[00:00:05] Speaker A: You are listening to an atomic broadcasting production. So sit back, relax and enjoy the feature presentation. And remember, do your part. Such as like, comment rate and don't forget to tell a friend to tune in for an atomic time. [00:00:32] Speaker B: Now, where did we leave off? [00:00:36] Speaker A: Ah, yes. [00:00:39] Speaker B: The party decided to spend the night at the Kobold celebration in Troll Forge before heading out to the Storm King's Cloud castle the next morning. [00:00:54] Speaker C: And now for Jenkins dissertation on the Twilight Zone. [00:00:59] Speaker D: Oh, which episode? [00:01:01] Speaker C: This show is a hull. [00:01:02] Speaker D: The show is a whole. I can't do that. I don't remember most of the premise of this show. I realized last night, two nights ago, because me and my wife were gonna watch the Twilight Zone since I just got that box set. I don't like season three. She put in season three, disc one, and I like every episode. I was like, oh, this episode sucks. Let's move on to the next one. Oh, this one's awful too. Let's move on to the next one. Oh, this one's bad too. Let's move on to the next one. I don't know why, but I do not like season because it starts off and it's. It's an Adam and Eve story, essentially, and it's just poorly done and there's like a lot of misogyny in it. And it makes me feel uncomfortable for the first episode. The second episode is about an airplane that, like, the twist is that it just traveled through time. And it's not good, in my opinion. I forgot what the third episode was. But also, it's just like, this one's not that good. [00:01:52] Speaker E: Didn't Stephen King write a story about an airplane traveling through time? The Langoleers. [00:01:58] Speaker A: I'm not a king. [00:02:00] Speaker D: Good to know. [00:02:01] Speaker E: You're Sven, my friend. You're not Steven. Not in this house. [00:02:06] Speaker C: You've given that up now. [00:02:08] Speaker E: I remember seeing a movie called the Langoliers a long time ago on Sci Fi, a science fiction channel. It was about a plane that went through time and they were stuck in the past where it was getting eaten by the Langeliers. [00:02:22] Speaker C: That sounds kind of lame. [00:02:24] Speaker E: This is interesting for the time. [00:02:27] Speaker D: For the time. [00:02:28] Speaker E: There were really badly done effects. [00:02:31] Speaker A: That sounds. That's just Sci Fi. [00:02:33] Speaker D: Yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. [00:02:35] Speaker E: Well, I'm pretty sure it wasn't Sci Fi. Oh, do you mean like the genre? [00:02:39] Speaker A: No, I mean like the. [00:02:40] Speaker E: The channel. [00:02:41] Speaker A: Like, oftentimes they had things on there that was just like. [00:02:44] Speaker E: Well, I don't think they made it. I think somebody else did. [00:02:48] Speaker C: They disinherited it. [00:02:49] Speaker A: Granted, Sci fi had Stargate SG1. [00:02:52] Speaker C: So that is fair. Which is an amazing show. [00:02:56] Speaker A: Mm. [00:02:56] Speaker C: You know the guy who plays Teal' C's mentor was at a con I went to earlier this year. I can't remember his name. [00:03:09] Speaker D: Teal' C mentor. He just said it. [00:03:11] Speaker E: That's his name. Yeah, it's like al words. [00:03:14] Speaker D: Mom. [00:03:14] Speaker E: That's her name. [00:03:15] Speaker C: He was like. He was like an hour away from where we are right now. Like earlier this year. I got to see him. [00:03:21] Speaker D: Lucky. [00:03:22] Speaker C: Yeah, it was cool. It was over at the Neosho show. [00:03:25] Speaker F: Did you talk to him or did you just see him from afar? [00:03:27] Speaker C: I didn't. Olivia was there and she's a big SG1 fan, but she didn't want to like interact with it. [00:03:35] Speaker F: Did she get shy? [00:03:37] Speaker C: I guess. I don't know. There were some SG1 cosplayers and they were pretty cool. [00:03:41] Speaker A: Oh, neat. [00:03:41] Speaker C: I thought they're just military people. Then I looked again. I was like, wait, they have talking. [00:03:45] Speaker A: About sg one of the greatest sci fi shows ever made. Personal opinion. [00:03:54] Speaker E: Was it made by Sci Fi or like Tony Amand. [00:03:58] Speaker A: No, it's actually. [00:03:59] Speaker D: I'm a. I'm a tr. [00:04:00] Speaker A: It's the longest running sci fi show. [00:04:02] Speaker F: I'm attracted. Man, I can't. I tried watching SG1. [00:04:06] Speaker A: I can't. [00:04:06] Speaker F: I can't do it. I'm sorry. [00:04:09] Speaker C: Tony Amendola. [00:04:10] Speaker D: Why is it called one if it's still ongoing? [00:04:13] Speaker E: It's not SG. [00:04:14] Speaker C: That's the team. That's the team. It's SG1. There's. They're grouped into different groups, like four or five man teams. Already complicated. [00:04:24] Speaker D: One group of people. [00:04:26] Speaker C: Sometimes they team up. It's usually just SG1 though. [00:04:30] Speaker E: SG stands for Stargate. [00:04:31] Speaker A: Yes. [00:04:32] Speaker B: Star. [00:04:32] Speaker E: Stargate One. [00:04:33] Speaker A: Stargate One. Yeah. So the setup that they have is that there are different expeditionary groups. They're all SG1. SG2. SG3. The show obviously follows SG1. [00:04:48] Speaker D: Do they go through different Stargates? [00:04:50] Speaker C: No, they go through the same one Stargate. It has coordinates. [00:04:53] Speaker A: It has coordinates. You can go to different Stargate. [00:04:55] Speaker C: Yeah, you go to other Stargates. They just don't know what any of them are. So they go into 10 test and see what planets. Because humanity was spread across the cosmos like millions of years ago essentially. Or thousands, whatever. Because all the Egyptian gods are actually like worms that infest people. [00:05:14] Speaker B: If I'm following correctly. Then they are seeking out boldly going where man has gone before. [00:05:20] Speaker C: Yes. [00:05:20] Speaker A: Well, no, not man. [00:05:22] Speaker C: Well, some men, the worm men. There are humans and other planets. [00:05:26] Speaker A: They weren't humans. [00:05:27] Speaker C: There are actual humans. [00:05:29] Speaker A: There are actual humans. That's a weird argument. [00:05:30] Speaker D: That's my favorite. [00:05:33] Speaker C: Those Greek people who kept eating and falling asleep when the sun. [00:05:37] Speaker D: We're just gonna ignore them is when it's like no one's gone to this place before. And then you go and there are humans there. And it's like. [00:05:45] Speaker A: They actually explain that though. They do explain it. [00:05:48] Speaker C: They explain their little. [00:05:49] Speaker D: It is a trope, though, that just continuously happen. It makes me happy because it's like we didn't have the budget for makeup or anything. So just ignore the fact that these are human because they're not actual humans or something else that just. [00:05:59] Speaker A: You say that SG1 won so many awards for having some of the best CGI and makeup and stuff. [00:06:07] Speaker D: I wasn't talking about SG1. [00:06:09] Speaker A: We are. So we're just overriding what you were talking about. [00:06:12] Speaker C: I got that episode with that lady worm. I forget her name. And I was like, I'm gonna take a break. I'm gonna take a break. Which when she showed up and all the men were like, ah, I do what you say. You're a woman. And then the woman has to killed a woman slug. [00:06:28] Speaker A: Yeah, that one. That one's a pitch man. [00:06:31] Speaker E: Full circle massager. [00:06:35] Speaker A: Have you gotten to any SG1 fans? Will. Will know this. [00:06:41] Speaker B: And so on. Tripid performers talked about Stargate for a really long time. I'm not joking. It was a really, really long time. I don't think you understand how long they were talking about this. And the editor gave up trying to cut it down and decided to cut it out. Thank you and good night, shorty. [00:07:08] Speaker D: Save us. Nobody knows what they're talking about. [00:07:11] Speaker C: I know what I'm talking about. [00:07:12] Speaker E: Literally. [00:07:13] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:07:13] Speaker A: You're part of. [00:07:14] Speaker F: You and Stan are the only two. [00:07:16] Speaker A: We need to introduce you to. [00:07:17] Speaker F: Now. I've tried. I don't like it. [00:07:20] Speaker A: Oh, I don't like Star Trek. [00:07:22] Speaker F: No, that's fine. [00:07:24] Speaker A: No, that's fine. I actually do like Next Generation. [00:07:26] Speaker B: You know what I like? Pathfinder. You guys want to place a Pathfinder? [00:07:30] Speaker C: Can we play Starfinder? [00:07:33] Speaker B: Are you guys intending to walk to the mountain? [00:07:36] Speaker D: I thought we were teleporting. And then the bird was flying. [00:07:40] Speaker B: Because you need to have line of. [00:07:42] Speaker C: Sight to teleport, you have to be. [00:07:44] Speaker B: Able to identify the location precisely, both by its position relative to your starting position and by its appearance. So since it's been obscured by clouds, you don't know what it looks like. You can't go there. [00:07:57] Speaker C: Or else it's random, in which case, if we're off enough in our randomness. We might just be in the middle of the air. [00:08:03] Speaker B: All right, let's teleport to the castle. You are now underwater. [00:08:07] Speaker E: Wow. This is a wet sky castle. [00:08:10] Speaker F: Ew. [00:08:12] Speaker B: So, all that being said, I will not oppose you teleporting to the castle. I just want you to be aware of the consequences. [00:08:19] Speaker C: We could just travel there and teleport from there. That way we don't accidentally screw anything up. [00:08:24] Speaker A: We're walking. We're walking. [00:08:27] Speaker C: Kia walking. [00:08:28] Speaker B: So we begin walking with a walking montage. [00:08:32] Speaker C: A wantage. [00:08:33] Speaker B: A montage. [00:08:34] Speaker D: A wantage. [00:08:35] Speaker C: A watage. [00:08:36] Speaker B: It's like a wonton, but it's a montage of wontons. You are in a walking montage hiking through the foothills of the Kudar Mountains. Down south, further into the summer melt valley. The weather's nice. It's midsummer now. [00:08:51] Speaker A: Don't, don't, don't do too many explanations. I'm thinking Oregon Trail to keep the budget low. [00:08:55] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:08:57] Speaker D: Can I go? [00:09:00] Speaker B: All right. Who's getting dysentery? [00:09:04] Speaker D: I got bit by a rattlesnake. It's nice knowing you guys. [00:09:08] Speaker C: I sprained my ankle. I'm dead. [00:09:10] Speaker B: It is not really that long of a journey, all things said and done. From where you began to get to the base of this mountain where you saw the cloud, it's probably like a three, three and a half hour hike to get there. When you reach the bottom of this mountain, though, looking up, this cloud is still somewhat oddly perched at the top of the peak. And who has the best perception score? [00:09:40] Speaker F: Probably not me. [00:09:41] Speaker C: 18. [00:09:42] Speaker F: Samesies. [00:09:43] Speaker E: 18, 20, 19. [00:09:46] Speaker B: So Uwe, with his eagle like eyes, sees coming out of the base of that cloud is some like a twinkling thread of metal, which you can see from about two miles away. [00:10:05] Speaker A: I want this guy's vision. It appears that if we climb high enough, we might be able to just climb up a rope of indeterminate but shiny material. [00:10:22] Speaker D: That's good. [00:10:23] Speaker C: Should be fine. [00:10:24] Speaker D: I don't know if I can climb, but we'll figure it out. [00:10:27] Speaker F: Do you have a climbing speed? [00:10:28] Speaker D: I'm not very strong. [00:10:30] Speaker C: Sigourne is here. [00:10:32] Speaker F: Never fear. Sigourne is here also. [00:10:35] Speaker C: I could carry you. Maybe I could fly. Oh, all right, you can fly. [00:10:40] Speaker F: He has a fly spell, don't you? [00:10:43] Speaker D: Yeah, but Uvair wasn't there. Neither was Einar. [00:10:47] Speaker C: Sven? [00:10:49] Speaker D: Yes. Oh, it's. It's sort of like picking myself up with a. My mind. [00:10:56] Speaker C: Does it feel like a hug? [00:10:58] Speaker D: Kind of. It feels like. Yeah, Yeah. A little bit Nice. [00:11:01] Speaker A: I've never heard of magic described that. [00:11:03] Speaker C: Way, but I remember it's from his. [00:11:06] Speaker D: Brain, just sitting there, nodding. [00:11:12] Speaker C: So when we get there, it's presuming there's a storm king and a bunch of giants all about, what is the plan to get the crown situation. [00:11:24] Speaker F: I could charm everybody. [00:11:27] Speaker C: That's not a bad idea. [00:11:29] Speaker D: I honestly didn't expect anyone to be in the castle. [00:11:32] Speaker A: Oh, Jordy, really? History check on how friendly these giants have historically been? [00:11:40] Speaker F: I didn't answer that. [00:11:42] Speaker B: Oh, what's your society bonus? [00:11:44] Speaker A: If I remember right, 21. [00:11:48] Speaker B: So, historically speaking, the storm king's castle has been held by a variety of different storm giants. Some of them have been quite friendly and completely ignored the mortal world. And others have been hell bent on domination. But the castle did sort of disappear from common understanding of anybody knowing where it was several decades ago. So who knows who's in possession of the castle now, and if it even is giants. [00:12:21] Speaker A: We can try. [00:12:22] Speaker C: We can try. [00:12:23] Speaker A: Oftentimes, though, it would be difficult to try and persuade the king to give up his crown, especially one that controls his home. [00:12:32] Speaker C: Well, if he has a crown, we could just ask him to. To help the fight, right? We don't technically need to take control of the castle ourselves if we can become friendly with whoever currently controls it. [00:12:45] Speaker A: Have they ever been allies with Fafnir? [00:12:49] Speaker B: Not that you're aware of, no. [00:12:50] Speaker C: The hope is that the whole Fafnir destroy the world thing would help guide them to help us. I don't imagine a lot of bad guys probably don't like the idea of Fafnir destroying things. [00:13:03] Speaker A: Or they might consider that they can just run where they have a floating castle and an entire world. [00:13:10] Speaker C: I don't know. Just thoughts. It'd probably be better than if we just went in there and started lopping off heads. [00:13:18] Speaker E: It really depends on how they react to us. [00:13:22] Speaker D: Am I the only one who speaks Jotun? [00:13:24] Speaker C: I feel like I speak Yotin. [00:13:25] Speaker D: Okay, good. [00:13:26] Speaker C: Wait. I speak. Yet. [00:13:32] Speaker B: As you continue to climb higher up this peak, you begin to notice that the ground itself becomes a little less rugged and a little more. For lack of a better term, it's terraced. Almost as if, like large stairs of earth. [00:13:51] Speaker D: An ancient staircase hold a potion real fast. [00:13:55] Speaker C: A potion? I don't have any potions. [00:13:57] Speaker D: Who has a potion to give to Val? [00:13:59] Speaker C: Why do I need a potion? [00:14:01] Speaker D: You never know. [00:14:02] Speaker E: What type of potion? [00:14:03] Speaker D: Does it need to be a healing potion? [00:14:05] Speaker C: There's lots of different kinds of potions. [00:14:07] Speaker D: I thought we bought healing potions. [00:14:09] Speaker C: Guys, no, I'VE just got this. 866 gold pieces. No healing potions. I usually just put my hand on myself. [00:14:21] Speaker F: I have a lesser healing potion. Just one, though. Do you want it? Why am I giving it to her? [00:14:27] Speaker D: That's. Just hold it real fast. [00:14:29] Speaker F: Me? [00:14:30] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah, it's fine. I'm going to take out my staff and it's just going to disappear after I do like a minute of chanting. [00:14:38] Speaker F: Where'd it go? I paid my good money for that. [00:14:40] Speaker D: It'll arrive when needed. [00:14:42] Speaker B: What? [00:14:43] Speaker D: It's in the future time. [00:14:46] Speaker C: Well, I thought you weren't going to do the time stuff on account of all the bad things that are happening based on the time stuff. [00:14:52] Speaker D: I'm not altering the time. I am just sending that to where we need it. [00:14:55] Speaker E: Well, if you consider. [00:14:56] Speaker F: Well, how do you know when we need it? [00:14:58] Speaker D: I'm assuming future Howard would know that. [00:15:02] Speaker F: Okay. [00:15:03] Speaker C: Oh, boy. [00:15:04] Speaker A: Don't look at me. I don't know much about time wizards. [00:15:08] Speaker C: That's fair. [00:15:10] Speaker B: As you continue to make your way up, the ground is continually getting more tamed to the point where it's almost appearing, shall we say, trampled. But then, as you round a corner and the trees clear from your view, just before you would actually pass the tree line and get to the top of this peak, you see what Uwe had seen from the ground level now no longer obscured by any landscape or trees. And there is a massive chain that's probably about 5ft wide that's just extending up from the peak into the clouds. [00:15:48] Speaker C: How thin of a chain? [00:15:50] Speaker A: 5Ft wide. [00:15:52] Speaker C: So is that like this or is it like the circumference of the circular. [00:15:56] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, I see what you're saying. So the loops themselves are about five feet wide. And then the gauge of the chain, like how thick the metal is. [00:16:04] Speaker C: Sure, yeah. [00:16:05] Speaker B: You wouldn't be able to close your hand around them. Oh, cool. [00:16:08] Speaker F: So we can't use it as a ladder. [00:16:10] Speaker B: You would be able to like loop your hand in, but you can't close your hands around them. Lets say 8 inches in diameter. [00:16:17] Speaker F: I mean, these are giants we're talking about. [00:16:19] Speaker D: How tall is the each link? No, like, how far up does it go? [00:16:24] Speaker B: Oh, hard to tell. It's disappearing into the clouds. But it disappears out of your view about a hundred feet off the ground, off the peak. [00:16:31] Speaker D: I hate this. [00:16:33] Speaker C: Do you want me to hold my hand? [00:16:36] Speaker D: I can't climb if I'm holding your hand. [00:16:38] Speaker C: Do you want to get on my back? [00:16:40] Speaker D: No. [00:16:40] Speaker C: Okay. [00:16:41] Speaker F: You're not as strong as I know. [00:16:42] Speaker C: I'm still stronger than an average man. [00:16:45] Speaker E: But you're not an average man. [00:16:47] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm stronger than him. [00:16:50] Speaker D: It's fine. [00:16:51] Speaker A: Okay. [00:16:52] Speaker C: All right, well, anyone need to do anything before we walk up? [00:16:58] Speaker B: I'll assume at this point you're like, you've made it to that peak and you're at the base of the chain where the chain comes down. And is it appears to actually be chained to the mountain itself. Like there's no anchor or something. It just goes into a loop of iron that just disappears into the top of the peak. [00:17:16] Speaker C: Oh, cool. [00:17:18] Speaker F: Who wants to go first? [00:17:19] Speaker C: I'll go first. [00:17:20] Speaker F: Okay. [00:17:20] Speaker C: I've done some similar things in the past. [00:17:23] Speaker D: Oh, I don't like that. [00:17:24] Speaker C: Oh, it's a nice image. Sigourn will be floating below us just in case anyone falls. [00:17:31] Speaker E: Man, I hope we don't fall off the chain. [00:17:35] Speaker B: That's so interesting at all of the reactions that people got when I changed maps. [00:17:40] Speaker E: Oh yeah, got to mention that. [00:17:42] Speaker A: Where does the chain go? [00:17:43] Speaker D: Groaning into the sky. [00:17:45] Speaker B: It goes into the clouds. [00:17:47] Speaker A: Oh, okay. But we can't see beyond the clouds. [00:17:49] Speaker B: Yeah, the cloud begins about 100ft away from you. [00:17:55] Speaker C: You gonna be all right over there climbing up the chain? [00:18:01] Speaker A: I'll be slow, but I'll be alright. [00:18:04] Speaker C: Alright. If you're going to fall, yell and Sigurd will catch you. [00:18:11] Speaker E: Is this a bad time to tell you that I've recently discovered my fear of heights? [00:18:16] Speaker C: Would you like to ride on Sigourn's back? [00:18:21] Speaker E: Yes. [00:18:23] Speaker C: Alright, you can do that. So that's all right. [00:18:27] Speaker B: So what order are those who are climbing? Climbing. [00:18:31] Speaker C: I will go first. [00:18:33] Speaker D: Seeing Zafir get on the Raven somehow makes outward question every decision he's ever made. [00:18:38] Speaker C: Wait. Should I go first or should I go? Nah, because then if you fall, I could catch you if you're above me. [00:18:44] Speaker D: But then you would also fall. [00:18:46] Speaker C: Maybe. Okay, I'll go first. [00:18:48] Speaker B: And then who's second? [00:18:50] Speaker F: I'll go, I guess. [00:18:53] Speaker C: And we don't know who's third. [00:18:54] Speaker D: I look at Uvair and I'm like, after you, friend. I fear I will be slower than yourself. [00:19:02] Speaker A: One thing Uver is going to do before he starts climbing is you hear a mutter, a quick incantation, and suddenly you just see for a moment a shield of energy cover him as he casts mage armor on himself. It's fair he lasts the day he starts climbing. [00:19:21] Speaker B: All right. What is everybody's athletics bonuses? [00:19:25] Speaker C: 22. [00:19:26] Speaker F: Oh, gosh. I don't want to tell you. [00:19:31] Speaker C: I was born for this baby. [00:19:33] Speaker F: Congratulations. [00:19:35] Speaker D: Did he say athletics? [00:19:36] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:37] Speaker F: I know. [00:19:38] Speaker B: Oh. Albert, what is your athletics 100? [00:19:43] Speaker C: It's zero, Jordy. How do I do a complete. How do I make a challenge for casters climb? [00:19:50] Speaker E: Zafir, does it matter? [00:19:52] Speaker B: What Is your athletics bonus? [00:19:54] Speaker E: 17. I'm on a bird. But you know, that's true. [00:19:57] Speaker B: That's true. I just want to make sure I. [00:19:58] Speaker D: Would have solutions to this, But I don't know how long we're gonna be climbing. [00:20:02] Speaker B: Uvair zero. That's fair and near us. [00:20:07] Speaker F: Subtract 20 from vals. [00:20:09] Speaker B: So just a two. Yes. Okay. [00:20:11] Speaker E: Oh, no. I think I know what's gonna happen. I think I know what's gonna happen. [00:20:15] Speaker F: Everyone falls except for Val. All my friends, my friends, my friends. Don't ask me what your sacrifice was. [00:20:29] Speaker C: For, what this giant chain was for. I didn't listen to Aver's explanation. [00:20:35] Speaker B: So Val definitely doesn't even need to roll to succeed on this. [00:20:41] Speaker C: Wait, what's the DC Bone Pit again? [00:20:43] Speaker D: Oh, no. [00:20:44] Speaker B: It's only 15. [00:20:45] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. [00:20:46] Speaker B: Are you. [00:20:47] Speaker F: Are you rolling our athletics checks, Jordy? [00:20:51] Speaker C: No. It shouldn't be secret. [00:20:52] Speaker B: No, it doesn't. It doesn't have to be secret, but Jenkins is right for alward and u. They have a 75% chance of not getting anywhere. [00:21:08] Speaker F: Everyone just start crying right now. [00:21:11] Speaker B: So I imagine Val just starts climbing the chain, and she's just making progress, and the others are just watching her go. [00:21:20] Speaker F: Zafir and Val are the only two that are safe right now. [00:21:25] Speaker E: You say safe, but we're the ones going up there. [00:21:28] Speaker D: Do the rolls in order of who's climbing. [00:21:30] Speaker F: I already made my first roll. [00:21:32] Speaker B: What's your first roll, Nero? 17. Oh, so Neros is keeping pace. Well, not keeping pace with Val because she fast, but Neros is climbing at a respectable pace. [00:21:41] Speaker F: If we critical fail, do we fall off the chain? [00:21:45] Speaker B: Yes. [00:21:46] Speaker C: I got a 38. [00:21:48] Speaker D: You don't have to roll, Val. [00:21:50] Speaker B: You can move. What is that, 5, 15ft? Because the way it works is if you succeed, you go 5ft. If you crit succeed, you go an extra 5. And if you're faster, you go an extra 5. For every 20ft you are over 20ft. [00:22:05] Speaker C: I'll just keep rolling and go faster than everyone three times. [00:22:09] Speaker F: That's not very nice, Uver. [00:22:11] Speaker A: You don't like your character, do you? [00:22:14] Speaker D: I love my character. [00:22:15] Speaker A: So do I. My character's gonna die. [00:22:17] Speaker C: There's a bird that'll pick you up. [00:22:19] Speaker A: The bird that's currently carrying another person. [00:22:23] Speaker D: What'd you get? [00:22:26] Speaker A: It's an at 20. [00:22:27] Speaker F: Yeah. [00:22:30] Speaker B: So Uber climbs and he overtakes Neros and has to slow down. [00:22:35] Speaker C: He swings to the other side of the chair. [00:22:38] Speaker F: There's only room for one person on this link. [00:22:41] Speaker B: You go away. [00:22:43] Speaker D: Alward, I rolled a nine. [00:22:46] Speaker F: Oh, no. [00:22:47] Speaker B: So Alward, much like me at the gym, grabs something and tries to lift himself up and then drops back down again. [00:22:54] Speaker F: Alward, come on, buddy. You've got it. [00:22:57] Speaker D: I rolled a 12 for my second action. [00:23:00] Speaker C: Listen, I'd like to point out there was a low level adventure we ran that had a rope climb and we wasted so much time cuz no one could succeed the rope climb. [00:23:11] Speaker B: We sure did. [00:23:12] Speaker D: Hold on. [00:23:13] Speaker B: It sure would be a waste of time if the only thing happening here was climbing. [00:23:18] Speaker F: I got a 21 for my second roll. [00:23:21] Speaker B: Sven, you said hold on. [00:23:23] Speaker A: I was going to roll again. [00:23:24] Speaker B: Oh, okay. [00:23:26] Speaker A: That's. That is what we're doing, right? [00:23:28] Speaker B: Yeah, sure. [00:23:31] Speaker C: Jody's like, please just stop trying to climb and do your other things. [00:23:35] Speaker B: 8. Okay, so you don't fall because that's not a critical failure. But at this point, Val has continued on up the chain. Neros is still moving, and Rivera's made a little bit of the ways up. He had to slow down when he was about to run into Neros and he's struggling to reach his stride. And Albert is still on the ground. [00:23:55] Speaker C: I do have a question whilst I'm climbing and I have time to look around because this is very easy for me. Do I notice any, like, is this any contraptions or any additional things that aren't just this to like, get up? [00:24:08] Speaker B: Yeah. So, Val, you look up at your destination, you look down at your friends trying to climb the chain underneath you, and you look back up again like you're trying to find some kind of contraption or something you could use to help them. And up through the clouds, a portion of the clouds starts moving a little bit and you can see a massive bucket. [00:24:32] Speaker C: Oh. [00:24:34] Speaker B: And as you're looking at that, that portion of the cloud moves and starts drifting down and starts drifting towards you all on the chain. [00:24:42] Speaker C: Oh, the big bucket. [00:24:43] Speaker B: No, the cloud. [00:24:45] Speaker C: Oh, hey, everyone. Hey. I climbed down a little bit to get closer to the show off. So a couple of things. One, that clouds moving towards us. Two, there's just a big bucket. I could go up and lower. You guys want to climb? [00:25:05] Speaker A: What's Val say something about a cloud and bucket. [00:25:14] Speaker C: Okay, she's gonna try and like very. Her arms get like. She's just trying to like, mime it to Albert. [00:25:22] Speaker D: She's hanging on. [00:25:23] Speaker A: She's hanging Onto the chain with her thighs. [00:25:25] Speaker C: Yeah, she's mime. She just loops her legs and she's hanging upside down. [00:25:29] Speaker F: She's just like girl with quads. [00:25:33] Speaker E: I'm going to direct Sigurd down. Flying down to alward and relay the. [00:25:37] Speaker A: How about we just tell Sigurd to go up and get the pocket? [00:25:42] Speaker C: Hey, Sigurd, go do that. Go take a look. [00:25:45] Speaker E: Actually, yeah, could we do that? [00:25:47] Speaker A: You also have a scout. [00:25:48] Speaker C: You and Zafir go up there. [00:25:50] Speaker E: We could go up there? Yeah. [00:25:51] Speaker F: Zafir, you also have Rusta for that. You have Rusta first send a scout. [00:25:55] Speaker E: Yeah, but it would take the same amount of time pretty much. Right. [00:25:59] Speaker A: Oh, to scout. [00:26:01] Speaker E: So I think all three of us should just. [00:26:03] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:26:04] Speaker E: Fly up there and take a look. [00:26:05] Speaker C: You three go up there. You other three, you might climb down in case this cloud's about to do something very terrible to us. [00:26:12] Speaker F: Do we have to make climb checks again to climb down? [00:26:15] Speaker C: Just jump. Just jump. You're like, what, 10ft up? [00:26:18] Speaker A: 15. [00:26:19] Speaker F: 19. [00:26:20] Speaker C: 19Ft. [00:26:21] Speaker F: No, that was my roll. [00:26:23] Speaker B: Well, well, Sam does have a point. Since you guys only made it like 10ft up, you can drop while taking. Well, no, you would take like three damage. [00:26:32] Speaker F: I don't want to take damage. [00:26:33] Speaker B: But you did roll successfully high enough. Can't they just slide? And u. You were only 10. You were only 5ft up, so you take no damage Dropping. [00:26:41] Speaker C: Was I with that because Neros was above you, you couldn't pass? [00:26:44] Speaker A: No, I just dropped. [00:26:45] Speaker B: Stuck behind Nero. [00:26:46] Speaker C: I love that idea. Like, Nero's got 10ft. He got five. And then I try to get anything, but like, u is right in his way. He can't even. [00:26:59] Speaker B: So as you all get back down off of the chain and Sigurd and Zafir start flying up to the castle, that portion of cloud that detached off is still drifting further down. And as you're watching, it kind of starts moving around a little bit and starts to take on the shape of an elephant. [00:27:20] Speaker C: Oh, cool. [00:27:22] Speaker F: Okay. [00:27:24] Speaker E: Do I see the elephant from my point of view? [00:27:26] Speaker B: You do. [00:27:26] Speaker E: Okay. [00:27:27] Speaker B: Yeah. Even looks like an elephant from your direction. [00:27:30] Speaker D: Accounting lore. One elephant. [00:27:32] Speaker A: I draw my staff, one action. [00:27:35] Speaker C: Could I try and learn what this is? [00:27:38] Speaker B: Sure. Go ahead and tell me what your arcana or nature bonus is. [00:27:43] Speaker C: My nature is 15, just like my music lore. [00:27:50] Speaker B: It's a cloud. It definitely looks. It's a cloud that is shaped three dimensionally like an elephant. [00:27:56] Speaker F: Can I roll something? [00:27:57] Speaker B: What's your arcana or nature? [00:27:59] Speaker F: Arcana 18. [00:28:01] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. That's better than mine. [00:28:03] Speaker B: Yep. Sure is. A three dimensional elephant cloud. [00:28:07] Speaker F: It's a high dc. Or he's rolling terribly. [00:28:10] Speaker B: In fact, I'll show you a picture. It looks like this. [00:28:12] Speaker C: That's Jordy. He's probably just rolling really bad. Oh, my goodness. That's a very elephant. [00:28:17] Speaker E: I couldn't tell which he was gonna have to fight. [00:28:19] Speaker F: A cloud elephant. [00:28:20] Speaker C: He's spraying water. Cloud. [00:28:24] Speaker A: Detect magic. [00:28:26] Speaker B: You detect no magic within 30ft of you. [00:28:29] Speaker D: Oh, wait, that down. [00:28:31] Speaker A: Dang it. [00:28:32] Speaker C: Dang it, Jody. [00:28:34] Speaker B: As you're watching the cloud, elephant's trunk begins to lower towards you. [00:28:39] Speaker C: Oh, maybe it's gonna, like, pick us up. [00:28:42] Speaker F: I doubt it. [00:28:43] Speaker C: I will draw my weapon just to be safe. [00:28:45] Speaker B: It continues to just drift down towards you with its elephant trunk facing you. [00:28:51] Speaker C: Huh. Okay, so in this situation, what do we do? You guys are magic people, right? [00:29:03] Speaker F: I mean, I've never seen anything like this. [00:29:06] Speaker C: It's a weird glad moving. [00:29:07] Speaker A: Right? I. I make the same check to see if I recognize it. Arcana plus 24. [00:29:15] Speaker B: You recognize this Uber? [00:29:17] Speaker C: Thank you. [00:29:19] Speaker B: This is what the scholars would call a picture in clouds. It's not as stupid as it sounds. It is not merely an illusion of an elephant made out of clouds. It is a saloon. [00:29:38] Speaker F: A what? [00:29:39] Speaker B: A simulacrum of an elephant made out of clouds. [00:29:42] Speaker F: Can you. Can you define what that is? For the rest of us that don't. [00:29:46] Speaker D: Have a high vocabulary of an image of a elephant shaped of a cloud. [00:29:50] Speaker B: So most people, when cloud gazing, look up and go, oh, wow, that. That cloud looks like an elephant. And it's just, you know, pareidolia. You're just. You're just seeing something there. It's not really there. Yeah. In this case, the cloud has shaped itself intentionally to look like an elephant because this is not just a cloud. It is an air elemental. [00:30:11] Speaker F: Oh. [00:30:12] Speaker A: Oh. [00:30:16] Speaker C: Alward. You speak lots of languages, right? [00:30:19] Speaker B: Uwe? This is a level 13 creature. What would you like to know? [00:30:23] Speaker F: Oh, gosh. [00:30:25] Speaker C: What level is it? [00:30:26] Speaker B: Level 1313. [00:30:27] Speaker C: Wow. Seems like a fight was designed in line. [00:30:32] Speaker A: We're going to go with what do you want, resistances or immunities? [00:30:36] Speaker C: Why are you looking at me? I don't know. [00:30:40] Speaker F: You usually have an opinion. [00:30:41] Speaker C: Well, I mean, special abilities would probably just be helpful in this situation, to be honest. [00:30:49] Speaker A: That work? [00:30:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:50] Speaker F: I'm sorry, the last one that was so mumbled. Special abilities would be great in the situation, to be honest. [00:30:56] Speaker A: Yeah, well, we'll go with special abilities because special abilities. [00:31:00] Speaker B: Jordy for 100 and special abilities for 100. A picture in clouds is known for a Its ability to take on an elephant form. B, its ability to take on an eagle form. C, its ability to take on a sword form. Or D, it can switch between any of the above. [00:31:24] Speaker A: D. We're gonna go with D. We can take on anything above. That is what is anything above? [00:31:30] Speaker C: Imagine if this thing. What's this thing called again? [00:31:33] Speaker B: A picture in class. [00:31:34] Speaker C: Imagine this picture in cloud could only turn into an elephant like that. Why would you call it that? That'd be such a terrible name. [00:31:41] Speaker F: So it can turn into a sword, an eagle, or an elephant. [00:31:46] Speaker B: Indeed. And currently it is an elephant. [00:31:48] Speaker F: I never would have known. [00:31:49] Speaker B: We're gonna go ahead and roll initiative. [00:31:54] Speaker C: You got this, Zafir? [00:31:55] Speaker B: I'm gonna go ahead and ask. I don't know why I'm asking with this kind of odds, but. Zafir, are you gonna stick around and help with the picture in clouds, or are you gonna go get the bucket? [00:32:04] Speaker E: Well, after I see the trunk kind of aiming down, actually. How far up are they? [00:32:10] Speaker A: We're on the ground. We're on the ground. [00:32:12] Speaker B: And Val, are you on the ground as well? [00:32:14] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:32:14] Speaker B: Okay. Yeah, they're all on the ground. [00:32:16] Speaker E: Oh, so you're all on the ground. Okay, well, I'm not worried about you because you can, you know. [00:32:20] Speaker C: Exactly. [00:32:20] Speaker E: Run. I'm just gonna keep going. [00:32:22] Speaker F: Okay, he's abandoning us. [00:32:27] Speaker A: Can I keep my arcana check for my initiative? [00:32:29] Speaker B: Sure. You said your bonus was 24, right? [00:32:32] Speaker A: I did. [00:32:34] Speaker F: Neros35alward. [00:32:39] Speaker D: I foregoed my initiative, so I got a 20. [00:32:42] Speaker C: Would it be for Went for went. [00:32:44] Speaker B: I for won't would his initiative severe? [00:32:48] Speaker E: Yeah, I didn't know I needed to. Okay. [00:32:50] Speaker B: Okay, I'll come back to you, Val. [00:32:53] Speaker C: I rolled a natural 20, so 38. Assuming I'm just using perception. [00:32:57] Speaker B: Yeah, and we'll just get Zafir's initiative just in case he needs to get involved. [00:33:02] Speaker E: Yeah, I was checking to see. It's perception, right? [00:33:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:33:05] Speaker E: 23. [00:33:06] Speaker B: All right, so we begin now with Uvaire. At this point, the. The picture in clouds is just about 40ft above you along that chain that's kind of extending at an angle into the sky. Uvair, what would you like to do? [00:33:26] Speaker A: I'm going to. He's 40ft up. [00:33:31] Speaker B: Yes. You know, out of range of 30 foot range spells. [00:33:37] Speaker A: No kidding. [00:33:38] Speaker C: I don't have very many ranged options, surprisingly. [00:33:43] Speaker A: Give me a will save. [00:33:45] Speaker B: A will save. [00:33:46] Speaker E: Yes. [00:33:48] Speaker C: I almost took the feat to. Let me pray. [00:33:50] Speaker A: DC30. I didn't take regular success warriors regret. [00:33:56] Speaker C: Nice. [00:33:57] Speaker A: So at the end of your next Turn. You're going to take 1d8 damage per different creature. It intentionally damaged on that turn. Turn. [00:34:04] Speaker C: It's such a niche, but very satisfying spell. [00:34:09] Speaker B: A single cloud tear forms in the elephant cloud's eyes and that. [00:34:14] Speaker A: Oh, and I'm going to move away from the party. [00:34:19] Speaker C: But if it doesn't aoe, you'll deal more damage to it. [00:34:24] Speaker B: So. So there's a bit of, like, a plateau here at the top of the peak. Are you wanting to move to the north side, or where are you gonna go? [00:34:31] Speaker C: North. [00:34:32] Speaker B: Okay. All right, Val. [00:34:35] Speaker C: Okay. [00:34:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:34:39] Speaker C: I have one way to deal damage to this thing. [00:34:42] Speaker A: Technically, my way was peaceful. It won't hurt them unless it hurts us. [00:34:45] Speaker C: So you said it was 50ft away, right? [00:34:47] Speaker B: 40Ft away. [00:34:49] Speaker C: I have no way to damage this. I'm going to climb 10ft up. [00:34:56] Speaker B: Okay, go ahead and make a climb check just to make sure that you can get that way. Yeah. [00:35:01] Speaker A: Jordy would I know with my check if those. If these things are inherently hostile. [00:35:08] Speaker B: In their home plane, on the plane of air, they're kind of just, like, chill, just drift around kind of guys. To find one here on the material plane means someone has summoned it, and it's probably doing the will of whoever summoned it. [00:35:20] Speaker C: They don't have banishment, and it's probably. [00:35:22] Speaker A: Not to pick us up. [00:35:23] Speaker B: You never know. He might be the steward. [00:35:27] Speaker C: Geez, imagine Jordi doing all this just to, like, give us a ride. [00:35:31] Speaker D: I would love that. I would love that so much. [00:35:33] Speaker A: I'm a butler, sir, since I buttle. [00:35:36] Speaker C: What do you. I buttle, sir. [00:35:38] Speaker B: All right, val, you are 10ft up the chain. [00:35:42] Speaker C: Can it give me a will save? [00:35:44] Speaker B: Sure. [00:35:45] Speaker C: I'm going to attempt to give it a Crisis of Faith. [00:35:50] Speaker B: Nat20. [00:35:51] Speaker C: Okay, well, anyway, that's my turn. [00:35:52] Speaker B: This cloud elephant has unshakable faith in air. [00:35:56] Speaker C: He could have been cool. [00:35:58] Speaker B: Speaking of being cool, this cloud elephant is gonna drift down to where I don't. I don't want to kill Val right now. [00:36:12] Speaker C: What do you mean? I'm not gonna die. [00:36:15] Speaker A: You climbed. [00:36:16] Speaker D: No, she. She climbed back down. [00:36:18] Speaker C: I climbed 10ft up the rope. I'm fine. [00:36:21] Speaker D: You climbed 15. [00:36:22] Speaker C: I'm gonna be fine, Jordan. I don't know why you're concerned. [00:36:24] Speaker D: Well, we are on a giant. [00:36:26] Speaker A: It's a. Possibly a level 13. [00:36:28] Speaker C: So what are you concerned about something it's gonna do to me? Yeah, what can it do to me that's gonna kill me instantly? [00:36:33] Speaker B: It's gonna drift down to where it's just about level with you, and then it's going to just gust air at you on the chain. [00:36:42] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:36:42] Speaker C: Oh, I'm fine. [00:36:44] Speaker A: Oh. [00:36:44] Speaker B: So it's got to make a strike check. [00:36:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:36:47] Speaker A: Oh, I see. You're on a cliff, bud. [00:36:50] Speaker C: Yeah. 5. [00:36:51] Speaker B: 32 to hit. [00:36:54] Speaker C: Listen, every. Every session, it's. That's exactly my ac. Every time. You always hit. Exactly. Every time. I keep getting it higher and higher as the tank. And you roll it the same number. [00:37:07] Speaker A: Does he take damage? [00:37:08] Speaker B: He does. [00:37:09] Speaker A: Warping pull. It's a reaction. An effect would deal damage to an ally within range 30ft. I get an ally out of danger with a teleporting pull. I pull the target to an unoccupied square up to 10ft closer to me. [00:37:24] Speaker D: Nice. [00:37:24] Speaker A: And you gain resistance 5 to all damage against the triggering effect. [00:37:30] Speaker B: Okay. [00:37:31] Speaker C: I got friends in low places. [00:37:35] Speaker B: So after taking that resistance 5 into account, then you take 14 bludgeoning damage, and you feel your grip on the chain starting to loosen against the heavy winds that are buffeting you and then suddenly just disappear and reappear back on the ground again. [00:37:51] Speaker C: As you see her, her tattoos and stuff had started moving like her wings were starting to form. And then they stopped. Because I can just do wings if I start falling. [00:38:03] Speaker A: Oofair. I don't think has seen that. [00:38:06] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:38:06] Speaker C: Oh, yeah. You stayed inside during our flight song. [00:38:10] Speaker B: The elephant looks down at you all and scowls and changes form into a giant sword. [00:38:17] Speaker A: It takes 1d8 damage. [00:38:18] Speaker B: It takes 1d8 damage. Do you want to roll it? [00:38:21] Speaker A: Sure. [00:38:22] Speaker C: There's a little chip in the sword. [00:38:27] Speaker A: Eight. Ooh. [00:38:29] Speaker B: All right, Neros. [00:38:32] Speaker F: How far away is it again now? [00:38:34] Speaker B: It has drifted closer. It is 25ft away from you. [00:38:40] Speaker C: You can charm it. [00:38:42] Speaker F: Do I want to charm the elemental? [00:38:44] Speaker C: Do you speak its language? [00:38:46] Speaker F: I don't know. What kind of language does it spake? [00:38:48] Speaker D: It speaks air elemental. [00:38:50] Speaker C: Does it sprack in the Dutch? [00:38:52] Speaker F: Do I know? Do I need to make a recall knowledge check to see what kind of language it speaks? [00:38:56] Speaker B: Yes. [00:38:56] Speaker F: Oh, dang it. [00:38:58] Speaker B: Okay, nature or arcana. [00:39:00] Speaker F: Let's go. Arcana. [00:39:03] Speaker B: What's your bonus? [00:39:04] Speaker F: 18, my good sir. [00:39:05] Speaker B: Yes. You are confident that you'd be able to communicate with this creature in Sasuran, which is air elemental language. [00:39:13] Speaker F: Don't speak it. [00:39:14] Speaker C: You think it would start with an A. [00:39:15] Speaker B: You would think. [00:39:16] Speaker F: Does it have to be able to understand. Understand what I'm saying using the charm spell? Yeah. [00:39:22] Speaker B: I don't think so. [00:39:23] Speaker C: They say hips don't lie. [00:39:24] Speaker D: At most, you might get, like, a penalty. [00:39:28] Speaker F: I dance at it. [00:39:32] Speaker D: Give it a Little wink. [00:39:35] Speaker F: She's good at winking. At things and people. Yeah, it doesn't say anything about. It needs to understand what you're saying. [00:39:42] Speaker C: I'm actually very curious. Curious how charm works against, like, a creature that's summoned and has to, like, obey the will of something else. [00:39:49] Speaker B: All right, Abby, are you charming this creature? [00:39:51] Speaker F: I'm going to charm it. [00:39:54] Speaker B: What is your dc? [00:39:55] Speaker F: I don't know. I have to close the spell to look at that. 29. [00:40:00] Speaker C: You could use a hero, but natural 20. [00:40:03] Speaker F: Oh, my God, I freaking hate you. [00:40:06] Speaker B: That's my second natural 20 of the night. [00:40:09] Speaker F: And now it's aware I tried to charm it. Oh, because he critically succeeded. [00:40:14] Speaker B: Little eyes on the hilt of the sword squint. [00:40:17] Speaker C: And I used my natural Tony on initiative. [00:40:19] Speaker D: That's kind of adorable. [00:40:21] Speaker A: Seriously, dude, blame the dice. [00:40:24] Speaker F: Told you to use the tiny pocket watch dice. [00:40:27] Speaker B: Okay, let's see what the tiny pocket dice would have done. I am now holding in my hand a die. That is, what would you say? A third of an inch. [00:40:36] Speaker F: You said you would use the tiny pocket watch dice for anything that related to Nero's. [00:40:40] Speaker B: That's true. I did. That does invalidate that diary. [00:40:42] Speaker C: No, it doesn't. [00:40:44] Speaker F: Yes, it does. You hush. [00:40:49] Speaker A: Can you read it? [00:40:51] Speaker F: Is it a natural 20? [00:40:52] Speaker B: No, it is a natural one. [00:41:00] Speaker F: So which one we taken 20. [00:41:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:41:03] Speaker D: I feel like we gotta take the natural. [00:41:04] Speaker A: Quick. [00:41:05] Speaker C: Wait. Quick. Use a hero point. [00:41:06] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:41:07] Speaker B: Use the hero. [00:41:07] Speaker C: Right. And make him use the natla. [00:41:09] Speaker B: I think that's fair. [00:41:11] Speaker A: That works. [00:41:12] Speaker F: I want to get rid of this one. [00:41:14] Speaker C: Here you go. [00:41:16] Speaker B: So the eyes on the hilt starts to squint and then they open and it looks less menacing. It's a cloud sword. Hi, buddy. [00:41:33] Speaker F: Hi, buddy. It can listen. It's helpful toward us now. And it cannot use hostile actions against us. [00:41:39] Speaker D: Nice. [00:41:42] Speaker F: She. She says her magic words of her charm spell, which is. We can all be friends here. [00:41:47] Speaker D: I like how this is the second ambush. [00:41:52] Speaker A: The Abby has negated. [00:41:55] Speaker F: Just. No, I don't want to. [00:41:56] Speaker A: Right now we press 2 again. [00:41:59] Speaker C: Yeah. Can I press 9 to repeat the menu options? I don't remember which one was with. [00:42:03] Speaker B: Press. [00:42:03] Speaker A: Press 9 to repeat the menu options. [00:42:04] Speaker D: Who knows? It's. It's been a while. [00:42:08] Speaker A: Press 3 to hear this in Seftium. [00:42:11] Speaker C: Anyway, this was sus. [00:42:13] Speaker F: Can you understand what I'm saying? [00:42:16] Speaker B: It stares blankly, as most swords do. [00:42:19] Speaker F: Does anyone speak elemental? [00:42:22] Speaker D: I go to speak to it and like, the language sounds very wispy. And it's a lot of breath. [00:42:27] Speaker C: He's just breathing at It. [00:42:30] Speaker F: Yeah, exactly like that, basically. Can you ask it if it can carry us up there? [00:42:37] Speaker D: I'll try. I'm not. I just learned this, like, three days ago. Can you up us? [00:42:47] Speaker F: Can you up us? [00:42:48] Speaker C: Uppies. [00:42:50] Speaker B: The cloud disperses and then recollects into a giant bird. [00:42:56] Speaker D: I think that's a yes. [00:42:59] Speaker B: And it reaches down and gently grabs near us and starts flying up to the cloud with it. [00:43:04] Speaker D: Oh, no, no. All of us. I start yelling at it. [00:43:09] Speaker C: The bucket's coming. [00:43:11] Speaker B: And it yells back. And its dialect is more sophisticated than what you're familiar with. But you get the gist of. Hold your horses, man. [00:43:21] Speaker D: Got it. [00:43:21] Speaker C: I wonder how Zafir's doing up there. [00:43:24] Speaker E: Me too. [00:43:25] Speaker F: Meanwhile, do I pass? Do I pass Zafir? [00:43:27] Speaker B: No, because Zafir was heading on up while all of this was happening. So Zafir, as all of this was going down and this giant cloud elephant was ominously drifting down the chain, you and Sigurd make your way up the chain into the clouds. And there's like, a really dramatic cinematic moment where it's just like you can't see anything. And then suddenly, you break out of the clouds. The sun is shining on you from above, and there's this massive castle. And by massive, I don't mean lots of rooms. I mean in terms of scale. Zafir, you're used to being shorts. [00:44:07] Speaker C: In terms of scale, there is no scale. [00:44:11] Speaker B: But this castle looks like it's built for someone four or five times the size of an average man. [00:44:19] Speaker E: Not too much bigger. [00:44:21] Speaker C: I don't know. [00:44:23] Speaker E: What about that bucket? [00:44:25] Speaker B: The bucket is kind of like dangling off the side of the castle grounds themselves. So as you are now broken through the clouds, you can see the clouds sort of work as, like, a buoy supporting the castle, but there's, like, stone and dirt. There's, like an orchard on one portion, and there the bucket is. There's, like a winch that's installed on one end of the, like, the actual ground where it breaks, and the bucket's kind of just hanging off the side. [00:44:55] Speaker E: Does it look like something that I can manipulate with my tiny hands? [00:45:01] Speaker B: It is surprisingly small for the rest of them, maybe only, like twice the size you would expect. So with some effort, you might be able to operate it. [00:45:10] Speaker E: Okay, I'm gonna direct Sigurd over there to just kind of land nearby. And am I able to see back down where I came flut? [00:45:18] Speaker A: So it's just. [00:45:19] Speaker B: Yeah, not from your vantage point. Once you're on the cloud castle itself directly beneath you, is ground. And if you try to look over the edge, there's too much cloud kind of coming around the sides for you to be able to see the peak where your friends came from. But if you are looking outwards, you can actually see a ridiculously long distance of landscape ahead of you. [00:45:40] Speaker D: Okay. [00:45:42] Speaker E: So the point is, I wanted to see what was going on down there, but since I don't know what's happening, I'm just gonna start lowering the bucket. [00:45:49] Speaker B: Go ahead and give me athletics check. [00:45:51] Speaker E: Okay. [00:45:51] Speaker C: Oh, boy. He's not strong enough. [00:45:54] Speaker A: He does apparently do more push ups than Uber. [00:45:56] Speaker D: That's. That's trust right there. [00:46:00] Speaker E: 35. [00:46:01] Speaker C: Oh, wow. [00:46:05] Speaker B: So you get to the winch and you see this big lever and you go to grab it and you just. Surprising even yourself, you just reach up and just with one arm, just. And now the bucket is loose and is at a controlled rate descending down from the island. [00:46:25] Speaker E: I got nothing to do but wait. [00:46:28] Speaker B: So back on the ground, as you all are watching, as the cloud bird is ascending with Neros, a bucket comes and just, like, narrowly misses the bird. [00:46:38] Speaker D: I was gonna cast impending disaster on it. So it's very funny. [00:46:45] Speaker C: Breaks a chunk of the mountain. [00:46:48] Speaker B: This bucket comes squeakily winching its way down from the mountaintop and comes to a gentle stop at just the right height for you to all climb into the bucket from the peak. [00:47:01] Speaker A: Should we wait for the bird or do we get in the bucket? [00:47:04] Speaker C: I get in the bucket. [00:47:06] Speaker D: I mean, yeah, I think the air element will be nice. Enjoy the fact he doesn't have to take us all. So I get in the bucket. [00:47:14] Speaker B: Inside of the bucket is a lot of just, like, scraps. There's bits of lettuce, chunks of potato. There might even be some wool. [00:47:25] Speaker C: Yeah, this is how they get rid of stuff. [00:47:28] Speaker D: Howard's going to summon his invisible, his phantasmal minion, and it's just gonna start picking up the bucket and throwing everything out. [00:47:38] Speaker B: There goes valley. [00:47:42] Speaker F: I'm sorry that I like, you know, ruined your entire combat. [00:47:46] Speaker C: I'm happy about it. [00:47:47] Speaker D: It was great. [00:47:48] Speaker F: Meanwhile, are you sure you're okay with that? [00:47:50] Speaker B: Yeah. Okay. Meanwhile, Neros and this cloud eagle burst up through the clouds. And it goes into slow motion. [00:47:57] Speaker C: Oh, no. They burst the clouds. The cloud eagle goes away. [00:48:00] Speaker B: Zafir, you knew that this giant cloud elephant was menacingly going down to attack your friends, and this cloud bird now bursts out of the clouds carrying Nero's best day ever. [00:48:11] Speaker E: Is she smiling or is she not smiling? [00:48:14] Speaker D: You just shouted best day ever. [00:48:16] Speaker E: Okay, that was in Character. [00:48:17] Speaker A: Cool. [00:48:17] Speaker E: Then I'm not gonna do anything. The question though is, can I tell that the bucket has reached a stop? [00:48:23] Speaker C: I grabbed the. [00:48:24] Speaker B: Oh, you see? You see the. Yeah, so you see the rope, like, it stops and then you just see shortly afterwards the. Like somebody's tugging on the rope. [00:48:33] Speaker E: Okay, then this is gonna take forever, isn't it? Do I have to crank it all the way up? [00:48:39] Speaker B: It's like a lever operated winch. [00:48:40] Speaker E: Oh, okay. So I'm gonna throw that switch. [00:48:45] Speaker C: Kachunk. [00:48:46] Speaker B: And you pop her in reverse. And the bucket starts lifting from the mountain peak. [00:48:51] Speaker A: Uvaire's in the bucket. That's just for players. [00:48:54] Speaker C: Quick, get it. [00:48:58] Speaker B: There's an unnecessarily dramatic moment as Neubhair jumps to grab onto Val's hand. [00:49:03] Speaker C: And neither of us can take his hand. [00:49:04] Speaker D: It grabs my phantasmal minion. [00:49:08] Speaker C: I'm not taking the hand, but my phantasmal hand will take it. [00:49:13] Speaker F: That's hilarious. [00:49:15] Speaker B: And before too long, the three of you are also pulled up to the surface of this castle. The stone is bright white limestone with blue banners from the tops of each of the towers. The castle grounds look like they were once very nice gardens, well kept. But they seem to be overgrown now. There's bones, carcasses, and just kind of rubbish just strewn all over. [00:49:43] Speaker F: That looks friendly. [00:49:44] Speaker D: I turn to the air elemental bird. I'm like, master question mark who? [00:49:54] Speaker B: The bird waves his wing and says, you don't need to call me that. [00:49:58] Speaker D: No, no. [00:50:00] Speaker F: Ask him where the crown is. [00:50:03] Speaker A: King. Ask him where the king is. [00:50:06] Speaker D: King's crown. [00:50:08] Speaker B: Where the bird points to a. There's a portion with a lot. A large decorative stairway that goes to a circular oval shaped room that has two wings coming off of it and a tower coming up from the center. But he gestures towards the center of all of that. [00:50:28] Speaker D: And then who summoned you? [00:50:32] Speaker B: He nods. [00:50:33] Speaker D: Okay, so it's over there. And whoever has it summoned the bird. Elephant sword. [00:50:40] Speaker C: Do you know who summoned him? [00:50:41] Speaker A: Can you ask him if he is. Was meant to scout us off or kill us? [00:50:47] Speaker C: Maybe don't remind him of that. [00:50:51] Speaker D: Why summoned Protect. [00:50:56] Speaker F: Probably kill us. [00:50:58] Speaker D: Get us away. [00:50:59] Speaker C: Can he say who summoned him? [00:51:02] Speaker D: I asked who summoned the king. Ah, so like I said, the one with the crown. Summon. [00:51:10] Speaker F: Okay. [00:51:10] Speaker C: All right. [00:51:12] Speaker F: Can I pet his beak? [00:51:16] Speaker B: You can try. [00:51:18] Speaker F: It's too fluffy, isn't it? [00:51:19] Speaker B: Yeah, you kind of dip into it. [00:51:21] Speaker C: If Superman can sit on a cloud, then I think Nero's can pet one. [00:51:27] Speaker F: I want to pet the cloud. [00:51:31] Speaker B: Your hand just kind of poofs. But he. He appreciates the gesture. Okay. [00:51:37] Speaker C: All right, so we go that way. [00:51:42] Speaker D: Thank you. Have a good day. [00:51:48] Speaker B: Hey, just, like, an arm. Just, like, reaches out of the side, gives you a thumbs up. [00:51:55] Speaker D: We have about an hour before he remembers his mission. [00:51:58] Speaker F: No, I casted it fourth level, so it's all day. [00:52:01] Speaker D: Oh, fantastic. That's all right. Let's just do our thing and get out of here, then. [00:52:05] Speaker F: But presumably, if we get in trouble, he could come help us. [00:52:08] Speaker A: I don't think he could do that. [00:52:09] Speaker D: Yeah, I don't think he'd go against his. [00:52:11] Speaker F: You never know. [00:52:12] Speaker D: Binding magic is pretty solid. [00:52:14] Speaker F: Yeah, but you never know. [00:52:16] Speaker D: You never know. [00:52:17] Speaker F: It's a possibility. Anyway. That was the best ride I've ever had in my life. That was fun. [00:52:22] Speaker E: Well, I'm glad you're all okay. I was a bit worried whenever I saw the giant bird jump out of the clouds. [00:52:29] Speaker A: I mean, Val almost took a tumble off the mountain, but we. We made sure she did not. [00:52:34] Speaker C: I was fine. She's, like, already ahead. I have wings. [00:52:40] Speaker E: It's true. She can fly and stuff. [00:52:43] Speaker A: Wait, you can fly? [00:52:45] Speaker C: I got wings. Yeah. My. [00:52:47] Speaker F: Maybe we shouldn't shout. [00:52:51] Speaker C: Val annoyingly walks back to you guys. Yeah, it's because my heritage, my blood is tied back to Valkyries, and I suppose I've either grown in tune with enough or just. I've just gotten so much stronger. I don't know. [00:53:09] Speaker A: You've gone native. [00:53:11] Speaker C: So I can pop out these wings now, but only for a little bit. Like, once a day. I'm still getting used to them. Yeah. So that's it. Are you guys gonna go? [00:53:24] Speaker D: I've been walking. [00:53:26] Speaker C: All right. [00:53:26] Speaker F: Walking and talking. [00:53:28] Speaker A: Less walking. Less talking, more walking. [00:53:30] Speaker B: As you've been walking and talking, you've made it a reasonable distance away from the bucket winch. And you hear a voice in Jotun saying, agar, did you hear the winch? And that's where we'll end this episode. Uh. Oh, sorry. [00:53:49] Speaker C: Agargarg. I am a ghost. I am a gog. [00:53:55] Speaker B: No, we didn't hear the winch. [00:53:58] Speaker E: And Zafir goes. What? [00:53:59] Speaker B: What? [00:53:59] Speaker C: It was just me. [00:54:00] Speaker B: Ah, Sven, you're giving me flashbacks to my first ever time gming. All right, and the hero point for today's episode goes to Abby for the fun, charming of a Air Elemental. [00:54:14] Speaker A: Yeah, just too charming. Abby, I. [00:54:17] Speaker F: No, I'm not. That's Nero's. I'm actually surprised that I was able to charm that thing. [00:54:25] Speaker A: Air. [00:54:25] Speaker C: It was funny. [00:54:26] Speaker A: You're so good. You charmed air. [00:54:29] Speaker F: No, I Think it was because Jordy rolled so badly on the tiny die. [00:54:34] Speaker C: You know, he rolled badly enough for us enough that he deserves to get one for himself. [00:54:39] Speaker B: It was my time. It was. [00:54:41] Speaker F: Anyway. That's fun. I always love being able to use Neris's, like. I don't know. What's the word I want? [00:54:48] Speaker C: Charm? [00:54:49] Speaker F: No. Charisma? No. Her. Oh, my gosh. There's a word I want. It's right on the tip of my tongue. [00:54:59] Speaker C: Salaciousness? [00:54:59] Speaker F: Ew. [00:55:00] Speaker E: Moniker. [00:55:03] Speaker F: I guess her key ability. I don't know. She. [00:55:06] Speaker C: She likes to try defining features. [00:55:08] Speaker F: Yes. Her defining feature, which is charming people. [00:55:14] Speaker C: Ring, ring. [00:55:15] Speaker F: Anyway, thank you. And I'm gonna go take a nap. It's very cozy weather for a nap. [00:55:23] Speaker A: It's nap weather. [00:55:24] Speaker F: I'm gonna go light a fall, you know, scented candle, get some coffee with some nutmeg. Sounds good. Anyway, I won't let that happen.
