in your hometown and getting your staff upgraded in a narrative way. Is that what that is? [00:51:45] Speaker A: That's what I was told and I am very thankful for it. [00:51:56] Speaker B: What is happening over there? [00:51:57] Speaker C: Sam has not stopped staring at me since I did my plugs for the Discord and everything and other shows. [00:52:05] Speaker A: Thank you for the hairpoint. I'm gonna go see what they're doing. [00:52:11] Speaker B: Yeah, that seems prudent. Audience, we will see you all. Mostly probably hopefully most of us. Not all of us, but most of us. I don't know where I'm going with this. I'm gonna see you in the next episode. [00:52:21] Speaker A: Goodbye. [00:52:24] Speaker D: Goodbye. [00:53:22] Speaker C: I forgot to mention House on Valley Lane. Is that why you're upset? [00:53:25] Speaker D: No. [00:53:27] Speaker B: I thought about bringing that up explicitly, but then I was like, I'm not [00:53:30] Speaker C: credited in that one. [00:53:32] Speaker A: You're not credited.
